About: We all love dogs here, and dogs seem to like our relaxed house. We took a large dog that would pull your arm off, treated it like it was our child and it turned into the most loyal friend you could hope for. As myself and my husband work at different times, there is always someone at home to cater to doggie's needs. My husband goes for a walk every evening, and is missing Bruno when he does. We have a large, 30 metres, fenced in garden where dogs are free to play and run and fetch, and poop of course. And they can sleep where they are comfortable.

“Pauline is absolutely lovely! She takes great care of our puppy, Mavis, and is very flexible. Pauline’s house and garden are secure and right from our first meeting I’ve had no concerns. Mavis gets excited when I start to pack her bag because she knows she’s going to Paulines’s and is always very happy to see her - that speaks for itself about the care she receives and the fun she has! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pauline.”

About: Previously a dog groomer, I'm very confident with young and senior dogs and understand they all have their own quirks and personalities. I work from home 95% of the time and if I'm not here my partner is able to work from home. I have an in tact male French bulldog myself who is super friendly and always looking for new friends. I work from home 95% of the time and have a flexible work pattern. I go for walks with my French bulldog at the best times of the day depending on the weather and time of year. There is normally always someone at home during the week and we spend a lot of time at the weekends out on country walks Fenced garden, big house, pets allowed on the furniture and a french bulldog who is always happy to make some new friends and keep yours company
“Terri is amazing. I left my 12 week Labrador puppy with her for the day and I immediately knew Mabel would be in safe hands in a loving environment. Terri kept me up to date with messages and photos and Mabel had an amazing time. I will definitely have Terri as my first choice next time I need help with caring for Mabel. Thanks Terri”

About: Grew up with a border collie (lots of long walks and training). I recently lost a Romanian Princess (rescue dog) and want to care for other people's beloved pets (cats and dogs) the way I took care of her. I'm working from home full time. This means I can visit in the morning, lunchtime and evening. Alternatively, I could work from your house (WiFi please). I live with my husband (a bigger live of pets than i) and my 2 year old son. My son is at nursery or other childcare during the week. For boarding or day care, your fur baby wouldn't see him during the weekday. However, he knows to "wave hello and give them some space", they are given separate spaces to eat and rest. I can walk your dog on lead or drive them to a safe location for them to be on or off lead. We could do a little training (commands or sniff). Cuddles as wanted by your pet (cat or dog). I find this question tricky because I care for your pets as they need. Each dog or cat are very different in their wants and needs. Due to childcare responsibilities, and to be fair to my partner, I can only house sit for 1 or 2 nights.
About: Hello! I'm Amanda and welcome to my dog-loving home! As a passionate dog owner I know how important it is to find a safe, comfortable, and fun place for your furry friend while you're away. I can offer years of experience and a loving home. Your dog will be treated like one of the family, enjoying: Comfortable Surroundings: Free roam of a spacious downstairs with plenty of comfy spots for naps. Secure Outdoor Space: Access to a fully-fenced, secure garden for playtime and potty breaks throughout the day. Daily Adventures: At least 1 walk per day, exploring lovely local spots. I tailor exercise levels to your dog's needs and energy! Having had Labradors and Pugs I understand the different needs all dogs have. Our family pug I’ve had since a puppy, he’s now 3 and very friendly. I also have an indoor cat who gets on with our dog. I volunteered at the RSPCA so walked many different breeds and temperaments. Lots of Love & Attention: Plenty of cuddles, playtime, and interaction are standard! I’m currently working part time from home so your dog would have company all day long. Access to the garden whenever needed. The home consists of my family of 4, 2 teenagers at college and university who have both grown up with dogs and my husband who also has grown up with dogs. I will be the sole carer for your dog even though they will be spoilt rotten by all. I have a fenced in garden and am at home all day. I can give your dog all of the attention and reassurance it needs whilst settling. I can accommodate a crate or just bedding whatever is necessary.

About: I’m a nurse working bank shifts alongside my passion for animal care. I’ve owned reactive dogs for many years, so I understand the importance of calm handling, patience, routine and being constantly aware of surroundings while out walking. Early 5am quiet walks, off-the-beaten-track trails and avoiding stressful situations for dogs are something I’m very used to. We are a family home with children, so any dogs staying with us would need to be comfortable around children and a normal family environment. I offer gentle, reliable pet care with daily beach walks, peaceful hikes and a focus on making every dog feel safe, relaxed and happy. No other animals in the home. We only have one boarding dog at a time unless dogs come from the same house hols. I will be sole care for the dog during its stay. 5:00am – Quiet early morning walk 6:00am – Breakfast and calm rest time 8:00am – Garden play, enrichment or sniff games 10:00am – Beach walk or quiet countryside hike 12:00pm – Rest and nap time in the home 2:00pm – Toilet break and gentle play 4:00pm – Short afternoon walk or enrichment activities 6:00pm – Dinner time 7:00pm – Family time, cuddles and settling for the evening 9:00pm – Final toilet break and bedtime Our home has a fully enclosed garden and is just a 5 minute walk from the beach, perfect for calm daily walks and outdoor time. We are a relaxed family home with children, so dogs staying with us would need to be comfortable in a family environment. Your dog would not be left alone for long periods and would be treated as part of the family, with plenty of company, care, exercise and quiet time to settle and relax.
“Rene kindly accepted to accommodate my dog Toto for the day at very short notice. Toto had a fun day and has got to know Rene and pet Sonny well now. My pick up time was delayed for over 2 hrs due to travel disruption and Rene was so helpful with her flexibility, keeping Toto for longer than planned without any fuss, which relieved further stress for me. Thank you Rene!”
About: I'm a dog magnet, they seem to gravitate to me. I love their company and feel a house is not a home without a dog sitting next to me on the sofa. We lost our elderly dog a month ago and he needed a lot of help as he had serious mobility issues. We have 3 cats who are very affectionate. All the animals get the best possible level of care, we give them everything they need to live a healthy and happy life. We live in a lovely house in a perfect location on a footpath opposite a forest.
About: I’ve helped friends with pet care for years. Whether it’s a long walk, playtime in the garden, or quiet cuddles at home, I’m all about making your pet feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m available for boarding on weekends, and free most weekdays after 2 PM for drop-ins, walks, or house sitting. Whether your pet needs playtime, a walk, or some companionship during the day, I’m happy to help and can adapt to your routine. I keep water bowls full, follow feeding schedules, and make sure pets get plenty of attention and exercise. If I’m hosting pets at my home, I ensure a quiet, calm environment with secure spaces for rest, play, and outdoor time. I treat every pet with patience, respect, and lots of love, just like family.
About: I’ve looked after pets for 23 years, and animals have always been part of my everyday life. I live with Gizmo the pug, my permanent shadow who’s convinced my bed belongs to both of us and two cats who think they run the house. Because of that, I’m used to juggling different temperaments, routines, and a lot of personality. Friends, family, and neighbours have relied on me for walking, feeding, meds, bath time, and keeping their pets calm and comfortable. I notice the small things, keep a steady routine, and treat every dog as if they’re part of my own slightly chaotic, very loved little crew. I’m currently a SAHDM (if you know you know). I was made redundant in November so for the foreseeable my life is solely pet focussed I keep things steady, predictable, and low-stress. In my home, pets settle into a calm routine with regular walks, feeding times, and plenty of company. I have a large, secure garden for safe outdoor time, and Gizmo the pug usually acts as the welcoming committee. I manage introductions carefully so every animal feels comfortable. I supervise closely, keep spaces clean, and make sure each pet has its own quiet area to relax.
“Cooper had an amazing day with Molly and Buddy, and managed to burn plenty of his energy! I received lots of lovely photos/videos of them on their walk and playing. I will 100% ask Molly to look after him again.”

About: With over ten years of experience caring for my own dog, I understand what true companionship means. I don’t just walk dogs — I bond with them, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and loved. Every dog in my care receives the same attention, patience, and affection I give my own. Whether it’s a long walk, playtime, or quiet comfort, your pet will always be treated like family. Even though my dog currently lives with my mum, where he enjoys plenty of outdoor space, he’s still a big part of my daily life. Your dog will enjoy exploring new places, getting plenty of exercise, and receiving lots of love and attention. In the evenings, they’ll relax with cuddles, comfort, and the occasional well-deserved treat — making them feel right at home.
“Felt very happy to leave our little boy Norman with Jennie. Lovely home environment and obviously love dogs. Communicated during the day to keep us up to date with how he was doing so we feel very happy and confident leaving him with her for our holidays going forward.”

Clo-Anne was amazing at looking after our dog Barney! She sent lots of lovely photos throughout the day and gave us lots of regular updates. She took very good care of Barney and it looked like he had a really good time! She was very understanding as we had to find someone last minute to look after him, and I would definitely recommend her as a dog sitter :)

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
