Luna obviously felt so at home with her and her family and we would definitely book again and recommend! Hayley is friendly, kind and her home is a lovely safe environment for any pet Thanks so much! Debbie, Stefi and Luna!”

“As a repeat customer of Sandra's, I would not trust anyone else more. She is always kind and loving towards my Frenchie. She took great care of him during a heatwave that he tends to struggle with. Communication is always superb with Sandra. I highly recommend her!”

“Our dogs have just spent their first over night with Janet and Bruce and they were just great . Lots of photos to reassure me the dogs had settled and I know our dogs were in good experienced hands I am already looking to book another date”

“Wonderful family to look after your dog! We Had lots of updates and our dog Terry made himself at home with Sarah and family very quickly! In fact I’m pretty sure he copped a strop when we bought him home because hes been missing his little friend Rudi. Thank you so much for having him, would definitely recommend and would definitely use again 🙂”

“I’m incredibly happy with the care Zeus received while staying with Will. He was brilliant and even helped keep on top of Zeus’s training, which is so important (and very much needed!) with a lively Boxer puppy. On pick-up, Zeus was happy, well-adjusted, and clearly well cared for. I’m especially grateful that Will was available for this booking, as his experience with the Boxer breed and training his own service dog, Orion, gave me real peace of mind. The regular updates, complete with photos and videos, were so reassuring. I’d happily send Zeus again in the future and would highly recommend Will to anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and caring sitter.”

“Photos went sent to me so i could see chip, he settled in straight away and has slept non stop since being home so he had a playful weekend, I would 100% leave chip with Steven and his family again”

“Ewaluba made Gracie very welcome in her home and I felt Gracie was happy and well looked after. She had met Ewa Lina's dogs before and she has fun while she there. I felt perfectly comfortable with her staying there.”

“Thank you Teresa for looking after Bess so well again and having her stay for her first night with you. ❤️ it was so great to have the photos come through and to know she was in safe hands. Thank you.”

“Eric is wonderful! He accepted our boarding request on short notice, and was willing to meet our dog, Finnegan, and us the same day. During that initial meeting, he showed us one of his usual walking routes and got his pup and ours acquainted. As soon as we dropped off Finnegan for his boarding, he ran to greet Eric, so it’s safe to say he liked him! Eric communicated promptly and clearly throughout our booking and provided photo updates. He followed our instructions and went above and beyond to make sure Finnegan felt at home. I highly recommend booking with Eric, we will be booking his services again!”

About: Update…. I now devote all my spare time to loving and caring for other animals, from dogs and cats to guinea pigs and rabbits. Anything you might need looking after please get in touch, prices can be changed for smaller pets too. I have a cockapoo who is now 4 years old and recently lost a schnauzer who was 13. I care for my dog and all my cats going for short walks to long adventures. All dogs are unique and require different care and if you need someone to pop in when you’re out for long hours or overnight. Just get in touch. I can walk them or just provide company. I work part time so I have a lot of spare time on my hands and over the last 2 months I have been working for a cat sitting service. I absolutely love caring for other people’s pets. Feeding, playing and ensuring they are not alone for long periods of time. I care for pets in their own homes/enviroments. It eases any unnecessary stress to them. I pop in during the day once or twice length of time can vary.
“Jess was a great sitter. She made Orion feel at home. Orion suffered from separation anxiety white there, Jess communicated very well to make Orion feel comfortable. She kept me updated regularly and that made me feel very comfortable. If you looking for a sitter that will give your pet a home away from, book Jess. I'll definitely be booking her again.”
“Jane was absolutely wonderful with Maple and he had such a great time he didn’t want to leave! I absolutely recommend Jane although please allow a time slot free for us so we can come back!!”
“We met Linda prior to Noodles stay, such a lovely lady. Noodles had a great time. Linda kept us updated with pics and messages at least once every day. Noodles is on medication twice daily and Linda was happy to administer his tablets. I can't recommend Linda highly enough we will certainly be letting Noodles stay with Linda again xx”

“Suey and her partner gave a loving home and a fun company to Chase. They were happy to have an introductory meeting before the actual date and kept me updated very well with messages and lots of photos. I’m sure Chase enjoyed his time with them and we will come back again if they will be available. Thank you, guys! ☺️”

“We were truly lucky to find Robert with quite short notice. From the start, the communication was excellent and he was very flexible to meet with us for a “meet and greet”, just a couple of days after we contacted him. While on holiday, Robert and his partner sent us lots of daily pictures of Jessie on her walks, playing and having lots of cuddles, which put us at ease, as it was evident that she was being very well cared for. I was quite surprised to see Jessie settling so well as she is generally shy and cautious but she felt confident quite quickly…so much that she was sleeping with them and their own doggies in their bed. 😂. She seemed so happy that I was a bit worried for that she would not want to come back to us!🙃. Robert and Patryk gave her all their love and I would not hesitate to leave Jessie with them again.”

Steven and his partner Jessie looked after our working cocker spaniel, Olive, for a week whilst we were away on holiday and they were brilliant with her. They kept us updated throughout the holiday with pictures and videos which was so reassuring and we honestly could not recommend them enough. Thank you for everything you did with her, we will definitely be coming back 🫶🏻

We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after our boy while we were away. Our lab is a bit of a nervous boy, and Victoria was incredible with him. She went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and settled. The updates were perfect and put us completely at ease. We would recommend Victoria wholeheartedly!

Eric is wonderful! I highly recommend booking with Eric, we will be booking his services again!

Tracy and Tony took great care of our little Babs. They were attentive, caring and provided frequent walks making sure all her needs were met. They even helped a usually anxious Babs become a little more sociable. Thank you Tracy and Tony for making Babs feel at home and part of your family!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
