“Thanks Mohitha for looking after our cockapoo Cece when we were away on holidays for a few days recently. Mohitha and her wonderful family did a fantastic job in their lovely home. She ate all her food and slept all night with no problems, and returned very happy! Nadia was kind enough to drop her home as well. Thank you so much. I will definitely use Nadia again in the near and distant future!”

“From the moment that Cassie - my Lakeland trailhound - and I met Stacey and her dogs, I felt confident that Cassie was going to be in good hands. She relaxed straight away. Stacey took the trouble to buy Cassie a cooling vest to make sure she was comfortable in the extreme heat. And she was also very conscientious about sending me photos and reports about how Cassie’s getting on. And Cassie obviously enjoyed her time with Stacey and her family.”

“Katerina and her family are the perfect dog boarders. They have a huge garden for dogs to run around. I was very comfortable leaving our young German Shepherd with them, it was obvious they are dog lovers when I visited them to see if our dog would be suitable, particularly with their young children. I had updates and photos during the weekend we were away, this helped me to relax and enjoy my time away! Thank you Katerina 😊”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care my Otto boy received from Jacky! From the moment we met, it was clear how kind, attentive, and genuinely passionate Jacky is about animals. Otto settled in quickly and was treated like part of the family, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I really appreciated the regular updates, photos, and messages, it made such a difference knowing my baby was happy, relaxed, and well cared for. It’s obvious Jacky goes above and beyond, paying attention to every little detail, from routines to Otto’s individual needs. I would absolutely recommend Jacky to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog sitter. I’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Mia is always happy when I pick her up from joes. I can tell she has had a good time. Communication with Joe is good & I get updates & photos of Mia’s day. Good to have someone you trust looking after your dog, then you go away happy 😃”

“Kotchaporn was amazing, and I was very happy with the care she provided for my dog. He has separation anxiety, but she made him feel comfortable and at ease from the start. She took him on plenty of walks, sent lots of pictures and updates, and maintained great communication throughout his stay. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and made sure he was well looked after. I would definitely use Kotchaporn again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Maidenhead
From the very start Bella was settled and happy to be spending her holiday with Nargis and Doodles. We received regular updates and questions about diet and any allergies when needed. It was clear that Bella was being looked after well and that Nargis loves looking after her charges. Communication was excellent and on pick up everything was neatly packed and ready for collection. I would highly recommend.

We left Cica with Juliet for 10 days. She and her family took care of her and cuddled and loved her as if she were their own dog and part of the family. Cica was great, she was calm and spoiled. Juliet sent me updates and photos every day. We've definitely found the perfect family for Cica when we need to leave her for a few days 😊.
We immediately felt happy and reassured about leaving Max with Chloe during our week away. Chloe arranged a meet and greet beforehand which went really well. She provided updates, pictures and videos during the week and we could see how calm and comfortable Max was in her care. We will definitely ask Chloe to look after Max again and recommend her to any dog owners.

Antigoni was very attentive to our dog, she took him for many walks and kept us up to date with his activities and sent lots of photos and videos which our whole family loved viewing whilst we were away. I would highly recommend leaving your pooch in her care ☺️

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
