“Maria has looked after Lottie and Oscar a few times now and I always come home to happy healthy dogs. Maria is really good at communicating and sending me pics of the dogs. I would highly recommend Maria and will definitely ask her to dog sit again. Thank you Maria”

“Michelle was so attentive and communicative as she looked after Theo. We received regular updates - all with Theo living his best life!! We felt safe leaving him in Michelle’s capable hands, and he seemed to absolutely love his time with her. Thanks so much Michelle”

“Mia did a great job looking after my 2 large boys in my home when I was away for a recent work trip. She provided me with regular updates - pictures and gave them all the attention and walks and cuddles they love. I will definitely be using Mia again”

“Daisy was outstanding. On short notice, after our original sitter cancelled, Daisy stepped in and did a fabulous job. Rupert, a young puppy, was looked after well, and Daisy, who was in our house, left the place immaculate. I can unreservedly recommend Daisy. We were grateful for her fantastic service. Thank you.”

About: I've had dogs since I was 14. We had a out first dog, a westie called Bonnie who came on all of our camping trips and Sunday hikes. We gave her as much love and attention as we could throughout her life. Since then we have has different breeds of dogs within our family and have learnt so much about them overs the years, including basic training and learning their personality traits. I have recently quit my technical job in order to become a full time dogwalker/trainer and hope to be able to train shelter dogs in order to be rehomed. I am a full time self employed dog walker, currently accepting bookings mon-friday 8am - 6pm. I have my own car and can travel within 5 miles of Havant. I will try and stay local with dogs if I can. Or drive to a nearby forest/field to allow the dog, the exercise and enrichment they need. With home visits, I'll firstly greet the dog, check food and water levels and allow wee break straight away, whether its in a garden or an outside walk. If food is low, i will replace according to owner instructions. If water low or dirty, I'll clean the bowl and refill.

I’m just about to embark on a dog walking service, after many years of owning dogs. So can be very flexible with time. I’m currently starting up as a dog walker, so have unlimited time slots at the moment. I’m happy to come to your pet in the morning or afternoon. I will try my very best to fit around your pet and treat it as if it were my own. I will provide playtime, cuddles, feed, litter changes and any other requirements they might need. They will be given all the love and attention they deserve. Ina trained in animal first aid and have a DBS check too.

“Harry house sat for us while we were away for the weekend. He looked after our two pets, Arty the Dog and Ham the Cat, and also looked after the house! Harry was incredibly knowledgable upon meeting him, and both pets really took a shine to him instantly. Harry was very responsive whenever we messaged, and when we got home our pets were very content. Arty even seemed cleaner than he’d ever been! 😂 We had a heatwave over the weekend and Harry was very good at monitoring both pets. Especially caring for Arty, making sure not to walk him in extreme temperatures but ensuring he was sufficiently entertained. Our house was even cleaner than we left, our garden veg patch is thriving and I can really tell Harry cared for the house just as much as the pets! Thank you so much for stepping in last minute! We will deffo be booking with Harry again :)”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs and cats and have always played a hands-on role in caring for them. I also spent two years working at a farm-based school where I was responsible for caring for a wide range of animals, including livestock. I’m confident with all breeds, sizes and ages of dogs and cats, and their health and wellbeing are always my top priorities. I treat every animal with the same love, patience, and respect I would give my own, and I pride myself on being a reliable and responsible caregiver. I’m also an active person, so I genuinely enjoy dog walks just as much as the dogs do! Whether your pet is energetic and adventurous or prefers a slower pace, I’m happy to adapt to suit their needs. Most importantly, I want every pet in my care to feel safe and loved while you’re away. I’m currently working part-time, term time only, and so I have consistent availability on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays and occasionally extra days in non-term times. I can drive to various pet owners’ houses per day. I’m available to feed, walk, play with, and relax alongside your pets, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for at all times. I have a strong understanding of animals’ needs and always put their wellbeing first, providing attentive and compassionate care tailored to each individual pet.

About: I have years of experience, from growing up with family pets to having my own dog (seen in the photo). Due to this, I know what is important and required when looking after your beloved pets. I have looked after others pets before (over nights, walks and drop ins) as well as leaving my own dog with walkers and sitters. I will ensure I ask all of the relevant questions about your pet and get to know them before embarking on day care/ walks or drop ins. If you would like your dog to have company and a play companion, I can also bring my own friendly spaniel (Podrick) on walks. Of course, this is optional to you and your pups needs. I will make sure to take lots of photos and videos to send to you along the way. I know what it’s like missing your furry friend! I am in between jobs at the moment and have a free summer so my routine can be very flexible for your pets. With enough notice, I am happy to help. If you require drop in visits and home stays, I will make sure to ask all the relevant questions so that your pet has a high standard of care. I will respect your home and space. I know what it is like having drop in visits due to having had them for my own dog. You can be assured that your home will be respected.

“Megan looked after our rather anxious and reactive dog for 10 days during which she also house-sat for us and did a great job on this score, with all pots well watered etc.. Megan is calm, patient and confident with dogs and quickly built up a strong bond with him. Megan sent us regular updates including photos and it was obvious he was having a great time and being looked after by someone who really cared about his wellbeing. Both us and more importantly our dog would be very happy to use Megan again.”

Harry was amazing, we are so lucky to have found him! He has taken a lot of time to get to know Bear before this sit. Our little Bear is a rescue & does not like being left, he isn't very happy with strangers being in his home. When Harry 1st met Bear he knelt down calmly caliing him & waiting, imagine our surprise when our scared little boy went to him to make friends!! Harry has a gentle calming vibe about him, he really understands dogs, he will look after your beloved pet so well, doing everything he can to make them feel relaxed & happy. We were in Spain & got regular pupdates, we had nothing to worry about. When we got home everything was clean & tidy, Harry is very respectful, most importantly we had a very contented little Bear waiting for us. Thank you Harry for all the time & effort you put into making this possible prior to our holiday. Can't wait til next time

Absolutely brilliant, cannot rate Hana highly enough. Hana looked after our Rottie and Olde English Bulldog for the weekend. Both our dogs are very alpha and Hana had them under control in minutes, made a great bond and our boys loved her. Super-accommodating, very helpful and excellent, honestly couldn’t ask for more 10/10

Skyla was perfect for our rescue Dog. She understood her rather complicated behaviours and adapted her approach accordingly. Our dog loved Skyla and they both had a great time whilst we were away. We were able to enjoy a worry free holiday. She left our house beautifully clean and tidy. I would highly recommend her.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Havant walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Havant choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
