Duck stayed here for his first Christmas and can’t thank them enough! He had a great time meeting her cats and jury is still out on her very friendly dog but think that’s a normal cat reaction 😆 had his own room to acclimatise to his new surroundings but made himself at home isn such a short amount of time. Luby was very nice and very good at communicating with daily updates, videos and photos at the end of each day. Been nice to see our boy making friends and gaining some confidence. Will definitely book again if and when needed, thanks you so much!!

When I first saw jade I knew she was the right person to care for my 5 Yr old cockerpoo. Kobe We had a great 1st greet meet where kobe explored and we got to know each other. Then jade played with kobe to get him comfortable but he would rub to her with ball but not go near at first. He stayed for a night stay after having an hours meet and greet on there own, and he really was enjoying. Jade was great loving and gentle . Giving him time and space. She kept me updated with pics and updates at times. I defo would recommend her and I will take kobe for another stay. Thanku jade.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs ever since i was little and still have two dogs now that are very loved and cared for. I love all breads of dogs and am very flexable to work around the owners needs. I am currently studying at brunel university, i only study a few days a week so my days are very flexible and i have a lot of free time to spend with your pets and to give them then love and care they need! I will respect the owners house and privacy when entering their house, unfortunately i cannot have dogs or cats where i am living as currently in student accommodation but in a couple of months i will be moved into a house with a safe and enclosed garden. I am also very organised and clean so nothing is ever left lying around!

I recently left my black Labrador with Jesse over Christmas. My first impressions as very positive as he was very quick to respond to me and immediately set up a meeting for me to visit to reassure myself before leaving her to stay. Jesse and his family were very kind and it was immediately obvious that they would look after her well and really loved dogs. When I was away Jesse sent pictures and videos to me via what's app to reassure me that she was having a lovely time. When I picked her up she seemed very happy and had clearly had a lovely time. I would not hesitate to recommend Jesse and his lovely family. Thank you so much Jesse.

We are so glad we left our dog Lola with Nitya recently when we went away for a short break. Prior to leaving Lola, we organised a meet and greet which went very well as we found that Lola straight away felt at home being with Nitya and her husband. In fact on the day of Lola’s stay, as soon as we got out of the car, she was pulling to get to Nitya’s place as quick as possible. Nitya and her husband are friendly, kind and caring and Nitya is very good at communicating promptly. Lola was super clean when we collected her and I could tell she was very happy during her stay as they gave her a soft blanket to sleep on at nap times and unknown to them Lola loves soft blankets. We will definitely book with Nitya again and I am sure Lola would love to see her again.

About: Whilst I am only just becoming fully active on Rover now thus less reviews. I have over 15 years of hands-on pet care experience and have been caring for animals since I was 15 years old. I’m comfortable working with a wide range of personalities and needs—from young, energetic dogs who love to play, to calm, independent pups, and senior dogs who require a gentler touch and extra patience. I also have experience caring for slightly anxious dogs and understand the importance of maintaining routines, providing reassurance, and creating a calm, safe environment. My approach is attentive, compassionate, and tailored to each pet, ensuring they feel secure, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I work from home during the week, this allows me to provide consistent care, check-ins, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m available for morning, afternoon and evening walks daily, and I make sure pets receive routine, exercise, and companionship. I can provide boarding or day care, walking amd basic training, giving pets plenty of time, supervision, and engagement. I have a fenced garden and a park also nearby. I drive aswell if vet appointments need to be attended. I have a small shihtzu but if a solo stay is required this is not an issue as she can stay with my family at a different location. Dont worry she's happy there too and will ensure any solo stay needs are met.

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was 14, and over the years I’ve gained extensive hands-on experience with a wide variety of breeds. Growing up in a family that loved dogs, we always had multiple pups in our home, which taught me how to care for different temperaments, sizes, and needs. From playful puppies to senior dogs, I’ve handled feeding, grooming, exercise, training, and providing lots of love and attention. This lifelong experience has given me a strong understanding of canine behavior, patience with energetic personalities, and the ability to recognize the unique needs of each dog. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or simply offering comfort and companionship, I’m dedicated to making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and cared for. I work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to dedicate time and attention to pet care. I can easily fit in daily walks, playtime, feeding, and cuddle sessions around my work schedule. Whether it’s mornings, afternoons, or evenings, I’m able to adjust to meet each dog’s needs and keep them happy and comfortable. Safety and trust are always my top priorities when caring for pets. When dogs are with me, I make sure they have a safe, pet-friendly environment with plenty of love and supervision. Walks are always on-leash, and I pay attention to each dog’s comfort level and energy needs. I treat every dog as if they were my own—giving them a secure, happy, and stress-free experience.

A massive thank you to Katy for the amazing care and love she has given and shown to my anxious, little, furry baby, Mr. Chips. Leaving your furry baby with Katy is not like leaving them with a stranger; she treats them as if they are her own furry baby, a family member. She goes above and beyond. I cannot praise her highly enough. Mr. Chips picked up an eye infection, and she quickly dealt with it, putting all minds at ease, constantly updating us with his progress throughout the day with pictures, videos, and text messages. I could go on and on and on about how wonderful this young lady is. If you are fortunate enough that she can fit you in, please book with Katy. We have tried and used many sitters over the past 20-odd years; she is by far the very best. I would like to thank you. My partner would like to thank you, Katy, and Mr. Chips most of all says thank you, and he can't wait to spend time with you again; he loves you.🥰

Lily was extremely accommodating and very professional. We have never had a sitter in our home previously and we were very nervous. Lily exceeded our expectations. She took our two dogs to the park and sent photos of our fur-babies daily whilst we were away. Her love of animals is evident by the care she showed towards our pets not to mention she was a very respectful houseguest. We recommended Lily very highly to all dog owners and will definitely rebook.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
