“Mabel recently stayed with Joanne and her family. I sent her packing (a little nervous due to it being my first rover) and with a million warnings about what she MIGHT do! 🤣 Turns out Mabel was an absolute dream so they must have been brilliant at looking after her. I had regular updates and pictures. Timings were sorted out easily and we kept in touch via Whatsapp. Joanne has a really secure garden - which made me feel so much more comfortable leaving her there. It felt like a home from home setting. I have two children of my own and Joanne's two seemed to love her as much as her own. They were super excited to have her. About: Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives and we’ve both grown up around them. We regularly care for dogs for family and friends and have experience with a range of breeds, ages, sizes and personalities, including rescue dogs who may need extra patience, reassurance and individual care. Pet care fits naturally into our routine as I work from home Monday–Thursday, my toddler attends nursery during the day, and my husband works evenings, meaning dogs will have plenty of company, supervision, walks, playtime and cuddles throughout the day in a calm, loving family home environment. We live in a detached family home with a secure, fully enclosed garden where dogs can safely play and explore. We also have our friendly Cavachon, Theo, who loves other dogs, enjoys walks, naps and playtime, and is very gentle and sociable. Dogs staying with us would be treated as part of the family, with plenty of supervision, affection, exercise and care tailored to their individual needs in a calm, safe and loving environment.

I’ve had dogs in my life for 44 years and currently care for my own elderly dogs (Oscar (15) & Lucy (16)), both of whom have needed a lot of patience, routine and gentle handling as they’ve got older. About: I am 18 years old and about to finish a level 3 qualification in animal management which allowed me to develop my knowledge on the care of a wide range of animals including domestics, and I was able to gain more experience with cats and dogs during practical sessions. I was taught how to complete thorough health checks (both visual and physical) to ensure I am able to monitor their health. I have had a cat since I was around four years old and I got a dog around 3 years ago so I am familiar with the typical routine of a domestic pet, plus I have some skills in dog training as I was required to train my dog for an assignment at college. I completed a six month placement at a kennel and cattery, during my first year of college, where I gained hands on experience with administering care for cats and dogs and I was taught to be able to recognise their behaviours and identify when something may be wrong. Last year I also volunteered at an animal shelter for a few months where the majority of my responsibilities involved caring for cats of all ages and temperaments - which included cleaning out, feeding, providing enrichment, and socialising, especially with young or nervous cats.
