Imi was amazing! She looked after our 8 month lab puppy for the afternoon who loved lots of belly scratches and playing. Imi is lovely, was great at communicating and even was happy to met us beforehand and for a walk 🐾 we hope Imi is available again to help look after our pup!

Christine was great, she looked after my two cane corso’s, one is a puppy and can be hard work. She kept me updated throughout and I could tell they loved their time with Christine by how sad they were after she had gone! The house was left spotless a lot more than when I left it (you didn’t have to). Would definitely recommend Christine your pets will be in good hands. Thank you!

Jasmine was amazing! I did not worry about Rufus at all and was finally able to enjoy a night out with friends. I had regular updates, so I knew he was safe and having fun. He was excited when I got home, but super settled. Definitely recommended and she's just such a lovely person!

Alexandra looked after my old dog and cat for the weekend. I met her before this and explained what they needed. She was very communicative and I felt very confident that she was looking after my pets well. She sent messages to reassure me throughout the weekend. She left the house neat and tidy. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask her to look after them again.

We have used Jon for both pop-ins and overnight dogsitting, and I'd definitely recommend him. He gets on very well with our very lively spaniel so I'm sure we'll keep using him going forward!

Harley is an amazing dog sitter. He looked after our two daxies who are quite nervous and kept us updated all along the way. We returned to a super clean home and happy dogs after a 10 day trip. Highly recommended.

About: I have had dogs now for almost 10 years and have trained and walked multiple dogs of friends and family. I am certified dog trainer and know all basic training techniques. I have a small home but plenty of walking trails and fields. Me and my partner work opposite shifts so we would be able to take care of your pets through the whole day. Overnight or weekends are always welcome. I have a fenced yard with plenty of comfy spots. We have a 7am breakfast time and 7pm dinner time but can be flexible to the needs of your dog.

About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family had smaller pets such as cats, hamsters, and rabbits, which sparked my interest in animal care and rescue—especially with dogs. Over the past 8 years, I’ve gained valuable experience in dog behavior and care through attending training seminars, volunteering at local shelters, and providing dog walking and sitting for friends, family, and private clients. I am currently volunteering at the RSPCA in Stubbington. I've had to go through specific dog walking training on how to approach dogs who are struggling in the shelter. From being nervous and scared, to excitable and playful. I've cared for new born puppies, taken dogs to vet appointments and even cared for Tortoises. Through word of mouth, I’ve built a loyal private client base that I’m excited to continue growing. Caring for animals brings me immense joy, and I’m working toward a long-term career in animal care. I’ve recently begun a Veterinary Nursing course to further develop my knowledge and skills. I'm currently working part-time at Sparsholt College and University. This enables me to continue caring for animals in my spare time. I have Saturday to Tuesday free for Dog walking and sitting. I'm currently not able to have pets at my home as I have 3 cats in the house. 1 elderly who does not take to new pets.

Alice knows animals really well, is professionally-qualified and experienced, so she's super relaxed and confident, which was very reassuring. And everything was really smooth - she communicated well and was really flexible with timings etc. Thanks!

About: I’m here to give your pet 10/10 care - I will do everything to make sure your pet is made to feel calm, welcome, and relaxed whilst ensuring they have a playful and fun time too. I have two miniature dachshunds - Rolo (3.5 years) & Cooper (1 year). They are friendly, cuddly and love to be around other dogs. We live in a quiet cul-de-sac with a fenced garden. I can offer toilet breaks every 2 hours and there are 2 nearby parks for regular walks and fresh air (3 mins and 6 mins away). I will pay attention to dietary needs and can give tablet medication if required. Treats are provided (if allowed!) and we have plenty of toys for them to play with. When the dogs sleep, I play Smooth Chill radio on the Alexa to make them feel more relaxed and settled. Book with me today and you can be reassured your pet will have a happy stay! I work from home 2-3 days a week (days vary, but I will keep my calendar up to date so availability will be as accurate as possible). My job is very laid back with very few calls so I can give my attention to your pet when they are with me at home. *** I will not leave your dog alone - I will only accept bookings on my work from home / annual leave days and weekends when I am here to give them my full care and attention **** We have a fenced garden for plenty of toilet breaks, playtime, sunbathing (in good weather!), they can relax in the garden with me, where there is plenty of shade (we are in a bit of a dip where we live, so it stays very cool) and in colder weather they can stay warm inside - my dogs love to soak up the warmth from a tower heater whilst snoozing. When the dogs sleep, I play Smooth Chill radio on the Alexa to make them feel more relaxed and settled. We have plenty of toys (chew, rope, squeaky, crinkle). Treats will be given (if allowed!) and I will pay close attention to dietary needs and feeding requirements. Book with me today and you can be reassured your pet will have a happy stay! If your dog is anxious / doesn’t like to be fussed over / prefers quiet - this will be noted and respected. Whatever your needs, please state this on your booking request. Thank you!

About: I have grown up around animals and have owned a variety. I’ve had the likes of dogs, hamsters and guinea pigs just to name a few. Most recently I have owned a pug and currently live with a golden retriever. I have a lot of knowledge about flat faced breeds and know how to best care for them. Equally I have a lot of knowledge around other breeds particularly smaller ones. I have looked after friends and my families dogs when they have gone away. I have the ability to go to their houses so that their dogs stay in their own environment that’s familiar. I have also had dogs come and stay with me too. I regularly look after my friends dog when she goes to work making sure that her dog is well looked after. I have a lot of free time at the moment being in between jobs so am very flexible with my availability. I will work around what’s best for you and your pet. I will care for your pet as if it was my own. At my house dogs are allowed on the furniture and on the beds so they can have a proper cuddle. I have three beds in the house with room for their own bed if required. I have a fully enclosed garden with a 7ft fence. I also have an open field across the road and a woodlands the other side with running water. I will make sure to feed your dog as many times as needed throughout the time they are with me. There are two fresh water bowls throughout the house and one in the back garden as well so that there is always access to water. I usually keep my back door open throughout the summer time so that Olive (my friends dog) can go in and out when she pleases, as well as her swimming pool under the shade of a giant canopy. If you would like me to sit in your own home I will treat it with the upmost respect. I like to keep things clean and tidy and will leave your home as I came into it. Leave no trace.

We, (& Poppy) are looking forward to Alison returning in December/January to house sit Poppy. I can recommend Alison, a lovely lady who is fantastic with our princess and looked after her well. Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,153 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Test Valley. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Test Valley walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Test Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
