“Carey not only does longer stays but has been great to offer drop ins for the day also. Carey has had no issue arriving early in the morning and staying late to ensure the dogs were not left alone. As always two very relaxed and happy dogs as they have had plenty of cuddles and lots of walks. Carey is always very cautious on walks too, knowing my dogs can be reactive. I never have to worry when Carey cares for Willow and Tyson”

“Liz did an amazing job taking care of Fiona! Not only did she make herself available super last minute when our other dog sitter fell through, but she agreed to house sit following a sudden injury that Fiona suffered on her left foot that meant she’d have to wear a cone and keep out of grass and dirty. Liz sent us daily updates and pictures, and administered medication to Fiona with care. When we arrived back from our holiday, Fiona’s wound looked very clean and was healing nicely. Liz also kindly put the sheets in the wash and even replaced our milk. I would recommend Liz to anyone who needs a calm, compassionate, and trustworthy dog sitter. I’m so grateful to her for answering our call for help and treating Fiona with so much kindness.”

“Beatrice was wonderful! She took such great care of our 2 dogs- 1 of which has some special needs. She is great with communication and helped ease my anxiety with regular updates and photos.”

About: What sets me apart is a lifestyle built around reliability, adaptability, and an absolute love for the outdoors. Since 2018, I have provided structured, safe professional dog walking services alongside a fast-paced freelance career in the television industry. Working in TV means I am a professional problem-solver who excels at clear communication, strict punctuality, and handling unpredictable situations with a calm head. Because I am used to being on my feet and active all day, your dog will get an engaging, high-quality walk whether it is rain or shine. I am based right off Penfield Road, and with my own reliable vehicle, I have quick access to some fantastic local walking spots. Whether it's a structured neighborhood stroll or a high-energy adventure through the nearby woodland routes and Beaver Lodge Lands trails, I love keeping walks fresh and exciting. I understand that every dog has a unique personality and specific boundary needs. Over the last 8 years, I’ve worked with everything from high-energy pups who need a proper workout to senior dogs requiring a gentler pace. Whether your pup needs focused leash-walking reinforcement or a fast-paced trek to burn off energy, I customize my care to fit their exact routine. When you trust me with your pet, you can expect total peace of mind, detailed updates, and a very happy, well-exercised dog! Because I work as a freelancer, my schedule is incredibly dynamic and flexible. When I am booking pet care clients, they become my primary focus for the day. My routine is built around staying active and being outdoors, meaning I can easily accommodate mid-day walks, early morning check-ins, or tailored feeding schedules. I am highly communicative, so if my freelance filming blocks change, I provide owners with plenty of advance notice, but pet care seamlessly integrates into my weekly routine as a dedicated professional priority. Safety and peace of mind are my top priorities. Whether I am house sitting at your home or hosting your pet for boarding at my place, I maintain a highly secure, calm, and structured environment where your pet feels entirely safe. When pets stay with me, we utilize a secure patio space for fresh air, but the real highlight is the incredible trail options right on our doorstep for regular outdoor adventures. If I am sitting at your house, I strictly respect your space and adhere to the exact house rules, boundaries, and routines you have established. Across both services, I keep dogs securely leashed on walks and am always hyper-aware of our surroundings, using my own vehicle to access safe, trusted local trails that match your pet's energy level. My years of professional experience mean I know how to read animal body language, manage transitions smoothly, and keep you completely connected with regular updates and photos!
“Tasha did such an amazing job taking care of Neo. She kept me updated with videos and pictures and even took the time to teach him new tricks. He was so well looked after, I would 100% use Tasha again for dog boarding.”

“Nigel was excellent - we returned to happy animals and a spotless house! Fairly last minute, our dog had to go onto a complex medical regime that Nigel was unphased by and we were very grateful. Will use again in future!”

“We had an expensive weekend x I fell &cut my head I wasn’t drunk x so we spent sat evening in A&E and stayed at home & sent Brittany home as we thought she wouldn’t want to stay with us there. So It wasn’t as planned & i can’t give full feedback but I assume when she was here all was well. She had a migraine the following morning x which she tells me she suffers with.”

“It was our first time using rover as my mum and dad had always looked after our dog, so we were a bit apprehensive. I am so glad we did, as Tristan and Carey were absolutely amazing with our dog and Guinea pig and looked after our house so well. We came home to a happy dog and g.pig and a lovely clean house. I couldn’t have been happier! While we were away we received updates and photos . I felt totally confident and at ease that our animals and our house were in good care so was able to enjoy a break away without any worries. I would, without hesitation book them again and recommend them to others. Thank you guys! Hope to see you again :-)”

“Kate was brilliant, she looked after our boys for a week. We had recently lost our dog Sparky he was 10 and Jasper is nervous anyway but was especially anxious. Kate adapted to his needs 😊 we came home to a clean house and she has even washed the our bed sheets! We would highly recommend and will definitely use Kate again”

“We're so lucky to have found Jane. Our house and the cats were very well looked after, and we received lots of updates. Communication with Jane is very prompt and clear. Hopefully next time we'll have more time to chat about our mutual interests!”

“Elin was amazing with our lab Oscar. This was the first time we've left him with someone who wasn't family and he warmed to Elin and her little girl really quickly. We did a few introductory meetups which was massively helpful, and being able to keep him in his familiar environment was perfect. Elin sent me lots of updates every day which was greatly appreciated, and we never doubted our pup and house were in safe hands. Would definitely book again, thank you Elin!”

“Sam was a fantastic sitter. We left her with a large dog and two cats for a fortnight and were so impressed. Starting with her taking the trouble to drive to our home to meet us and the pets, meeting all our requests from feeding, walking, sending regular updates including photos, right the way to keeping my plants alive and ensuring our flight had landed before leaving etc. Oh and the house was left clean and tidy, it was a dream sit! A very lovely lady who I would highly recommend!”
About: I have had a dog since I was 4 years old for about 15 years, so have always been around them and I have helped out with family and friends dogs when needed; walking, feeding, playing etc I can house sit/have dogs at mine on weekends. Perfect for when you are going on holiday! I often have odd days in the week occasionally, which are added 2-3 weeks in advance. I have a fenced garden, the front door, the front garden and back garden are all monitored with a camera. I will play with the dogs or relax with them or take them on walks etc whatever is needed.
“Look no further! Yuxi is the ultimate dog sitter! Her natural love and care for animals are truly remarkable, and I feel so fortunate to have had her care for my dog during my 10-day vacation. She provided daily updates and was honest about any issues that arose. As a dog owner, leaving my furry friend with someone I didn’t know was daunting, but Yuxi was incredible. She gave me peace of mind, allowing me to fully enjoy my time away, all because I trusted her. She will always be considered part of my family! Thank you, Rover!”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Waverley
Sarah has been fantastic from start to finish. She came round to meet us, Georgie the cat and see the house. Easy communication before, during and after the house sit. Sarah kindly sent us photos and updates on Georgie, whilst dealing with a challenging heatwave! Georgie is looking forward to spending Christmas with Sarah. 🐾
Ciara house sat and looked after our two cats, guinea pigs and fish for a week whilst we were away. The pets were well cared for and I suspect they didn’t miss us at all… She kept us updated with lovely photos of our pets and would message us promptly if she had any queries. The house was clean and tidy on our return and all our post and parcels had been safely collected. We will happily rebook Ciara next time we are away.

We would highly recommend Charlotte! She took the time to come over to meet our cockapoo Roxy to get to know her beforehand and sent us plenty of updates while looking after her. Roxy instantly took to her and we felt very happy leaving her in Charlotte’s care.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Waverley walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waverley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
