“So pleased with the care our dogs received. Demi kept the house clean and tidy, took them on lovely walks, and sent regular photo updates which gave us real peace of mind. We came home to happy dogs and everything just as we left it. Would absolutely recommend!”

“Sophie is amazing with Tilly and knowing she is in safe hands makes me feel a lot better. We book Sophie any time we need help with Tilly and she is always amazing and Tilly adores her. So glad we found Sophie.”

“We've just had Jesse house sit for us and look after Buddy for the first time and we couldn't be happier with the service. It was a very last minute booking but Jesse made time to come and do a meet and greet before the sit date. She was polite, friendly and professional and we felt like Buddy and our home were in safe hands. Would not hesitate to book again.”

About: I’ve grown up with pets and, as an adult, my home has always been filled with dogs. Caring for them has never felt like a task ... it’s simply part of everyday life for me. Alongside this, I’ve spent many years working as a teacher, which has shaped a calm, patient, and consistent approach to care. I’m used to maintaining routines, reading behaviour carefully, and creating environments where others feel safe, settled, and supported ... skills that translate naturally to looking after dogs in my home. I offer calm, attentive care in a relaxed home environment, treating every dog as an individual and settling them in at their own pace. My approach is gentle, patient, and routine-focused, which helps dogs feel comfortable while you're away. I currently share a home with our 2-year-old dog, Lula, who is friendly, and used to welcoming other dogs into the house. I only host a small number of dogs at a time so each one gets plenty of attention, supervision, and quiet space when needed. I’m home for much of the day and have a flexible schedule, which means dogs are rarely left alone and routines can be maintained consistently. My availability is increasing, allowing me to offer attentive, reliable care throughout the week. My home offers a safe and calm environment, with a fully fenced garden for outdoor time and play. I'm also just steps away from peaceful walking paths and local parks, allowing for relaxed, regular walks without the need for busy roads or travel.
“Ellie was absolutely fantastic with our 16 week old puppy and sent very regular updates which were super reassuring especially when leaving your pup for the first time!! Could not recommend more! 🥰”

“Tanya looked after our three dogs for the weekend and was brilliant. We had lots of updates throughout and communication was excellent the whole time, we felt completely reassured leaving them with her 🥰”

“Hannah was amazing with Opie and Cash, and they loved her! Communication was great and always prompt with responses. Hannah sent us pics and kept us updated on how the boys were doing while we were out of town. If you’re looking for someone who loves animals to take care of your pets, Hannah is the one!”
About: Update…. I now devote all my spare time to loving and caring for other animals, from dogs and cats to guinea pigs and rabbits. Anything you might need looking after please get in touch, prices can be changed for smaller pets too. I have a cockapoo who is now 4 years old and recently lost a schnauzer who was 13. I care for my dog and all my cats going for short walks to long adventures. All dogs are unique and require different care and if you need someone to pop in when you’re out for long hours or overnight. Just get in touch. I can walk them or just provide company. I work part time so I have a lot of spare time on my hands and over the last 2 months I have been working for a cat sitting service. I absolutely love caring for other people’s pets. Feeding, playing and ensuring they are not alone for long periods of time. I care for pets in their own homes/enviroments. It eases any unnecessary stress to them. I pop in during the day once or twice length of time can vary.
“Seoyeon was an excellent cat sitter. She followed my instruction to the letter, sent regular updates with pictures and left my hope exactly as she found it. She even fed my fish. Very reliable and dependable, will defiantly use again as needed.”

“Rosie was great! She was reliable, punctual you could tell straight away that she has a natural way with dogs. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Rosie again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter.”

“We were absolutely delighted with Philippa and David as our dog sitters. From the start, they put us at ease by sending lots of photos and regular updates about our dog, who was clearly having a wonderful time in their care. It was such a relief to see how happy and relaxed Milo was while we were away. Not only did they take excellent care of our dog, but they also kept our home spotless and even went the extra mile by watering our plants. Coming back to a well maintained house and contented dog made our trip stress free. We’d happily recommend Philippa and David to anyone looking for truly thoughtful and responsible sitters.”

“Kristine was great with our puppy. She was very punctual on arrival and very attentive to our puppy’s needs. She got lots of play throughout the night and Kristine sent us updates which was lovely. Would recommend”

About: We are owners of 10 year old little Yorkshire terrier and 1 year old Bichon Frise. Dogs in our family were always treated as official parts of our family and always spoiled to the moon and back. We've have had and older German shepherd but unfortunately had to put him down because of his sickness, that caused a big hole in our hearts. Our little Yorkshire is a friendly, polite doggy with a little body but massive heart ❤ and little Bichon is treating him as an older brother If anything is unclear or you want to ask something, just send us a message. I’ll be glad to answer and assist you whenever needed. 😊
About: I’ve had pets all my life and truly understand how much they mean to us. I’m passionate about caring for animals of all shapes and sizes and I love spending time with them and getting to know all their personalities. Whether your pet needs a walk, some playtime, or just a little extra attention, I’m here to help. I’m reliable, gentle, and always focused on making sure they feel happy and safe. I currently have a fully time job during the week; but can take flexible lunch breaks and have ample time in the morning and afternoons for walks and check ins. Weekends I can be very flexible to accommodate whatever your pet needs. I have a large fenced garden for running around and play time, and in the house we have a door restricting access to upstairs. I can also send pictures and updates throughout my time with your pet.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and genuinely love caring for them. I have lived with dogs since I was a child but moved out of my family home in November 2025. My friends and family trust me to walk, feed, and look after their pets and I do so often. I’m patient, responsible, and make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable and happy. I work full time as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. I work from home 4 days a week and have alternate Mondays off work which allows me to provide plenty of attention, regular walks and consistent care throughout the day. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a spacious, fully fenced driveway that is secure and free from hazards, giving your dog plenty of room to move and play safely. While I don’t have a garden, your dog will still have a safe outdoor area for supervised exercise. I ensure the space is clean, well maintained, and monitored throughout the day. Inside, your dog will have a comfortable environment with plenty of attention and care. Dogs are never left unattended outdoors, and I provide plenty of interaction, walks, and mental stimulation throughout their stay.
“Alice so kindly came to the rescue to look after our young dog and cat at short notice over the weekend! She was such a calm and friendly presence and we (and the animals!) were very grateful. She kept us updated so I didn’t have to worry and accommodated everything they needed. Both animals were very relaxed and happy when we got back, which is so reassuring. She was super respectful of our home too. Thank you so much!”

About: Since leaving home and having my own place, I have looked after other people's and had my own pets. Looking after has including weeing, feeding and walking. I am fun, energetic and always keen to help others! Pet care fits really naturally into my routine. I have a flexible schedule and enjoy structuring my day around walks, feeding times, play, and companionship. I’m active and outdoorsy, so regular walks and exercise are easy to slot in, and I can work at home to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, and affection throughout the day. On a weekly basis, I plan ahead to make sure each pet’s routine is consistent, calm, and tailored to their needs. I always prioritise safety, trust, and comfort. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding instructions, walking preferences, and any medical or behavioural needs. In my home, pets have a calm, clean, and secure environment with plenty of space, a fenced garden, supervision, and enrichment. In an owner’s home, I’m respectful and reliable, keeping everything as it was left and maintaining the pet’s normal routine to minimise stress. I keep doors, gates, and leads secure at all times, avoid unfamiliar risks, and provide regular updates so owners can feel confident their pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“Emily looked after our Cavapoo for a week in our house. She was absolutely brilliant and we would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter. She gave us regular photo and text updates, and took him for walks. She was happy to have him at her own house too, just so that he wasn't on his own too much in the day, which she didn't need to do, but was very much appreciated - we could see from the photos how happy and relaxed our dog was all week. Thanks Emily! 🥰”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Huntingdonshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
