About: Equestrian, ecologist, wildlife carer & experienced domestic pet sitter. I sit for two local tripawd dogs with very specific needs, and have experience with a range of dog breeds from sits in the UK and during my recent travels & volunteering in Australia. I have owned and looked after many cats, including kittens and elderly cats with medication requirements. I have also looked after exotic pets (bearded dragons, snakes), chickens and horses. I work two part time jobs, and generally work from home at least 2-3 days per week, am in the office for 1 day per week, and do site visits of varying length locally during the day, with capacity to usually be in more than out. This means I can provide lots of company and mental stimulation to your pets most days of the week, and at weekends. I currently work part time and spend a good proportion of my week working from home, so I am available to spend a lot of time with your pet to ensure they have the exercise and stimulation they need. I care for pets within their own homes, and I like to ensure that their routines are kept as consistent as possible. In practise this means having a really good discussion before the sit commences, including written instructions with emergency contact details.
“Imogen arrived on time and communicated through the whole sit.our animals were happy and relaxed ,she sent several photos so were quiet happy so were our dogs . The was no issues so a very happy household.recommend thank you Sylvia and Colin”

“Alex and her partner were fantastic looking after our dog in our home. They were very friendly, flexible and reliable. Winnie had a great time and we would definitely book again!”

“I’ve lost count of the number of times Hilary has looked after Lenny now, he loves her and the adventures they go on together. Hilary sends lots of photos and videos throughout her stay and is very accepting of Lennys’s quirks, demands and princess behaviours 😁 The house is always spotless when we return, not easy with a cocker spaniel in a very wet and muddy February. Would highly recommend ⭐”

“Jazz was excellent. Jazz and her husband house sat for us with our lovely pup while we went abroad for a week and also fed our cats too. She accommodated a very early start and a late finish on the days we travelled. Great communication and lots of pictures and updates while we were away too which we appreciated. Also, our house was very well looked after and possibly cleaner when we returned than when we left!!! We came home to a very happy dog. Would not hesitate to use again :-) Thank you Jazz x”

“Natasha was fantastic with my cat Olten, he can be temperamental but she was patient and he even sat on her knee. She sent me lots of updates and pictures and last minute did an extra night which was so helpful! She also left the house super clean. I would definitely book again 😊”

“Over the last few days John and Inga have had such adventures! This is the second planned sit before a longer stint in September and the first time we had left Inga overnight. From our very first meeting with John we knew Inga had taken to him. Although I knew she would have a wonderful time I was sad to be leaving her at all, but John was very reassuring. The photos and videos of their walks that John shared throughout the weekend showed us that Inga was thriving so, although we were missing her, we knew she was happy and healthy and enjoying exciting new experiences. John knows all sorts of interesting walks and showed us on a map so we can explore them too - we know we need to up our walking game now! Thank you, John, for caring for Inga so well.”

“Bella & Biscuit didn’t get chance to miss us with the love and attention Sophie showered upon them. Great to feel assured your pups are comfy in their home surroundings. Video and picture updates kept me connected while having to go through my mum’s funeral abroad. Would highly recommend Sophie to stay in your home with your four legged loved ones.”

“Bethany is fabulous! We had a meet and greet a couple of weeks ago and I booked her for a trip I have this weekend, however I had an unexpected trip I had to take last weekend and she was able to help at short notice. Bethany kept me informed of Reggie whenever I asked for an update and would let me know how he was doing and quick to respond. Reggie was a happy boy when I got home so I know he was well looked after and the house was left clean and tidy. Bethany is very accommodating and will do what she can to help look after your furbaby! will definitely book again, thankyou Bethany :)”

“Shannon was great with our 3 cockapoos for a housesit. Even Teddy who can be cautious with new people was taken with her and followed her around 😃 shannon kept me updated throughout the day. Would recommend!”

“Keighley has been so easy to work with when I needed a sit for my boy whilst I went to a festival. She arranged a meet and greet promptly and has a pup herself, so is very experienced and used to energetic breeds as Reg can have his moments. Reggie took to her very quickly and he was well cared for whilst I was away. She also sent communication promptly along with some amazing photos. Friendly, kind dogsitter. Will definitely be booking again. Thankyou Keighley! :)”

About: Hi in the past 30 years I’ve been a registered English springer spaniel breeder, dog fosterer and sometimes even a puppy trainer, Over my many years I’ve adopted lots of different rescue dogs and puppies, but in the last few years my life has changed and I find myself middle aged and alone, which means I love my time looking after your cherished family member. I have a good client base in the Winchester area (especially twyford and shawford) and i can provide a book of references and my up to date public liability insurance. I paint 🎨 during the week so I can easily reschedule or change my schedule as needed, I occasionally have an art class but will only be gone for a max of 3 hrs I do not care for any animals in my home as I have a small flat so I will come to yours, I also find the dogs are more relaxed in familiar surroundings and your home is looked after too.
“We felt completely relaxed knowing our dog, Brew, was in good hands. Julie was easy to arrange with, communicated well before and during the stay, and was clearly very caring. Brew is already looking forward to having Julie come over again soon.”

About: Hi I’m Mykala — a professional and friendly pet sitter and dog walker based in Eastleigh and surrounding areas. I’ve gained hands on experience through working at dog daycare, boarding and training dogs for college and volunteering at vets, which helped me build a solid understanding of dog behaviour, body language and basic obedience. I’ve just finished my 1st year veterinary nursing but am taking a break to focus on more on my business. I have experience with old, young, reactive and everything in between. As this is my full-time job. I may occasionally need to step out briefly to attend to other clients during the day. If your pet has separation anxiety or requires constant care and can’t be left alone more than a couple hours, I’m still more than happy to help, this would simply be shown in a higher price to accommodate for the additional time and attention they need. I am able to administer medication if needed, I’m currently doing my canine first aid qualification and have basic animal behaviour qualification for the animals who need extra care and support
About: I have experience pet sitting both cats and dogs in Ukraine, Poland, and the UK. With clear instructions, I’ll know exactly what to do to make your pet’s time with me the best experience possible. I always try to follow your pet’s needs and personality — if they’re full of energy, we’ll go for long walks and play; if they prefer calm company, we’ll enjoy quiet cuddles and gentle care. I work part-time at a school, which leaves me with plenty of time during the day for dog walks and spending quality time with your pet. I enjoy being active and giving pets attention, care, and companionship while their owners are away. I provide a calm, safe, and caring environment for pets. In the owner's home, I follow the pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions. I make sure pets feel comfortable, receive plenty of attention, and have fresh water and a clean space. I’m also happy to send updates and photos so owners know their pet is happy and well cared for.
“What a treasure! The perfect dogsitter, every which way. Sensible, caring, responsible and with a lovely sense of humour, I'm thrilled we've found Kirsty. Thank you SO much.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Winchester
Mel was brilliant with our two terriers. She sent loads of videos and photos so we could keep up to date with their fun and games and the dogs were relaxed and happy when we got home. She did a great job with their various nutritional and medication requirements. Mel was a very tidy houseguest and we have already booked her for a second time.

Hannah agreed to look after Milo at short notice, which was very much appreciated. Her communication throughout the booking process and his stay was fantastic. She even allowed us to be flexible with the drop-off and pick up times, which was so useful, due to changing travel plans. We would hesitate in using Hannah's sitting services again, or recommending her to others.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Winchester walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Winchester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
