“Gracie was obviously very happy during her stay with Eleanor. She kept me informed on how the stay was going with plenty of photos. Gracie was well exercised and had lots of attention which she loves. I would be more than happy to ask Eleanor to look after Gracie again”

“Lynn and her partner were absolutely fantastic with Mia and made me feel completely at ease. Their home is lovely, with a great-sized garden and really nice walks nearby. They also have the most adorable dog. Mia was made to feel right at home she didn’t want to leave! I would highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again.”

“My 12 week old puppy stayed with Shadia for the day and she had the best time!! Shadia updated us regularly with photos, videos and it was sooo nice to know exactly what my puppy was upto while we were busy. My puppy also really enjoyed spending time with Shadias dog, and I felt it was really good for her socialisation too! If we are ever back in Southampton and require dog sitting, Shadia will be the first person I call!”

About: Hi, I’m Sophie! My partner George and I recently bought our first home in Eastleigh, and we’re both huge dog lovers. While our work commitments mean we can’t have a dog of our own right now, we’d love to help others by providing caring and reliable dog walking and sitting services. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, from a Border Collie to a Lhasa Apso/Yorkie mix, and now a lovely litte Poochon. I’m very used to grooming needs and making sure coats are well cared for. I also regularly help care for family dogs, including Labradors, so I’m confident with both small and large breeds. Having experienced every stage of a dog’s life, I’m comfortable caring for energetic puppies as well as giving extra patience, attention, and love to older dogs. I work full-time across four days a week, which means I’m fully available on Tuesdays and weekends. On my days off, your dog will have my full attention. I’ll always stick to your routine and make sure your pup feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for—whether that’s during a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay. I’m happy to provide as many walks as your dog needs, along with plenty of playtime and attention. They’ll also have access to a secure garden and a safe, dog-friendly home environment. I have a fully fenced, secure garden and plenty of lovely walking routes nearby. I’m also happy to take dogs out in the car for longer walks or new environments if they enjoy that. I always aim to follow your preferences and routine to make sure you feel completely comfortable. My home does have stairs, but these can be safely blocked off if needed. Dogs are welcome to settle in wherever they feel most comfortable. You’re very welcome to bring their bed, crate, blankets, or anything familiar from home. If your dog is used to cuddling up on the sofa, they’ll be more than welcome to do the same here!
“Ellie is so lovely and an amazing dog sitter — caring, reliable, and clearly loves animals. Our dog was so happy and well looked after, and the updates gave us real peace of mind. Would highly recommend!”

About: I have 2 female labradors in the house (5 years and her daughter 1 year). I have bred a litter and so am experienced looking after young puppies. I’m retired, so I’m in the house most of the day. My dogs get taken on safe enclosed walks an hour long each day. I have a big house/garden for the dogs to relax and play in. I’m up around 8am and go for an hours walk with the dogs around 9-10am Pottering around the garden during the day Afternoon walk with the dogs (hot weather depending, else it’s a walk after 9pm) I’m retired and so lots of time can be spent with the dogs. I have a large fenced garden and 2 lovely tempered female Labradors (5 and 1) I’ll treat your pet like my own and they will have full roaming of garden and house I have stair gates, if you prefer your dogs to stay downstairs
“Our lovely Labrador had the best holiday for two weeks with Shelley and family. He was welcomed and well cared for and great communication with updating us along the way. I would recommend highly to anyone for complete peace of mind your furry family member is being cared for to the best standards. Will be calling on Shelley again in the future.”

“Mollie has just come back from another stay with Caroline and we can’t thank her enough. Mollie settled right from the start and nothing was too much trouble . She went above and beyond for us when we were delayed in picking her up and she treats our dog as if she is her own, Mollie has come back very relaxed and I can wholeheartedly recommend.”

About: Ive looked after Friends and familys dogs im a full time dad and have lot of spare time and enjoy going for dog walks as im home all the time I’m a proud single dad to two wonderful girls and a loving Staffie cross, and dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve always been a true dog lover and understand how important it is to know your pet is in safe, caring hands. We love spending time outdoors, with regular walks through the local woods, along the river, and exploring the trees and countryside. Whether your dog enjoys long adventures or a more relaxed stroll, I’ll make sure they get the exercise and attention they need. I offer a genuine home-from-home experience, where your dog will be treated like one of the family. I’ll follow their usual daily routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and plenty of cuddles and companionship, helping them feel comfortable, happy, and settled while you’re away. “Extremely happy with the care my dog received during their 10 day stay. I got lovely photos and updates every day, which gave me great peace of mind. I’m really pleased with the service and would definitely recommend !”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have always been comfortable caring for them, from daily walks to understanding their individual personalities and needs. I have a friendly 2-year-old cockapoo called Lucho who absolutely loves the company of other dogs - he’s gentle, non-aggressive, and always eager to play, making him a great companion for visiting pups. He makes the shiest dogs feel as ease and at home. I genuinely enjoy getting out for walks and would love to welcome another dog to join us, giving both them and my own dog the chance for fun, exercise, and socialisation. Your dog will be treated with care, attention, and plenty of affection while they’re with me. Lucho is well trained - house trained, comes back on command, does tricks (sit, paw, other paw, beg, lie down, spin, roll over, kiss) - so if your young pup comes around, I can definitely do some training, or expand on any training already being done at home. I work from home - where I have a large garden and lots of toys for dogs to play in. I work 10am-6pm, and have an hour lunch break in-between, so lots of time for long morning walks, and ample opportunities to allow the doggies to do their business out in the garden. I have a fenced garden at home, and dogs have free roam around the house which is mostly dog-proof. I have a super friendly cockapoo who makes even the grumpiest of pooches to get up and play - so he's happy to keep your fur baby company and ease them into my care.

“What a delightful, warm lady. Nothing was too much trouble. Kept me informed even though only had intermittent Internet. Boy clearly happy ad when we needed to return to collect his bed ge actually wanted to go back in and initially was refusing to come off the drive, even when door closed. Recommend without hesitation. Would score higher if I could”

“Carmen did a great job, our dog seemed to feel quite at home when we came back to pick him up. She took him for nice walks and sent pictures to let us know he was alright and happy. I highly recomend her and will hire her again.”

“We have never left Woody with anyone we don’t know before so was a little nervous. But there was no need. He seemed to have had a lovely time and came back shattered! Would highly recommend. Super lovely people and Woody is going to miss his pal Charlie ?”

Excellent dog sitters. Was updated, pretty much every day, with videos and pictures. Lots of space in there lovely home. My dog was very timid around bigger dogs. But after leaving her with Murali and there lovey dog, she came back home, bigger dog friendly, and much more sociable. Excellent service. I would 100% recommend.

Qi took wonderful care of Bonnie for eight days and treated her as if she were her own. Bonnie enjoyed long walks every morning and evening, plenty of time relaxing in the garden, and quickly made herself at home—claiming the sofa whenever she could and curling up under Qi’s desk while she worked! As Bonnie sometimes loses her appetite when she's away from us, Qi patiently encouraged her to eat, even hand-feeding her when needed. Throughout Bonnie’s stay, Qi kept us updated with lots of photos and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind. We honestly couldn't have wished for a kinder, more caring sitter. I would recommend Qi without hesitation and would happily leave Bonnie with her again.

Robin had a great stay with this lovely couple while we were away. They handled her anxiety and little accidents with great care and patience, and by the second day she was feeling much more relaxed. We really appreciated the regular updates and could see that Robin was in safe, caring hands.

Craig looked after Barney while we were away and we were really pleased with the care he provided. Communication was excellent throughout and we received regular updates, photos and videos which was really reassuring and helped us feel relaxed while we were away. Barney looked very happy and settled, and it was clear he had been well looked after. Thank you, Craig, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you and would happily book again in the future.

Benji had a great time with Anthony and he has come back to us a very happy and healthy dog! Benji has obviously been very well looked after during the two weeks of our hols and we enjoyed update s and photos while we were away. We will certainly be very happy for Benji to stay with Anthony and recommend him very highly. Mike & Marie

Bruno and Brandy had an excellent time with Rosina. Communication from Rosina was excellent from the beginning, she sent us regular pictures, they always looked very happy and gave us the peace of mind that they were safe. Rosina went the extra mile by helping us make sure Brandy always had a tracker on and washing the towels when we picked them up. Would 100% recommend and book again.

Catriona has looked after my Boston Terrier many times, she's absolutely fabulous with him and he clearly enjoys his stays with her. She's attentive and loving towards him, follows any instructions I pass on and sends me regular updates and pictures. Catriona and Ben clearly enjoy spending time with him and treat him like family - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Carina was very good at communicating with me from enquiry to booking. Bear had a successful visit prior to his 5-night stay so both Carina and Bear could meet. Bear can be a nervous dog but he was greeted with such warmth and affection. There were other dogs there and he interacted really well as he can be reactive. He enjoyed his time and I had the assurance that he was doing ok via photos and videos that carina sent during this stay. I would definitely use Carina again.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
