“Effy has an amazing time ever week and although I was nervous about leaving her, that has completely disappeared now! Effy will be visiting weekly for the foreseeable future. She is looked after so well, I am kept up to date with pictures and I know she is cared for as well as she could be at home. So glad I found Eszter she is fantastic!”
“I am really happy with how Scoot looked after my Athena, he sent me constant updates on how she progressed throughout the day which is super reassuring. Thank you so much again.”

About: They say you can tell if somebody is a good person when animals feel safe in their presence... Well, not to blow my own trumpet, but... toot toot! Animals really do seem to love me :-) I think it's because they know that I love them back! I've previously had a dog of my own, and then inherited my mum's dog a few years ago, who I'd bought & trained for my mum in the first place. I trained him off-lead too before giving him to her, so I think he'd always seen me as his real mummy & maybe thought my mum was just his girlfriend, ha! I'm a firm believer in making sure dogs get plenty of outdoor time & exercise- having moved up to Peterborough from London, my dog was previously an apartment dog so was used to being walked at least 3 times a day, and we've continued that up here, even though we have a large garden. I just don't think it's fair to dogs to let them sit indoors all day, so I'm always out walking with my dog, Baby. Family & friends have also always relied on me to take care of their dogs when they've been away, and I regularly meet up with friends & their fur babies for lots of dog socialising & fun. I work from home Monday to Friday until 2pm, which is when I pick up my 13month old daughter from nursery, but the nature of my job means I'm around for lots of cuddles & play throughout the day (even when I'm on Zoom calls!), and regular walks in the morning, at lunch time and in the evenings. I have a fenced garden and a fur baby of my own to keep your fur baby company if needed. My daughter has been around dogs since she was born, so she is used to patting dogs gently & not doing anything to annoy them. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and in any room that I'm in - it's their home too! However, if your dog has a tendency to moult, I'm afraid they won't be allowed on the beds.
“Ozzy highly enjoyed staying with Stuart. He was welcomed warmly and was looked after very well from the moment he got there! I can highly recommend Stuart and will be rebooking.”

“Great care taken of our two girls, Hettie and Elsie, again. Felt very confident leaving them with Amy. Great communication and we will definitely rebook another time.”

“I had a great experience with Carla and Jim! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and caring pet care. From the start, they were incredibly friendly and approachable, which immediately put me at ease. They arranged a meet and greet beforehand, which was a really thoughtful touch and helped both me and my dog feel comfortable before the stay as it was my first time using Rover. During the time they were looking after my dog, they provided regular updates and photos, which was so reassuring and showed how well my dog was being cared for. It was clear that my dog was happy, relaxed, and getting plenty of attention. I really appreciated the level of care and communication throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Carla and Jim again and would definitely recommend them to other dog owners looking for someone trustworthy and kind to look after their pet! Thank you!”

About: Find us on Facebook: Daisy and Bings Paw Patrol - with Jess I have been relied upon for the last 10 years by friends, family and neighbours to look after their pets while they have been away. I have looked after hamsters, rabbits, gerbils, guinea pigs, cats, dogs and once a lizard... I show each and every animal that I take care of the same amount of love as I show my own pets. I currently work part-time as a carer. I usually have a max of 4 hours work in a day and drive all around Peterborough so can easily pop in to your pets and can make time for walks before and after my work. Please send me a message regardless of what my calendar looks like, I am always willing to work something out that will benefit me, you and your pet(s). I have an Old English Sheepdog who is the most kind and loving to everyone and all animals, if you would like, I can take your dog(s) out on walks with Daisy or I can take them alone. Let me know what you prefer and I will adhere to your wishes! Whatever the animal, I will show them as much love as I show my own pets.
“Thank you so much for taking such good care of Poppy. The updates with the lovely pictures was amazing and I completely felt she was having a lovely time with you and your family - would 110% book with you again and would highly recommend you. Thank you again xx”

About: I've taken care of multiple dogs since I was small, with variations in size and breed. I have experience with energetic young mixed-breed dogs as well as older dogs with special medical needs. Nothing is too much to provide the care, affection, and training our furry friends require! New to official formal sitting, hence the "1 year". I'm a researcher and a writer working from home in the middle of Peterborough, so I can easily fit let care into my weekly and daily routines. My time is my own to organise, so if a pet needs full attention and care I can give them that, or if they just need company I can bring my work to them! When caring for a pet, that let becomes my main priority! At the moment I'm keen to provide care in the pet owner's home, or indeed outside. Details depend on the pet caring circumstances, but I'll maintain high standards of safety by building trust and maintaining a relationship with the pet and the pet owner.
About: Myself and my husband are experienced dog owners, and have been around dogs our whole lives. We are happy to consider any dog breed and can handle large or small dogs. We had an Alaskan Malamute weighing 48kgs in her prime, sadly we lost her in August at 14 years old, so no trouble handling big and stubborn breeds! We do have a 14 year old cockerpoo called Alfie who is very tolerant and misses his companion - therefore dogs coming to us must be okay with other dogs. He is neutered. We have a loving family home with husband and wife team and grown up children who are always happy to play with dogs walk, entertain, exercise etc (children are 16, 19, 22 and are dog lovers like us!) We have a large enclosed garden for dogs to roam around in and are a cat free home. Boarding and doggy day care welcome, we often go to the seaside too, so if you pooch likes the beach they'd be welcome to come with us if they can travel in the car okay. Happy to answer any questions, or set up a meet and greet with your furbaby. I work part time 3 days a week and my husband works from home full time, so there is always someone around to keep you dog company and give them the love and care they need. Evenings and weekends we have 3 grown up children that are dog lovers like us, and are more than happy to help keep your dog entertained (children are 22, 19, 16 so not little kids). We have a large secure fenced garden for dogs to roam around in as they please. There is always someone at home. We have a 14 year old cockerpoo who misses his companion who we lost this year. He is a gentlemen. Happy to crate if needed, though we do not have a crate at the moment so this will need to be provided.
About: Compassionate & Experienced Pet Sitter As a former dog and cat owner, I deeply understand the unique companionship and unconditional love that pets bring into our lives. It's that special bond I miss most, which is why I've joined Rover—to continue caring for animals and to share that mutual affection once again. I have extensive experience keeping pets safe and secure, and I'm dedicated to providing your furry family members with the same level of care and attention I gave my own. I can’t wait to meet your pets and build a trusting relationship with them. I am now also qualified in Animal Care and Pet First Aid & CPR Training at Level 3. I currently work part-time from home, so I will have plenty of time to walk and play with your fur babies. I am available weekdays, weekends evenings, and holiday cover at my home or if you prefer at yours. I am committed to providing your dog with a safe, loving, and stress-free stay. My home features a fully enclosed and secure garden, so your dog can play freely and safely between walks. I prioritise building trust with every pet, using a calm and patient approach. You will receive regular updates, including photos, to show you how happy your dog is in my care. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your best friend is in a safe and happy environment.

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Peterborough
Jakub and his family were really helpful when I was booking for Coco. She is an anxious dog, but when I took her on the day, she settled in perfectly well. Jacob was great about taking special care of her extra needs e.g. extra pee breaks because of her age (15), and not letting her jump too much due to her arthritis. When I picked Coco up, it was great to see that she was happy. This is the best recommendation. I would definitely book Jakub again, I think Coco would be excited to go back. I will also definitely recommend him to other owners.

Erika was absolutely amazing. I dropped my boy with her for the day and she was super communicative sending me updates, pictures and videos while I was away. This was very reassuring and my dog looked very happy with her! Erika was also very kind and flexible. I had to arrive a bit later than what I had arranged and she was able to accommodate that bit of extra time. That was a life saver. Thank you so much. I will use her services next time I go to Peterborough. Highly recommended 💯

It was lovely meeting Benjamin and his wife. They are such beautiful souls and very friendly. Simba had sooo much fun whole day. Thank you for taking him for lake side walk I'm sure he loved his first experience to that. We will meet soon. Thanks alot. Forever friend Simba and his parents.

We had a fantastic experience with Brett when he looked after our puppy, Izzy. Brett made sure she got lots of time outside, and really helped with her socialisation by introducing her to another dog in a calm and positive way. Izzy had a great day and was clearly well cared for.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
