“Monica took wonderful care of my dog Rodney while we were away. From the moment we met, it was clear that she genuinely loves dogs and takes their wellbeing seriously. Rodney was happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after when I picked him up. Monica kept me updated with messages and photos throughout his stay, which gave me real peace of mind. She was reliable, professional, and attentive to Rodney’s needs, treating him like one of her own. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Monica again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy dog sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of Rodney!”

“Shadia is absolutely amazing she looked after my cat Benji who boarded with her for 5 nights; Shadia immediately put my mind at ease as I’d never left him with anyone before. Shadia sent me lots of photos, videos & updates of Benji during his stay. I’m so happy with Shadia that I’ve already rebooked with her for for my next trip. ♥️🐱x”

“Mabel recently stayed with Joanne and her family. I sent her packing (a little nervous due to it being my first rover) and with a million warnings about what she MIGHT do! 🤣 Turns out Mabel was an absolute dream so they must have been brilliant at looking after her. I had regular updates and pictures. Timings were sorted out easily and we kept in touch via Whatsapp. Joanne has a really secure garden - which made me feel so much more comfortable leaving her there. It felt like a home from home setting. I have two children of my own and Joanne's two seemed to love her as much as her own. They were super excited to have her. She was allowed upstairs and just slipped into their family life. She had plenty of walks and was fed well. I wouldn't hesitate at using Jo again! Thanks guys! 🐾🐾”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives and we’ve both grown up around them. We regularly care for dogs for family and friends and have experience with a range of breeds, ages, sizes and personalities, including rescue dogs who may need extra patience, reassurance and individual care. Pet care fits naturally into our routine as I work from home Monday–Thursday, my toddler attends nursery during the day, and my husband works evenings, meaning dogs will have plenty of company, supervision, walks, playtime and cuddles throughout the day in a calm, loving family home environment. We live in a detached family home with a secure, fully enclosed garden where dogs can safely play and explore. We also have our friendly Cavachon, Theo, who loves other dogs, enjoys walks, naps and playtime, and is very gentle and sociable. Dogs staying with us would be treated as part of the family, with plenty of supervision, affection, exercise and care tailored to their individual needs in a calm, safe and loving environment.
“Eddie had a lovely time at Allison's and was really well looked after, as shown by the walks on his tracker and the fact he actually ate all his food, (something he has not always done when he's stayed away). I received regular updates from Allison and felt very confident that he was getting plenty of love and attention. I will not hesitate to use Allison again.”

“As always Cherry had a fab time, she is always so happy. She gets lots of attention, and we get great daily updates. Highly recommend this sitter for your pets, they always look after them so well.”

“Eleanor and Raymond took such wonderful care of Lucy and all her little quirks. They went above and beyond, taking the time to get to know her personality - her likes, dislikes, and her favourite routine. They managed everything with a genuine affection for her. It was such a comfort to know she was in such capable, caring hands while we were away. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommend!”

“Steph looked after our mini dachshund for a weekend and everything was perfect. We felt confident that Martha would be well looked after and had great communication from Steph throughout the weekend. Thank you very much!”

“Ellie gave us real confidence that our dog was in safe hands. The way she manages her own dog is exactly how we would expect. Her dog was very friendly and seemed at ease having a guest dog in the house.. She listened to my pet parent fears and was prepared for everything. 100% recommend!”

“We recently had Kellie look after our dog for the first time, and we couldn't be happpier with the experience, We received regular updates and photos which reassured us that Peppa was not only safe but happy and well cared for. We will definitely be booking Kellie again highly recommended.”

“Lynn was amazing from start to finish. She took such great care of Robyn, like she was her own. Excellent communications. I could not recommend Lynn enough and we will definitely call on her in the future.”

“Our dog Poppy has found her 2nd home! She had an absolutely wonderful stay with Ronald and wants to go back for tummy tickles. We were kept informed of how she had settled in and never had any doubts or concerns. Thanks so much! Lynne”

About: I’m new to Rover, but I’m not new to caring for dogs. I’ve had dogs in my life for 44 years and currently care for my own elderly dogs (Oscar (15) & Lucy (16)), both of whom have needed a lot of patience, routine and gentle handling as they’ve got older. Through them, I’ve gained real experience with senior dog care, sight loss, reduced hearing, medication routines, mobility issues, and understanding when a dog needs calm reassurance rather than too much fuss. I’ve also looked after puppies & dogs for friends and family, and I’m very comfortable following each dog’s normal routine closely. I know how important the little details are, from feeding times and medication to favourite blankies & toys, walking habits, nervous behaviours and the small things that help a dog feel calm and settled. I don’t think there’s anything quite like a dog. They are funny, loyal, gentle, soulful little creatures who somehow make the world feel better just by being in it. I genuinely believe dogs are one of the best things in life, and caring for them properly is something I take seriously. I work from home Monday to Friday and have a flexible schedule, so I’m around throughout the day for company, toilet breaks, feeding routines, walks and plenty of attention. I’m used to planning my day around dogs and their routines, including set meal times, medication needs, rest time and comfort. Walks can be fitted around my working day, including during my breaks or any walking meetings I have with my team. I am currently offering boarding in my own home, as my own dogs have a calm, steady routine and I’m always close by. I care for dogs in my own home, where I keep things calm, safe and settled. I have two elderly dogs myself, so my home is already built around a gentle routine, quiet care and close supervision. They mostly sleep now and are used to being around dogs from friends and family, including younger dogs, so the house is calm rather than busy. I’m very mindful of helping dogs feel comfortable, especially if they are older, nervous, have medical needs, or simply need a little time to settle in. I will always follow your instructions closely, including feeding routines, medication, walks, toilet breaks, sleeping arrangements and any house rules or quirks your dog may have. Every dog is different, so I’d want to understand what makes them feel safe and happy before they stay. Dogs in my care would have plenty of company throughout the day, as I work from home and am always around. They would not be left alone for long, usually no more than around 15 minutes if I needed to pop to the local shop.

“Wardah is amazing! She looked after our high energy boxer dog for 2 weeks and couldn't have done a better job. We received regular video/picture/message updates so we could see how much love and attention our pooch was getting. She treated him like her own and went above and beyond to make sure he enjoyed his stay. Thank you, Wardah 🩷”

“Lovely caring family. We felt that Rupert was in very good hands while we were away on holiday, and he was made really welcome and given a lot of love and attention. We were kept informed of how he was doing with photos and videos. I'm pretty confident he had a fun time.”

“First time away from home, and siblings Dougal and Daisy (18 months) landed on their feet with Louise C and family. She settled them both quickly and efficiently to help them adapt to to new surroundings. We hope next time will be even easier.”

About: Hi, I’m Sophie! My partner George and I recently bought our first home in Eastleigh, and we’re both huge dog lovers. While our work commitments mean we can’t have a dog of our own right now, we’d love to help others by providing caring and reliable dog walking and sitting services. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, from a Border Collie to a Lhasa Apso/Yorkie mix, and now a lovely litte Poochon. I’m very used to grooming needs and making sure coats are well cared for. I also regularly help care for family dogs, including Labradors, so I’m confident with both small and large breeds. Having experienced every stage of a dog’s life, I’m comfortable caring for energetic puppies as well as giving extra patience, attention, and love to older dogs. I work full-time across four days a week, which means I’m fully available on Tuesdays and weekends. On my days off, your dog will have my full attention. I’ll always stick to your routine and make sure your pup feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for—whether that’s during a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay. I’m happy to provide as many walks as your dog needs, along with plenty of playtime and attention. They’ll also have access to a secure garden and a safe, dog-friendly home environment. I have a fully fenced, secure garden and plenty of lovely walking routes nearby. I’m also happy to take dogs out in the car for longer walks or new environments if they enjoy that. I always aim to follow your preferences and routine to make sure you feel completely comfortable. My home does have stairs, but these can be safely blocked off if needed. Dogs are welcome to settle in wherever they feel most comfortable. You’re very welcome to bring their bed, crate, blankets, or anything familiar from home. If your dog is used to cuddling up on the sofa, they’ll be more than welcome to do the same here!

I can familiarise myself with any routine required, and happy to attend beforehand as needed to speak to the owner. I was previously an estate agent, so understand how to lock property safely and take care of the owners space and privacy. I would like to think I am reliable and trustworthy such that it can be one worry less during busy times in your schedule.
About: Hi! my name is Veronica and I am looking forward to take care of your four legs buddies😚 Both me and my partner are huge dog lovers and we have been dogsitting here in Southampton for a few years. My work hours are quite flexible and I have the opportunity to be at home a lot of time, so whatever your doggie’s routine is, I can adapt to it. Please reach out if you have any questions! I work from home most of the week from 9 to 5 (however, hours are flexible) and I am off on weekends. If I am out for work I will be back within 6 hours - however I’d let the owner know in advance I live in a spacious two bedroom apartment that doesn’t have a garden, however I’m in the city center with plenty of parks around us and there is no issues in going there several times per day!
About: I have taken care of every animal I can think of from snakes, spiders, rats, guinea pigs, fish and of course cats and dogs. I pride myself in offering affordable animal care and since my dogs passing earlier this year, I have found I have an empty space in my heart. I still dog sit for friends and dog walk for them but I'd like to now pursue this as a career with my passion for animals. I do work, so I need to work around my schedule but I do work either mornings or evenings so that is one bonus. I also drive and can take pups out and about to fulfil their energetic needs I am currently unable to offer any stays at my own home due to having 2 cats, one of which is a scaredy cat and is dog savvy but prefers to be without them I work full time which means my availability is limited. I usually book off my rover days so please still enquire but be aware I may need notice:) Also please be aware that there may be additional charges in accordance to the dog sitting request timings As a responsible pet lover, I will ask questions such as whether your pet can be on or off lead. Whether you are expecting visitors. I will always do more than one meet and greet which is free of charge. It is only walking and sitting that I charge for. This is to ensure the dog and I are a good match as your pets trust and comfort is key priority

“Shadia saved my son's birthday when she agreed to look after my puppy on short notice after we were let down by our planned sitter. It was my first time leaving him and I was quite anxious, but there was no need - Apollo had a lovely day playing with the other dogs, and Shadia kept me updated regularly with pictures of all the fun! Would definitely recommend, and will book again if we're back in the area. Thank you!”

“I chose Sophie for a day care stay for our beloved Maia, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment we met them, they were welcoming and friendly. Maia was made to feel part of the family and enjoyed spending time with Sophie, her family, and their lovely dog Theo. It was reassuring to know she was in such a caring and safe environment while we were away. Sophie kept us updated throughout the day and when we picked Maia up, she was happy, relaxed, and clearly had a wonderful time. We would highly recommend Sophie and her family to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and attentive dog sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of Maia!”

“Wardah was looking after my 4 month old energetic puppy and she did a wonderful job. Puppy received lots of cuddles and played a lot as once we got home the puppy went straight to sleep lol. “As first time users of any service through Rover, we were initially a tad anxious of dropping off our pup off for a day care session with someone else, but we found that soon went away with Amy’s attention to detail with her care and all the information and support she provided us before the trip. The drop off at her house was straightforward and very safe, with one of her pups even greeting us that helped put our pup at ease! She updated us with pictures and details of her stay throughout the day and it was lovely to see our pup having a great time away from home! I know Betsy can’t wait to come up and see Amy, Honey and the rest of the family again soon!”

Rose is so caring, loving and experienced. She kept me informed and sent pics of him throughout the day. I will use her again for boarding him 1 night and I have no hesitation that Teddy will be in safe hands!”

“Secil looked after Bertie for a whole week during g the daytime. By the second day, Bertie got excited just getting in the car as he knew he was seeing Secil again. He loved every minute, Secil was very flexible for us with early starts and later pick ups. Thank you so very much for taking care of Bertie. We will definitely be back!!”

About: I am comfortable handling energetic dogs as well as more sensitive or anxious pets. I always prioritise safety, consistency, and clear communication with owners, including photo updates and detailed summaries after each walk. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine, and I organise my schedule to ensure I can give pets my full attention during walks and visits. I have flexible availability throughout the week, including weekdays and weekends, and I’m able to accommodate morning, afternoon, or evening bookings with advance notice. Safety and trust are always my top priorities. Whether caring for pets in their owner’s home or during walks, I make sure their environment remains calm, secure, and consistent with their usual routine. In a client’s home, I respect the space completely and follow all instructions carefully — including feeding schedules, medication (if required), walk routes, and house rules. I double-check doors, gates, and harness fittings to ensure pets are always secure. During walks, I remain attentive to surroundings, avoid unsafe areas, and monitor body language to ensure your pet feels comfortable and safe. I understand that leaving your pet with someone requires trust, so I provide regular updates and photos for reassurance.

About: I'm a dog lover but sadly my work doesn't allow me to have my own so I get my fix by dog sitting for others. I frequently look after dogs for family and friends and have had only positive feedback. I work full time Monday - Friday and one weekend in four. My work is flexible and allows for home and hybrid working giving me availability for walking and drop ins. I generally work from home Monday and Friday and am normally available from 4pm Tuesday - Thursday. My job allows a level of flexibility so if my default calendar isn't showing me as available, please give me a message and we may be able to work something out. I'm an avid hiker and walker so I'm no stranger to long walks in the forest and some canine company would compliment that. I live in a bungalow just a 5 minute drive from the beautiful New Forest and 10 minutes from the local beach. The road I live in is quiet and I am the sole occupier with no pets of my own. I have a fair sized garden which is fully fenced and secure. I treat pets as I would my own and they are allowed on the furniture and the bed. I am a non smoker and maintain a tidy home. I'm strict with their diet so you can rest assured they won't be snacking on food that isn't good for them.

About: I am 18 years old and about to finish a level 3 qualification in animal management which allowed me to develop my knowledge on the care of a wide range of animals including domestics, and I was able to gain more experience with cats and dogs during practical sessions. I was taught how to complete thorough health checks (both visual and physical) to ensure I am able to monitor their health. I have had a cat since I was around four years old and I got a dog around 3 years ago so I am familiar with the typical routine of a domestic pet, plus I have some skills in dog training as I was required to train my dog for an assignment at college. Besides my own pets, I have cared for both cats and dogs since I was young as I would look after friends and family’s pets when they were away. I completed a six month placement at a kennel and cattery, during my first year of college, where I gained hands on experience with administering care for cats and dogs and I was taught to be able to recognise their behaviours and identify when something may be wrong. Last year I also volunteered at an animal shelter for a few months where the majority of my responsibilities involved caring for cats of all ages and temperaments - which included cleaning out, feeding, providing enrichment, and socialising, especially with young or nervous cats. Some of my tasks also involved working with the dogs such as cleaning out, exercising, grooming, providing enrichment, and socialising. I am currently at college 3 days a week, however I am free on Wednesdays, Friday afternoons, Saturdays and Sundays. I may also be available after college in the evenings in some cirumstances. I provide care in the pet owner’s home so that the animal can stay in a comfortable and familiar environment. I follow any specific instructions to ensure their routine is kept the same. I aim to build trust with both the animals and their owners through clear communication and reliability.
“John is fantastic with our very energetic, boisterous lab. Maple clearly loves the walks and is very excited when John arrives. He takes her such varied, long walks and we are very grateful-will definitely be booking again.”

“Ellie gave us real confidence that our dog was in safe hands. The way she manages her own dog is exactly how we would expect. Her dog was very friendly and seemed at ease having a guest dog in the house.. She listened to my pet parent fears and was prepared for everything. 100% recommend!”

“Kelly and family were wonderful dog sitters! Rupert had a fantastic time playing with the boys and was a very happy and content doggy when we picked him up! Would 100% recommend Kelly to others and we will certainly love Rupert to stay again in the future!”

“Mike and his family were brilliant, whilst they had Shadow they sent messages as to how he was settling in, photos and videos of what he was up to, Mike came across as very relaxed which helped Shadow fit in at no point were we worried that he would not be 100% looked after. If dates and availability were suitable we would not hesitate to use Mike again in the future. Again brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!”

“I couldn’t be more grateful for Clare! Clare had our dog over for almost 3 weeks over the Christmas period whilst we went away. Clare kept in touch with updates and photos and loved and treated Abel like he was her own. We were put at ease about leaving him as soon as we stepped into her house for the meet and greet. Thank you Clare (and Jess too!) for everything. You will be our first port of call if we go away again x”

“Arija was amazing with Hannah, made sure to check in regularly and I felt at ease handing her over. She asked specific questions about any allergies Hannah may have and if she could have treats outside of dog treats, which I appreciated. Highly recommend!”

“Laura looked after Mimi for 10 nights after being let down at the last minute. Laura was delightful from the moment we booked, she was communicative and warm , i immediately felt comfortable leaving Mimi with her. Mimi loved her and we were sent videos and regular updates, Mimi looked positively at home. i would absolutely have no hesitation in recommending Laura and will definitely be leaving Mimi with her in her excellent care again in the future. Thank you Laura”

“This was the second time Mea and John looked after our sausage dog Frank while we were away, and once again they were absolutely brilliant. They were incredibly kind and even offered us a pick-up, which made everything so much easier. This time around, Frank had a few issues settling down to sleep, but Mea and John were so understanding and patient with him. They kept us constantly updated with messages and lovely photos, which gave us real peace of mind. Genuinely lovely people who go above and beyond, highly recommended!”
