About: Hi I'm Jenny. I have a genuine affection for all animals which is why I love being on Rover and meeting lots of dogs and cats I have been a dog walker for a while now, for friends and neighbors, and have experience with a variety of breeds. (Stubborn beagles, bouncy retrievers, crazy vizslas!) I understand it can be daunting to ask someone you don't know to look after your pet which is why it's great to speak on the phone firstly and take a walk in the park to get to know you and your dog. Feel free to message me anytime with no obligation at all, I'm always available for a chat. I mostly work from home so I am flexible for 2 daily visits or 1. Dog walks can be early morning or lunchtime or in the evening in summer. If I am sitting at your house then I am comfortable to treat your dog to home enrichment as well as walks and any other needs
“Another really lovely experience with Louise. She took great care throughout the day, including a thoughtful lead-on walk that was well suited. Anxiety was handled calmly and confidently, just as before, which made a real difference. Everything was managed with care and attention, and they came back settled and happy. We’ve already booked again for the future, which says it all!”

About: My name's Louisa and I adore animals. I've grown up with dogs all my life and dogs have a special place in heart. Just a cuddle with one could make anyone's day. I have three friendly dogs myself, an 18 year old Labrador, a bernese cross aussie mix and a mixed breed rescue that I couldn't live without. I've looked after and cared for dogs all of my life and it's my biggest passion. I couldn't imagine a life not caring for dogs. No matter the size of the dog or age, I'm beyond happy to help look after them for you and I'll walk them no matter the weather. I hope I'm the carer for you. I currently work part time jobs and so have flexibility throughout the week days and weekend. I am available early mornings and late evenings/night time if needed also. I am sure to ask for any requirements the owner or pet may need. I have looked after a multitude of animals, my own and others who require leash only walks, avoiding other animals, medication needs and more. I maintain a clean environment and provide the same love and care no matter the animal.
“We are so picky and can honestly say we are 100% delighted to have found Emma! Our two boys were happy , settled and very waggy when with Emma. We can honestly say we have found the doggie sitter for us and we can now have a little time away with total peace of mind! Amazing!”

“Carly was amazing! Was very quick to respond when we first contacted her and came over to meet Bentley prior to having him. We had a hiccup with keys for Carly upon her arrival to come look after Bentley and Carly handled the whole situation magnificently! We came back to a very happy dog and she sent us updates of how he got on. Highly recommend her enthusiasm, friendliness and expertise with dogs. Thank you again and so glad to have found someone going forward to have our little fur baby!”

“Becky moved in to look after our young greyhound cross. Before the booking she was quick to reply to questions and seemed happy to chat about/get to know about our dog so she knew what to expect. During her stay, she sent regular updates and was happy to keep his routine. We came home to a happy dog so what more could you ask for!”

“Tristan looked after our elderly dog Charlie for 2 days. He was kind and caring and made sure he understood Charlie’s specific needs and routine. We felt 100% confident leaving Charlie in Tristan’s care & can recommend him without hesitation .”

“Cian was amazing with Holmes. He took time to meet Holmes (and me) prior to the sit giving Holmes time to get to know him and warm up quickly. He was a great communicator and sent updates and photos throughout the sit. I would highly recommend Cian.”

“Annie was wonderful with our anxious spaniel who took to her immediately. She communicated clearly and left us feeling comforted that she would be very well looked after. We would highly recommend Annie.”

“Gillian was excellent. She communicated clearly and sent us updates and pictures while we were away. She was very caring and friendly when she met Duke and Kezi. She managed to change her arrangements for us which was amazing to accomodate us . We were very happy with Gillian and would strongly recommend her.”

“Ivor carried out our dog sitting for a week & I would highly recommend! The dogs were happy, well cared for and we got regular updates. When one of them got ill, Ivor kept a close eye on her, adapted her food and she was right as rain upon our return. The house was spotless which made our return to home so lovely and us really appreciated. I would definitely use again. Thank you”

About: Hi I’m Megan, I’m 27 and I’m a reliable and caring animal lover offering pet sitting in your own home, so your pets can stay comfortable in familiar surroundings while you’re away. I have four cats of my own and plenty of hands on experience caring for both cats and dogs. I regularly look after friends’ and family members’ pets, giving me experience with a wide range of personalities, breeds and ages, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a slower pace and extra care. I work Monday to Friday in a role that allows me to split my time between working from home and being in the office. This means I can offer flexibility depending on your pet’s needs and provide plenty of companionship, particularly on the days I’m working from home. I’m happy to provide feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, companionship, administering routine medication if required, litter tray cleaning and regular updates with photos for your peace of mind. I understand that every pet has their own routine, and I’ll always do my best to stick to it so they feel safe, happy and well cared for. Whether you’re away for a day, a weekend or longer, I’ll treat your pets with the same love and attention I give my own. I work Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with a mix of office and home working. This means I’m available before and after work every day, all weekend, and I also have flexibility during the week when I’m working from home. I can provide morning and evening visits, overnight stays (where agreed), weekend care, and some daytime visits depending on my work schedule. I’ll always make sure your pet receives plenty of care, attention, exercise, and companionship. I have four cats of my own, so looking after animals is a big part of my everyday life. I’ve also looked after dogs and cats for family and friends, so I’m used to different routines and personalities. When I’m caring for someone’s pet, I stick to their usual routine as much as possible, whether that’s feeding, walks, playtime, or just keeping them company. I know every pet is different, so I’m happy to follow any instructions to make sure they feel comfortable and settled. I’ll also keep you updated with messages and photos, so you know they’re happy and being well looked after.
“Mia was amazing with our little Pip, despite the hot weather. She played games with her and gave her lots of cuddles. Would highly recommend Mia and we will definitely be booking her again”

“Cath is great and it was great to have someone caring for Mimi who has experience of nervous or anxious dogs. Cath came over for a meet and greet and asked some good questions to better understand Mimi. Cath is professional, great with Mimi and reliable. I would highly recommend Cath to look after your pooch.”

“Claudia sat for our street rescue Kobi for two nights. It was the first time we have left Kobi in the two years since we adopted him, so we were a little worried how he would be. Claudia took the time to come and meet us prior to the booking, at short notice, which really helped and was really reassuring with an obvious knowledge of dogs and their behaviours, a really calm disposition, which Kobi immediately felt at ease with and very patient and understanding with our unnecessary fussing. Whilst we were away she kept us updated with photos and Kobi was very chilled and happy when we arrived home. We would definitely book again and highly recommend.”

“Holly and her little helpers were amazing sitters for our occasionally troublesome Holly dog. She was very accommodating when arranging the meet and greet and immediately formed a bond with our dog. During the stay she was very communicative and professional both with pictures and occasional issues (house alarm went off). She took excellent care of the house, over and above tidying, etc. An amazing sitter, who I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thanks Holly and helpers.”

“Adam was a great sitter for our fur family of three! He was very detailed and thorough when taking instructions, ensuring all bases were covered to give the best care to our munchkins. We had really good communication and updates throughout and everyone was very happy to meet and chill with Adam right away. Would definitely rely on him again and would highly recommend!”

“Michael stayed for a week while we went on holiday. He took exceptionally good care of our four legged family members. We would be more than happy to have him return and take care of our dogs again.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - East Hampshire
Cat is an exceptional human being. She went above and beyond whilst taking care of my beloved pets and home. I’m honestly touched by her efforts to keep me updated each day and the sincere care she took whilst staying in our home. Leaving your pets can be stressful for everyone, but I was able to relax and enjoy my holiday knowing my fur babies were in THE best hands. Cat is gentle and thoughtful; always one step ahead and does so with ease. Our home was spotless and the dogs were cleaner than when we left! I would book cat to look after my pets and home on repeat, until she’s sick of us! :-) We will be forever grateful to her and would not hesitate to recommend cat to look after your pets and home. She’s a star. Xxxx

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Hampshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
