“This was Bella's first time away from home so I was more than a little anxious. Ken sent photos and positive updates everyday. Bella has a first time at the beach. A first time sharing doggy ice cream and a first time at a water fall. She came back to me happy, clean and a little more confident. Thank you Ken”

“We had been using the same sitter since my dog as a puppy, he’s now 11. So was rather anxious to leave our dog with someone new. Sally was so reassuring and confident that it put my mind at ease. He settled in well and I could relax knowing that he was being well looked after. Thank you Sally.”

“We’re so grateful for Chriszl and her fam for taking care of Shaggy over the weekend. I’ve got constant updates on what’s going on with Shaggy as well, and we really appreciate it. Also, we’re happy that Shaggy gets to play with Twinkle too who’s lovely and energetic 🫶🏻”

“Sebastian took wonderful care of our dog and stayed in touch to let us know how things were going. We were very happy with the care and attention that he gave Murphy.”

About: Hello, I’m Marta - a caring, reliable dog lover offering a loving home-from-home environment for your dog. I live with my two children, Amaya, 11, and Aiden, 13. As a family, we’ve chosen not to have a dog of our own at the moment, but we absolutely love caring for dogs and welcoming them into our home. Amaya and Aiden are kind, calm and sensible around animals, and they understand the importance of giving each dog the right mix of attention, play and space. Over the years, I’ve regularly looked after dogs for friends and family, providing plenty of love, walks, playtime, cuddles and company. After receiving such lovely feedback, I decided to offer dog-sitting to other owners who want to feel completely reassured while they’re away. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs, so I always take the time to make sure they feel safe, settled and well cared for. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playing in the garden, or simply relaxing with company, we’ll do our best to make them feel part of the family. I pride myself on being reliable, responsible and attentive, and I’m always happy to send regular updates, photos and videos so you can relax knowing your dog is happy. We look forward to meeting you and your dog, and giving them a warm, loving place to stay. I'm self-employed and most of the time I work from home arranging my own time table therefore will have time to attend to your dog's needs and continue with your routine. The house is located on the non drive through road and set back from the road. Garden is fully fenced with tall trees providing plenty of shede during summer days. I'm happy for you to visit the house before committing and meet me and my children. And we would love to meet you and your four legged friend. We work with one family where me and my children stay at their property while they are away and look-after the dogs in their home environment.
“Giuliana was absolutely brilliant with Moose! We were very nervous about leaving her as she is still quite young but Giuliana followed all our instructions and gave daily updates with photos and videos. We would highly recommend Giuliana to anyone with a four legged friend. We'll definitely use Giuliana again in the future. Thank you!”

“Toby had a great time. This was his second booking with Audrey and stayed for just over a week. Audrey is lovely and kept us updated throughout our holiday to put our minds at ease. Definitely recommend Audrey and would use her again.”

“It was the first time i had ever left my little chap with someone i didn't know and i was extremely nervous about it! But as soon as i met Ayee, i knew he was in safe hands. She is kind and has a very relaxed and gentle way about her. She sent daily texts with photos of his walks, playtime and his new friends, which made me feel i wasn't far away from him. She even groomed and bathed him for me, so he was a fluffy and white when i came to collect him! He returned home relaxed and happy and I couldn't recommend Ayee more highly!!!”

“I used this service for the first time as I needed overnight boarding for my Collie and having never been away from home with people he doesn't know, I was nervous for him and Sam, the boarder host. Need not have worried. He was happy, walked and looked after. Received updates and photos. Would use again if I ever needed to!”

“We are so pleased we found Dalia on this app, just picked up our Jack Russell from an over night stay with Dalia and he didn’t want to leave. Great to have lots of updates and photos during his stay. More than happy to recommend and we will be back.”

“Im really please to have been able to book with Katharina, Luna seemed to enjoy her stay overnight. Katharina took really good care of Luna who managed to cut her leg a week before her stay. She sorted out Lunas medication, and was happy to deal with the agony of the cone of shame, so I am super grateful for the excellent care received this weekend. We will be very happy to use Katharina's services again! Thank you!”

“Serena was amazing with my labrador luna while i was on holiday. Luna had soo much fun in fields and forests plenty of photo and videos that made me giggle at my dog, luna deffinatly had a brilliant time and cant thank Serena enough will 100% be back 😊”

“Kia was amazing, as she has been with every other time we've left our nervous dog with her. I almost don't want to leave a good review because she'll be less likely to be available! Between her and and Aiden they're fantastic dog sitters, your pets will be well looked after.”

“Kirsty and her family where amazing. Communication was brilliant, very attentive and patient with our little terror terrier 😆 Moo loved his holiday away from us. Would have no hesitation using Kirsty again in the future, Thanks Kirsty!”

Ayee was amazing, it was the first time leaving our 1 year old puppy and we were all very nervous but Ayee looked after her like she was her own, we were worried by the end of her stay she wouldnt't want to come home!! We got regular updates and photos and she even bought her a lovely little outfit. I can not recommend her highly enough and we will be back. Thankyou Ayee!

Christina had Sandy for just shy of a week. It was a challenging week with +40 degree heat, but she looked after Sandy so well, walking her really early and really late so she was comfortable. She settled in very quickly and loved her time with Christina and her family.

Milana, her partner and Barley are absolutely lovely. They made my dog feel at ease, especially as it was her first time away from us and kept us updated in this regard. I would highly recommend this young couple and am so grateful they were there to look after our Lola.
After nearly a year of retirement, my husband and I had not been able to go abroad because we simply didn’t have anyone we trusted to look after our two-year-old Labrador. We are absolutely delighted to have found Gill. From the moment we met her, everything just felt right. Our dog had the most wonderful time with her, and much to my surprise, I didn’t worry about him at all while we were away. Gill kept us updated with lovely photos and messages, and when she took him out, she even used a tracker for extra peace of mind, which we really appreciated. It’s clear how much she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after, and we cannot thank her enough. Thanks to Gill, we can finally look forward to booking our first holiday in retirement with complete confidence. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy and professional dog sitter.

Wilfy had a lovely stay with Casey and Callum whilst we went away on holiday. I was quite nervous to leave him with anyone else for a long period of time but was so reassured by all of the photo and video updates! They took great care of Wilf and it was clear he had a brilliant time. Thank you!!

This was a repeat stay for our dog, Ava, because of the excellent care given. As it was extremely hot weather, Millie contacted me to reassure me that she had a fan and had planned an early walk. She kept a close eye on Ava, keeping her out of the direct sun. Millie offered to walk our dog early on the morning of collection to avoid the heat. This was really appreciated! Thank you.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
