“Sara is a five star sitter. She provided lots of updates and photos. Coco was very happy and relaxed. It was a scorcher of a weekend and Sara was very thoughtful only walking Coco early in the morning and later in the evening. I would highly recommend.”

“Liv took such good care of our two cats that they were actually sad to leave. Will definitely use Liv again for Welly and Sox. She sent regular updates and pics and communication was great!”

“A contented and tired pup is always a good sign of a great stay. This is Coco’s second time staying with Karen and I would highly recommend. A proper home from home with Karen who is always so calm, encouraging and great communication with photos of their adventures, which are always lovely to see.”

“Irina was amazing with Benji. He can usually be a little anxious in new environments, however, he felt right at home with Irina. She sent updates and photos every day while we were away, keeping us at ease.”

“Lockie had a great time with Daniela. I found Daniela to be friendly and very welcoming of my dog. Her contact was great, with regular updates. Five stars, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book him in again! Thank you ☺️”

“Charlotte looked after both our Labrador boys for two weeks, we had regular updates with pictures and the boys were genuinely happy and relaxed. We hadn’t left them for so long anywhere before, and I was initially worried how they’d react, however Charlotte’s confident and relaxed manner quickly had them settled in and we were able to focus on enjoying our holiday. Would certainly recommend and will use Charlotte again.”

“Freddie had a wonderful time with Lizzy for a few days holiday. She was so kind and caring and respectful of his needs I don’t think he wanted to come home! Highly recommended”

“Amy was fantastic, made my Labrador feel at home straight away. She kept me updated on how he was doing including some photos. First time he had stayed away outside of close family. He didnt want to leave he loved it so much!”

“We couldn't be happier with how Nick and Lucy looked after our sprocker Alvie. It is clear how much they adore dogs and they went above and beyond to make sure he felt right at home. They kept us updated throughout the stay with messages on how Alvie was settling in and sent lots of pictures, which we absolutely loved. As a spaniel owner, finding someone who truly understands the breed's energy and needs isn't easy, so it was such a relief to find sitters we could trust completely. Seeing Alvie come back happy, relaxed, and well cared for said it all. We will definitely book again! Thanks both”

About: Having been pet owners all our lives we have genuine care for pets happiness and wellbeing with a range of breeds. I’m a dog agility enthusiast with significant agility training under my belt including regular shows and competitions. We currently have a friendly 5 year old female labrador who would be around when pet sitting or walking! My partner Dan and I both manage this account so we can ensure around the clock care and responses. We’re therefore regularly walking our dog Nala and have the ability to look after your pet with as much care as we do our own. We have a fenced garden and access to lots of local parks. We have a 5 year old female labrador so the dog would have to be friendly with other dogs.
“Vera has been fantastic in looking after Ronnie and gave him plenty of walks. I’d recommend Vera to anyone looking for a dog carer who will give your dog the one to one attention they may need.”

“My dog returned happy as he’s ever been from a weeks stay with Ciaran, I was kept up to date with activities and sent better pictures than I’d ever taken of him. I think he’s an even better dog now. Nice calm location with great walks.”

“As soon as I met Shannon I knew her family would be a home from home for our Cockapoo Honey. Honey settled in beautifully and Shannon was very considerate in keeping us updated throughout the stay. She was very well looked after and we wouldn’t hesitate to contact Shannon for future, longer stays.”

“Our dog had an amazing time with Dorinda. It was reassuring to know he was being so well looked after whilst we were away. Dorinda kept us informed of what she and our dog were doing and how he was enjoying the company of other dogs. A happy dog and happy owners; we would not hesitate in recommending Dorinda and will certainly utilise her services in future.”

“Gruffi had a lovely time, I can tell because of the little updates and lovely photos I was sent, and by how utterly pooped he is since coming home! A easy and enjoyable way to ensure gruffi was well cared for while I was away, thank you Binal x”

“Sebastian took wonderful care of our dog and stayed in touch to let us know how things were going. We were very happy with the care and attention that he gave Murphy.”

“I cannot thank Emily enough for taking on my 11 month old puppy at extremely short notice and looking after her for four weeks while I recovered from surgery. The twice daily updates of photos and videos reassured me that she was having the best time ever with at least two walks a day, plenty of mental stimulation, and lots of rest time and cuddles. She also got on very well with Emily’s spaniel, Willow, who was very welcoming, happy to share her toys, and is a very chilled dog. Emily and Alex, thank you so much for your kindness and care, and Millie will be looking forward to seeing you all again for any future holidays.”

“Olivia & Ellie were absolutely amazing with Koda during his overnight stay! They catered to all of his specific needs and truly made him feel comfortable and cared for. Koda came home one very happy doggie, and it’s clear he really enjoyed himself. I would definitely book them again and highly recommend Olivia & Ellie to anyone looking for trustworthy, loving sitters.”

“Cristina takes very gentle care of my senior dog and is really helping her settle after being abandoned by her previous care giver. She sends regular and lovey updates and I would absolutely recommend Cristina”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Guildford
Jess had a great time with Sonja, her partner Magnus and her own fox red - Hunter - with whom Jess seemed to get on extremely well - she was very reluctant to leave at the end of her week’s stay! Sonya and Magnus clearly love dogs and we were confident Jess would be well cared for. Hunter is also a lovely dog and they seemed to play together really well. We had regular photos and videos sent to us, and Sonja was very responsive whenever I messaged her. We will definitely be using Sonja again!
I felt very happy leaving my dog with Freddie and her partner. Their years of experience caring for dogs was immediately evident and their home is a lovely pet friendly space. Freddie was also quick to respond and abke to help at short notice. I would not hesitate in reccomending them to others and Marley looks forward to his next stay!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
