About: I grew up surrounded by dogs and have been a dog owner for the past eight years. I am fully insured and have a friendly Labrador, Flora, who loves the company of other dogs. As a family of animal lovers, we understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your dog. Every dog in our care is treated like one of our own, with plenty of love, attention and exercise, so you can relax knowing they are in safe and caring hands. Pet care is a big part of our daily life. I work part-time from home, so I am around throughout the day and can provide plenty of supervision, companionship and attention. We have a friendly four-year-old Labrador, Flora, who loves having canine company. Dogs in our care join us on our many walks to the local parks, where they can enjoy plenty of exercise, sniffing and socialisation. At home, we have a large, secure garden where we spend lots of time playing fetch and other games, ensuring your dog stays happy, active and entertained. I provide a safe, comfortable and caring home-from-home environment for every dog in my care. I have a large, fully enclosed and secure garden with plenty of space for dogs to play, explore and relax throughout the day. Inside, dogs are treated as part of the family and can enjoy a calm, welcoming environment tailored to their individual needs and routines. If your dog is crate trained or requires a crate for sleeping or downtime, I am happy to accommodate this to help them feel settled and secure during their stay.
“We used this service for the first time this week and we were nervous to have our puppy away from us for 7/8 hours. We needn’t have worried!! Cheryl instantly made us, and our pup, feel calm and welcomed and Cheryl’s pup, Lionel, is now our pup’s ‘bestie’. The whole experience was so rewarding. Thank you Cheryl for your kindness.”
“Robert was very responsive to messages from booking, to drop-off and pick-up! He made sure to double check if our dog, Casper, was allowed treats etc., took him on a walk and provided lots of photos and videos! I'm sure I'll ask him to look after Casper again in the future!”

“Danielle and her Partner were amazing. I was nervous about leaving Nala and Lucky with someone new, especially as I’d never met them before. They settled very quickly and I appreciated all the updates which made relax, knowing they were both very happy. I would highly recommend.”

About: I currently have two elderly pugs who live at home with my little family who have high care needs. We are all dog lovers in the house so guests will be made very welcome and pampered :) There will always be someone in the house on an average day as we work from home and can be flexible with care needs for your dog :) We have a lovely fenced garden with fresh grass and plenty to sniff! Dogs can have free roam of the large downstairs area and in the summer direct access to the garden via open doors.
“Buddy had a great day with William and Orion, whilst we were up here visiting family. Orion was very accommodating with buddy’s energy. They had a lovely walk nearby in an enclosed area and then fun back at their spacious house. William clearly has a way with animals. Will definitely use William’s experienced services again. My only wish is that they lived close to us in southwest London! 🙃🐕🙏👌”

“Hayley was an absolute star as usual! I needed a last minute sitter for Posie on a day she doesn’t usually go to Hayley’s and she accommodated above and beyond for Posie as per usual! Posie was so happy and excited when I picked her up I could tell she had the best day! Thank you so much again 🫶🏼”

“Very happy with Sara. Great sitter and it was really good to do a meet and greet first which calmed our nerves. Bella had a great time and we were relaxed knowing she was in good hands while at our event. Recommended.”

“Sandra had Ria for a long day while I was working in London and was absolutely fantastic - professional, well organised, super communication. Ria loved her stay so much she didn't want to leave when I collected her. I felt at all times that Ria was in safe hands and being well looked after and I wouldn't hesitate to use Sandra's services again or recommend her to anyone else.”

Required to be held on leads during walks for safety reasons.
“Adriana took perfect care of our energetic little lad. With regular updates throughout the day on how Gimli & her own pup were getting on was brilliant. Felt really reassured that Gimli was in safe hands. Prior to confirming Gimli's stay Adriana was quick to respond to any questions and was accommodating to what Gimli needed. Would 100% recommend Adriana to anyone interested in Doggy Day Car & Gimli will definitely be going back to see his new friend Mercury 🐶😊”

About: I’ve grown up around a variety of pets and have always loved being around animals. In my early 20s, I owned a small crossbreed dog. I’ve often helped friends by looking after their dogs while they were away usually for about a week at a time. I really enjoy the companionship of both dogs and cats, and I treat every pet I care for with kindness, patience, and attention. While I can’t have a pet of my own right now due to renting, I’m excited to offer a safe and caring environment for yours. Hi, I’m Julia! I recently moved to the area and I’m looking to support local pet owners by helping with dog walking or occasional pet sitting. I work from home on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, which makes those days ideal for caring for calm, well-behaved dogs who are comfortable relaxing nearby while I work. I usually step out for about an hour during the day, but I make sure pets are settled and safe before I do. I go on a morning walk around 7:20am most days, lasting 30–40 minutes, and I spend a lot of time on weekends exploring the local area on foot or by bike having a furry companion join me would be a joy! I’m often available on weekends, and I may also be open to holiday pet sitting once we’ve built a good relationship and I feel confident with your pet’s needs. If you think I’d be a good fit for your pet, feel free to send me a message :) Right now, I offer dog walking, with the possibility of day care or holiday care once we’ve built trust and I feel comfortable with your pet’s needs. I only look after pets that are generally calm and well-behaved, as I’m not a professional trainer. Whether we’re out on a walk or spending time together at home, your pet’s safety and comfort always come first.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
