“Thanks Diana. I know you were there 9.50 - 10.30 so thank you! Like me, you're getting to grips with how the Rover App works as I know I'm your first customer. Importantly, you followed all my instructions and clearly, Millie had a lovely walk and cuddles!”

“Abi is friendly, enthusiastic and easy to communicate with. We would definitely have her back to look after our cats in the future! She also looked after our guinea pigs too. She really did an excellent job! Thank you so much! See you soon!!”
“Our cat was very content around Roxana who visited him for a week while we were on holiday. She sent videos every day which was invaluable in allowing us to relax in the knowledge that our friend was in good hands. We won’t hesitate to pick her again if she’s available. Top class”

About: I'm David, currently completing my professional dog trainer certification. I offer patient, structured care for dogs of all ages and temperaments — from energetic pups needing a good walk to older dogs who just want a calm, familiar face. My training background means I'm confident handling leash manners, basic obedience, and dogs who need a bit of extra structure or reassurance while their owners are away. Based in Poole, I treat every dog in my care like my own — with consistency, patience, and genuine attention. Monday to Thursday is when I'm most available for drop-ins. I also work night shifts on weekends, so I can fit in daytime visits before my shift starts on those days too. I keep a consistent schedule so your dog can rely on the same times and pace each visit, and I'm happy to discuss specific timing needs before booking to make sure it works for both of us. Your dog's safety is my top priority. I use secure leashes and harnesses, avoid off-lead situations unless explicitly agreed with you, and stay alert to other dogs, traffic, and wildlife on every walk. I'm currently completing professional dog trainer certification, which means I'm trained to read canine body language and step in early if a situation looks like it could escalate.

“Alexandra took care of our 2 cats Ackee and Truffle whilst we were on holiday and she was great at keeping us posted about her daily visits with lots of pics and videos! Despite our cats being quite difficult, Alexandra has been understanding and patient - we’re very happy to have found her and we’ll definitely call her again! Thank you!”

“Tuesday looked after our two very shy cats while we were away, we were a bit nervous about leaving them but we're very reassured by her pre-sitting questions and visit, and by the videos and pictures she sent during the time we were away. Thank you for facilitating a lovely Christmas for us seeing family we'd not seen in years, would definitely recommend and we'll be coming straight to you for future sitting needs :)”

“Sophie did a pop in visit for me to let my dogs out & give them some love & attention while I was away for the day. I can recommend her to you. She’s reliable & trustworthy & I wouldn’t hesitate to use her services again. Thank you Sophie!”

About: Hello, I am Carol from Hong Kong now based in Poole, Dorset. I love all kinds of furry animals and had 2 dogs and 2 cats in the past. I adopt them from rescues and from friends when they were babies and took good care of my animal family members until they passed away in very old age (16-20yrs). Now they all reunited on the other side of the rainbow bridge and I have the window of my life to travel around the World. As a loving and very responsible human companion to my furry families, I do understand the desire of travelling if there is a good and trusty hand to stay and take care of our animal families in their most comfortable place - HOME! Well, of course they will miss you while you are away, but I am sure they understand that you will come back home soon with beautiful smile, scent and aura. Look forward to meet you, if I have the chance. Let's live our life with love and passion! I am working remotely for my holiday letting business, so my schedule is very flexible. Just let me know your schedule and I will try my best to accommodate. I have pet sit 5 dogs and 4 cats so far this year and all owners are satisfied with my work with 5 stars reviews. I always check and lock windows and doors every night. I also make sure dogs and cats are safe at home during the night time. The best way to enhance the safety and trust is to walk the dogs with the owners at least one time to understand the routines and the home ( or walking routes ) environment.

About: I grew up with dogs and understand the need to leave your pooch in the hands of someone you trust. I would be happy to meet up before you put your dog in our care to see if we are the right fit for you and to talk through your dog’s routine/requirements. I work in education (DBS checked) so therefore have a lot of time in the holidays to look after your dog. I also work part time so can offer dog walks/drops ins on days I am off. I have 2 children who adore dogs so I could only offer our services to dogs who are good with children. We would only be able to care for small or medium sized dogs due to their ages. We have a secure garden to provide enrichment for your dog whilst they stay with us. We live close to some gorgeous parks and the beach so could provide some lovely long walks. I work part time so am available Mondays and Fridays and most weekends. We are an active family who enjoy long walks on the weekend so would love to have a dog join the fun. We provide a secure garden for your dog to have enrichment outdoors. We would listen carefully to your dog’s requirements and routine and will provide photos of your dog having lots of fun. We would prefer it if your dog would be happy to sleep downstairs.

This was our second time booking Darcey to look after Rainbow and Tinkerbell, and once again she was great. She’s reliable, easy to deal with, and kept us updated with photos while we were away. It was lovely coming home to two happy, relaxed cats. We’d definitely book her again. Thanks Darcey.

We couldn't have asked for a better sitter than Louisa! She looked after Heath for two weeks during her drop-in visits and was incredibly reliable, attentive, and caring. The updates and photos she sent made being away so much easier. Heath took to her right away, and it's clear she treated him like her own. I highly recommend Louisa and will definitely book her again! Thank you so much x

Caroline was fantastic with our cats. Both are nervous of strangers but require daily inhalers administered, meaning carers need to win them over quickly so they can be handled. She did this brilliantly and her updates showed us that she got the measure of their individual personalities perfectly. We're very happy with our booking - Caroline even took pity on my tomato plants during the heatwave and watered them!

Jasmine was such a massive help when we couldn’t find anyone to look after our dogs. She treated my dogs like they were her own, and they will miss her so much. She was quick to reply to any queries I had. She tended to all my dogs needs, one of which is very demanding with her ball! She went in depth after each visit letting me know how the dogs were, and took some super cute pics of them too! I will definitely be using her again in the future! Thank you so much Jasmine!

This is my first time using a dogsitter on Rover, having recently adopted a rescue dog. I’m glad to say it was a very smooth experience. Aljona and her partner came for a quick visit the weekend before so that Benny could make their acquaintance and I could show them where everything was. On the day itself, they arrived punctually to spend an hour with Benny, playing with him, giving him his dinner and taking him for a short walk. It was very reassuring to receive a few photos and a video showing Benny totally at ease. So a big thank you from both myself and Benny, Aljona! I’m sure Benny will see you again soon.

Anastasia accessed my property with no additionally help and was respectful of my property. Additionally she communicated my dog was nervous and the actions she took to overcome it. It was really reassuring and helpful to know that my dog was safe with her. She arrived on time and left an informative rover card. Thank you Anastasia.

Angel looked after my dog while we were away. She sent regular pictures and updates. She was really helpful and came to visit Casper before we left to get to know what was needed. I felt really comfortable leaving Casper with her and she is very trustworthy. Thank you so much angel. I would definitely Recommend Angel to anyone !

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Poole choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
