“Our dog (Cookie) really enjoyed herself staying with Murali and his family. Cookie is a very lively but very friendly GSD and settled with their own dog and another, especially playing chase around their large garden. We would have no hesitation in recommending this boarder to anyone.”

“Monica looked after our dog really well. She clearly loves animals. We had lots of pictures showing him out on walks and chilling out at their home. I highly recommend Monica to look after other peoples dogs. Thank you again and we will be in touch again.”

“Gracie was obviously very happy during her stay with Eleanor. She kept me informed on how the stay was going with plenty of photos. Gracie was well exercised and had lots of attention which she loves. I would be more than happy to ask Eleanor to look after Gracie again”

“We couldn’t be more pleased with Lynn, and Reggie couldn’t have felt more at home. Thank you so much for making him feel so welcome and settled in your home. We will be using Lynn to care for Reggie again and would highly recommend her!”

About: Hi, I’m Sophie! My partner George and I recently bought our first home in Eastleigh, and we’re both huge dog lovers. While our work commitments mean we can’t have a dog of our own right now, we’d love to help others by providing caring and reliable dog walking and sitting services. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, from a Border Collie to a Lhasa Apso/Yorkie mix, and now a lovely litte Poochon. I’m very used to grooming needs and making sure coats are well cared for. I also regularly help care for family dogs, including Labradors, so I’m confident with both small and large breeds. Having experienced every stage of a dog’s life, I’m comfortable caring for energetic puppies as well as giving extra patience, attention, and love to older dogs. I work full-time across four days a week, which means I’m fully available on Tuesdays and weekends. On my days off, your dog will have my full attention. I’ll always stick to your routine and make sure your pup feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for—whether that’s during a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay. I’m happy to provide as many walks as your dog needs, along with plenty of playtime and attention. They’ll also have access to a secure garden and a safe, dog-friendly home environment. I have a fully fenced, secure garden and plenty of lovely walking routes nearby. I’m also happy to take dogs out in the car for longer walks or new environments if they enjoy that. I always aim to follow your preferences and routine to make sure you feel completely comfortable. My home does have stairs, but these can be safely blocked off if needed. Dogs are welcome to settle in wherever they feel most comfortable. You’re very welcome to bring their bed, crate, blankets, or anything familiar from home. If your dog is used to cuddling up on the sofa, they’ll be more than welcome to do the same here!
“My 12 week old puppy stayed with Shadia for the day and she had the best time!! Shadia updated us regularly with photos, videos and it was sooo nice to know exactly what my puppy was upto while we were busy. My puppy also really enjoyed spending time with Shadias dog, and I felt it was really good for her socialisation too! If we are ever back in Southampton and require dog sitting, Shadia will be the first person I call!”

“Kelly and family were wonderful dog sitters! Rupert had a fantastic time playing with the boys and was a very happy and content doggy when we picked him up! Would 100% recommend Kelly to others and we will certainly love Rupert to stay again in the future!”

“Mabel recently stayed with Joanne and her family. I sent her packing (a little nervous due to it being my first rover) and with a million warnings about what she MIGHT do! 🤣 Turns out Mabel was an absolute dream so they must have been brilliant at looking after her. I had regular updates and pictures. Timings were sorted out easily and we kept in touch via Whatsapp. Joanne has a really secure garden - which made me feel so much more comfortable leaving her there. It felt like a home from home setting. I have two children of my own and Joanne's two seemed to love her as much as her own. They were super excited to have her. She was allowed upstairs and just slipped into their family life. She had plenty of walks and was fed well. I wouldn't hesitate at using Jo again! Thanks guys! 🐾🐾”

“We recently had Kellie look after our dog for the first time, and we couldn't be happpier with the experience, We received regular updates and photos which reassured us that Peppa was not only safe but happy and well cared for. We will definitely be booking Kellie again highly recommended.”

“An outstanding and loving family. Compared to the first time Tux ever stayed out of the family home. He came back happy and content. We would highly recommend Carmen and her family to anyone who requires their pet to be look after. Many Thanks”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives and we’ve both grown up around them. We regularly care for dogs for family and friends and have experience with a range of breeds, ages, sizes and personalities, including rescue dogs who may need extra patience, reassurance and individual care. Pet care fits naturally into our routine as I work from home Monday–Thursday, my toddler attends nursery during the day, and my husband works evenings, meaning dogs will have plenty of company, supervision, walks, playtime and cuddles throughout the day in a calm, loving family home environment. We live in a detached family home with a secure, fully enclosed garden where dogs can safely play and explore. We also have our friendly Cavachon, Theo, who loves other dogs, enjoys walks, naps and playtime, and is very gentle and sociable. Dogs staying with us would be treated as part of the family, with plenty of supervision, affection, exercise and care tailored to their individual needs in a calm, safe and loving environment.

“David was brilliant. He is a real natural with dogs. Juno was very happy with him, he followed her routines and he kept me well informed. I highly recommend him and will definitely use him again.”

About: I’m new to Rover, but I’m not new to caring for dogs. I’ve had dogs in my life for 44 years and currently care for my own elderly dogs (Oscar (15) & Lucy (16)), both of whom have needed a lot of patience, routine and gentle handling as they’ve got older. Through them, I’ve gained real experience with senior dog care, sight loss, reduced hearing, medication routines, mobility issues, and understanding when a dog needs calm reassurance rather than too much fuss. I’ve also looked after puppies & dogs for friends and family, and I’m very comfortable following each dog’s normal routine closely. I know how important the little details are, from feeding times and medication to favourite blankies & toys, walking habits, nervous behaviours and the small things that help a dog feel calm and settled. I don’t think there’s anything quite like a dog. They are funny, loyal, gentle, soulful little creatures who somehow make the world feel better just by being in it. I genuinely believe dogs are one of the best things in life, and caring for them properly is something I take seriously. I work from home Monday to Friday and have a flexible schedule, so I’m around throughout the day for company, toilet breaks, feeding routines, walks and plenty of attention. I’m used to planning my day around dogs and their routines, including set meal times, medication needs, rest time and comfort. Walks can be fitted around my working day, including during my breaks or any walking meetings I have with my team. I am currently offering boarding in my own home, as my own dogs have a calm, steady routine and I’m always close by. I care for dogs in my own home, where I keep things calm, safe and settled. I have two elderly dogs myself, so my home is already built around a gentle routine, quiet care and close supervision. They mostly sleep now and are used to being around dogs from friends and family, including younger dogs, so the house is calm rather than busy. I’m very mindful of helping dogs feel comfortable, especially if they are older, nervous, have medical needs, or simply need a little time to settle in. I will always follow your instructions closely, including feeding routines, medication, walks, toilet breaks, sleeping arrangements and any house rules or quirks your dog may have. Every dog is different, so I’d want to understand what makes them feel safe and happy before they stay. Dogs in my care would have plenty of company throughout the day, as I work from home and am always around. They would not be left alone for long, usually no more than around 15 minutes if I needed to pop to the local shop.
“Can't recommend Mea and John enough, was initially nervous about leaving Buddy for a few nights as this was the first time, but we got plenty of updates and photos throughout his stay which put my mind at ease. Buddy had a great time!”

“Sandra was absolutely amazing. Rupert had the most fun playing with Charlie all weekend. He came back a very happy boy. Sandra was great with sending updates over the weekend and she provided a fantastic environment for him. We will certainly be using her again if the opportunity arose and would highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Many thanks to Louise and Yasmin for taking good care of our Yazmin who looked very happy and relaxed in the photos Louise sent. Louise will definitely be our first choice carer in future.”

“Gus was included in the family and clearly had a great time. The texts and photos were lovely to have. Shelley and family couldn't have done more for us. We were welcomed even though traffic meant we were much later than planned. I think Gus is missing them so I hope we get to meet up for another stay. I would certainly recommend staying with them.”

“Jenny looked after our Cavalier, Freddie, so beautifully. Lots of lovely walks, and cuddles. Jenny really loves and understands dogs and knows how look after them. She followed through on all the feeding and care guidelines we left her and made sure she handed everything back at the end (food, bed etc). Freddie came back well exercised and cared for, and also beautifully groomed, which was an unexpected but very nice bonus!”

“Hilary looked after our two cats and two rabbits over 6 days. Hilary took the time to come over and meet the animals and discuss the setup before. She kept us in the loop via photos of the animals whilst we away. It felt all very easy and great peace of mind. We'd definitely book with Hilary again. Thank you”

“John was amazing with Thor. I am a “pet mum” full of requests and reminders , lists on the wall and especially i request a continues update. John gave me everything I requested and he was really caring and affectionate with Thor🥰 I was a little apprehensive about many things cause although Thor is not a Huge dog is anyway a dog of a certain size, I have nothing but good words about him and I will for sure book him again in the future.”

“Pablo was a great sitter for my cats over the Christmas period. He arrived at the agreed times and gave my cats all the care and attention they need. I had updates each visit, including photos and videos of the cats playing and purring away. This is the first time I have used Rover and would definitely use the service again! Pablo is highly recommended and I will definitely book him again if required.”
“Laura was absolutely amazing. So lovely and friendly. Our shy cats obviously liked seeing her as they were in the window waiting when we got home. Getting pictures and updates when we were away was a perfect reassurance too!!”

“Eirian was very friendly, professional and she listened to every instructions I gave her for my dog Pixel. He is reactive to the doorbell, can be agressive when I receive guests and she was great. We did some exercises with the doorbell, I invited her in the house a few times and Pixel’s reactivity really improved.”

“Caroline looked after my elderly cat really well including managing her arthritis medication. Bella was happy with Caroline; the photos and text updates sent to me while away clearly evidenced Bella was contented. Caroline looked after our home fantastically, the place was lovely and clean when we walked back in, with spring daffodils really appreciated. I would highly recommend Caroline for your pet and house sitting and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thanks Caroline.”

“How lucky we feel, to go away and leave our cat with Natalie. She is amazing, gives daily updates and Willow looks so chilled with her. She even put our wheels bin out on collection day. I do not think I’d come away if we couldn’t leave Willow in her hands. 🐈 😻”

“Dan did a really good job looking after my fur babies. He made every effort to make them feel comfortable and in a routine. I got videos and pictures every day and even TP licked his head- which she never does for new people! Lovely person, would definitely use him for my next trip!”

I have experience in assisting to train dogs and calming them down through tools such as licky matts etc. For my regular Staffie daycare where he trusts me, I have administered medicine to his food on a regular basis for one of his needs. This trust and safety is at my property and the owners property.

About: I have been a dog owner since childhood, some 40+ years. Dogs of all shapes and sizes. Ranging from a Jack Russell to a Great Dane. Having lost our Ellie some months ago, I have a huge hole to fill. Knowing how hard it is to find sitters that can give them the love and attention they need while their mummy's and daddy's are away. I can offer a loving, comfortable home where they will be the centre of attention with lots of cuddles on the sofa, playtime and walks. I have just given up my job to make dog sitting my main priority. So they will have company the whole time they are with us. I have a fully fenced medium size garden. They will have access to the whole downstairs during the day. And may sleep upstairs at night if they prefer. Lots of parks nearby for walks.

About: Hi, I’m Daniel — a compassionate and reliable pet sitter based in Southampton. I’ve grown up around animals my whole life, including dogs, cats and small pets, and they’ve always been a huge source of joy for me. There’s something special about being around animals and making sure they feel safe, happy and well cared for. I’ve looked after pets for friends, family and colleagues, including dogs, cats and rabbits. Whether it’s an energetic dog who needs a good walk, a nervous pet who needs patience, or a senior animal who needs a gentler approach, I adapt to each pet’s personality and needs. I’m naturally calm, attentive and caring, but also playful when the situation calls for it. I genuinely love what I do, and nothing beats seeing a pet relaxed, happy and thriving in my care. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine as I work from home most of the week, which gives me good flexibility during the day. I’m typically available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends, and I’m able to plan my schedule around visits, walks or check-ins to make sure pets get consistent care and attention. Because of this flexibility, I can also adapt to different routines, whether that’s morning visits, evening care, or multiple check-ins throughout the day. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I always prioritise keeping their routine and environment as familiar and stress-free as possible. I carefully follow all instructions provided, from feeding and walks to any specific behaviours or needs, and I make sure pets feel comfortable and secure in their own space. I’m respectful of the home, keep everything clean and tidy, and ensure doors, gates and any safety measures are properly managed at all times. I stay attentive to each pet’s behaviour and wellbeing, and I’m always prepared to respond calmly if anything unexpected arises. I also keep owners updated regularly, so they can feel confident their pet is safe and well cared for.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs (since the age of 5) and continued to own one as an adult so have over 30+ years experience. More recently, I have helped care for my sons’ elderly Patterdale and also joined a dog walking site that enabled me to borrow dogs to walk on a regular basis and have sat for friends dogs too. I’m currently retired so have loads of free time for pet sitting and/or dog walking and can often accept short notice assignments according to need. As I offer a pet sitting service in owners homes, I am happy to comply with owners rules concerning their pet’s routines and safety etc. I’m patient and understanding with nervous dogs and happy to sit quietly and offer cuddles or play ball games outside with energetic dogs. I understand that every dog has its own unique personality and so I offer individualised care to every one.

About: I have grown up around animals all my life. My family home was also home to 3 cats, a dog, 4 guinea pigs and a little rabbit. Since moving to out, I have not been able to have animals of my own and a place in my heart is feeling unfulfilled. My practical experience includes attending behavioural training sessions for dogs, consistent walking of neighbours/ friends/ families dogs and as an active hiking I have great knowledge of suitable routes adaptable to the ability of your dog. Along with my practical skills as a dog walker I have many transferable skills from work-based settings such as my professionalism, reliability and organisation. I am adaptable to be able to suit your needs. I am currently out of work for the summer, therefore I am flexible to fit around your schedule. I have just finished my degree and therefore have a lot of time of my hands before post-grad work begins. I live in a village close to the countryside with many quiet and safe walks for dogs with all kinds of needs. I also can drive and therefore I am flexible with distances/ preferences of places or spaces you want you pet to be walked.
“Molly was great - very responsive at late notice, clearly very experienced with dogs, listened well to all the details about his behaviour and care. Felt very confident with her and would happily use again.”

About: I’ve had experience in caring for animals for my whole life, as I have always had animals. Also, I have looked after pets in their own environments, provided walks when needed and kept them entertained via playing (although that’s the best part!). I’m currently a student, just finishing up my degree so I have a lot of spare time in the mornings and evenings, any day of the week. Feeding and playing with your pet is no issue with me, as well as the harder parts of cleaning a litter tray or administering tablets or liquid medications.

“Our dog (Cookie) really enjoyed herself staying with Murali and his family. Cookie is a very lively but very friendly GSD and settled with their own dog and another, especially playing chase around their large garden. We would have no hesitation in recommending this boarder to anyone.”

“Gracie was obviously very happy during her stay with Eleanor. She kept me informed on how the stay was going with plenty of photos. Gracie was well exercised and had lots of attention which she loves. I would be more than happy to ask Eleanor to look after Gracie again”

“An outstanding and loving family. Compared to the first time Tux ever stayed out of the family home. He came back happy and content. We would highly recommend Carmen and her family to anyone who requires their pet to be look after. Many Thanks”

“David was brilliant. He is a real natural with dogs. Juno was very happy with him, he followed her routines and he kept me well informed. I highly recommend him and will definitely use him again.”

“Can't recommend Mea and John enough, was initially nervous about leaving Buddy for a few nights as this was the first time, but we got plenty of updates and photos throughout his stay which put my mind at ease. Buddy had a great time!”

“Bear had his first over night stay away from home with Wardah, she did everything to put me and my family at ease with regular messages and videos. Wardah has such a great way with dogs and it shows how much she enjoys looking after them. We have now booked a 3 night stay for Bear with her whilst we go way. Can't thank her another for looking after my furry baby 🐾”

“Justin & Silviya took amazing care of our Spanish Water Dogs (and us) after a very distressful start to our weekend away. Unfortunately we had an RTA on way to drop-off & Justin came out to help me walk the dogs and carry their beds/food/toys the rest of the way as our car was un-driveable! They re-assured us with messages & regular pics that our pups had settled in. This was more important to me than ever, as I was concerned the dogs may have been adversely affected by the accident. I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone who is looking for dedicated carers for their dogs. Knowing your dogs are having the best of times & are extremely well looked after whilst you are away is priceless.”

“Jo was really great, would highly recommend and ask her to look after Carlos again. You can tell she really cared and went the extra mile to make sure he settled in well and got on with her two lovely dogs! This makes it really reassuring when I haven’t left him much before and also loads of pictures to keep me updated!!”

“We needed someone locally to board our dog Darwin for one day/night at short notice and fortunately Hugo was available. When we dropped off Darwin we new straight away that he would be well looked after. We would definitely use Hugo again.”

“Qi and her husband were absolutely fantastic with my boy Archie. Qi was quick to contact me when he appeared to have a limp and was reluctant to go down the stairs but after letting her know that Archie was in fact putting on the limp for attention, she was put at ease. I left Archie with Qi on bonfire night and she was brilliant in comforting him with the loud noises. We had a few laughs about Archie's antics for attention and Qi sent some lovely pictures of Archie with herself and her husband. When I collected Archie, it was clear that he had been very happy with Qi and her husband and they expressed how much they had loved having him to stay. I will definitely ask Qi and her husband to have Archie again and they have asked to look after him again. Thankyou Qi I am so greatful to you and your husband.”

“Laszlo had the best time staying with Laura for the weekend! We've always used the same person to board him previously but they've gotten increasingly booked up so we had to find someone new and are so so happy that we found Laura! She has a beautiful cosy flat that he settled right into, lots of updates of him having snuggles and fun walks! I was nervous that he might be a little strong on the lead but that worry was put to rest at our meet and greet as Laura was happy to go out for a walk all together and show that she is more than capable with strong dogs ⭐ Well definitely be coming back to Laura again, we're so happy we've found someone that treats our fur baby like the spoiled little prince that he is 🖤🖤”
