“Thank you so much for having George overnight for the 1st time, he absolutely loved his stay, we could tell he was very happy and loved during his stay with the many updated pics and videos 🥰🥰 he cant wait to see you all again 🤩 fantastic dog sitter and would highly recommend 🙌🙌”

“Ron was very good to Ricky, he has send Ricky’s photos morning and evening. We looked forward to seeing the pictures of Ricky every day while we were away. We are grateful to Ron for looking after Ricky and would love to use his services many more times. Koji and Helen Kimura”

“Chip had a great time staying with Lauren’s family for a few nights. He had lots of fun playing with his ball and long walks. Lauren was incredibly welcoming and I would hesitate to book again!”

“Eleanor and Raymond took such wonderful care of Lucy and all her little quirks. They went above and beyond, taking the time to get to know her personality - her likes, dislikes, and her favourite routine. They managed everything with a genuine affection for her. It was such a comfort to know she was in such capable, caring hands while we were away. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommend!”

“Maria and her partner have looked after benny for a second time whilst we went away for a few days to wales. Again highly recommend great communication kept up to date about any updates being sent photos and videos to show what Benny gets up to he has made a few new friends since being with Maria. 100% top care and top service. Wouldnt have any doubts leaving benny with the lovely family.”

“Reggie had a lovely overnight stay with Allison and Toffee. She sent me some photos of their dog walk in the park and a whats app message to let me know how he was doing. Excellent care and thank you for looking after him! Will definitely be booking again.”

“Natasha is an amazing pet sitter! She regularly sent me updates and photos of Casper, which really put my mind at ease. I got to see him go from being shy to completely relaxed — even confidently sleeping on her sofa like he owned the place! 😄 It’s clear that Casper really liked her, and I’m so grateful for the care she gave him. I’ll definitely book with her again next time!”

“This is the first time using Rover and we are so pleased that we found Sophie and Josh to look after our three year old dog called Nancy for an over night stay. Sophie and Josh are an incredibly kind and warm couple, with a beautiful home and the most cutest dog of dog their own called Theo. I would like to say thank again …. a forever friend Nancy and Gemma xxxx”

“Ruth is everything you could hope for from a dog sitter and more. Very patient, kind, caring and understanding approach and great at communicating. Great experience, would highly recommend and so would my 15 year old partially blind and deaf little dog!”

“Lynn was amazing from start to finish. She took such great care of Robyn, like she was her own. Excellent communications. I could not recommend Lynn enough and we will definitely call on her in the future.”

“After a really nice meet and greet, along with our dog Harvey, we booked a short stay to see how Harvey would settle as he has never been away overnight before. We received plenty of updates and photos. Nothing was too much trouble and Charlotte catered to Harvey’s needs along with giving us reassurance that Harvey had settled when we left him. I would definitely book Charlotte again. Five stars x”

“Louise and her daughter were great - took my dogs for off -lead walks, sent me lots of photos, and understood dog behavior and interaction well. I would definitely use them again.”

“Mabel recently stayed with Joanne and her family. I sent her packing (a little nervous due to it being my first rover) and with a million warnings about what she MIGHT do! 🤣 Turns out Mabel was an absolute dream so they must have been brilliant at looking after her. I had regular updates and pictures. Timings were sorted out easily and we kept in touch via Whatsapp. Joanne has a really secure garden - which made me feel so much more comfortable leaving her there. It felt like a home from home setting. I have two children of my own and Joanne's two seemed to love her as much as her own. They were super excited to have her. She was allowed upstairs and just slipped into their family life. She had plenty of walks and was fed well. I wouldn't hesitate at using Jo again! Thanks guys! 🐾🐾”

“Wardah has been amazing with our elderly dog, Minu, who was clearly very comfortable with her. She recognised and accommodated Minu's needs perfectly. Communication was great, and we received lots of lovely updates throughout the stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Wardah again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.”

About: I am a qualified dog groomer and work part time in a luxury boarding kennels on Fridays, the other days of the week I work from home doing an admin role and grooming dogs. I have a pet first aid certification which prepares me for emergencies. I was lucky enough to be born into a family with a dog and have adored animals ever since, caring for my own rabbit from the age of 7 and helping to train the family dogs. I have owned my own dog and cared for other dogs as if they were my own. I work from home some days of the week and really enjoy the company of a dog. My house and garden are a decent size and I don’t have any children so your dog will have my full attention. I work from home in an administrative role a few days a week. I also groom dogs in the cabin at the side of my house on some days. Working from home can be a lonely at times which is why I wanted to add more dog sitting to my life. If you have any questions, please reach out! I have a nicely sized grass garden perfect for playing in which is fenced. . I have a crate if needed and can shut the front room door to prevent dogs going upstairs if they need this (young puppies or seniors). I am used to meeting new dogs regularly and learning their own unique behaviours, always taking things at their pace and learning how they feel most comfortable. This experience has come from owning dogs, volunteering at a rescue centre and working with dogs for the past 4 years.
“Cookie had another great weekend with Vikkie and her family. Vikkie is always so flexible, she also accommodated Cookie at the last minute and I am grateful for it. Thank you Vikkie!”

“Christine came to our rescue when another sitter let us down. She was flexible and positive from the very first contact and was always quick to respond. Txako clearly had a lovely time with her and her family and has come back a very contented and pampered dog!”

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
