About: Hi, we’re Harry & Dale. We’ve both grown up with dogs and, as a couple, cared for two very different personalities: Max, a high-energy Patterdale Terrier, and Molly, a gentle senior Black Labrador. That experience means we’re comfortable adapting care to suit individual dogs - from energetic walks and play to calmer routines, medication awareness, and senior needs. We’re patient, attentive, and good at reading behaviour, routines, and cues, helping dogs settle quickly and feel at home. Harry works from home most weekdays, so dogs are rarely left alone and can enjoy company, supervision, and regular comfort breaks throughout the day. Our routine is flexible, calm, and built around the dog’s usual feeding, walking, and rest schedule. Our home is relaxed, clean, and dog-friendly, with a secure garden for supervised outdoor time. We keep routines clear and consistent, follow owner instructions closely, and only take on dogs we’re confident we can care for safely and attentively. We don’t have children, and visiting family is always considered carefully around any dog in our care. Clear communication, regular updates, and your dog’s comfort and wellbeing always come first.

Our labrador Roxy, spent a week at Lucy's for the first time and was very happy and cared for. Even during the heatwave, she ensured the dogs kept cool and safe which was really important to me. I would recommend anyone to use Lucy's boarding service :)

Maria took excellent care of our dog, Rondo, for a week and a half while we were away. Not only did they accept a last minute booking, but they spoiled our boy! Rondo loved running around their fenced garden, going on walks, and getting a puppuccino. We received several pictures of Rondo playing and cuddling and cute updates of his daily activities. Would highly recommend Maria for any dog boarding needs!

About: Throughout my life, I have always had pets, especially cats. I have cared for one, two or even three cats at a time. I have also looked after friends’ cats and dogs, including a Doberman and three Boston Terriers. I genuinely love animals and understand how important it is to provide them with care, attention, and companionship. I can have pets over night, every night and on my days off, mostly Thursday and Sunday, on the days off I have lots of time to spend with little furry friends 🧡 I have secured balcony there cats can enjoy sunshine and watching birds, I love cuddling them and play with them. I love cats and have their trust

Our dog Jasper had the best time ever staying with Aaron. Throughout our time away, Aaron sent us lots of photos and updates, which gave us complete peace of mind knowing that Jasper was being so well cared for. I would highly recommend Aaron to anyone looking for a true home-from-home experience for their dog. There is plenty of secure open space for the dogs to run and play freely, and it is clear that Aaron genuinely cares about the animals in his care. Jasper loved his stay so much that he hardly wanted to leave! We will definitely be using Aaron again in the future.😊

About: I want to give your pets the best time they will have! I have had bad experiences with dog trainers and walkers and have worked in kennels working to rehabilitate dogs and I would not wish that for any dog and this motivates me to look after your pet as if they were my own! I would give them all the love and attention they need and spend my time with them in ways which they would want it as each dog is unique and have their own personalities. I have 2 dogs myself and love spending time with them. In the future I hope to have my own boarding kennel where dogs can be dogs and do what they want to do! I also have a qualification in dog grooming and can also help training of manners and day to day tasks. I do work full time working as managment within a care sector so long days keep me busy so if I will do my upmost to accomidate and would not accept to look after your pet if I could not give them what they need. I live in a home with a huge garden so there is plenty of space for them to run around. Dogs are part of the family and should be treated as such, having a puppy and older dog of my own there are toys all over. I have an up to date DBS.

About: Dogs have been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember, and quite simply, they are my world. My wife and I don't have children, so our three dogs are our fur babies and cherished members of the family. Any dog that stays with us will be treated exactly the same way, with love, patience, affection, and plenty of individual attention. We live in the countryside on a beautiful property with a secure one-acre fenced garden where dogs can safely play, explore and relax. We also have access to a six-acre field, perfect for longer walks, games and adventures. Surrounded by nature, there are endless exciting smells, sights and countryside trails to enjoy, making every walk stimulating and enjoyable for your dog. One of our own dogs is now elderly and requires daily support, medication and extra care. Because of this, I have extensive experience looking after senior dogs and those with medical needs. I understand how important routine, patience and reassurance are, and I am confident administering medication and providing the extra attention older dogs often need. Over the years, I have also owned and cared for rescue dogs with behavioural challenges. Through consistency, understanding and positive reinforcement, I have helped anxious and nervous dogs build confidence and thrive in a loving environment. In fact, people in our village affectionately call me "The Dog Whisperer" because of the bond I seem to form with dogs of all ages, breeds and personalities. I strongly believe that every dog is unique. Before your dog stays with us, I will take the time to understand their normal routine, likes, dislikes and any special requirements. If they are used to morning cuddles, evening sofa time, favourite walking routes, medication schedules or specific feeding routines, we will do our very best to replicate this. I know how reassuring consistency can be when dogs are away from home. Whether your dog loves adventures, playing in the garden, relaxing in the sunshine, getting lots of fuss and attention, or simply curling up for a cuddle, they'll be welcomed into our home as part of the family. My aim is for every dog to leave happy, relaxed and excited to come back again. What sets me apart? Large secure 1-acre fenced garden Access to a 6-acre private field for walks and exercise Experienced with senior dogs and administering medication Experience rehabilitating and caring for rescue dogs with behavioural challenges Able to maintain your dog's normal routine and preferences Plenty of one-to-one attention, affection and companionship Genuine lifelong dog lover whose dogs are treated as family "I don't just look after dogs, I welcome them into our family." 🐾❤️ My wife and I both work from home, which means there is usually someone at home throughout the day to provide companionship, attention and care. I work from home three days a week and my wife works from home two days a week, so dogs staying with us are rarely left alone and can enjoy plenty of interaction, playtime, exercise and cuddles. Our days naturally revolve around our own three dogs, with regular walks, garden time, feeding routines and lots of affection. We are happy to adapt our schedule to suit your dog's needs, whether that's longer walks, extra play sessions, medication, comfort breaks, or simply having someone nearby for reassurance. We understand that every dog is different, so we'll take the time to learn their routine and do our best to maintain it during their stay, helping them feel settled, secure and at home. We live in a peaceful countryside location with a secure, fenced one-acre garden where dogs can safely explore, play and relax. We also have access to a six-acre field, providing plenty of space for walks, exercise and enrichment in a safe environment. Our home is shared with our three friendly resident dogs who are well-socialised and love meeting new friends. One of our dogs is now elderly and prefers a quieter pace, but still enjoys being the "mother hen" of the group and is always happy to welcome and look after visiting dogs with plenty of kisses and affection. The safety and wellbeing of every dog is my top priority. I have experience caring for senior dogs, administering medication, and supporting dogs with additional needs. Having previously owned rescue dogs with behavioural challenges, I understand the importance of patience, consistency and reading canine body language. Before your dog's stay, I'll take the time to understand their routine, personality, preferences and any special requirements. Whether they love adventures, playing with other dogs, sofa cuddles or simply a quiet place to relax, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable and treated as one of the family. My promise is simple: your dog won't just be looked after, they'll be loved. 🐾❤️

We couldn’t speak highly enough of Sarah. The level of care Sarah and Martin provide for Jaffa Cake is second to none. They go out of their way to make Jaffa feel at home, taking him on lovely walks and trips. Jaffa loves staying with Sarah and Martin so much that he is reluctant to come home!!! Just perfect.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
