“Sonia made Lola very welcome as soon as we arrived . It was a busy day with puppies and all very similar breeds so Lola had the absolute time of her life. I got a lovely video of her playing and when we picked her up her tail was wagging and she was very happy. I will definitely leave Lola with Sonia again and for an overnight stay next time .”

“A big thanks to Kelly to look after Coffee for four nights, so that we had a fab worry free holiday. Kelly is absolute kind and loving person for anyone who wants to have family like care for dogs. Thanks again. Michelle and Jerry”

“Had my dog short notice after being let down by another sitter, my dog had such a lovely time and was so happy with this lady. She has amazing space for the dogs and will definitely use again. My dog was very looked after. Thank you so much.”

“Christine looked after my 4 year old wirehaired dachshund for a couple of days, and being the first time I’ve used the app; she completely put my mind at ease. Arthur had a lovely time and was thoroughly looked after and received lots of love in Christine’s care. She provided regular updates to reassure me, took him for some lovely walks and played with him endlessly. I will certainly be using Christine again next time I need someone to look after Arthur!”

“Shivani was such a great sitter ! Coco loved his time with Shivani and Kai and came back knackered the next day from all that playing. Shivani sent me constant updates and pics of Coco having fun. Thank you !!”

“They looked after our French Bulldog for a week and did a fantastic job. Excellent communication before and during his stay. We got photo updates everyday which were so welcome and reassuring. Would not hesitate to use them again and totally recommend this family.”

“Roxy had a great time, Roberta sent me lots of photos and updates and I know she was so well looked after. You can see that Roberta loves dogs and I felt so confident leaving her there. Roxy will definitely be back thank you”

“Laura was great with my Lab girl Drama. She sent lots of pictures and videos and Drama is always happy and relaxed around her family and dogs. You can tell they enjoy having her around and she taking walks together. Looking forward to board Drama with Laura again.”

“Amy was excellent, very friendly and enthusiastic, our dog didn't hesitate going into her house, after a 10 minute meeting the day before. I will certainly leave our dog with her again.”

“Pandora was brilliant with Taco, she accommodated some last minute changes keeping him overnight and was really friendly and had great communication. She's got a really good understanding of whippets who aren't the most confident of breeds, and made sure he felt completely comfortable during his stay. Will definitely use again, thanks Pandora xx :)”

“Olivia and her partner were extremely caring for Arnie, with multiple photos per day of him looking cosy and loved. They did their very best for him given he is old and frail, and we felt secure in knowing that he was in a loving home. Olivia was very attentive to Arnie making sure she was always near by to give him love and attention. Not a negative comment from our behalf but perhaps being up a level in an apartment made it more work for Olivia and her partner than we have experienced. Given that Arnie needs to be lifted outside to pee quite frequently, it was made slightly more challenging for them to do so than just opening a back door. We sincerely thank them for all of the love, care and attention they gave to Arnie and we can recommend them to others. Also, their dog Gigi was very sweet and always posed in the photos alongside Arnie which was super cute.”

“Moose loved his stay with Jossi, he came home happy and relaxed and seemed like he had a whale of time. Communication was great, their home is lovely and very very dog friendly. Overall a wonderful experience and put me at ease knowing I had left them with such a great couple!”

“Crumble had a lovely time with Helen and her two sausage dogs! It was clear she was well looked after and give lots of TLC. They have a beautiful big garden perfect for playing in. I’m sure this won’t be the last time we use Helen to look after Crumble”

“Veena took excellent care of our cockapoo Kobe. She was very responsive and sent lots of updates during her stay. Kobe came back happy, received lots of love and was well exercised. I would not hesitate to recommend Veena to others.”

About: I’ve always had a genuine love for dogs and have hands-on experience caring for them. I recently became a foster carer, providing a safe, patient, and loving environment for dogs while they prepare for their forever homes. This has given me experience with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and needs, helping them settle into a new environment and build trust. I’m confident caring for both large and small breeds, and I particularly love bigger dogs. Through fostering, I’ve learned the importance of routine, positive reinforcement, exercise, and making each dog feel comfortable and secure. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, administering basic care, or simply providing companionship, I treat every dog as if they were my own. Dogs fit into my schedule very naturally. I plan my days around making sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship. I have a flexible routine that allows me to provide regular walks, playtime, toilet breaks, feeding, and lots of affection throughout the day. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playing games, or simply relaxing with company, I’ll make sure their individual needs are met. My priority is making every dog feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family while they’re in my care. Im available for boarding all throughout the week Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. Before they arrive, I make sure my home is clean, secure, and free from anything that could be harmful. I take time to let each dog settle in at their own pace, allowing them to explore their new surroundings without pressure. I carefully follow your instructions regarding routines, feeding, walks, and any medical or behavioural needs, as keeping familiar routines helps dogs feel safe and relaxed. I use positive reinforcement, patience, and lots of reassurance to build trust, never forcing interactions if a dog is feeling nervous. As a foster carer for dogs trust, I’ve learned that every dog is different. Some settle in straight away, while others need a little more time. I’ll always adapt to their individual needs, giving them plenty of love, attention, and a calm environment so they can feel happy, confident, and secure throughout their stay. I’ll also keep you updated with regular messages and photos, so you know your pet is safe and enjoying their time with me.
“Lovely couple. 🌟🌟🌟 Cannot recommend Lydia & James enough. We left our Springer with them for the first time for 4 days and they took such good care of our fur baby! She had the best time. Was taken on lovely daily walks, and doing her favourite thing chasing 🎾. They kept us updated with daily photos and messages which gave us peace of mind. We will definitely use them again 🐶💕 Thank you!! xx”

“We were delighted how well our cockapoo Millie was looked after. We did not want to use kennels as she prefers human company. Andrew was fantastic from start to finish showing us where Millie would stay for a week. One of our highlights each morning were the pictures and videos we received - when you see your pet running around wagging their tail you know your dog is well looked after and cared for. Certainly would recommend Andrew to anyone - your dog will be loved and very well catered for”

Sonia looked after my little anxious dog Oscar for a long weekend whilst I was away. He appears to have had a great time, ate well and enjoyed the company of Sonia's dog. She provided photos and an update whilst I was away. Oscar came home content and exhausted. All the dogs are treated as if they were Sonia's own and I will certainly book with Sonia again.
Leonie was the perfect sitter for our little dog Enzo. We normally have a family member look after him when we go away, but we were going to a wedding so had to find a sitter for the first time. We are so happy we found Leonie! She had just Enzo and no other dogs, which we needed as he’s is nervous around some dogs. He was able to sleep on the sofa, was taken for loads of lovely walks, and we got lots of updates which we really loved. Leonie also took the time to meet Enzo before his stay, which we really appreciated and was really reassuring for us. Thank you so much ♥️

I was so happy to meet Amy. She was incredibly kind, welcoming and really took the time to understand Raffie’s needs. As a dog mum to a beautiful Staffy who doesn’t always socialise well with other dogs (naughty boy! 😂), that meant a lot to me. She completely understood my concerns, reassured me, and made me feel confident that he would be well looked after. She also followed up on my request, which I really needed as I was being so hectic at the time, and that extra effort meant a lot. The grounds are beautiful, and it really has that home-away-from-home feel. When I collected him, he did have a slightly sore bottom. We talked it through, and Amy genuinely cared about it and was happy to keep an eye on it if it happened again. That gave me even more reassurance because things can happen with dogs, but what matters is knowing they’re in caring and trustworthy hands. I really do feel Raffie enjoys his time there, and I’ll definitely be using Amy again. Thank you for looking after my little one so well!

We left our very traumatized Rescue dog with Sonia - and she was wonderful with her! Sonia treated her with such sensitivity and empathy, that our dog settled in immediately. Sonia was also so good at keeping her nervous mommy informed with updates, photos and videos! We will definitely use her again!!! 😘

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
