About: Having recently retired from the Fire and Rescue Service after more than 35 years of dedicated service as a Fire Investigation Officer and Specialist Search Dog Handler, I am now offering reliable, professional 24/7 pet sitting services. I live in the heart of the New Forest, where I spend every day exercising and enjoying the outdoors with my two retired Fire Service dogs, who are now much-loved family pets. As a lifelong dog owner with over 20 years’ experience training and handling dogs alongside both the Fire and Police Services, I understand the highest standards of canine care, welfare, and behaviour. For your pet’s comfort and safety, I have a purpose-built K9 transport vehicle and am fully trained in K9 First Aid. Whether you need overnight care, extended pet sitting, or regular companionship for your dog, you can be confident they will receive experienced, compassionate, and professional care in a safe and trusted environment. Having retired from the fire service and being the owner of 2 pet dogs living in the heart of the New Forest I spend every day out and about in the fresh air with my beloved k9 companions. I live in a detached property within a quiet area of Fordingbridge with an enclosed front and rear garden covered by cctv. I have access to lots of nearby walks and can access the New Forest within 5 mins from my home address.

About: I have been looking after all kinds of pets my whole life, I’m very experienced with all types of dog or cat and I’m happy administering medications if needed, including injections. I work full time as a vet surgeon so my ability lands mostly on weekends and my regular day off Monday. I work full time as a small animal veterinary surgeon, for this reason I don’t have much availability during the week days but most weekends I am free for pet care and cuddles! Lots of love and cuddles! I am big on safety so once your dog has demonstrated that they have good recall, we can enjoy off lead walks in the forest. I love training and also desensitising pets to vet exams with lots of treats and positive reinforcement.

About: I've been doing house sitting, primarily with dogs but also with cats, chickens, sheep, ponies and even a parrot on another platform for nearly 3 years and have built up a strong 5* profile there. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to show any of that here so I'm shamefully undercutting everyone else until someone let's me prove the value that many other pet owners already know :) In terms of what might set me out from all the other amazing house sitters I keep hearing about, I guess it would have to be technology so if you want a digital dog diary or a live webcam feed so you can check in, I'm your guy. I've also worked with dogs on improving their walking on lead skills, waiting for food and basic commands. I will also happily water plants, rake leaves, mow lawns or any other general upkeep you would like doing. I enjoy the company of dogs, that's why I got into this originally but I'm also trying to build up an outdoor adventure business to help get kids to go explore the outdoors so if you select me, you'll also be supporting that business and for that, I am eternally grateful! :) When I'm not doing creating outdoor adventures, I do geeky things involving a laptop so as I set my own schedule, I'll be available for all your doggies needs as and when they arise. It can be upsetting enough for dogs when their owners are away so I just try to keep things as familiar as possible with the added benefit of extra company on tap. Dogs sense temperament in people and I'm pretty chilled so they tend to feel comfortable around me quite quickly.

About: I have been pet and house sitting part-time since 2016, and in February 2023 started doing it full-time. Although the majority of my clients have been dogs, I have also looked after cats, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, chickens, fish and horses. I have been able to gain experience of looking after toy breeds, as well as large dogs. I have looked after excited 4-month-old puppies, to dogs who are commencing their training journey, all the way through to very elderly dogs who are more leisurely in their exercise routine and require support with certain care and medical needs. I have lived in rural areas and most of my pet sits are in the forest or countryside, meaning I am used to being in remote places.  I have also looked after dogs in towns and cities.  I am in the fortunate position that I can travel quite far for my pet and house sits and I have had sits in Christchurch and Mudeford, throughout the New Forest, up to north of Salisbury (Stonehenge-way) and across towards Shaftesbury, as well as east to Portsmouth.  I can go further afield than this as well. Pet and house sitting is my full-time job and so it takes priority over other commitments I have. This means my routine adapts to the needs of the pets I am looking after at the time. One of my main hobbies is walking.  I am sure to keep to the exercise, as well as the enrichment/play time, needs and routines of your pets, but if your dog(s) is up for an adventure, I love to explore local areas and new places so they can expect to be taken on a yomp with me. Rover only allows one location to be set and then applies it to all services I provide, but in my situation, my services differ depending on the area. Therefore, for clarity, I have outlined the services in different locations below. SERVICES OFFERED: Anywhere, I can provide: - Pet/animal sitting in the pet(s)’s home. - Looking after a small holding. If you are within or close to the New Forest/Bournemouth/East Dorset/South Wiltshire area, I will do a pre-sit visit to meet you and your pet(s) so they get to know me. If you are further afield, I will do a pre-sit virtual call with you so we can meet, talk through your pet(s) needs and I can get an understanding of your house and where important things, such as pet food, are stored. In the Ringwood-Fordingbridge-Downton-Alderholt-Damerham-Rockbourne area, I can provide the following services: - Adhoc/one-off dog walking (standard 1-hour long walk), e.g. your regular dog walker is on holiday, you are ill and unable to walk your pooch(es) for a couple of days, you have a day trip planned. - Cat/kitten/small animal (rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rodents, fish, reptiles, chickens, etc) visits – let in/out, feed and fresh water, clean any mess and litter trays/cages/tanks/runs, etc, clean bowls, brush, cuddles, fuss and playtime. Chores such as plant watering and refuse disposal can be carried out as required. Please note, I can provide equine care as follows: - No riding. - Feed and fresh water, turn out, muck out stables, poo pick fields, bring in, brush horse. Having previously spent 20 years working in social care environments, I am strict on security, safety and confidentiality. I take looking after your home seriously, and I understand the needs of homeowners in looking after their home, as well as their pets. I am keen on communication to ascertain the full needs of your pets, and your home, so that I can look after them in the best way possible. I understand that leaving your pets in the care of someone else can feel unsettling for you, and sometimes your pets. I am rigorous on keeping to the routines and care plan of your pets, as well as giving them the time and play to get used to me, in order to help them settle quickly. I am in the lovely position that I have repeat pet sits and it is so heartwarming when the pets greet me in a friendly and open manner when I return. I have my own vehicle and have the appropriate business insurance to transport your pets if required.  I am DBS checked.  I also hold a Canine First Aid qualification.  Although I am new to Rover, I have been pet sitting for a number of years and can provide reviews/testimonials upon request.

About: I have grown up around animals and have owned a variety. I’ve had the likes of dogs, hamsters and guinea pigs just to name a few. Most recently I have owned a pug and currently live with a golden retriever. I have a lot of knowledge about flat faced breeds and know how to best care for them. Equally I have a lot of knowledge around other breeds particularly smaller ones. I have looked after friends and my families dogs when they have gone away. I have the ability to go to their houses so that their dogs stay in their own environment that’s familiar. I have also had dogs come and stay with me too. I regularly look after my friends dog when she goes to work making sure that her dog is well looked after. I have a lot of free time at the moment being in between jobs so am very flexible with my availability. I will work around what’s best for you and your pet. I will care for your pet as if it was my own. At my house dogs are allowed on the furniture and on the beds so they can have a proper cuddle. I have three beds in the house with room for their own bed if required. I have a fully enclosed garden with a 7ft fence. I also have an open field across the road and a woodlands the other side with running water. I will make sure to feed your dog as many times as needed throughout the time they are with me. There are two fresh water bowls throughout the house and one in the back garden as well so that there is always access to water. I usually keep my back door open throughout the summer time so that Olive (my friends dog) can go in and out when she pleases, as well as her swimming pool under the shade of a giant canopy. If you would like me to sit in your own home I will treat it with the upmost respect. I like to keep things clean and tidy and will leave your home as I came into it. Leave no trace.
