“We were looking for a sitter for our two large but friendly dogs whilst we were away for two weeks. Our three criteria were that our sitter should have a range of good reviews, should be comfortable with large dogs, and should have a good size garden. We arranged a meet and greet with Emma and it was clear our dogs were immediately at home with her and her own dog and we decided Emma was a good choice. Over the two weeks we were away Emma sent numerous and frequent photos and it was obvious that not only were our two relaxed in their new environment, but also thoroughly enjoying themselves. Our only concern was that they wouldn’t want to come home again and that is the greatest compliment we can give! Another great overnight stay with Victoria. Giorgio is very comfortable with her now and clearly enjoys his time there, especially all the cuddles. This was the first time we were leaving Milo in the two years we have had him and so we were all very nervous leaving him. Emma and her family welcomed Milo into their home and we knew he was in the best place while we were away. Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Otis. Amber was incredibly warm and personable from the moment off, she and Otis hit it off straight away. She kept me updated throughout with plenty of photos and messages, and genuinely made him feel very at home. He had lots of walks, loads of love and attention, and honestly seemed disappointed to leave when I picked him up. It’s obvious how much care Amber puts into the dogs she looks after, and I'd happily book with her again.
Caitlin was really lovely and took brilliant care of our miniature labradoodle, Artie! We received regular (and very cute) photo updates where Artie was engaged in various activities and having a great time. Artie came home after his overnight stay very happy and well looked after. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
