“Ed and Natalie looked after our spaniel Cookie while we had a 2 week holiday, and we couldn’t have asked for better sitters! They sent regular updates to us with photos about what Cookie was up to, and he seemed to have a lovely time - he settled really quickly and didn’t pine, which was our big concern. Tia’s cards to Cookie were very sweet for him to come home with. Thanks so much Ed and Natalie, we’ll definitely be in touch again!”

“Chloe looked after our cocker Link for two nights. Looks like he had a lovely time with lots of great walks and fuss. Chloe made sure to keep us updated and we had every confidence that Link was in good hands. We'd definitely recommend Chloe and I'm sure Link will be visiting again 😊”

About: I’ve wanted a dog of my own ever since I was little, and joining Rover feels like the perfect way to get my fix! For the past 2-3 years I’ve been the person family and friends turn to when their dogs need looking after - something I genuinely love doing. I’m hoping to adopt my own dog soon, and in the meantime I’d love to look after yours ☺️ I work from home most of the week and often have one or two days at the weekend free. I’m available for lunch time walks or dog sitting at weekends. I love going for long walks in the countryside nearby and having a dog for company would be a dream. I’ll always endeavour to stick to your dog’s schedule whether dog sitting in your home or mine. I don’t have any other pets so well suited for dogs who like to have all the attention! I have a very small garden that isn’t fenced so any adventurous dogs I’ll need to keep on lead for toilet breaks, but I am also only a 5 minute walk from playing fields and open countryside where they can roam off lead if you’re comfortable with that.
“As usual, Roux loved her relaxing weekend with Evie and Megan. Lots of photos and communication and we always feel happy and comfortable knowing Roux is in safe hands with her favourite people!”

“This was a return visit with Sasha and Cristina. Daisy and Bear love them and have such a great time. I don't think they wanted to come home. Thank you for the fantastic photos too.”

“We were a little nervous leaving Hugo as he'd never stayed away from home before, but Leanne made the whole experience really easy. She was very responsive, responsible, and clearly knows how to look after dogs properly. Hugo had lots of lovely long walks and plenty of attention, and it was really reassuring to see how much affection he got from Leanne's son too. We could tell he was well cared for and happy. We'll definitely be booking with Leanne again in the future and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.”

“Melinda is just the best! Our dog adores her and loves going there and she looks after him so well. I feel very comfortable leaving him there and we get lots of photos and updates. it's great being away and knowing Jeff is so well cared for. Highly recommend :)”

“Debbie looked after our dog Winston for a weekend and he had a great time. Debbie was really helpful and accommodating with drop off and pickup times, and shared updates with us throughout Winston’s stay. We highly recommend Debbie and would definitely use her again.”

“Mina took care of our spring/collie cross 4yr old over three days. A good summary is our dog did not want to leave! Mina was absolutely lovely with her throughout. Very professional and affectionate towards our dog. Plenty of exercise with quality walks and fantastic communication throughout the stay. Couldn’t ask for more and would definitely recommend.”

“Agne was absolutely brilliant with Artie. She took so much care and made Artie's time as fun as possible, especially with his new best friend Pablo. We received lots of lovely updates and felt really confident that Artie was being very well looked after. Highly recommend and definitely will be booking again!”

“Sohee was wonderful with my nervous rescue when she went for an overnight stay recently. She is very patient and calm, just what my dog needs, and kept me informed of how things were going, which was really reassuring. I will definitely book Sohee again would highly recommend her.”

“Carly looked after Oliver for 3 days. She regularly updated us throughout his stay and we had lots of lovely pictures. He clearly enjoyed his stay as didn’t really want to come home :). Thanks so much we will definitely use Carly again.”

“Shishir and Marion took great care of Alfie, from the start they saw I was anxious about leaving him with a strangers and did everything they could help reassure me, allowing me to schedule a few meetings and greets to get to know them and for them to get to know Alfie. Throughout my stay I got daily updates and pictures and felt constantly reassured he was happy whilst I was enjoying my holiday. I would book them again without a doubt and highly recommend them!”

“Frankie was absolutely delightful - super responsive and always kept me updated. I know Aggie had the best time- especially because she got to hang out with Alan. Would not hesitate booking her again!”

Victoria looked after our dog Betty this weekend and did a brilliant job. She was really communicative throughout, sending photos and updates via WhatsApp so we could see Betty was happy and settled while we were away. You could tell Betty genuinely loved being around her. Well looked after, well cared for, and total peace of mind for us as owners. We'll definitely be booking Victoria again and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter.

Feddy was so so happy to see Ross again, which says a lot about how he treats the animals in his care and how they respond to him. I felt completely at ease knowing Feddy was in such good, caring hands. He kept me updated with pictures throughout, which I really appreciated! Thanks again, Ross!

Winston has had the most amazing stay with Emma and we know that he will be well looked after which enables us to have an enjoyable holiday knowing he is loved and cared for. We were kept up to date with lots of photos and videos which showed that he had a variety of walks and had a lot of engagement with other dogs as well as humans. Emma went the extra mile to ensure in the hot weather that he was kept as cool as possible and we look forward to booking him in for another stay later in the year. Huge thanks Emma x

Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Otis. Amber was incredibly warm and personable from the moment off, she and Otis hit it off straight away. She kept me updated throughout with plenty of photos and messages, and genuinely made him feel very at home. He had lots of walks, loads of love and attention, and honestly seemed disappointed to leave when I picked him up. It’s obvious how much care Amber puts into the dogs she looks after, and I'd happily book with her again.

Caitlin was really lovely and took brilliant care of our miniature labradoodle, Artie! We received regular (and very cute) photo updates where Artie was engaged in various activities and having a great time. Artie came home after his overnight stay very happy and well looked after. Would highly recommend Caitlin!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
