“Valeria, has be faboulous in looking after my 1 year old Cavapoo Milo. I always get a pic or video during the day to put my mind at ease. Milo loves his time at Valeria's home and is very playful with her dog and he always returns a happy dogo! Thanks Valeria.”

“First time using Rover for our Irish Terrier and Diane put my nerves to rest. Very responsible, warm and clearly a dog lover! When I collected my dog he looked relaxed and happy, he even went back to say goodbye! Would recommend Diane for all breeds, especially those with more personality like Irish Terriers.”

“Our girl cockerpoo had a wonderful time with her first sitter Gina. She did everything to make use feel at ease as this was new to us. Sent us photos and kept us informed - we were a little nervous because of the heat but Gina is an experienced dog owner and knows far more than us so we knew our girl was on very good hands. We will definitely be using Gina and look forward to building a long last relationship.”

“This was our first time using Rover, and we're so glad we chose Varinder to look after Potter. Both Varinder and Josh were fantastic with our excitable Puppy, making him feel right at home from the moment he arrived. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming and accommodating, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Varinder kept us updated throughout Potter's stay with regular messages and photos, which we really appreciated. We wouldn't hesitate to use Varinder's dog sitting and boarding services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.”

“My labrador Masha really enjoyed staying with Sally and her family for the day. It was her first time staying with Sally and she fitted me in at quite short notice on Boxing Day. Great communication from Sally, she replied promptly to my messages and sent me photos and updates as to how Masha was doing so I could see she was a happy dog.”

“This is the third time Raul and his family have cared for Mac and once again they treat him like he is their own. I always feel totally at ease knowing Mac is with Raul and his family and I will without question ask Raul is he can care for my dog again.”

“Harley had a wonderful time with Samantha. Communication was super easy and Samantha kept us upto date with photos throughout Harley's stay. If your dog would like a home from home full of love and fun, Samantha's is the place for you! Thanks so much! Harley can't wait to see you guys again!”

About: After nine wonderful years with our beloved Neapolitan Mastiff, we recently said goodbye to her. We’re not quite ready for another dog of our own, but we really miss having a four-legged friend around and would love to share that care and affection with other dogs. We’re a dog-loving married couple with a 9-year-old daughter, living in a house with a secure fenced garden. My husband works from home full-time and I’m also home around half of the week, so dogs staying with us will have plenty of company, attention and cuddles. We’ve recently been looking after our neighbour’s dog and have really enjoyed it, which inspired us to open our home to other dogs too. We understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone, and we’ll treat every dog staying with us as part of the family. “Pebbles only stayed with Laura and her family for a night and a day, but she was absolutely full of beans (no, not real beans) when collected her and quite clearly would have stayed longer if could. We are very happy clients and delighted to have such a professional service almost on our doorstep. [”

“I cannot thank Emily enough for taking on my 11 month old puppy at extremely short notice and looking after her for four weeks while I recovered from surgery. The twice daily updates of photos and videos reassured me that she was having the best time ever with at least two walks a day, plenty of mental stimulation, and lots of rest time and cuddles. She also got on very well with Emily’s spaniel, Willow, who was very welcoming, happy to share her toys, and is a very chilled dog. Emily and Alex, thank you so much for your kindness and care, and Millie will be looking forward to seeing you all again for any future holidays.”

“David looked after my golden retriever Jasper for a week and I am so glad I picked him! We met beforehand and he was friendly and professional and then throughout the week he kept in regular contact and Jasper was extremely well looked after! I would recommend to anyone, thank you David x”

“Where do I even begin?…..Firstly a huge thank you Rebecca for taking such good care of Barney. He has spent his first few days back with us sulking clearly missing you and Huxley. You treated him like he was your own and had lots of adventures with him. Knowing that he was with you, safe and having fun allowed us to completely relax. I would recommend highly recommended you and would love for you to take care of Barney again. Thank you again so much.”

“Julia stepped up for an emergency booking and really looked after Eddie while I was in hospital. This was a very kind act as she had not met Eddie before and gets my highest praise for prioritising our wellbeing over normal protocol. Julia is amazing and I would trust my Eddie with her anytime.”

“I was delighted when I met Mary and saw how my senior dog Tilly seemed at ease with her. I am very grateful to Mary for making Tilly feel at home and also for managing all Tilly’s needs. I was able to enjoy my holiday knowing Tilly was in safe caring hands. Thank you Mary!”

“She is a wonderful pet sitter. My dog was very well cared for. He looked happy in the photos she sent me, and when I picked him up he was in perfect condition. Her communication was always kind and caring. Highly recommended.”

About: We are a couple in our late-20s living in Surrey who love animals, especially dogs. We’d love to have a dog of our own one day, but in the meantime, we enjoy spending time caring for other people’s pets. Your dog would be looked after by both myself and Josh. Josh grew up in a household with dogs, so he has plenty of experience looking after them and understands their needs. We also regularly care for our friends’ and family’s dogs whenever we can. We look forward to welcoming your dog into our home and treating them like part of the family. Josh is at home during the day, and I work from home twice a week and both home every evening, so your dog will receive plenty of attention, companionship, and care while they’re with us. We have a fully fenced, secure garden where dogs can safely play, as well as a huge field directly opposite our home that’s perfect for walks, exercise, and playtime. We know how important it is to feel reassured while you’re away, so we’ll provide regular photo and video updates to keep you informed and let you see how much fun your dog is having.
“Such a lovely and welcoming home for my rescue dog Teddy. I had absolutely no worries with leaving him with Kim and her husband . He was treated like their own and settled straight away. This is the 2nd time Teddy has stayed with them and I cannot recommend them highly enough.”

“My chihuahua really enjoyed his stay! Bruno really put me at ease and I had no concerns leaving my little one there. They get a huge garden with plenty of space to run and exercise, which for a little dog who can be a bit reactive on walks is great! He was still tired the day after I brought him home! Can’t thank Bruno enough, would definitely leave churro there again!”
“Polite, friendly and very accommodating. Very grateful for Johanna be patient with our fairly anxious Labrador. He looks like he had a great time - highly recommend Johanna as a sitter. Best, Amy and Sam”

Erika is amazing! My little dog had such a happy time staying with her. She was always attentive to Chuck’s needs and never forgot to send me photos, which really helped us feel reassured while we were away. She is definitely a wonderful pet sitter, and I would absolutely choose her again to look after Chuck! 🐾❤️

We needed a boarder for eight days with relatively short notice. Catarina was available, and we were lucky she was. We just picked up our dog today and he seems like he had a fantastic time with her. He has his personality quirks, just like every dog, but she handled everything my dog could throw at her with the highest level of professionalism and competency. I can’t recommend Catarina highly enough!
MJ seemed to really enjoy his stay. Valeria has a lovely home and nice big garden for the dogs to explore. She was communicative and kept us updated on how well he was doing. We appreciated her extra touches - indoor camera to keep an eye on him overnight and using a tracker, just in case he managed to get out. We would definitely be happy to use her services again.

Such a lovely dog sitter. I had best experience with her. Even I could tell my dog was happy with her. She updates me every single day for his walk ,food etc. Always send me pictures. Defo. Recommend. Previously I used other different dog sitters from rover. But I found Louisa one of the best so far & main thing is my dog was happy with her. Usually I pick him from dog sitter he behave bit upset with me. But this time he was alright. Which is good sign. Thank you so much for great service. Defo. I’ll book again with Louisa.

Once again, I booked Tyler to take care of Riley while I had a short break away. Dropped off Riley on the evening of 12th and picked him up on the evening of 17th May. Received a lovely update with photos to show me how chilled and content Riley was. Since Riley had been with Tyler on two previous occasions I was very confident that he would settle and enjoy the additional company of Tyler and his family. I feel very lucky to have found someone so caring and close to home. Looking forward to Riley spending more time with Tyler in the future. Should anyone reading this be thinking about boarding their dog with Tyler, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

Anastasia and her partner were fantastic with Pippin! He can take some time to warm up but quickly felt comfortable and happy with them. She gave lots of updates and we felt great knowing he was in good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to have pippin stay with them again!

Amazing! Elysia has looked after our dog in the most caring and loving way. Not for a moment that I was worried even though my dog wasn't never left with anyone apart from friends and family. Elysia made him feel like he was home and always kept us updated about his adventures. I would 100% recommend and book again Elysia.

Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after my dog. She was amazing from the start – so friendly, easy to talk to, and really reassuring. She kept sending me loads of photos and videos, which meant so much and made me feel completely at ease. I could tell my dog was happy and well cared for the whole time. I would 100% recommend her to anyone. 💛

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
