About: I have taken care of dogs and cats most my life and my family just loves having pets around. It will be myself taking care of your pet and I can’t wait to meet them :) I work from home and so am home all day and would usually go for the walks in the morning and sometimes the afternoon too, if your pet requires 2 walks, please let me know, I have a fenced off back yard and a lot of space in the house. I can crate your dog if needed (please provide the crate), or he/she can have full roam of the house. My dog gets on very well with other dogs, he is a neutered golden retriever.

“Fay was an excellent Mary Poppins for our two cats. We were always excited to receive our check in information updates and pictures of them eating and playing. It was great to see how they quickly trusted her and enjoyed her visits. She was also kind enough to water some of our more needy plants. Full service! Thanks Fay”

About: After years of begging my parents, we finally got our golden retriever Arlo in 2021. I spent the first few months with him at home, working on training and obedience skills. Now that I live away from my parents, I miss having a dog at home. I am unable to have a dog of my own due to work commitments and my current tenancy so I would love the opportunity to look after a dog at the weekends. I work full time, mostly in the office but will be available on weekends (Friday night- Sunday night) and then potentially some week nights too I have a large fenced garden and a huge park nearby to the house for lots of walks if necessary. happy to accommodate all needs

About: I have experience caring for both dogs and cats and have owned pets myself. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and understand the importance of patience, routine and making pets feel safe and comfortable. I also have experience working in childcare, which has strengthened my responsibility, attentiveness and ability to provide a caring environment. I will treat your pets as if they were my own and make sure they feel happy, comfortable and well cared for while you are away. I currently work part-time, which gives me flexibility to provide pet care throughout the week. I enjoy spending time with animals and can provide plenty of attention, playtime and companionship. I will always do my best to accommodate booking requests and keep pet owners updated with messages and photos. I live in a clean and calm one-bedroom flat in Guildford with my husband. We have access to a shared garden within our apartment complex, providing a pleasant outdoor space nearby. I do not have any pets of my own, so your pet will receive my full attention during their stay. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully regarding feeding, exercise and daily routines. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable and caring environment where pets can feel relaxed, secure and well looked after.
About: I’ve loved animals since I was a child and grew up with a dog of my own. My friends and neighbours have always had dogs too, and I’ve often been the one they rely on to walk, feed and look after their pets. Over the years, I’ve gained experience with puppies, senior dogs and those needing a bit of extra care and patience. When I worked as an au pair, the families I lived with also had pets, and I helped take care of them every day. One of them even had a cat named Poliwag — he became one of my little babies! For now, I’d love to turn my passion for animals into a second job while I wait for the right time to have a pet of my own. I work full-time from home, with offices days occasionally. Since I’m home most of the time, I can easily fit pet care into my routine for walks, visits, and cuddles throughout the day. My weekends are completely free, so I have plenty of time for boarding, longer walks, or extra playtime. I always make sure pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable in their environment. Since I mostly work from home, I can keep a close eye on them and follow their routines carefully: feeding, walks, and playtime. I treat every pet as if they were my own, with patience, affection, and attention to their unique needs. Your furry friend will always be in caring hands. I also live with my friend Olivia who absolutely loves dogs, she has one of her own, so your pet will be watched over by two pairs of caring eyes, making sure they feel supported, supervised, and well-loved at all times.
About: I have always had pets as a child and now as an adult! Animals bring so much joy to life and I love my furry friends. Our beloved Labrador passed recently and we miss having a dog in the house, but aren't ready to replace yet, so I enjoy caring for other dogs whilst their owners are away! I live moments from the River Wey so your furry friend can expect a lovely walk along the river to stoke lock through to Guildford nature reserve. I work flexible hours from my office at home, which means I have plenty of time to care for your pet and make sure they get the attention they need - plenty of play, walks and food! I have a fully fenced and secure garden where there is space for your dog to be outside. Whilst I am working your dog will sit with me in my home office and provide welcome distraction from my IT role! I will walk dogs in the morning, lunchtime and evening as needed to suit your pet.
“I am very happy I found Anna. She is reliable and good at keeping me up to date with anything that may effect Nala's care, before the booking and during. I received daily photos and updates and came home to a happy kittie and clean home. I will definitely book Anna again for future kittie house sitting.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life and caring for them genuinely makes me happy. I previously ran my own dog walking and pet care business, where I built up a wonderful group of regular clients and their pets, many of whom stayed with me for years. Looking after animals never felt like work and it was a privilege to become part of their routine and earn their trust. I’m also a proud dog mum to two dogs of my own, so I completely understand how important it is to find someone who will care for your pets as lovingly as you do. Every animal has their own personality, routines and little quirks, and that’s what I love most. Whether your pet is a bouncy ball of energy, a nervous rescue who needs reassurance, or a senior pet who enjoys a gentler pace, I’ll adapt my care to suit them. I love getting to know each pet as an individual, so please tell me everything – their favourite treats, preferred walking routes, funny habits and what makes them happiest. The more I know, the more I can help them feel safe, relaxed and loved while you’re away. I have the flexibility to provide walks, drop-in visits and pet care around your pet’s routine, and I understand how important consistency can be. I always aim to keep things as familiar as possible, whether that’s sticking to feeding times, favourite walking routes, bedtime routines or simply making sure they get plenty of fuss and attention. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can enjoy your day or holiday knowing your furry family member is happy and well cared for! Your pet’s happiness, safety and wellbeing are always my priority. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, so I will care for them as if they were my own! I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality, routine and little quirks. The more information you can share, the better I can make their time with me feel familiar, comfortable and stress-free. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the sofa or simply a calm companion, I’ll tailor my care to their individual needs. I will always follow your instructions carefully and keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your furry family member is in safe hands.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Guildford
Anastasia was amazing! She looked after our cat so well. During an extremely hot weather period she really thought about how to make our cat as comfortable as possible. We have had many cat sitters and Anastasia was 2nd to none! Would 100% recommend! Thankyou so much 😻

Theo is a true professional. Before finding him, I’d contacted more than five pet sitters on Pawshake and Rover, most either never replied, disappeared halfway through the chat, or, in the worst case, one I’d booked and paid for on Rover ( high review ) simply didn’t show up for the meet-and-greet she scheduled herself. No message, no explanation. I quickly realized many sitters treat this as a casual side job, and it really shows. Contacting Theo was my last resort before sending my cats to boarding, which I knew would cause them a lot of stress. Even though he’s based in another city, he responded promptly when I reached out less than two weeks before my trip. The meet-and-greet went smoothly, and his professionalism was clear from the start. I was still a bit skeptical since this was my first time hiring a sitter after so many unreliable experiences, but Theo quickly earned my trust. He was always responsive with messages, sent video updates, and discussed what’s happening with the cats throughout my trip. One of my cats is very sensitive to change, when I tried boarding him before, he stopped eating for a week.....but with Theo’s calm and experienced handling, he started eating normally again within two days, even finishing his bowl (which is rare!). I also asked Theo to take care of my bonsai while I was away, and he did so carefully. He kept the house clean as well, which I really appreciated coming home to after my trip. All in all, I’ll definitely book Theo again in the future. If you’re on the fence, don’t risk it with part-timers, hire a real professional like Theo.

Navania is a very lovely young lady. She looked after our shy cat Katie for 3 weeks. After the first week Katie started to trust her and came out of hiding for her food strokes and play. We would not hesitate to book her for future cat visits. She did everything expected and more.and sent lots of photos. we cannot recommend her highly enough.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
