“Excellent communication whilst she looked after our dog Buddy, we were updated continuously, with messages, pictures and even videos, Buddy returned home happy and well looked after. Will be using again for future stays and have discussed walks during working hours for Buddy. Lovely, friendly family with a nice, clean, house with access to an outdoor space and listened and asked any additional questions.”

“Luca took amazing care of my dog Milo, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Milo settled in quickly and seemed really happy and relaxed in his care. I would absolutely recommend Luca to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Milo will definitely be staying with him again!”
“Sarah and her family were excellent! Communication throughout was great. Sarah was very friendly and engaging, by sending regular messages and photos, which reassured us. Would recommend very highly!”

“Our dog xena has only been looked after by friends and family non of which are animal owners. So this was the first time xena had stayed anywhere other than home I was so worried, worried she would feel abandoned & not familiar with the new surroundings. I went away and to my horror my phone wouldn’t work so I had no communication on how she was doing. As soon as I landed home and my phone started working I received all these amazing photos & videos of xena and what an amazing time she was having with Lisa and her partner without a thought for us. I rushed to pick her up and she was so excited just as exited as I was, she has slept for the first day an a half I guess from all the excitement of all the activities she had done over the week with Lisa . I guessing there was lots of ball throwing, that’s All she seems to want to do since being home. I know she had the time of her life at Lisa’s and I would highly recommend her services. Thanks Lisa we will be in touch soon and Xena sends a big thank you. Xxx”

“When searching four someone’s suitable to watch our two dogs, we had the choice of several sitters. Lucky for us Laura was prompt in her responses so we moved forward and met with her. After meeting Laura and her dog, we knew that’s where we would like our dogs to go because you can tell her love for her pets which we hoped would continue onto ours. She kept us up-to-date with the going on of our dogs with photos and texts, she was honest if there was an issue, and again, she was prompt with replies. As long as Laura continues to pet sit, we will be using her again.”

About: I've had dogs my whole life, starting when I was just 6 years old. I'm a proud owner of three dogs: Jimmy, an 11 year old Labrador; Blue, a 9 year old German Shepherd; and Scotch, a 9 year old Cocker Spaniel. Having owned large and small breeds across very different temperaments, I understand how to handle dogs of all kinds -energetic, calm, anxious, or senior. My dogs currently live with my family, and while I miss them dearly, it's exactly why I love spending time with other people's dogs. You can trust me to treat your pet like my own. I'm currently fully available, which means I can be flexible around your schedule rather than the other way around. I'm happy to walk dogs any day of the week, mornings, afternoons, or evenings, just let me know what works best for you and your pet. Your dog's safety is my top priority on every walk. I keep dogs on lead unless in a designated off-lead area, always carry water and waste bags, and never walk more than a small group at once to ensure each dog gets proper attention. Having owned and cared for three dogs of my own: a Labrador, a German Shepherd, and a Cocker Spaniel. I'm confident and calm with dogs of all sizes and temperaments.

“Isabelle's home is spacious and open planned with garden access. Luna was free to move around and explore which helped her to settle; Isabelle has a calming nature and we felt ok leaving. Luna is a strong and determined young lady and not fully trained with street walking, so were so pleased that they managed to be out and about as she pulls a lot. I was pleased to receive timely replies to all our check in messages, especially as Luna had been fussy with her food leading up to her stay away. I would recommend Isabelle because she survived Luna! Thank you”

“Wendy is fantastic, would highly recommend. Made my nervous chihuahua feel loved from the moment he arrived. Put my mind at rest leaving him with such a lovely kind person. I received regular updates and photos. Seems like he has had wonderful time with lots of cuddles. A home from home for your dog. Thank you so much Wendy. Would use again and again.”

Obi can be quite tricky to look after as he’s an anxious dog but he is very very sweet. Millie looked after Obi very well and communicated with me that he wasn’t eating well. Millie adapted his routine which was very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend Millie.

Just picked up our labrador Roddy from a 2 night stay with Jordan. He is always very happy with Jordan and when we drop him off Roddy runs in the house without a backward glance and makes himself at home. He clearly loves spending time at Jordans which gives us enormous peace of mind.

I couldn’t be happier with the care Evija provided for my dog, Snoopy, over the 3 nights he stayed with her. She kept me updated every day with lots of pictures, which really put my mind at ease. Snoopy looked so happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. It’s obvious that Evija genuinely loves and understands dogs. She treated Snoopy with so much care and attention, and I felt completely confident leaving him with her. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. Thank you again, Evija, for taking such great care of Snoopy! 🐾

Luca took amazing care of my dog Milo, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Milo settled in quickly and seemed really happy and relaxed in his care. I would absolutely recommend Luca to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Milo will definitely be staying with him again!
We left our small dog with Nikolay while we went on a short holiday. She has many odd habits that made us nervous to leave her with someone. But Nikolay made her feel truly at home and kept us up to date with what was going on. We won't hesitate to leave her with Nikolay again. He has our full trust!

I can’t recommend Inga highly enough! She was kind enough to accept my last-minute booking request to look after my dog, Milo, and I’m so grateful she did. Throughout the entire time, she kept me updated with constant pictures, videos, and messages. Inga went above and beyond to make Milo feel comfortable and happy. He enjoyed every moment with her. On top of that, she shared valuable advice that was incredibly helpful for me as a new pet parent.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
