Jade looked after my dog for the first time last night. Our dog has separation anxiety and needs a sitter who can give him lots of attention, so he doesn't feel alone. Jade looked after him wonderfully, updating me frequently with photos. I wouldn't hesitate to book Jade again.

What a brilliant experience we had with Eleanor and Raymond. This was the first time we have left our very high energy, crazy Labrador over night and he absolutely loved it. Both Eleanor and Raymond were so good with him. They took time to understand his needs and make it the most positive experience. Nothing seemed to faze them and it's very easy to see how much they love having dogs around. We feel incredibly lucky to have found them and Rosso is looking forward to more adventures with them.

Our dog (Cookie) really enjoyed herself staying with Murali and his family. Cookie is a very lively but very friendly GSD and settled with their own dog and another, especially playing chase around their large garden. We would have no hesitation in recommending this boarder to anyone.

It was our first time using the Rover app and we couldn’t have been luckier with picking Carly to look after our puppy! She was wonderful from start to finish! Our dog has just returned from his holiday with Carly and cried at the door for her when she left! Thank you for making the process of leaving him overnight for the first time so easy and being so thoughtful and kind with all your communication! We will 100 per cent be using you again!

A loving and reliable pet sitters! Will looked after our dog for a week and kept us informed throughout. We also needed to extend it for additional night and it was accepted regardless of short notice. A huge thank you for taking care of Taco. We'll definitely try to book again!

Lynn and her partner were absolutely fantastic with Mia and made me feel completely at ease. Their home is lovely, with a great-sized garden and really nice walks nearby. They also have the most adorable dog. Mia was made to feel right at home she didn’t want to leave! I would highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again.

Brandon did a fantastic job looking after my very energetic 2-year-old Labrador for 10 days! From the moment we met, it was clear he understood exactly what my dog needed to stay happy and healthy. He kept him active with plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation, which is no small feat with such a high-energy pup. Brandon was also great about keeping me updated with photos and little stories, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I came home to a happy, healthy, and well-exercised dog who clearly adored his time with Brandon. I couldn’t recommend him more highly to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic pet sitter!

Jo was really great, would highly recommend and ask her to look after Carlos again. You can tell she really cared and went the extra mile to make sure he settled in well and got on with her two lovely dogs! This makes it really reassuring when I haven’t left him much before and also loads of pictures to keep me updated!!

About: I’ve been walking dogs since I was 14, starting by helping an elderly lady with her dogs. That experience taught me how important patience, reliability, and understanding each dog’s individual needs are. I also have my own Pomeranians, so I’m used to caring for high maintenance breeds that require plenty of attention and exercise. (My dogs will not be there whilst looking after yours) Looking after my own dogs has given me hands on experience with different personalities, routines, and care requirements. I treat every dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Whether it’s a relaxed stroll, an energetic walk, or simply providing lots of love and attention, I’m committed to giving every pet the best possible care. As a teacher, I’m available to walk dogs on weekends throughout the year. During school holidays and half terms, which are frequent, I have much more flexibility and am available for dog sitting, drop in visits, and longer periods of care while you’re away. This means your pet can enjoy plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship during your holiday bookings, giving you peace of mind that they’re in safe and caring hands. Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I’ve recently bought my own home, which has a secure, fully fenced garden with plenty of space for dogs to run around, play, and go to the toilet safely. Inside, my home is clean, calm, and welcoming, with plenty of room for pets to relax. During warmer weather, the house stays nice and cool, helping to keep dogs comfortable and prevent them from overheating. I’ll follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and lots of love and attention, so they feel happy and at home while they’re with me. If your pet is more comfortable in familiar surroundings, I’m also happy to pet sit in your home, ensuring they can stick to their usual routine while receiving the same loving, reliable care.

I booked Kinghei to look after my dog Lily for 5 days and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Lily is quite a lively and mischievous dog, so I was honestly a little worried — but Kinghei handled her brilliantly. She was well looked after, taken on regular walks, and clearly in great hands the whole time. It really put my mind at ease. Thank you so much, and I wish you all the best in your pet-sitting journey!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Matt & Teddy were wonderful companions for Atti. Matt went above and beyond to keep in touch with us and was eager to know Atti’s preferences. Matt’s love of dogs (& perhaps particularly Golden Retrievers!) shone through. Atti came home calm & happy.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
