“Hollie is so lovely and took great care of my cats while I was away including giving them their medications. She gave me daily updates and there were no problems throughout.”

“Lauran was amazing with my cat! So accommodating, she was consistent with communication and went above and beyond to make me feel secure and stress free while away! She send photos, great with updates, and even found a way to connect with my very antisocial cat! Definitely recommend, she followed all the requests and she showed she cared. Thank you Lauran xx”

“Thank you Hilary for being available at such short notice and willing to drop in on Maple, keeping us updated with pictures and she seemed very content when we got back”

“Lorrin is extremely professional and responds very quickly to messages on Rover. She was very accommodating when I had to change a time. My cat loves her and she sends amazing pics and updates to set My mind at rest. Would wholeheartedly recommend.”

“Keighley did a great job as always at looking after Pippi while we went away for a week. She made time in her busy set of bookings to come and feed and clean up after Pips for us and kept us updated with consistent communication and photos using the Rover card feature. Voiced her concerns around Pippi not eating as much as expected and afterwards was helpful in adjusting her feeding amounts and instructions without complaint. Reliable as always and much appreciated, thank you! X”

About: We have had animals in our past homes for 20 years me and my husband been together 22 years and also handled puppies whilst one of mine was in labour so I had a lot of experience with dogs of all different breeds. Before Dog boarding I used to look after friends and family’s dogs whilst they were away and took the leap to join officially through rover. I have a papillon now called Harvey and he likes to play has lots of fun to play with other dogs big or small , dogs seem to love coming to mine has its going from home to home without the upset or pining for there owners while they are away , they have way too much fun with toys and walks around the woods that’s backed onto me. Start the day by letting the dogs out, feeding them, and having breakfast. After that, take them for a good morning walk so they can get some exercise and explore. Once you're home, spend some time playing with them, whether it's fetch, tug, training, or games in the garden. While they rest, you can do your household jobs, relax, or enjoy a hobby. Later in the day, have lunch and enjoy some quiet time together. In the afternoon, give the dogs another play session or some enrichment, such as puzzle toys or scent games, followed by a shorter walk. In the evening, feed the dogs, have your dinner, and spend time relaxing together before taking them out for one final toilet break before bed. This keeps them active, happy, and settled throughout the day. I have quite a big garden. Patio and artificial grass which is fenced off. Very Secure Garden lots of room to play around there and squeaky toys and balls and beds to sunbathe 😜
About: I'm Naomi, your pet's new best friend, here to provide a loving and fun environment for your furry companions. I'm not only a passionate dog lover with years of experience caring for various breeds and needs, but I'm also the proud owner of a trained assistance dog. Together, we'll make sure your pet feels right at home! My home is a calm and loving space where your pet can relax and enjoy plenty of cuddles. I have experience and skills in training, socialisation, and specialised support for dogs of all ages and abilities – from lively pups to wise seniors and even those with unique needs like blindness. Your pet will be in the best of hands, as I'm well-versed in medication administration and regular grooming, and have even helped my own dog achieve the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award! I'm the go-to pet sitter for my family and friends, and I can't wait to share my love and expertise with your cherished companion. When your furry friend stays with me, they'll not only receive top-notch care but also have a blast exploring, playing, and making new memories in a nurturing environment. So, let's get to know each other and give your pet the holiday they deserve with their new best friend! Pet care fits really naturally into my life, and I genuinely love spending time with animals. I work in Fareham during the day and usually finish at 4pm, but I can pop in for visits around Fareham during my lunch break, as well as before or after work. I’m also available most evenings and weekends, and I occasionally work from home. On Fridays I finish at 12pm, so I have even more flexibility then. I’m a big fan of getting outside and especially love being at the beach, so if your dog enjoys a good walk, a bit of exploring or a trip somewhere new, even better! I’m also happy to care for dogs who are comfortable being left for a few hours while I’m at work, as long as that fits their usual routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are really important to me. I know how difficult it can be leaving your dog with someone new, so I want them to feel safe, settled and comfortable in my care. I’m a dog owner myself, so I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and little quirks. I’ll take the time to get to know your pet and follow the routines and instructions you leave for me, whether that’s feeding, walks, medication, playtime or simply giving them some company. When caring for pets in their own home, I’ll always treat your home with the same respect I would my own. I’m happy to send updates and photos while you’re away, too, so you know how your pet is getting on. Most importantly, I want them to have a calm, positive experience and for you to feel completely comfortable knowing they’re being looked after.
“We couldn’t be more happy with Kate as she’s been looking after our 2 boys, Stewie (2 year old rescue Dachshund) & Biggles (6 year old Jack Russell). Pro-active communication, lots of photos (which we love) & an obvious connection with the two dogs which she clearly loves (and they love her). We couldn’t recommend Kate more.”

“John was amazing with Thor. I am a “pet mum” full of requests and reminders , lists on the wall and especially i request a continues update. John gave me everything I requested and he was really caring and affectionate with Thor🥰 I was a little apprehensive about many things cause although Thor is not a Huge dog is anyway a dog of a certain size, I have nothing but good words about him and I will for sure book him again in the future.”

“Emily was absolutely fantastic. She is such a friendly person and as soon as we met, I knew I didn't have to worry about my old, grumpy cat while Emily was looking after her. Emily gave loads of updates which was very reassuring. I would definitely try to book with her again.”

About: I have grown up around animals and have owned a variety. I’ve had the likes of dogs, hamsters and guinea pigs just to name a few. Most recently I have owned a pug and currently live with a golden retriever. I have a lot of knowledge about flat faced breeds and know how to best care for them. Equally I have a lot of knowledge around other breeds particularly smaller ones. I have looked after friends and my families dogs when they have gone away. I have the ability to go to their houses so that their dogs stay in their own environment that’s familiar. I have also had dogs come and stay with me too. I regularly look after my friends dog when she goes to work making sure that her dog is well looked after. I have a lot of free time at the moment being in between jobs so am very flexible with my availability. I will work around what’s best for you and your pet. I will care for your pet as if it was my own. At my house dogs are allowed on the furniture and on the beds so they can have a proper cuddle. I have three beds in the house with room for their own bed if required. I have a fully enclosed garden with a 7ft fence. I also have an open field across the road and a woodlands the other side with running water. I will make sure to feed your dog as many times as needed throughout the time they are with me. There are two fresh water bowls throughout the house and one in the back garden as well so that there is always access to water. I usually keep my back door open throughout the summer time so that Olive (my friends dog) can go in and out when she pleases, as well as her swimming pool under the shade of a giant canopy. If you would like me to sit in your own home I will treat it with the upmost respect. I like to keep things clean and tidy and will leave your home as I came into it. Leave no trace.

About: Hi there! My name is Vanessa and I have been looking after dogs for over 25 years. I have owned 7 dogs in my life and had my own dog boarding business that offered a home to home setting for dogs for 10 years whilst living abroad in France. Now being back in the UK, I want to continue offering my services for any dog owner that’s in need. I have always believed that a dog should be cared for equally to the rest of the family and therefore should be treated exactly that way. Dogs are what I know best and love the most so I’m very happy to take care of them. I am also a passionate walker and having a companion is always a great pleasure. I do not work so I am able to offer full time care and attention to your pets. I have the time to care for dogs who are needing specific attention or have specific needs. I have an enclosed garden so I can always let them out as frequently as needed. I have lots of fields and forests nearby so I can offer lovely walks when needed. This is my full time job so I am able to ensure your dog gets the best care. I offer a home to home feeling for your dog. I believe it is important that your dog feels relaxed and at home when they come to stay. Every dog has his/her own needs so in order to make sure they feel settled, I am happy to go through anything they might need to feel more secure.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New Forest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
