“Daphne and Myrtle were really well looked after while we were away. Carey also kept in touch regularly. The house was very tidy when we returned. Myrtle hurt her paw and it was reported straight away so we could organise to see the vet the moment we got home. I would definitely recommend Carey.”

About: Hi I'm Jenny. I have a genuine affection for all animals which is why I love being on Rover and meeting lots of dogs and cats I have been a dog walker for a while now, for friends and neighbors, and have experience with a variety of breeds. (Stubborn beagles, bouncy retrievers, crazy vizslas!) I understand it can be daunting to ask someone you don't know to look after your pet which is why it's great to speak on the phone firstly and take a walk in the park to get to know you and your dog. Feel free to message me anytime with no obligation at all, I'm always available for a chat. I mostly work from home so I am flexible for 2 daily visits or 1. Dog walks can be early morning or lunchtime or in the evening in summer. If I am sitting at your house then I am comfortable to treat your dog to home enrichment as well as walks and any other needs

“Cian was amazing with Holmes. He took time to meet Holmes (and me) prior to the sit giving Holmes time to get to know him and warm up quickly. He was a great communicator and sent updates and photos throughout the sit. I would highly recommend Cian.”

About: I've been with pets around me since I was 15 years and never looked back since then. The best decision of my life is having them. They are my closest family. I and my partner Alan mostly work on different days. We both are always home as we work from home.we are mostly home with our pets so your little one can enjoy the entire day of nasty things with us. Your kids are always welcome to sit and run wherever they want, supervised. I would be happy to spoil them with love and cuddles with consent. The house is very safe and has a back yard which is fenced.
“Thank you so much to Maureen for looking after our puppy! You were so kind, easy to organise it all with and we knew the pup would be in good hands. Would happily recommend Maureen for any dog sitting needs!”

About: I’m a loving, caring and compassionate person and very trustworthy so your pets will be safe in my home or with me. I love working with dogs or cats or any animals and don’t be worried I have looked after pets before and I will make sure they are safe and looked after in my care. I will take them for long walks as well as I love to walk. And if I’m dog sitting I will make sure they that I let the dogs out in the garden and take them for walks long or short depending on what they need. I don’t mind looking after cats either as I love cats as well as dogs. I also have a car so can pick up your pets and take them to large parks and Drop them back if that’s what is needed. I have worked at a cattery before and few pet shops so I know about medication and fussy eaters. Please give me a message if you would like me to look after your little babies! I’m currently got a job where I work from home and can pick my hours, so if a walk is needed at 10 I can just choose not to work that time and do that then work or vice versa. “Sandra and Ivor looked after our 2 dogs Holly and Lulu whilst we were away for the weekend. Sandra and Ivor are really lovely people. They took the time to arrange a meet and greet with the dogs before they house sat which was very reassuring and the dogs were happy and relaxed around them straight away. Good comms received throughout the weekend and the house was clean and tidy and dogs happy when we returned. I can highly recommended them for house sitting and hope to be able to use their services again in the future.”

About: I have always loved looking after dogs or any animals. I have 2 dogs myself and a turtle. They are my world and couldn’t imagine life without them. I can work really well with pet routines and life styles. I work full time in a local nursery in Bordon but always happy to help look after animals even if it is a quick pop in visit in my break to let them outside or to feed them I will always make sure there routine works around me as well. I’ve never cared for someone else’s dog or animal in my house as I have 2 of my own dogs and it will just confuse them but I have always either stayed at that persons house or if they don’t need me to I pop over around the hours everyday to make sure that they are ok and got things that they need.
About: I’m a devoted lover of animals and will soon qualify as a veterinarian. I live in Petersfield and would love to look after your pet! I’m currently studying so my availability will vary depending on my commitments. Whenever I am available I would be delighted to look after your pet! I fully understand what is involved in caring for any pet, thanks to my many years studying veterinary medicine which has trained me for gold standard care in all animal species. When dog sitting, I will usually spend a long time introducing myself to them, making sure they are comfortable with my presence and allowing them to approach me if they wish. I will walk dogs every 4 hours, unless their individual need require otherwise. For cats, I tend to be much less hands on, again allowing them to come to me if desired.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - East Hampshire
Ellie was thoughtful, conscientious in our home, kept everything clean and tidy, which we appreciate so much. And most importantly, she cared for Lola and took her on long walks and gave her cuddles :) and made sure she was well hydrated and fed. She kept us informed. She was very reliable. Highly recommend Ellie if you're looking for someone to care for your baby.

Cat is an exceptional human being. She went above and beyond whilst taking care of my beloved pets and home. I’m honestly touched by her efforts to keep me updated each day and the sincere care she took whilst staying in our home. Leaving your pets can be stressful for everyone, but I was able to relax and enjoy my holiday knowing my fur babies were in THE best hands. Cat is gentle and thoughtful; always one step ahead and does so with ease. Our home was spotless and the dogs were cleaner than when we left! I would book cat to look after my pets and home on repeat, until she’s sick of us! :-) We will be forever grateful to her and would not hesitate to recommend cat to look after your pets and home. She’s a star. Xxxx

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Hampshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
