Big thanks to Rory, Hannah and Basil for looking after Teddy our Lab. I cannot recommend Lucy highly enough! I was in a complete panic when my originally booked pet sitter cancelled just one day before my trip. In that moment of desperation, Lucy stepped in to help care for my dog, Ginger. Lucy is absolutely wonderful and truly loves animals. She took such great care of Ginger and was incredibly responsible, providing regular updates that gave me total peace of mind throughout my journey. I will definitely be reaching out to Lucy again whenever I need someone to look after Ginger. If you are looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter, Lucy is the one!

She was reliable, caring, and made sure Wicket was well looked after while I was away, which gave me real peace of mind. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive dog sitter, and I will definitely be using her again in the future.

We've used Mariia to board our two male Staffies twice now, and she's become someone whom we can fully trust with them. Being male Staffies, they are quite strong/powerful but Mariia is very much used to walking two powerful dogs by herself. They get to go for walks in her local park, which is different environment to our usual routes at home and more stimulating for them. She always keeps us updated with photos while they're in her care. We would definitely recommend her and use her services again in future.

What a special person Sue is! Our dog Rolo is very anxious and reactive and so before we booked for Sue to have him for a week, we sorted an overnight trial. We had never left him before. Rolo was very happy and went straight in to play and was settled - until bed time when he howled during the night. However, Sue was amazing with him, reassuring and kind enough to have another go at a trial run… see next review :)

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with a passion for providing the best care possible for our furry friends. Four years ago, I welcomed my first "fur child" into my life—a playful spaniel who keeps me on my toes! Since then, I’ve put a lot of time and effort into learning how to be a responsible and loving owner, and I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve also been lucky to spend time around dogs and horses over the years, which has deepened my appreciation for animals and their unique personalities. While our home is best suited for small to medium-sized dogs, any animal I look after must be friendly and comfortable with an energetic and playful spaniel. I’m all about tailoring my care to suit your pet’s individual needs. I’ll listen carefully to your guidance, follow routines, and make sure your furry friend feels safe, loved, and happy. Whether it’s extra cuddles, playtime, or quiet companionship, I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own. I’d love to hear about your furry family member and how I can help! 😊 I currently work full time, but work from home Tuesdays and Thursdays! We see this as a perfect opportunity to dog sit and give our boy and wonderful friend to play with! Weekends are spent on engaging and exciting walks for our working spaniel. I have a fully enclosed, but small garden. We wouldn’t be able to accommodate large dogs for this reason. Our garden has a brick wall, with a gate for external access which is locked at all times. We have an open plan downstairs area. Animals will not be allowed upstairs, but will be with me in the downstairs area as I work from the kitchen table. They won’t be left alone in my care.

Mark and Katie were absolutely fantastic with our Whippet, Blue. From the start, we felt completely confident leaving her in their care. They’re warm, attentive, and clearly adore dogs, treating Blue like one of their own. We really appreciated the updates and photos, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Blue had the best time and has become best friends with Watson — it’s so lovely to see how much she enjoys being with them! She came home happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend Mark and Katie to anyone looking for amazing dog sitters.

Thank you Tania and Sebastian for looking after our 3-year old lab Zelda. She clearly enjoyed the company of your lovely dog Finley. I really appreciated that you were communicative and sent pictures and so easy to arrange things with. We met up beforehand and I could tell that you were such fun dog-loving people straight away. I felt bad to leave you with a dog that needed a daily dose of medicine but you were happy to administer and even more than that, you updated us as soon as she got better which was just amazing - thank you so very much!

Mariia took fantastic care of our 8 year old cockatoo for a week and we felt she was in safe hands. Regular walks and updates with daily photos. Treats were happily consumed and the other two dogs Mariaa looked after in the week were both small/ medium dogs of a similar breed so Molly had doggy company which she likes. 🥳⭐️

If I could give Alex 10 stars, I would! She is the loveliest, kindest most caring person and Reggie absolutely loves going for sleep overs with Auntie Alex! Reggie can be a bit wary of new people but immediately warmed to Alex which completely put me at ease leaving him over night. He has stayed over 3 times now and makes himself at home every time we arrive, he’s always so happy to see her! Alex always sends lots of updates when she takes him for lovely walks, play time and cuddles on the sofa. He always comes back super happy. I’m so glad we found Alex, thank you as always! 🤍

FAQs for Boarding - Bedford

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Bedford on Rover is £34.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 1,736 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Bedford. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
