“What can i say? The moment Joel walked through our door i knew i could trust him with my precious dogs. My two are elderly and immediately warmed to him. Yes! Of course he had treats but only one. I watched Joel carefully as owners do and his reactions to both was loving and caring. PERFECT. I asked him to look after them whilst i went to London for the day. He sent regular pics and messages. I returned to happy dogs.”

“I would highly recommend Mia, she is a great communicator, warm and friendly and very switched on. Lottie is quite shy with new people and she gave her the space she needed while getting they got to know each other. Mia followed all the instructions I gave for Lotties care, sent photos and did a meet and greet first. I have already booked Mia again and would not hesitate to recommend her.”

“Neo was very happy being looked after by Daisy, when he first met her he didn’t want her to leave. I left instructions advising we have been trying to teach Neo how to sit and when we returned after a week and I gave him a treat he sat straight away and has continued to do so since! I’m really impressed! We came home to a very happy and chilled boy!”

“Gabi did a great job of looking after our 7 month old puppy, 5yo rescue dog and dictatorial cat. Her comms was excellent, she was reliable, and everyone was happy at the end of the day. Thanks, would recommend!!”

About: I’ve taken care of family & friends dogs/cat for many years now and have grown up with them all my life! I’m lucky enough to also help out and work at dog events such as Goodwoof & Dogstival. This included walking, feeding and assisting all the owners and dogs needs throughout the whole day. I currently have a rescue dog myself from Crete and I have dedicated my time and effort helping with her anxiety towards other dogs, walks and loud noises. As well as training her some new tips and tricks, so I understand the importance of ensuring a dog feels comfortable especially in their own home. I work Monday - Friday but work one day at home (of my choice) so I am available at 5pm onwards and I am available to stay overs or walks. I am free all weekend nights and days for stay overs or walks. I would ensure that I understand all the animals needs fro maybe owner before taking care of them. Knowing things that makes them less stressed, at home and some of their favourite walk areas
About: I've looked after many different dogs and cats, including rescues. I'm very experienced with medium-larger dogs and have also looked after smaller breeds. I'm very good with more timid or nervous pets as my relaxed nature tends to put them at ease, and even if they don't end up cosying up to me they still feel comfortable around me! I've also looked after cats with health problems, including multiple injections a day, asthma masks, pills and so on. I have lots of experience looking after multiple pets - the most was a month with 2 German Shepherds, a Labrador, and a Jack Russell! As I work fully from home I'm able to be looking after your pets at all times and subsequently very flexible in terms of dates of sits if anything changes last minute. I'm very clean and tidy and always treat wherever I'm living as though it were my own property, leaving it in the same or better shape than I found it! Although I'm a musician I don't make too much noise, and don't need to play my saxophone if your neighbours are close or you're in a flat etc, and when I compose I'm able to use headphones so no need to worry!
About: I am a 26 year old animal lover living in a gorgeous coastal town near Chichester, West Sussex. I have always lived with cats and dogs in my family of all shapes and sizes, including Spaniels, Tabby cats, German Shepherds and Labradors. I work remotely as a legal assistant whilst training to qualify as a family lawyer. I have a full driving license which enables me to take my friend’s and family’s dogs on nice long walks at the beach or in the woods. You can rest assured knowing your pet would be very looked after in my care. I currently work full time as a legal assistant but enjoy the benefit of working from home 5 days a week which enables me to provide care for your pets either living in with me, or by driving to your house to feed and play with your cat or walk your dog! I have a cottage-style fenced long garden which is perfect for lots of sniffs and room to play on our lawn. I have access to the garden via a back gate and a garden sink which is ideal for muddy paws! I live within walking distance to Bosham quay and have other great walk routes such as farmers fields and woodlands nearby. I have oak wooden floor throughout the downstairs of our home and are very used to having dogs overnight here.
“We returned home last night after a fortnight away! Cris and Monika house sat for us and loved and spoiled our dog Aimee whilst we were away. We had regular updates with pics and vids and it was clear to us from these that we made the right decision. This was to have her looked after at home but most importantly that we had chosen Cris and Monika. We (but more importantly Aimee) couldn’t be more happy.”

About: I've always been trusted to care for family pets, whether for overnight stays or daily walks, and I've loved every minute of it. I've also looked after pets for neighbours and family friends, giving me experience with dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I love attending training classes with my own dog, Bruce, and have picked up a few fun tricks and training techniques along the way that I can practise with your pup too! I’m currently back from university over the summer and only working part time so i have plenty of time to look after and play with any dogs! My schedule is very flexible to fit your needs. I have a fenced garden and a very energetic dog, Bruce, who will love the company. I am very attentive and will make sure your dog has everything they need

About: I have a frenchie who was born Feb 2023 and had him since he was 8 weeks old, I trained him from the get go with some help from YouTube , books , friends & some puppy classes . He’s now the best dog , so friendly , so good with children and so fun to be around ! He’s always making us laugh. Having dogs in your life makes your life happier! I actually never had a dog growing up but I always had friends and boyfriends who had them I always found myself gravitating towards them. Since having Xylo I can’t believe I ever had a life without him by my side ! I frequently puppy sit a friends dog and have a friend with an anxious Frenchie who I’ve helped and assisted with , she’s now Xylos best friend ! She went from not liking other people and other dogs now they’re the best of friends and even enjoys playing with my daughter . When growing up I always wanted take my friends dogs on their leads . I had a partner for a few years and he had two Labs which were adorable we often took them for walks and trained them both together . I constantly asked questions and learnt how to look after them both. I took them out on my own as I didn’t work full time. I helped look after his elderly dog in and out of cars until his final days. I then found myself supporting his dog left behind in his grief of his best buddy. I’ve always had an interest in dogs but my lifestyle growing up was too busy for a dog , now I work part time it’s perfect time to show off what I can do! I’m currently working Monday-Wednesday but for holiday bookings message me and I can see what I can do! I’m around Thursday - Sunday. I have two year old stepdaughter who LOVES dogs , big or small and is so gentle with them. She has grown up with Xylo as they were both babies when they met ! She goes to childcare on a Thursday and every other weekend she goes to her mums. But I’m happy to have your pups with her, she loves them just as much as me! Her favourite part of the day is taking the dog for a walk , she’s currently training on the lead - loving it! There’s a few people in the house who will also be happy to take my daughter off my hands which will give me some time with your pups on their own! I’m very flexible and I will try my best to fit your pups schedule around mine! Any Questions about Monday-Wednesdays please just message and I can try and adjust for you . I have an Advanced DBS My home is in the perfect spot for dogs , I have a big garden that backs on to multiple fields. I have beaches near by , parks , forests , lakes, rivers , quieter roads and a high fenced spacious garden. My home can be potentially separated off of your dog needs some time to relax away from my dog. But I will give them chill times anyway. I also have a national trust membership which gives us a variety of different opportunities for walks. We also have a gated driveway . There’s a dog park at the top of my road that has play equipment suitable for dogs and is a huge gated area that I like to rent out when having other dogs especially for meeting for the first time !
About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life, so caring for them is second nature to me. Right now, I have my dog Alfie, a complete bundle of energy who needs tons of walks, fetch, and playtime to tire him out. I also recently lost my older dog, so I deeply understand the extra patience, slow walks, and gentle care that senior dogs need. From high energy dogs to quiet seniors, I’ll treat your dog just like my own :) Since I work on a small remote project from home, my schedule is completely flexible. I don't have fixed office hours, which means I have all the time in the world to give your dogs the care, attention, and company they need, especially if you're away on holiday and want them to feel comfortable at home! I’m already out walking my energetic dog Alfie for 2 to 3 hours every day (split into a couple of walks, usually early morning and late evening during hot weather, with plenty of indoor playtime in between). I also have my own car, so traveling to nearby areas or taking your dog to nice walking spots is no problem at all. The house I live in is very big, we usually leave a door open but for first visitors I would go out into garden with their lead on to make sure they know how to get back to the house. I would be happy to let them off the lead and follow them around so they don’t get lost. In the owners home I would always take them out on a lead and make sure they feel safe and the environment is safe before letting them off.
“Emma and Mark have been excellent throughout, getting to know our nervous dog slowly and patiently. They are very trustworthy and they took care of her so well, we were really confident throughout the sit that she was in the very best of care!”

“Cath is great and it was great to have someone caring for Mimi who has experience of nervous or anxious dogs. Cath came over for a meet and greet and asked some good questions to better understand Mimi. Cath is professional, great with Mimi and reliable. I would highly recommend Cath to look after your pooch.”

A huge thankyou! After being let down last minute Penelope took over and looked after the house and our our pets as if it was her own. Constant updates and excellent communication between myself my partner and her. I know my partner was a lot more at ease and hugely greatfull for how Penelope was. Thankyou again and will certainly use again in the future!

Kara stayed at ours for 6 days whilst we were away - during this time she gave us frequent updates (including photos) which was so lovely to see. Upon our return, it was clear that our cat felt really relaxed and safe with Kara and she’d clearly been well looked after. In addition, Kara went above and beyond to care for our home which was very much appreciated. We would welcome Kara back with open arms!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Chichester walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chichester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
