“Gentle James is perfect for puppy care. He's also not judgemental if you need dog care for ill health and we were moved by his willingness to jump in at short notice and support the family during a difficult time.”

“Tamsin has been wonderful with Pitchu. She even managed to get my old girl eat out a few treat off her hand and she let her stroke her, which is amazing as she is super shy. Tamsin follows all the instructions you leave her and is super easy going. I would recommend Tamsin anytime and will certainly rebook her. Thanks Tamsin, you’ve been great 😊”

About: I was born into the house of an animal hoarder, so chances are I've looked after your kind of pet before. You name it I've probably picked up its poop. I've pet sat many times over the years and my clients (and their pets) are all returning customers. I've looked after pets with complex needs, from skin conditions, tooth problems (or no teeth at all) to joint pain or behavioural problems, I can handle it. Only thing is by the time you're back, I will love your pets just as much as you! Depending on the pet's needs, I can come by before and after work (I work 0700-1600) but, if necessary, I can take time off work to stay full time. For these bookings I will require 2 weeks notice. My approach to pet sitting is, if they're naughty or hyper, keep them engaged with play or exercise so they don't make their own fun. Otherwise I tend not to leave the house for too long so I can attend to them when needed. If the pet needs medication, I set alarms for myself. I have a background in social work so I'm pretty hot on medication timings and can update the owner if I have concerns about health decline. All I ask on this is clear instructions. I also tend to clean the house before the owner returns, the last thing people want to do after travelling home is spend all day cleaning so I will make sure that's done to a high standard for you.
“Maria was amazing, the dogs loved her and had a great time. It was lovely to be able to leave them for the day knowing they would be well looked after. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. Thank you Maria, we will be in touch when we are next in the area xxx”

About: Hi! I'm a passionate animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for a wide range of pets. I also have: Experience raising puppies/kittens and helping with early socialisation Regularly participated in dog training (obedience, sniffer work, and rally) to a "gold" standard A calm, patient, and kind approach—especially with nervous or high-energy pets Every animal deserves to be cared for in a way that suits them. I’ll work closely with you to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you're away. I’d love to meet your furry family—feel free to get in touch with any questions! All the best, Garth I work full time at a university, however my schedule is completely flexible and I am always able to work from home! I will be willing to work with you on an ad-hoc or regular basis - whatever is best for your companions I currently live in a house with a family friend and their family, which has an enclosed garden. In my space, there is ample room for their crate and food bowls, and I already have toys / Kong's here for their enjoyment! About: I've had dogs since I was 14. We had a out first dog, a westie called Bonnie who came on all of our camping trips and Sunday hikes. We gave her as much love and attention as we could throughout her life. Since then we have has different breeds of dogs within our family and have learnt so much about them overs the years, including basic training and learning their personality traits. I have recently quit my technical job in order to become a full time dogwalker/trainer and hope to be able to train shelter dogs in order to be rehomed. I am a full time self employed dog walker, currently accepting bookings mon-friday 8am - 6pm. I have my own car and can travel within 5 miles of Havant. I will try and stay local with dogs if I can. Or drive to a nearby forest/field to allow the dog, the exercise and enrichment they need. With home visits, I'll firstly greet the dog, check food and water levels and allow wee break straight away, whether its in a garden or an outside walk. If food is low, i will replace according to owner instructions. If water low or dirty, I'll clean the bowl and refill.

“I’ve used Victoria twice now to look after my Billie whilst me and the children go away and honestly I wouldn’t use anyone else now. The communication and photos are 10/10 and her and Teddie are just so lovely and kind ❤️”

About: I’ve had animals all my life, and got in love with them since I was little, I took care of cats, dogs and even parrots. Love animals with my whole heart and feel like they’re my best friend. I’m currently studying law and criminology but I do have a flexible schedule to take care of pets. I can do weekends and holidays. I have a fenced garden for my dog to play around, I take him on walks and give them a lot of cuddles. With cats I normally play with them, take care of them and give them cuddles.
“Absolutely amazing!! Hana is so caring for our two cats, she pops in for us twice a day which works well when we are away and she keeps us updated with regular photos and messages! We couldn’t ask for more! Thankyou Hana!”

About: As a dog owner and previous cat owner myself, I know our pets are family to us. I would treat yours like my own. I'm in my 50s so have decades of experience with pets, including training. I work from home and have a large garden near Staunton country park and lots of green areas. I would need to meet you and your furry friend before taking the booking so you can inform me on your routine and requirements. I would only take one booking at a time so your pet gets 100% of my attention. I work full time from home and take the weekends off. I am self employed so I am flexible with timings for walks, feeding, toilet breaks, etc. I have a large enclosed garden that is bricked fence and safe. My Cocker Spaniel lives with me. He is very friendly, follows me or sits under my desk. I feed him twice a day and walk regularly. It would be helpful if your dog is dog friendly although I can possibly get a sitter for my dog if yours isn't.

About: Hi I'm Liz and I bring structure, safety, and a genuine love of animals to every walk. I am currently studying for my professional dog training accreditation, balancing my passion for canine behavior with the equally busy job of raising a toddler! With over 20 years of experience—ranging from Staffies to Shepherds—I understand that every dog is an individual. Whether it’s a structured group walk, a 1-2-1 training session, or looking after your pet cats (a service I’ve proudly provided for over a decade), your pets are in safe, loving, and highly capable hands. My current schedule offers plenty of flexibility, meaning I can often accommodate visits at the times that work best for you and your pets. This is my first time using a sitter and Sarah immediately made me feel at ease. She came to visit the cats before we left and you can tell how much she loves what she does. She kept us updated while we were away and I felt very confident that they were in very good hands, I would not hesitate to use Sarah again and I wholeheartedly recommend her as a cat sitter😀

We had a fantastic experience with Hana while we were away for the week. She provided daily drop in visits for our two rescue cats, and we couldn’t be happier with the care she gave them. Our cats are usually quite shy around new people, but they took to Hana instantly, which says so much about her calm and kind nature. It was such a relief knowing they were comfortable and happy in her care. Hana did an excellent job not only looking after the cats but also keeping their space spotless, everything was immaculate when we returned. We especially appreciated the daily photo updates, which showed the cats enjoying pets and treats and clearly feeling relaxed and content. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hana to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely caring pet sitter. We’ll definitely be booking her again!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Havant choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
