“Another great stay. Carey gave the dogs so much TLC, fun walks and the house is sparkling. Such good communication and updates, we felt very relaxed whilst away. Thank you Carey, the dogs will see you in a few days 🥰”

“Tristan looked after our elderly dog Charlie for 2 days. He was kind and caring and made sure he understood Charlie’s specific needs and routine. We felt 100% confident leaving Charlie in Tristan’s care & can recommend him without hesitation .”

About: I work Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm so I’m available for evening visits during the week, as well as having full availability on weekends. Although due to me working in a school I have 6 weeks off for the holidays therefore I will be available throughout the 6 weeks at any time. I’ll always make sure your cat is fed, comfortable and given plenty of attention while keeping to their usual routine as closely as possible. I’m reliable, organised and committed to providing your cat with the best care while you’re away. Your cat’s safety and wellbeing will always be my top priority. I’ll make sure they’re cared for in the comfort and security of their own home, keeping doors and windows secure, following your instructions carefully and maintaining their usual routine to help them feel relaxed. I will always ensure they have fresh food and water, a clean litter tray and plenty of love and attention. You can enjoy your time away knowing your cat is in safe, caring and experienced hands.
“Liz did an amazing job taking care of Fiona! Not only did she make herself available super last minute when our other dog sitter fell through, but she agreed to house sit following a sudden injury that Fiona suffered on her left foot that meant she’d have to wear a cone and keep out of grass and dirty. Liz sent us daily updates and pictures, and administered medication to Fiona with care. When we arrived back from our holiday, Fiona’s wound looked very clean and was healing nicely. Liz also kindly put the sheets in the wash and even replaced our milk. I would recommend Liz to anyone who needs a calm, compassionate, and trustworthy dog sitter. I’m so grateful to her for answering our call for help and treating Fiona with so much kindness.”

“Nigel was excellent - we returned to happy animals and a spotless house! Fairly last minute, our dog had to go onto a complex medical regime that Nigel was unphased by and we were very grateful. Will use again in future!”

“Beatrice was wonderful! She took such great care of our 2 dogs- 1 of which has some special needs. She is great with communication and helped ease my anxiety with regular updates and photos.”

“Thank you Jane for everything you did for Rudy, Frank, Teddy and all the fish. I was nervous leaving Rudy for the first time but I needn’t have. I could tell he had the best time with you. As soon as we met I felt incredibly reassured. Your stay was during a period of extreme heat and we really appreciate you looking after the plants and garden. It was lovely to walk through the door to all our happy animals, spotless and tidy home. Thank you for your care and dedication Rudy and the animals are looking forward to your next stay ❤️❤️”

“We have used Elin a couple of times now and can’t recommend her enough. Both Elin and her daughter are clearly dog people. Maeby was obviously very well looked after and got lots of exercise and attention. Elin is so great at sending us photo and video updates too. We’ve come back to a spotless house on both occasions, which we really appreciate. Thanks again Elin!”

About: I have had a dog since I was 4 years old for about 15 years, so have always been around them and I have helped out with family and friends dogs when needed; walking, feeding, playing etc I can house sit/have dogs at mine on weekends. Perfect for when you are going on holiday! I often have odd days in the week occasionally, which are added 2-3 weeks in advance. I have a fenced garden, the front door, the front garden and back garden are all monitored with a camera. I will play with the dogs or relax with them or take them on walks etc whatever is needed.
“Tasha took on our booking at short notice and was prepared to drive a long distance to accommodate us. She was very positive and flexible with all our needs before and during the stay. She looked after our large energetic dog and our fish during a very hot spell of weather which made things more complicated but she was always very enthusiastic, caring and showed initiative when there was an issue with a fish. Bugsy, our dog, seemed very happy and relaxed with her. She also left the house incredibly clean and tidy. Thank you very much, Tasha!”

“We had an expensive weekend x I fell &cut my head I wasn’t drunk x so we spent sat evening in A&E and stayed at home & sent Brittany home as we thought she wouldn’t want to stay with us there. So It wasn’t as planned & i can’t give full feedback but I assume when she was here all was well. She had a migraine the following morning x which she tells me she suffers with.”

About: Hi, I'm an experienced dog owner with a lifelong passion for caring for animals. Growing up on a farm surrounded by both working dogs and family pets gave me a deep understanding of dogs with all kinds of personalities, energy levels, and needs. As an adult, I've raised four dogs from playful puppies through to their senior years, so I'm comfortable with every stage of a dog's life. I'm also a paramedic, so being calm, responsible, and dependable comes naturally to me. Your dog's safety, wellbeing, and happiness will always be my priority. Although my work schedule means owning a dog full-time isn't practical right now, I'd love to spend my days off caring for yours. I offer good availability around my shifts and will always ensure your dog receives plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I live in a bungalow in Elstead with a large, fully fenced garden, giving dogs plenty of safe outdoor space to play, explore, and relax. Where I am situated offers lots of great walking trails! Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or simply a cosy place to curl up, I'll treat them as if they were one of my own. I can't wait to meet you and your four-legged family member! I am a paramedic on a shift work pattern so will update my calendar accordingly for booking. Due to the nature of shift work when I am off, I am off for usually four days and would love to spend some more time caring for animals. I usually have my mums dog on my rest days to provide daycare whilst she is at work. I have a fenced garden and great access to beautiful walks in Elstead. I live 2 minute walk away from a recreational ground and often take my family dog there for training and sniffs after walks.
About: I have owned dogs for the past ten years and cared for animals more generally since I was eight years old. As I work from home full-time I tend to have flexible availability and am able to cater to the needs of dogs that need a bit more attention, love and care. I am experienced with both puppies and senior dogs (my dog is a senior gal herself!) and love to spend time with the dogs outside— whether that be playing or relaxing in the fully-fenced garden or going on lovely walks in the Surrey Hills! I am very experienced with larger dogs but love hanging out with smaller doggos too! I work from home full-time so will have plenty of time to love on your pups! I take the dogs on walks 2-3 times a day (depending on your dog’s preferences). I have a fully fenced yard for your dogs to play in and my own 9 year old female Bernese Mountain Dog, Gwen, will be very happy to keep your dog company! She’s a very friendly and gentle girl who has been around puppies, elderly dogs, and baby and elderly humans tons too!
“Emma looked after our dog for 3 days recently and we felt he was in the safest of hands. Emma made sure she knew him and his routine before he stayed with her and then followed our instructions. Bobby had a lovely time at hers and we got plenty of pictures to proof it. We will book again!”
“Yuxi was AMAZING with my cat Magnus. She stayed at my house with him for several days, gave ample updates, tons of adorable photos, and was GREAT with instructions & communication. Yuxi is so sweet, my cat obviously loved her & my house was clean and beautiful when I arrived back home after a week. Was such a relief to be able to book such an awesome sitter pretty last minute before I was out of the country! Would and will book Yuxi again and again!”

About: Previous experience of several cats and dogs. Currently mum to a 7 year old jackawawa. Old hand-reared previous puppies when their mother abandoned them so happy with any age. I work part time so can fit in around my routine easily. I am free weekends around my children's visits. Happy to discuss any availabilities. I have experience of fenced gardens, and both crating/not crating. If needed, my dog can be a friend during your time away too and he is friendly and laid-back.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Waverley
Sarah has been fantastic from start to finish. She came round to meet us, Georgie the cat and see the house. Easy communication before, during and after the house sit. Sarah kindly sent us photos and updates on Georgie, whilst dealing with a challenging heatwave! Georgie is looking forward to spending Christmas with Sarah. 🐾
Ciara house sat and looked after our two cats, guinea pigs and fish for a week whilst we were away. The pets were well cared for and I suspect they didn’t miss us at all… She kept us updated with lovely photos of our pets and would message us promptly if she had any queries. The house was clean and tidy on our return and all our post and parcels had been safely collected. We will happily rebook Ciara next time we are away.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Waverley walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waverley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
