“My dog was very happy in the care of Murali and the family. They were very accommodating, kind and caring and kept me updated throughout the day. I am forever grateful for taking such good care of the pooch and will definitely be returning.”

“Pablo had the best day with Sandra, Nick and Charlie their Cockapoo. He’s come home happy and ready for his bed. Comforting to know he was in safe hands and to receive photo and video updates. Would love to book again in the near future.”

“Jenny was a superb sitter for my dog. She understands Shiba Inu and I can recommend her to anyone who has this breed or rare one who has slightly different temperament from majority. She spared her time to meet and greet with us beforehand which helped enormously for my dog to settle there and for me to go through all details that I hoped to inform. On the day, my dog just knew where she was and looked happy on series of photos Jenny sent. Will come back, I am sure.”

“Percy had an amazing time with Lynn! She kept us updated through the day with pictures. She had Percy during in the heatwave and took extra care to make sure he was cool. Would definitely recommend Lynn and will be booking again”

About: I would love to look after your dog, I live in a fun loving family home with our dog Shelby. I have owned dogs since I was a small child and trained them from puppies. All my immediate family own dogs. When looking after your dog I will take them for two at least one hour walks per day. I have a responsible attitude towards caring for your pet and am not scared to get stuck in. I will ensure there is a safe environment for your pet and make it feel welcome and at home in my house. I’m currently working from home studying so I have plenty of time to play with and walk your dogs. This means I’m around all day so your pets will not be left on their own. I have a fenced garden and will let your dog out on a lead to make sure they are safe and can’t escape. My friendly dog Shelby will be sure to keep them company. We have a crate if which can be used if necessary.
“Joey was just amazing with Pao. She was so lovely and welcoming, and really looked after him so well. He enjoyed himself so much with Rolo and Cooper, and was so tired after such a fun day! We’d ask her to look after him again in a heartbeat.”

“Barney had a wonderful stay with Jessica. I was kept updated with pictures whilst he was staying with her, We had met up previously so that Jessica could see Barney and get to know him a little better. I felt reassured with the communications which meant I did not have to worry about Barney at all whilst at work. I would happily ask Jessica to look after Barney again”

“Brilliant experience for the dogs thank you so much . Victoria provided a caring home from home and all their needs were catered for . Two very contented dogs returned after their walks and day out . I'm sure they will be very keen to return .”

“Excellent! Jacqueline and her husband are lovely. She is an excellent communicator. My dog had a great time, she was walked loads, fussed over, cuddled and cared for so well. Jacqueline’s home is beautiful, lovely garden, and lives near lots of open spaces for long walks. Really happy we met her and Duchess has a new Auntie!”

“Molly-Mae is the best dog-sitter we have ever met. She looked after our dog Macy for the day. Macy was very well-looked after and enjoyed her walks. Prior to the day, Molly-Mae asked all the questions to make sure she knows everything about Macy and she sent us lovely photos and videos to keep us updated throughout the day. A massive thanks to Molly-Mae! We would definitely book again.”

“Lucho had a brill time with Babs and her pooches. Babs was great at doing a bit of leash training with our pup and he got to socialise loads with the other doggies. Great comms, great report card for Lucho from Babs with pics and videos - we knew he was in super safe hands. Will book again :) thank you babs!”

“Maggie's day was amazing! Neil and his wife took care of her in a great environment and Maggie was that tired that she slept as soon as we arrived home. I would definitely recommend to leave our fur babies with them.”

“Soba est rentré heureux de ses 2 journées de garde. Bianca est une dog sitteuse douce, attentive, que Soba a tout de suite adoptée :). Nous avons eu des nouvelles et photos de lui en journée, et le carnet de bord bien rempli. Merci Bianca !”

“Toby and Kelly are lovely and their pup Winnie is incredibly friendly. I knew when we had our little intro park walk that they would be great people to look after my Daxie on an adhoc basis when I go to work. Margot had her first day with them this week and whilst she looked nervous when I dropped her off she was handed back to me later that day her usual lively self. I’ve already booked her in for another day in the coming weeks. Thank you Toby, Kelly and Winnie!”

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
