“Fay was an excellent Mary Poppins for our two cats. We were always excited to receive our check in information updates and pictures of them eating and playing. It was great to see how they quickly trusted her and enjoyed her visits. She was also kind enough to water some of our more needy plants. Full service! Thanks Fay”

“I had a fantastic experience with Chris and would 100% recommend him. His communication was excellent from start to finish, and he kept me updated with regular messages and lovely photos of my cat, Chilly, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. He clearly spent quality time playing with Chilly and made sure she was happy and comfortable. He was also a real lifesaver — very flexible when arranging a meet-and-greet in person beforehand, and incredibly understanding throughout the whole process. Overall, a 10/10 experience. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative cat sitter.”

“Theo is a true professional. Before finding him, I’d contacted more than five pet sitters on Pawshake and Rover, most either never replied, disappeared halfway through the chat, or, in the worst case, one I’d booked and paid for on Rover ( high review ) simply didn’t show up for the meet-and-greet she scheduled herself. No message, no explanation. I quickly realized many sitters treat this as a casual side job, and it really shows. Contacting Theo was my last resort before sending my cats to boarding, which I knew would cause them a lot of stress. Even though he’s based in another city, he responded promptly when I reached out less than two weeks before my trip. The meet-and-greet went smoothly, and his professionalism was clear from the start. I was still a bit skeptical since this was my first time hiring a sitter after so many unreliable experiences, but Theo quickly earned my trust. He was always responsive with messages, sent video updates, and discussed what’s happening with the cats throughout my trip. One of my cats is very sensitive to change, when I tried boarding him before, he stopped eating for a week.....but with Theo’s calm and experienced handling, he started eating normally again within two days, even finishing his bowl (which is rare!). I also asked Theo to take care of my bonsai while I was away, and he did so carefully. He kept the house clean as well, which I really appreciated coming home to after my trip. All in all, I’ll definitely book Theo again in the future. If you’re on the fence, don’t risk it with part-timers, hire a real professional like Theo.”

“Liv was brilliant with our six month puppy, Freyja - she sent me lovely photos during her drop in visit, responded quickly to messages and made sure Freyja got fresh air, food and fun! Thank you Liv ☺️☺️”

About: I've owned dogs since I was 7, and have been around cats from a young age as well. I am a huge animal-lover with plenty of petsitting experience. I have often looked after friends and family's pets in their absence. I am currently working full-time, but I am able to look after your furry one from 5 pm onwards on weekdays and weekends subject to availability. Happy to discuss your pet's needs and come to an arrangement! As I currently live in shared accommodation, I am only able to look after your pet in your home. I am happy to give the respective owner frequent updates, and will successfully adapt to your pet's needs by following instructions.

About: Despite not owning a dog myself, I have often taken care of my dads dog and am experienced in dog walking and sitting her. I always have had a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes and can promise your pets will be loved and taken care of with the upmost respect. I currently don’t work at all but will be returning to university in September so am very flexible for the summer and quite flexible from September onwards! I unfortunately cannot take care of your pet in my home but will give the upmost care in yours. I will follow rules and/or schedule and suggestions you make and keep your pet as loved and looked after as possible
About: Hello everyone ! I’m a third year vet student, studying Veterinary Medicine at Surrey . I have so much passion and love for animals, which is why pet sitting is an ideal part-time job for me whilst being at uni! Not only would I give your pet huge amounts of love and cuddles, but their health and wellbeing is my absolute priority whilst you’re away☺️ I can work around my uni schedule to ensure your pet isn’t left for long periods of time. I spend most days studying so having some lovely company definitely helps with the motivation 🥰 I can’t have any animals at my house (due to a unfriendly rescue dog) so I would be caring for your pet in their home. I always treat other peoples homes exactly like my own (but keeping them tidier than my bedroom !), cleaning the areas of the house I have used before I leave so it will be the same as when you left. I will follow your pets requirements for their diet/ toys they have/ treats etc when I’m looking after them.
“As usual totally reliable and great company for my aging basset hound who needed settling in and reassurance Charlie is kind , punctual, sensitive to the dogs needs and I can recommend him totally I trust him in my home and am so glad that I have found him.”

Boarding at my home in Guildford may also be available on a case-by-case basis. About: I have taken care of dogs and cats most my life and my family just loves having pets around. It will be myself taking care of your pet and I can’t wait to meet them :) I work from home and so am home all day and would usually go for the walks in the morning and sometimes the afternoon too, if your pet requires 2 walks, please let me know, I have a fenced off back yard and a lot of space in the house. I can crate your dog if needed (please provide the crate), or he/she can have full roam of the house. My dog gets on very well with other dogs, he is a neutered golden retriever.
“As usual Beth was efficient and communicative, with great empathy towards my dogs, helping to reassure them with fireworks going on in the neighbourhood. Excellent care and highly recommended. Thanks Beth!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for the past 15 years and absolutely love being around dogs! I have experience with older dogs, particularly with arthritis and am more than comfortable with their needs. I work from home full time which gives me plenty of opportunity to be around your pet. I’m also an outdoorsy person so very happy to be taking your pet for walks as often as they require them. I have a fenced garden and patio doors leading straight outside for your pet to play outside as much as they like. I live in a large house with room for your pet to have their own space and feel at home.
“Alycia was really helpful with looking after my dog at short notice. She put my dog at ease even though it was their first time meeting and she was lovely with him which was really appreciated. I got some great pictures and update on how the visit went. Thank you!”

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Guildford
Alicia is amazing, she looked after my two cats really well while we were away. She send me updates and pictures daily (the cutest pics ever) and sat with both of them everyday. Alicia is very caring with cats, trustworthy and a lovely person. I would highly recommend!
Manuel is an excellent care giver. Upon meeting him, we found him to be very personable and likeable. He took the time to ask questions and go through Pepper's routine with us before the booking. Clearly an experienced cat owner who really cares about a pet's wellbeing. Manuel kept us thoroughly up-to-date on her status and activities. We couldn't ask for a better service and we will be booking him again in future. Thank you Manuel.

Anastasia was amazing! She looked after our cat so well. During an extremely hot weather period she really thought about how to make our cat as comfortable as possible. We have had many cat sitters and Anastasia was 2nd to none! Would 100% recommend! Thankyou so much 😻

Navania is a very lovely young lady. She looked after our shy cat Katie for 3 weeks. After the first week Katie started to trust her and came out of hiding for her food strokes and play. We would not hesitate to book her for future cat visits. She did everything expected and more.and sent lots of photos. we cannot recommend her highly enough.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
