“Sonia is just wonderful we would highly recommend her. She is so good with our dog and he really loves her. She has the biggest garden with so much space for the dogs to play and get exercise”

“Sykes had a glorious time at Amandeep’s. They have tons of spaces, a very caring family and very professional. Sykes was there for 10 days and when I picked him up, he looked happy, healthy and well taken care of. I would have 100% recommend.”

“Christine looked after my 4 year old wirehaired dachshund for a couple of days, and being the first time I’ve used the app; she completely put my mind at ease. Arthur had a lovely time and was thoroughly looked after and received lots of love in Christine’s care. She provided regular updates to reassure me, took him for some lovely walks and played with him endlessly. I will certainly be using Christine again next time I need someone to look after Arthur!”

“Mohitha and her family were extremely welcoming. They agreed to take my elderly greyhound at short notice. My dog was very well looked after for the two-night stay, with reassuring photo updates and messages. Many thanks again!”

“Laura updated me on my dog frequently and sent me his picture. He was on many nice walks and played with her dogs. When I came to pick him up he looked very happy. He had great time with Laura, her kids and her dogs!”

“Roberta was so wonderful! We have a very shy dog, so it was great to be able to trust that she’d be in good hands. It was also lovely getting photos of her throughout the day. We will definitely be using Roberta again!!”

“Pandora was brilliant with Taco, she accommodated some last minute changes keeping him overnight and was really friendly and had great communication. She's got a really good understanding of whippets who aren't the most confident of breeds, and made sure he felt completely comfortable during his stay. Will definitely use again, thanks Pandora xx :)”

About: I have loved taking care of animals ever since I can remember. Growing up in a home with cats/dogs really made it feel like home. I' am always looking after friends cats/dogs and are always first when they need a sitter :). I have even looked after a few reptiles in my time! My sister also works in a private 24 hours veterinary company no more than 20 minutes from my home. This means I have always been around animals and if I ever need any assistance I have professionals on hand 24 hours a day. My life circumstances have changed and now it would be great to fill up my free time doing what I love. I live in a flat with two small staircases to get to the front door. I have a a lot of green common areas right outside the flat and being in Iver, many great parks for walks. I have a small balcony but the door to this is always closed if I have pets over. The floating staircase is also caged around if there are dogs who struggle with stairs. My main concern is always their safety. Ultimately., your pet would be in great hands. I work from home 4 days a week and are free most weekends. I have a lot of free time now and would really love the company to look after animals because I think they are amazing! I live in a flat with two small staircases to get to the front door. I have a lot of green common areas right outside the flat and being in Iver, many great parks for walks. I have a small balcony but the door to this is always closed if I have pets over. The floating staircase is also caged around if there are dogs who struggle with stairs. There is a large area between my couch and TV so I usually set up the dogs beds there so they are always in my eyeline. My main concern is always their safety of your animal.
About: I’ve taken care of my sisters two French bulldogs, helping them transition into a new home as puppies and also looking after them for long periods of time. I try to help my friends with their dogs as much as possible, taking them for walks as much as I can. I work hybrid which suits dog sitting. I usually work from home Monday and Friday which means I’m available from Friday to Tuesday morning without fail. I also don’t start work until 9am so on the days I work from home I can easily take dogs for walks in the morning or evening depending on preference. My flat has a small balcony that’s gated off and is only accessible by two back doors. There is also room to accommodate a dog bed in both the bedroom and the living room and even room for a dog crate. I also live close to Richmond Park, so the dogs will be provided with walks either at the park or by the river.

“Macayla was fantastic with Stella. She made her feel like part of the family and updated us throughout the break. She treated Stella as we would and we couldn’t be happier with the care she gave to Stella. Thank you so much.”

“I had a great experience leaving my dog with Veena for the night. From the moment we arrived, it was clear she’s both kind and experienced with animals. My dog took to her quickly and seemed completely at ease in her home. Veena kept me updated throughout the evening with a few photos and messages, which was really reassuring. When I picked my dog up the next day, he was calm, happy, and clearly well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave him with Veena again. highly recommended!”

“Amy was excellent, very friendly and enthusiastic, our dog didn't hesitate going into her house, after a 10 minute meeting the day before. I will certainly leave our dog with her again.”

“Lillie is amazing at what she does! Our little Labradoodle puppy had so much fun and was really well taken care of. We loved getting all the videos during his stay! It’s clear that she has a genuine love for dogs. Thank you so much, Lillie! 🙏🐶💖”

“Reliable and attentive, Michael provided our Pluto witht the most fun both indoors and outdoors as well as tons of socialising with other dogs. We could tell Pluto had the best time in his care from the multiple updates Michael sent us. Highly recommended!”

“I can't thank Nicola enough for looking after Ada for the day! She was so well cared for, and I could tell she was happy and comfortable when I picked her up. It's such a relief to know she was in safe hands, and I really appreciate the love and attention given to her. Highly recommend Nicola to anyone looking for reliable and caring pet care!"”

Amandeep was absolutely wonderful with Dolly while we were away. So caring & considerate, with brilliant comms throughout - lots of messages, photos and videos which was reassuring. Dolly clearly had the best time… I’m not entirely sure she wanted to come home! 😂 Would absolutely recommend Amandeep and wouldn’t hesitate to leave Dolly with her again. ❤️

Leonie was the perfect sitter for our little dog Enzo. We normally have a family member look after him when we go away, but we were going to a wedding so had to find a sitter for the first time. We are so happy we found Leonie! She had just Enzo and no other dogs, which we needed as he’s is nervous around some dogs. He was able to sleep on the sofa, was taken for loads of lovely walks, and we got lots of updates which we really loved. Leonie also took the time to meet Enzo before his stay, which we really appreciated and was really reassuring for us. Thank you so much ♥️

We left our very traumatized Rescue dog with Sonia - and she was wonderful with her! Sonia treated her with such sensitivity and empathy, that our dog settled in immediately. Sonia was also so good at keeping her nervous mommy informed with updates, photos and videos! We will definitely use her again!!! 😘

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
