We have used Sara many times this year and our dog is so excited when we arrive at her front door which I think is a great sign of a wonderful dog sitter! She sends lots of updates and photos which give my children great comfort when they are apart from their furry friend. Highly recommend :)

Castiel had the best time with Daniela. She was so loving and took excellent care of him. This was a trial day we booked ahead of leaving Castiel with her for 2 weeks. Daniela often shared pictures and videos with us, giving us regular updates on him and kept our mind at ease. We could see that Castiel was properly enriched and incredibly happy when we picked him up. No doubt he is going to have the best 2 weeks ahead of him boarding with Daniela.

I’m extremely grateful for leaving Simba with them. Every day they sent me photos and videos of him, along with updates about how he was doing and his behavior, which really reassured me that everything was okay. They spent lots of time playing with him, enjoying relaxed moments on the sofa, and even giving him treats just like I do at home, making Simba feel completely comfortable and loved. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact them again if I ever need someone to take care of Simba in the future.

About: Having been pet owners all our lives we have genuine care for pets happiness and wellbeing with a range of breeds. I’m a dog agility enthusiast with significant agility training under my belt including regular shows and competitions. We currently have a friendly 5 year old female labrador who would be around when pet sitting or walking! My partner Dan and I both manage this account so we can ensure around the clock care and responses. We’re therefore regularly walking our dog Nala and have the ability to look after your pet with as much care as we do our own. We have a fenced garden and access to lots of local parks. We have a 5 year old female labrador so the dog would have to be friendly with other dogs.

Karen did an excellent job with looking after Coco. Great communication throughout out with photos every day of Coco’s little holiday with her. The fact that when I picked her up, Coco kept going back for more cuddles with Karen said it all. She had clearly had a great time and I wouldn’t hesitate to have Coco stay with her again.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life and caring for them genuinely makes me happy. I previously ran my own dog walking and pet care business, where I built up a wonderful group of regular clients and their pets, many of whom stayed with me for years. Looking after animals never felt like work and it was a privilege to become part of their routine and earn their trust. I’m also a proud dog mum to two dogs of my own, so I completely understand how important it is to find someone who will care for your pets as lovingly as you do. Every animal has their own personality, routines and little quirks, and that’s what I love most. Whether your pet is a bouncy ball of energy, a nervous rescue who needs reassurance, or a senior pet who enjoys a gentler pace, I’ll adapt my care to suit them. I love getting to know each pet as an individual, so please tell me everything – their favourite treats, preferred walking routes, funny habits and what makes them happiest. The more I know, the more I can help them feel safe, relaxed and loved while you’re away. I have the flexibility to provide walks, drop-in visits and pet care around your pet’s routine, and I understand how important consistency can be. I always aim to keep things as familiar as possible, whether that’s sticking to feeding times, favourite walking routes, bedtime routines or simply making sure they get plenty of fuss and attention. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can enjoy your day or holiday knowing your furry family member is happy and well cared for! Your pet’s happiness, safety and wellbeing are always my priority. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, so I will care for them as if they were my own! I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality, routine and little quirks. The more information you can share, the better I can make their time with me feel familiar, comfortable and stress-free. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the sofa or simply a calm companion, I’ll tailor my care to their individual needs. I will always follow your instructions carefully and keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your furry family member is in safe hands.

About: I’ve been a dog owner for many years and have raised my own dog, Nelly, a cockerpoo, from a puppy. This has given me hands-on experience with all stages of dog care - training, routines, grooming needs, and understanding dog behaviour. I know how important it is to trust the person you leave your dog with. Nelly is family to me, and I’m very careful about who looks after her - which is exactly why I wanted to help other owners. I understand how hard it can be to leave your dog, and I aim to provide the kind of care and reassurance I’d want for my own. I’m patient, attentive, and calm, and I treat every dog as if they were mine. I prioritise routine, positive reinforcement, and clear communication, including regular updates and photos, so you can relax knowing your dog is safe and happy 🐾 I live on my own with my dog, Nelly, in a flat with a garden. I work from home most days of the week, which means I’m around during the day and able to give dogs regular attention, companionship, and breaks outside. My routine already revolves around dog care, including daily walks and time spent outdoors. Weekends are usually spent walking with Nelly in the Surrey Hills, so long walks, fresh air, and enrichment are a natural part of our week. Because of this setup, pet care fits seamlessly into my routine, and dogs staying with me aren’t left alone and are treated as part of the household. Your dog’s safety and comfort are always my priority. I live in a calm, dog-friendly flat with access to a garden, where dogs are supervised and cared for in a secure environment. Dogs staying with me for the day or longer will be walked at least twice daily, with regular breaks outside throughout the day. I follow each dog’s usual routine and always walk on lead unless agreed otherwise. I’m also available for dog walking and have a car, allowing me to safely transport dogs to suitable walking locations when needed. I provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your dog is safe and well cared for

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
