“Carey did an amazing job & her calmness around Carlos really helped especially being quite nervous on first meetings. Highly recommend & will definitely be using again.”

“Tristan looked after our elderly dog Charlie for 2 days. He was kind and caring and made sure he understood Charlie’s specific needs and routine. We felt 100% confident leaving Charlie in Tristan’s care & can recommend him without hesitation .”

About: I’ve always loved animals and take pride in providing patient, reliable care. I’m comfortable feeding pets, refreshing water, going for walks, playing with them, cleaning up after them, and giving them plenty of attention and affection. I understand that every pet has a different personality and routine, so I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. Whether it’s daily visits, overnight care, or regular walks, I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m currently working part time in a nursery , so I have lots of availability in the evenings & weekends. We love going out on walks into fields and surrounding areas. I have a secure, fully fenced garden where pets can safely play and relax. I always make sure pets are supervised, have fresh water, and follow their usual routine. I’ll provide plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and affection to help them feel comfortable and at home. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always respect the owner’s instructions.
“Kate was brilliant, she looked after our boys for a week. We had recently lost our dog Sparky he was 10 and Jasper is nervous anyway but was especially anxious. Kate adapted to his needs 😊 we came home to a clean house and she has even washed the our bed sheets! We would highly recommend and will definitely use Kate again”

“Annie was wonderful with our anxious spaniel who took to her immediately. She communicated clearly and left us feeling comforted that she would be very well looked after. We would highly recommend Annie.”

“Cian was amazing with Holmes. He took time to meet Holmes (and me) prior to the sit giving Holmes time to get to know him and warm up quickly. He was a great communicator and sent updates and photos throughout the sit. I would highly recommend Cian.”

About: I have had a dog since I was 4 years old for about 15 years, so have always been around them and I have helped out with family and friends dogs when needed; walking, feeding, playing etc I can house sit/have dogs at mine on weekends. Perfect for when you are going on holiday! I often have odd days in the week occasionally, which are added 2-3 weeks in advance. I have a fenced garden, the front door, the front garden and back garden are all monitored with a camera. I will play with the dogs or relax with them or take them on walks etc whatever is needed.
About: I've had animals all my life, and worked professionally with horses for over 15 years. I adore animals and am very reliable. I have my own 2.5 year old Vizsla who loves life and is completing gun dog training. I have a few people currently who I privately care for there dogs (house sitting and walking) so lots of references available. I currently work from home so have lots of time for your 4 legged friends, they will only need to be left first and last thing why I'm at the yard (if overnight stays, or if good in the car can come with me). We tend to have little breaks then a long lunchtime walk but can easily be flexible to accommodate your routine! My dog is very friendly to all, and loves to run or go out on sniffing walks! I have a small fenced garden and a friendly dog to keep your fur baby company. We have a large field opposite and walks all around so lots of room for them to run and play! We normally go further afield at least once a day for a good walk - but can do as much or little as yours requires! Happy for paws to be on furniture and we have plenty of bed - also happy to accommodate your dogs normal routine. I can crate you dog if needed (you to provide crate). Also more than happy to come to yours if you prefer, can stay and walk or offer drop in play sessions, toilet breaks and evening company. Any questions or services required please don't hesitate to ask!
“Zoe looked after my (nearly) 1 year old Cane Corso Fang for 12 hours. Fang was loved and cared for, he got to play outside, got all the snuggles and loved his day. Zoe kept me updated on things and by the time I got home Fang was exhausted in the best way. I can’t wait for Zoe to spend more time with Fang :) thank you again.”

“Adam was a great sitter for our fur family of three! He was very detailed and thorough when taking instructions, ensuring all bases were covered to give the best care to our munchkins. We had really good communication and updates throughout and everyone was very happy to meet and chill with Adam right away. Would definitely rely on him again and would highly recommend!”

“Harry house sat for us while we were away for the weekend. He looked after our two pets, Arty the Dog and Ham the Cat, and also looked after the house! Harry was incredibly knowledgable upon meeting him, and both pets really took a shine to him instantly. Harry was very responsive whenever we messaged, and when we got home our pets were very content. Arty even seemed cleaner than he’d ever been! 😂 We had a heatwave over the weekend and Harry was very good at monitoring both pets. Especially caring for Arty, making sure not to walk him in extreme temperatures but ensuring he was sufficiently entertained. Our house was even cleaner than we left, our garden veg patch is thriving and I can really tell Harry cared for the house just as much as the pets! Thank you so much for stepping in last minute! We will deffo be booking with Harry again :)”

“Becky was absolutely amazing with Maple! Honestly I couldn’t recommend her enough! She was so patience and gentle with Maple and by the end of the afternoon they were best mates and that’s saying a lot from having a very anxious little girl- thanks again!!”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - East Hampshire
Cat is an exceptional human being. She went above and beyond whilst taking care of my beloved pets and home. I’m honestly touched by her efforts to keep me updated each day and the sincere care she took whilst staying in our home. Leaving your pets can be stressful for everyone, but I was able to relax and enjoy my holiday knowing my fur babies were in THE best hands. Cat is gentle and thoughtful; always one step ahead and does so with ease. Our home was spotless and the dogs were cleaner than when we left! I would book cat to look after my pets and home on repeat, until she’s sick of us! :-) We will be forever grateful to her and would not hesitate to recommend cat to look after your pets and home. She’s a star. Xxxx

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred East Hampshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Hampshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
