“I would highly recommend Mirranda. Both my cats are very shy around new people - so although she only saw one of them briefly (instead of hunting for them and stressing them out). She was extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. From feeding, watering and keeping on top of the litter tray.”

“Sophy was absolutely brilliant, we couldn’t have asked for a more friendly cat sitter even when Rue was being difficult with someone new in the house! We really appreciated the regular updates and photos x”

“Heather was brilliant kept us updated the whole time the dogs looked like they were having a blast 😁 we would recommend Heather to anyone looking for a drop in visit. She stepped in last minute when another canceled on us. Thank you 🙏”

“Its the second time Cleo's been looked after by Aaron. Its been great see Cleo remember Aaron and to come home to her happy and cheerful. Thanks again for looking after her while we were away!”

“Nicky was great with my cat and he was a very happy boy when we got home. Great communication and will definitely be asking Nicky to look after my boy every time we go away 😊”

“Holly was fantastic looking after our rescue puppy Stella for the evening. It was the first time we had left her with a sitter, and Holly went to great lengths to make her feel relaxed, including coming for a meet up beforehand. It was such a relief knowing we could leave our dog in safe hands! Holly will be top of the list next time we’re looking for a sitter ☺️”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life! Ex dog handler so used to all types of dogs which was all about training and looking after the dogs. I also studying animal management, including canine care at college when I was younger. Previously had cats at my family home too. I currently work shifts so I have lots of spare time when I’m not at work in the fitness industry! I love being around/working with animals especially dogs so this is perfect whilst I hopefully transition out of the fitness industry and into canine behaviour! My little French bulldog absolutely owns the house!! She sleeps where she likes and has full access to the whole house and that’s just how I like to treat other pets! They are a blessing to have with us in this life and I wouldn’t want them treated any differently!
“I am so happy I chose Lucy for cat sitter, I have never used a cat sitter before. Lucy went through lots of questions with me about what Stormi likes or dislikes and what she would do whilst I was away and vet contact details just incase, very thorough. Whilst I was away she sent me daily updates with photos, my cat looked very happy. Thank you Lucy, I will definitely be rebooking again with you for my next holiday Sophie”

About: Hello! My name is Louise and I am animal obsessed and have been for my entire life. I have pet sat since early teens and have 3 separate animal based qualifications. I am currently running a small educational animal sanctuary and a dog grooming parlour. I also compete at flyball with our own dogs. I have years of experience working with animals doing things such as pet sitting, walking and training among many other things. We have 3 children who also adore animals and are turing into great little helpers and trainers in their own right. Animals in our care are looked after as our own and really become part of the family. We love taking any dogs in our care with us on day trips and some even enjoy coming camping with us in the caravan when we go to dog events. A little holiday of their own! Most of the income we make from pet sitting goes straight back into our animal sanctuary to help us care for our rescues, so its all for a good cause! Your dog will become part of the family, joining us for animal sanctuary duties, dog walks, going to the grooming room and more. They can join us at flyball in the caravan where they will be utterly spoilt. We are happy to care for a wide range of animals and have knowledge from dogs to guineapigs, to parrots and snakes we do it all. We work with the animals and their personalities having cared for very nervous and reactive dogs to the cuddliest rabbits you have ever met. We work with them all and my knowledge and qualifications in animal behaviour are invaluable!
“Thank you for looking after our little boy. He seemed really happy and chilled when we got home. No issues at all, more than happy to recommend you to others too. Thank you.”

About: I started dog walking as a teenager and have always grown up around pets. I am now a cat-dad to two British Shorthairs. I love meeting all animals and can't wait to meet your pets! I am an insured pet sitter. I am fully self-employed and work remotely from home so I am often available at short notice. My wife is able to look after our own cats should I be needed to house sit for long periods of time for your pets. I appreciate very clear instructions. I always prefer to err on the side of caution and will take safety extremely seriously. I am happy to do meet & greets if it means getting the chance to have a thorough understanding of your pet's specific needs.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats my whole life, I grew up with animals and have a special place for them in my heart, I have taken care of friends/family's animals so I’m well experienced with other animals that aren’t used to me! I currently don’t have a set job so I am always available to take care of your animals! I am very flexible and can help you whenever you need. My cats always have access to the outside, however my kitten has to stay in, my dog has the garden to roam around in and has daily walks, I also keep a litter tray in the house that I also clean daily and water bowls in every room!

“Emma was a lovely visitor for Mabel. She came to the house to meet Mabel and to see where food etc were kept. Emma is really friendly and Mabel loved her! She texted with pictures and updates. I can really recommend Emma as a sitter.”

About: I have had pets of all kinds my whole life and my partner and I have just welcomed our own pup into our home- a little cockapoo called Paisley. Ever since I was a small child I have had the responsibility of cleaning and looking after fish, hamsters, Guinea pigs and rabbits. I have been a dog walker for neighbours and house sat for cats and dogs for friends and family for years as well. I know that the school holidays and the weekends are a time where lots of families struggle to get away or have days out because of pet care so I want to offer a solution, as a teacher who loves animals. I am currently working part time and mostly from home in a job where I get to choose my hours so would love to help however I can :) We have one pet- Paisley- who is very friendly and good with dogs of lots of breeds, I would recommend our pups meeting before the booked service though to ensure they get along- and we have no children. We have a garden with high fences and when we have dog sat in our home the dogs have been happy and content here. I am used to walking dogs both on and off the lead, whatever your preference, and my house is a short walk away from a lovely park. If your dog is happy to be in the car, there are lots of woodland walks and fields to explore very nearby. As a fellow dog owner, I understand the importance of having confidence in who would be looking after your fur baby and so I am happy to follow any rules or routines that you have in pace with your dog at home to ensure you, and your dog, are happy and comfortable.
“Jess came for a drop in session while myself and hubby were out for the day. Great communication throughout the booking process and looking at the photos she sent through, Dotty and Marey had a great time with her playing in the garden!! Thanks Jess, hoping we can book you in again in the near future! xx”

About: I’ve spent the last 10-15 years looking after my own dogs, studying dog behaviour, and helping friends and family with their pet care. In advance of setting up my own behaviourist business I love helping out local people with their dogs whether it’s dog walks, drop ins, or spending the day with me and my two friendly Finnish Lapphunds. I work a mixture of part time and freelance, all remotely, as I build up my dog training business, so I am fairly flexible when it comes to availability. I am an experienced dog owner and have my dog training qualifications. I can walk with longlines or leads where required. My own dog is very sociable.
About: Welcome to Sparkes Doggie Duties! We are Sophie and Joshua - We require a meet and greet in our home prior to accepting any boarders Or day care, this allows you to see where your fur baby will be cared for and introduce your dogs to mine (I have 2 with details listed below) I have grown up around all breeds from small to large; specifically German shepherds, spaniels, Shih tzu’s and labs. My parents also run a dog rescue out in Spain which I often go and support and carry out UK Home check for. All dogs of shape and size welcome. I absolutely adore pets and know when you go away, if anything like me you just hope they are having fun and don’t think you’ve left them! It is my job to ensure they are happy and healthy, keep you updated and make sure they feel loved and cared until your return. I work full time from home so there is always someone for cuddles and attention, Any questions please feel free to ask we would be happy to help. I have an enclosed large fenced garden with lots of woodland and paths to go on lovely walks. They will be walked daily or twice daily dependant on your routine and have access to the garden when they need. All our pets are allowed upstairs, on the sofa and on the bed. Again if you prefer dogs not to go On furniture we will honour what they are used to! Under the stairs we have doggy pillows, blankets and beds so they can take themselves off for some peace and quiet should they wish. Before you leave your furry friend with us as I have dogs on my own I would like to introduce my dogs to yours and get them used to the environment and me. My shepherd can be a bit ‘barky’ at first meeting new dogs as she had a bad experience when younger but after 5 minutes she is fine and running round playing she loves other dogs to play with as my elder dog would rather sleep!

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Rushmoor
Char was great. She got stuck in with my nervous cat from day one and had him taking treats and playing - a minor miracle for my old house cat when he comes across a stranger! I was worried about leaving him to go away this year as he is getting older and stresses more and more when I leave him but Char was brilliant. I would definitely recommend Char and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again for my next holiday.
I would highly recommend Mirranda. Both my cats are very shy around new people - so although she only saw one of them briefly (instead of hunting for them and stressing them out). She was extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. From feeding, watering and keeping on top of the litter tray.

Emma looked after my kittens beautifully. They are difficult and a bit naughty but I felt like they were safe with her. She kept me informed of how they were doing, and they were safe and happy when we got back. I highly recommend her. Thank you again Emma!

Holly is incredible!!! Warm, kind, caring, reliable, I simply could not ask for better care for Filemon. I am beyond grateful that Holly agreed to care for Filemon during my family visit abroad. We are simply to lucky to find her! Filemon was safe, relaxed, happy, cuddled, Holly sent us visit cards and photos absolutely fantastic.

Sophy was absolutely fantastic with my cat while we were away for 10 days! We have a shy girl but Sophy made sure to be gentle and patient with her the whole time whilst ensuring all her needs were met and I got in-depth updates with photos/videos after each and every visit. I would 100% recommend!!!

Becca was amazing, we’ll definitely be booking with her again. We have two rescue cats with very different personalities and they both instantly took to Becca. Our very affectionate cat had plenty of cuddles, and our nervy boy was calm and curious, where normally he would flee if there was someone new in the house. Made us feel very at ease that the boys were so well looked after and happy! Thank you Becca!

Thank you so much, Nicky, for your services. You were very careful and loving with my babies 🥰 I arrived home and found them healthy and happy!! I would also like to mention the care you gave to my cat, Balu, who normally does not like contact with people, but with you I noticed that he was always nearby!! I am very satisfied and will definitely be using your services again. Thank you

Natalie and her partner were amazing with our cat Tigger whilst we were away. You can tell they both really love cats and genuinely cared, staying to cuddle him not just dropping in to feed him. I would highly recommended, really nice people and made the experience so stress free and easy x
Karen was a great find, reliable, friendly and totally trustworthy. She took great care of Dotty and spent time making her feel happy and relaxed. I got regular updates and pictures which I very much appreciated. I am so impressed that I would have no hesitation in recommending her.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
