“This was our first time leaving our dog Jude with Andy and his partner Kadie and we’re so happy to have found two such lovely people to look after Jude. Andy and Kadie were happy to do a meet and greet with Jude beforehand and their love for dogs was clear to see. Jude was comfortable with them straight away and they were wonderful with him. Communication to arrange the stay was fab and they kindly sent us messages and pictures during the stay which was really reassuring. We’d 100% leave Jude with Andy and Kadie again and recommend them to anyone. Such genuine lovely people and Jude thinks they are pawsome too! 🐾 🐶 Thanks Andy and Kadie and hope to see you again soon!”

“We have asked Georgie and Noah to look after Wilbur a couple of times now and they have been fantastic! He’s an old boy with some complex needs but they do such a wonderful job of looking after him and keeping us in the loop. We would 100% recommend them.”
“Jo has just looked after our 2 little dogs for 3 nights at short notice. She kept us updated regularly with photos and our little ones absolutely loved her! We shall certainly be using Jo again.Thankyou Jo🤗”

“🐾 We are so grateful for the amazing care given to our dog Quattro. This was actually the second time we trusted Terence to look after him (the first being nearly two weeks last August), and once again the experience was outstanding. From the very beginning, communication was excellent and we felt completely reassured leaving Quattro in such kind and capable hands. He was looked after with so much love and attention, and it was clear he was happy, safe, and treated like part of the family. The regular updates really put our minds at ease. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would wholeheartedly recommend Terence to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring. Thank you so much for taking such great care of Quattro again! 🐾”

“Gatsby had an amazing weekend with Alysha and family. A wonderful family: caring and thoughtful, as well as flexible and plenty of communication. Hope to use these wonderful sitters again!”

About: Hello! I’m a passionate dog lover who understands just how much our pets mean to us. Last year I sadly lost my beloved Cane Corso, who was a huge part of our family. While I’m not quite ready to welcome another dog permanently just yet, I would love the opportunity to care for and spend time with other dogs until the time feels right to rescue again. I have experience caring for large breeds as well as dogs with different personalities and needs. I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone who will treat them as if they were their own, and that’s exactly the level of care and attention I provide. I live in a loving family home with my 2-year-old son, who has grown up around dogs and is extremely dog-savvy, gentle, and respectful of animals. For everyone’s safety and comfort, I do ask that any dogs staying with us have had some previous positive interaction with children and are comfortable being around them. We enjoy long dog walks in the woods on a weekend together. I am happy to follow your dog’s usual routine, whether that involves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the sofa, medication, or simply lots of companionship. I understand that every dog is different and will always take the time to learn about their individual needs and preferences. For the health and wellbeing of all pets in my care, I only accept vaccinated dogs. I am also happy to provide regular updates and photos throughout your dog’s stay so you can relax knowing they are safe, happy, and well looked after. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I am a stay-at-home mum, which means I am home for the majority of the day and can provide plenty of company, supervision, and attention to the dogs in my care. Most of our days are spent at home or in the garden, giving dogs lots of opportunities to play, relax, and be part of family life. My son and I attend a class on Monday mornings and another on Saturday mornings, but we are rarely away from home for more than an hour at a time. Outside of that, we spend most of our time at home. If we do pop out for a coffee, walk, or family outing, I am happy to bring dogs along where appropriate and if they enjoy being out and about. This means your dog will receive lots of companionship throughout the day and will never be left alone for extended periods. I provide a safe, loving family environment where dogs are treated as part of the family. Our home has a secure enclosed garden, and dogs will have access to plenty of supervised playtime, exercise, rest, and affection throughout the day. Having previously owned a Cane Corso, I am experienced with large breeds and understand the importance of routine, consistency, and positive handling. Following the loss of my beloved dog, I have chosen to open my home to other dogs while I take time before rescuing again. I have a gentle and dog-savvy 2-year-old son who has grown up around dogs and understands how to interact with them respectfully. For this reason, I ask that dogs staying with us have had some previous positive experience with children and are comfortable in a family home environment. I only accept vaccinated dogs and will always follow owners’ instructions regarding feeding, exercise, medication, sleeping arrangements, and any special requirements. I am also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can enjoy peace of mind while your dog is in my care.
“It was a joy leaving Jojo with Jessica who clearly loves dogs and is a thoughtful and considerate dog sitter. We felt reassured at all times, both from meeting Jessica and through plenty of picture updates during her overnight stay, that Jojo was looked after well and having a good time. I would highly recommend Jessica and will be booking again when we need a sitter.”

“Giuliana was absolutely brilliant with Moose! We were very nervous about leaving her as she is still quite young but Giuliana followed all our instructions and gave daily updates with photos and videos. We would highly recommend Giuliana to anyone with a four legged friend. We'll definitely use Giuliana again in the future. Thank you!”

“We have left Tui with Anna on three occasions so far and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. She provided our little dog who prefers a calm environment with top notch care and attention. Anna sent us regular updates, which we so appreciated, and we picked up a settled little dog who has been very happy to go back on return visits to Anna.”

“We couldn’t recommend Lucy and Nick highly enough - they were responsive, sent us photos, kept us updated and were lovely to deal with. It was so nice feeling that Norman was being well looked after whilst we were away. Thank you.”

“Ellie and Ed are the best sitters! They took great care of my nervous whippet boy and I was surprised to see how quickly he settled! He also had a great time playing with their pup. Would highly recommend and will definitely be using again. Thanks so much”

“Anna and Izzi have been absolutely wonderful with Rosie. They took such kind and attentive care of her, and it’s clear how much they genuinely enjoy having her around. I loved seeing how they took her to different places and gave her little adventures, it really means a lot. They never left her alone and kept me reassured throughout, which made a huge difference. I felt completely at ease and was able to relax while travelling, knowing Rosie was in such safe and caring hands. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone, and I’d be very happy for Rosie to stay with them again.”

About: Always had dogs in the family and have 2 of my own. Comfortable home away from home experience for dogs of all ages. Surrounded by beautiful countryside to enjoy. I work from home full time, my meetings are in a bedroom so dogs will always have company. Only have a couple of meetings a day on teams, so aLeah’s around and available for walks, toilet breaks & cuddles. I have a fully fenced back garden which is secure. Lots of beds and/or comfortable sofas to sleep on, and miles of local countryside walks to enjoy on the common.
“Florence our bearded collie spent a lovely day with Beth and Miles. She went out for walks and was made to feel very much at home during her stay and we received lovely photos during the day, Big thanks to Beth and Miles, Florence is already planning her next visit”

“Nirvana was brilliant with Pippin, got some lovely update pics and videos, Pippin obviously very happy there with lots of friends to play with, would definitely book another stay.”

“Mandi is fantastic. This is the first time we’ve ever had to leave our much loved Cavapoo in someone’s else’s care and home in the 5 years since we’ve had her as she normally comes on holiday with us or my dad house sits and looks after her. I was highly anxious about the prospect however Mandi was brilliant in providing reassurance and confidence that Milly would be well cared for, loved and ultimately safe. Milly took to Mandi straight away and throughout her stay it was obvious from the daily ‘pupdates’ that Milly was happy, content and having lots of fun. Mandi was so kind - asking all the right questions to ensure Milly would have everything she needed to feel relaxed in her home from home. Mandi invested so much time in Milly -lovely long walks, games for stimulation - even teaching her new commands and tricks. It was clear that Mandi loved and treated Milly as if she were her own. Milly has returned to us as the happy, confident girl that we left and seems unphased by her 2 weeks without us - I think she had a great time! Mandi has a huge garden in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood which is perfect. We absolutely loved receiving daily [fabulous!] photos and videos of what Milly was up to whilst we were away. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Mandi to look after your loved pet and would definitely ask her again to look after Milly. Thank you Mandi 🐶🐾💕”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Waverley
My dogs stayed with Kenny for 2 nights. They settled so quickly after I had dropped them off. Jenny took time to u see stand their individual needs, including how to support my anxious dog. When I collected the dogs, they were happy and clearly well looked after. I would definitely be approaching Jenny to care for them again.

We are very grateful for Mandi looking after our sprocker Spaniel for a week. She took an excellent care of our dog and sent us daily updates, which we were looking forward to every day. Our dog had a great time and we hope to be able to ask Mandi in the future again.

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
