“Thank you so much Sonia for looking after our pup for the last couple of days. Such a lovely lady with regular picture check ins. Rupert had a fabulous time! Could not recommend her enough!”

“Very happy with Laura and with Bella’s stay. Good communication and arrangements. A very tidy and clean environment with plenty of outdoor space and located close to parks. I would book again for Bella.”

“Shivani was such a great sitter ! Coco loved his time with Shivani and Kai and came back knackered the next day from all that playing. Shivani sent me constant updates and pics of Coco having fun. Thank you !!”

“Our two dogs went to stay with Christine and she was just wonderful. She respected requests as a first time stay and dud everything to help keep them cool during a heatwave! We received lots of updates and photos and Lulu and Albie came home very happy!”

“Anna and her lovely dog Luna made Maxs little holiday the best, i honestly dont think he wanted to come home. 1000% would recommend Anna, very professional and sent lots of pics and videos which was so appreciated. Thank you Anna and Luna x”

“Pandora was brilliant with Taco, she accommodated some last minute changes keeping him overnight and was really friendly and had great communication. She's got a really good understanding of whippets who aren't the most confident of breeds, and made sure he felt completely comfortable during his stay. Will definitely use again, thanks Pandora xx :)”

“We are so glad we left our dog Lola with Nitya recently when we went away for a short break. Prior to leaving Lola, we organised a meet and greet which went very well as we found that Lola straight away felt at home being with Nitya and her husband. In fact on the day of Lola’s stay, as soon as we got out of the car, she was pulling to get to Nitya’s place as quick as possible. Nitya and her husband are friendly, kind and caring and Nitya is very good at communicating promptly. Lola was super clean when we collected her and I could tell she was very happy during her stay as they gave her a soft blanket to sleep on at nap times and unknown to them Lola loves soft blankets. We will definitely book with Nitya again and I am sure Lola would love to see her again.”

“We’re so grateful to Amy and Connor for looking after Bodhi so often. He always comes home happy and tired – a clear sign of lots of playtime! He absolutely loves going to see them, which is obvious from the enthusiastic greeting he gives. And no, I’m not offended at all, lol. Honestly, it means so much to us to know that Bodhi is in such capable, caring hands, where he’s happy, comfortable, and well looked after. That means everything to us. Thank you!”

About: I have reared puppies and looked after pets all my life. Animals are my passion and bring me much joy. I have vast experience looking after other people’s pets having worked in my friend’s dog sitting franchise for many years. I've also done countless dog/cat sits with another site and have glowing testimonials which I am happy to share. Now that I'm semi retired and can work from home I can spend even more time caring for your pets. I'm extremely fit and love nothing more than going for long dog walks in parks and the countryside. I'm happy to dog sit in your house or can have small dogs at my place. I live in a maisonette with a huge park 3 seconds from my front door. I've had 2 dogs while living here and pride myself on making sure they were always kept stimulated and had at least 2 walks per day. I'm a very responsible, dependable and trustworthy person who you can rely on to look after your pets and home. I am semi retired and work for myself via my laptop. My hours are totally flexible allowing me plenty of time for pet care. I am happy to look after pets in your own home while your away or have them in my own home. I am very much a home body so your pets won’t be left alone for long periods of time. I live opposite a very large park and am also close to some beautiful countryside. Walking is one of my hobbies so your dogs will get plenty of exercise to keep them stimulated. I am in the process of doing a dog behavioural course to better understand how our furry babies operate. I’m used to looking after all sorts of dogs and cats - both large and small.
“Nicola is experienced with senior dogs which is perfect for our 15 yr old (almost!) border terrier. She understands he needs a comfortable environment in which he can pootle about! Nicola’s home & garden is perfect for this. And Ziggy had enjoyed a walk too. We felt he had been well looked after so was much appreciated.”

“Veena and her family were great with Reggie - a French bulldog - who likes his creature comforts! Excellent to deal with before the stay, and loads of pictures and videos during the stay. Would highly recommend.”

“Every time we have left Cork with Roberta, I appreciate her patience and care for dogs, as well as her great photo/video updates. Cork is anxious about a few things, but I'm confident that Roberta always provides a safe place for the dogs in her care to play and thrive while boarding. I am so glad we found her!”

“We left our 8 year old dog Oreo with Chiara for almost 10 days and she was amazing. She took very good care of him. From feeding to taking him out for regular walks to always keeping us updated. That helped in removing lot of stress that we had initially not knowing how it will go. Thank you Chiara.”

“Duck stayed here for his first Christmas and can’t thank them enough! He had a great time meeting her cats and jury is still out on her very friendly dog but think that’s a normal cat reaction 😆 had his own room to acclimatise to his new surroundings but made himself at home isn such a short amount of time. Luby was very nice and very good at communicating with daily updates, videos and photos at the end of each day. Been nice to see our boy making friends and gaining some confidence. Will definitely book again if and when needed, thanks you so much!!”

Sonia looked after my little anxious dog Oscar for a long weekend whilst I was away. He appears to have had a great time, ate well and enjoyed the company of Sonia's dog. She provided photos and an update whilst I was away. Oscar came home content and exhausted. All the dogs are treated as if they were Sonia's own and I will certainly book with Sonia again.
Leonie was the perfect sitter for our little dog Enzo. We normally have a family member look after him when we go away, but we were going to a wedding so had to find a sitter for the first time. We are so happy we found Leonie! She had just Enzo and no other dogs, which we needed as he’s is nervous around some dogs. He was able to sleep on the sofa, was taken for loads of lovely walks, and we got lots of updates which we really loved. Leonie also took the time to meet Enzo before his stay, which we really appreciated and was really reassuring for us. Thank you so much ♥️
I was so happy to meet Amy. She was incredibly kind, welcoming and really took the time to understand Raffie’s needs. As a dog mum to a beautiful Staffy who doesn’t always socialise well with other dogs (naughty boy! 😂), that meant a lot to me. She completely understood my concerns, reassured me, and made me feel confident that he would be well looked after. She also followed up on my request, which I really needed as I was being so hectic at the time, and that extra effort meant a lot. The grounds are beautiful, and it really has that home-away-from-home feel. When I collected him, he did have a slightly sore bottom. We talked it through, and Amy genuinely cared about it and was happy to keep an eye on it if it happened again. That gave me even more reassurance because things can happen with dogs, but what matters is knowing they’re in caring and trustworthy hands. I really do feel Raffie enjoys his time there, and I’ll definitely be using Amy again. Thank you for looking after my little one so well!

Millie was absolutely excellent! She is the best dog carer you could ever ask for. Thank you for the constant pictures and video updates, Millie. This wasn't a short time either, 2.5 weeks of loving care for our sweet Nahla (1.5-year-old lab); she is a lot to handle! Well done Millie. Everyone, rest assured, your dog is in the best hands possible.

We left our very traumatized Rescue dog with Sonia - and she was wonderful with her! Sonia treated her with such sensitivity and empathy, that our dog settled in immediately. Sonia was also so good at keeping her nervous mommy informed with updates, photos and videos! We will definitely use her again!!! 😘
Kelli was absolutely wonderful looking after our cavapoo! She is such a lovely, caring person, and it was clear from the start that our dog was in the best possible hands. She kept us updated every single day with photos and videos, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. Our cavapoo had the best time and clearly adored being there – tail wagging in every picture! We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will definitely be booking with Kelli again. Highly recommend!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
