About: I’ve had three lovely dogs at different times over the past 30 years. Two bichon’s and up until very recently, I had a gorgeous Coton de Tulear for almost 14 years. My experience is with small to medium dogs. I have a spacious and secure garden and carpet-free flooring downstairs. I no longer have any dogs, but I would look after your dog like my own. Regular walks and feeds. Do let me know any special requirements for your dog and I will try to accommodate. I will keep your dog on the lead when taking them for walks. I want your dog to feel happy and safe, and to give you that peace of mind. I’m currently working part-time so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your dog from Thursday early evening to Sunday evening especially. Fenced and secure spacious garden. Downstairs flooring is all carpet-free so no worries about accidents. I have some foam dog steps that your dog can use to get onto the sofa etc. if this is your preference/if your dog has any joint issues. There are lovely local walks nearby to suit your dog’s energy levels.
“Nitya is super kind and professional and did an amazing job looking after my cat Tilly for a few days. She sent pictures and videos of Tilly every morning and was available if I had any questions. Tilly was sad to come home! We will definitely use Nitya again.”

“Winnie loves her regular stays with Niamh and her family. It’s a home from home and she greets everyone with lots of excitement. Niamh takes such good care of Winnie and takes her on lovely walks. Thank you! 😊”

“We cannot recommend Kim highly enough. This was Harley's first ever overnight stay away from us, so naturally we were quite nervous, especially as he is a very particular little dog with his own routines and quirks. From the moment we met them, they made us feel completely at ease. They took the time to understand Harley's routine, his fussy eating habits and his love of cuddles, and treated him as if he was one of their own. Throughout his stay they kept us updated with lovely messages and photos, which really reassured us that he was happy and settled. When we collected Harley he was calm, content and clearly very well looked after. It was obvious he had received so much love, attention and care. Knowing he was in such safe hands meant the world to us. We would not hesitate to leave Harley with Kim again and would recommend them to anyone looking for caring, attentive and genuinely lovely dog sitters. Thank you both so much for taking such wonderful care of our little boy.”

“Zoranye took such great care of Harry. I think they’ve become real friends! I was so pleased with her responsive communication and that she shared photos from every walk each day. It gave me real peace of mind. I will certainly book with her again.”

“This was our first time using Rover, and we're so glad we chose Varinder to look after Potter. Both Varinder and Josh were fantastic with our excitable Puppy, making him feel right at home from the moment he arrived. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming and accommodating, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Varinder kept us updated throughout Potter's stay with regular messages and photos, which we really appreciated. We wouldn't hesitate to use Varinder's dog sitting and boarding services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.”

“Laura updated me on my dog frequently and sent me his picture. He was on many nice walks and played with her dogs. When I came to pick him up he looked very happy. He had great time with Laura, her kids and her dogs!”

Heather was fantastic with our little dogs Luna and Poppy. They have never stayed away from home with anyone else so we were a little nervous for them but as soon as they met Heather at the meet and greet they really took to her and settled quickly. Heather sent us some pictures whilst we were away which was very reassuring. I would definitely re book and recommend Heather. Thank you so much Heather for taking great care of our little doggies.

We got to know Laura and her family before our holiday to give our Rottie Gracie a chance to know everyone and be settled as she is very nervous with strangers. It was peace of mind to know Gracie was in good hands and Laura kept us updated throughout her stay. We would highly recommend Laura. Thank you so much for taking good care of G. She been very quiet since coming home, think she is missing you all and of course Bella and Suzy.

Katy is the most fantastic dog sitter we have had for Tokyo. She has been considerate and kind consistently and I feel she goes above and beyond to provide care to our dog. She also provided regular updates and shared how much fun he was having. She offered stimulation and outstanding care to Tokyo. I am not hesitating to book again, such a peace of mind finding a great dog sitter. Thank you so much Katy, we were able to enjoy our holiday without a worry xxx

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
