Kirsty is absolutely amazing with my nervous dog, and very respectful and considerate. I messaged Kirsty first to explain about my dog to see if she is comfortable watching her, and she came for a couple of meet and greets to ensure that my dog is comfortable and happy before Kirsty watched her whilst I was out for the day. She was very attentive to everything I asked of her, and ensured to take notes to make sure that nothing got missed. I loved the photo updates Kirsty sent to me throughout the day and I am so pleased at how quickly my dog became comfortable around her, especially as she does usually take quite a bit of time to warm up to strangers. I am looking forward to asking Kirsty to watch my dog again so I can enjoy a stress free day out, knowing that my dog is in very safe hands!

About: I’m a nurse working bank shifts alongside my passion for animal care. I’ve owned reactive dogs for many years, so I understand the importance of calm handling, patience, routine and being constantly aware of surroundings while out walking. Early 5am quiet walks, off-the-beaten-track trails and avoiding stressful situations for dogs are something I’m very used to. We are a family home with children, so any dogs staying with us would need to be comfortable around children and a normal family environment. I offer gentle, reliable pet care with daily beach walks, peaceful hikes and a focus on making every dog feel safe, relaxed and happy. No other animals in the home. We only have one boarding dog at a time unless dogs come from the same house hols. I will be sole care for the dog during its stay. 5:00am – Quiet early morning walk 6:00am – Breakfast and calm rest time 8:00am – Garden play, enrichment or sniff games 10:00am – Beach walk or quiet countryside hike 12:00pm – Rest and nap time in the home 2:00pm – Toilet break and gentle play 4:00pm – Short afternoon walk or enrichment activities 6:00pm – Dinner time 7:00pm – Family time, cuddles and settling for the evening 9:00pm – Final toilet break and bedtime Our home has a fully enclosed garden and is just a 5 minute walk from the beach, perfect for calm daily walks and outdoor time. We are a relaxed family home with children, so dogs staying with us would need to be comfortable in a family environment. Your dog would not be left alone for long periods and would be treated as part of the family, with plenty of company, care, exercise and quiet time to settle and relax.

About: I’ve been an animal lover all my life and have had had the privilege of being both a cat and dog mum. I lived in Dubai for 10 years and this is where I had my first experience of taking in 3 rescue kittens, that I went onto adopt. Then my rescue desert dog, followed by many more. They all returned with me to the UK and lived long and happy lives. I’ve also been a dog walker and cat companion for the RSPCA. Whilst I don’t have my own pets at the moment, we have many in the family that I am called on to look after. I work for myself so am able to run my own diary and I’m able to fit any pet care services around my current responsibilities. Although I don’t currently offer pet boarding services in my own home. I have a fenced garden and internal doors that allow for the front door to be separated from the main living area.

About: I've grown up with cats and love spending time with dogs, and I have sat for owners of both cats and dogs. I love all animals and would be excited to look after all kinds of pets! I adapt well to the pet's needs and personality, allowing them to warm up to me naturally. I will be able to spend lots of time with your pet! I travel frequently to see my partner who lives overseas, so a regular work schedule doesn't suit my needs. That means the flexibility of pet sitting is right up my street, and is my main focus. Apart from a few hobbies, I will be spending all my time at home taking care of your fur baby! I like to learn your pet's routines and keep to them where I can to make sure they feel as comfortable as possible. I know how difficult it can be to leave your pet, so I will send messages about how the pets are getting on as frequently as you'd like. Daily pupdates are not too much to ask!

Helena has been amazing with our Arlo! He absolutely loves her and has the best time with her. It's so good to know our boy is being well looked after when we have to be away. Helena has also been flexible when we've had to change our schedule 🩷 It's hard to find a good sitter, but such a peace of mind when we do, very grateful!

About: Hi, I’m Emily — a part‑time Health Care Assistant and second‑year Nursing Apprentice based in Whiteley/Fareham. I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life and currently have a 7‑month‑old Sprocker Spaniel, Reggie, who has given me plenty of hands‑on experience with puppy behaviour and routines. With two years’ experience as a Health Care Assistant and ongoing nursing training, I’m very comfortable with cleaning, hygiene, and handling any bodily fluids involved in caring for animals. I’m calm, organised, and friendly. I work from home Wednesday to Friday, so I’m consistently available for weekday house visits for both dogs and cats. Monday and Tuesday vary depending on my ward shifts, but I always have reliable mid‑week availability to provide feeding, fresh water, companionship, and check‑ins. During visits, I make sure dogs and cats feel calm and secure. I follow their usual routine, refresh water, manage feeding, and keep litter or toileting areas clean. With my healthcare background, I’m confident handling hygiene and maintaining a tidy environment. I always respect each pet’s boundaries and the owner’s home.

About: I have been sitting and walking friends and families dogs for the last 6 years and adore having a fluffy friend around. I have experience with all ages from 9 week puppies to senior doggies :) I know how important it is to find a safe, calm and genuinely caring place for your dog whilst you are away. I previously raised my own chihuahua from a puppy, which gave me a strong understanding of routine and what individual dogs needs will be at different stages of their life. I have experience dog sitting, boarding in my own home, doggy day care and walks. This is from small and anxious to large more energetic dogs, so I’m confident and adaptable! They will get all the love and attention they need so you have no worries leaving them with me. They will be cared for with kindness, attentiveness and genuine warmth - like a part of the family🤍 💻 Flexible, Attentive Care I work from home with completely flexible hours, which means I can adapt to your dog’s routine and needs. Your dog won’t ever be left for long periods and will have regular breaks, company and cuddles throughout the day. I am available all throughout the week and on weekends with sufficient notice. 🏡 A calm, comfortable home I live in a spacious 3-bedroom flat above a small business, so it’s a quiet setting with no neighbours above or below. It’s just myself in the home, creating a calm, low-stress environment where your dog can relax and feel secure. I am happy to have your dog in its crate at night if trained or if they are more anxious or need to feel more safe they are welcome on the furniture or my bed. ☀️ Safe outdoor time Access to my large private rooftop space for supervised fresh air and toilet breaks (always on lead for safety), plus plenty of lovely nearby walking routes for proper exercise. 💊 Experienced & Observant I’m comfortable administering basic medication and always pay close attention to behaviour, appetite and mood — especially important for older or more sensitive dogs.

About: I’ve been a dog lover for as long as I can remember and have plenty of experience looking after dogs for family and friends over the years. I’m comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels and routines, and I understand how important it is for them to feel safe, settled and cared for when they’re away from home. I’m also a dog owner myself, with my very friendly Cockapoo, Winston. He loves meeting other dogs and having friends to play with! I’m confident with the day-to-day care dogs need, including walks, feeding, playtime, cuddles and keeping to their usual routine. I’m lucky to have a flexible schedule, so I can give dogs plenty of company, attention and time throughout the day. Walks, garden time, play and plenty of cuddles are all part of the day, with quieter periods for naps and relaxing. I’ll aim to follow your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible, including their usual walk and meal times. I’m also happy to accommodate different energy levels — whether your dog loves long walks and lots of play or is happier having a potter around the garden and curling up on the sofa. For dog walking and daycare, I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise and attention rather than simply being left to entertain themselves. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing will always be my priority. We have a secure, enclosed garden and I’ll make sure doors, gates and outdoor areas are secure before letting dogs outside. I’ll take the time to understand your dog’s personality, routine and any particular needs before they stay, and I’m happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand so you can make sure you’re comfortable with me and Winston. Winston is a friendly and sociable Cockapoo who loves having other dogs around, but I’ll always supervise interactions and make sure every dog has space to settle and relax when they need it. I’ll also keep your emergency contact and vet details on hand and follow any instructions you provide around feeding, medication, walks and anything else your dog needs. Most importantly, I’ll treat your dog with the same care and attention I’d want for Winston.

About: I'm a dog magnet, they seem to gravitate to me. I love their company and feel a house is not a home without a dog sitting next to me on the sofa. We lost our elderly dog a few months ago and he needed a lot of help as he had serious mobility issues. We have recently rescued a large male Rottweiler and we have 2 female cats who are very affectionate. All the animals get the best possible level of care, we give them everything they need to live a healthy and happy life. We live in a lovely house in a perfect location on a footpath opposite a forest.

About: Dog-sitting in Hampshire and London area. I have taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. My family has always had several dogs at home, with dad raising dogs for a living. From taking them for a walk to feeding and play time, that is more than a past time for me. I spend a lot of my time on the outdoors, especially walking and cycling around Hampshire and London when I’m in town for work. I have been dog-sitting in London for the past two years, providing your beloved pets with lots attention , cuddle times are mandatory and long walkies a must ! From huskies to poodles and whippets and greyhounds I have taken care to many different breeds and will always send you pictures and updates while you’re away :) I recently moved in Fareham/ Portsmouth area and am looking forwards to continue dog-sitting here as I love to spend my time with our lovely companions. I do accept overnight bookings in London as well seeing as I go into the capital every week for work. I work mainly from home and as long as I have an internet connection I can work from anywhere, which means lots of time for cuddles. The only day I have to go to the office is on Wednesdays. I am based in Fareham / Portsmouth, but go to London on eve a week for work. I am happy to accept overnight dogsits in London for a few days. I will make sure that your pets are well looked after in your home, making sure that they get plenty of playtime and walks, but as well relaxing time. As I work remotely, I always have plenty of time to dedicate to your pets. As I have grown up around dogs with a dad raising and training dogs, I am used to any kind of pets.

Keighley did a great job as always at looking after Pippi while we went away for a week. She made time in her busy set of bookings to come and feed and clean up after Pips for us and kept us updated with consistent communication and photos using the Rover card feature. Voiced her concerns around Pippi not eating as much as expected and afterwards was helpful in adjusting her feeding amounts and instructions without complaint. Reliable as always and much appreciated, thank you! X

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fareham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
