“Carol was absolutely wonderful with Nina! From the very beginning, she was attentive, caring, and made sure Nina felt right at home. I received regular updates, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It’s clear she truly loves dogs and treats them like her own. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top-notch sitter, and I will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I have experience with anxious dogs, as well as more energetic ones. I like to play with them and give them attention whenever they want. I am working part-time so I have lots of free time to look after your dog/cat. I have a couple of days off a week, but I only work small shifts, so I am quite flexible. My family dog is quite anxious, so I have experience in calming him down and being able to distract him. I love to play with them and keep them entertained.
“Absolutely lovely.. Nia came over for an initial visit to meet us - on the day she turned up nice and early.. took charge and did regular updates. Our dog has had a recent operation and was in a cone and Nos was amazing . No hesitation in recommending her..”

About: I provide calm, loving, and reliable care, treating every pet as if they were my own. I had the privilege of owning a beautiful Husky for three years, which gave me hands-on experience with an energetic, intelligent breed that thrives on exercise, routine, and companionship. Since then, I’ve looked after a variety of dogs through house sitting, including a Whippet, a Jack Russell, and, most recently, a wonderful Standard Poodle. I’ve also cared for a lovely cat, so I’m comfortable looking after both dogs and cats and adapting to each pet’s unique personality and needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, so I focus on providing plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and keeping to their usual routine, helping them feel safe, happy, and relaxed while you’re away. I work full-time Monday to Friday from 8am–4pm, with the flexibility to work from home on Thursdays and Fridays. This means I’m available for house sitting, drop-in visits, or daytime walks on those days. Outside of work, I’m happy to provide evening visits, overnight house sitting, and weekend care with a little advance notice. I’m reliable, caring, and will always treat your pets like they’re my own, making sure they receive plenty of love, attention, playtime, and care while you’re away. Whether you have a playful pup who loves walks or a cat who enjoys company and cuddles, I’d love to help and give you peace of mind knowing they’re in safe hands. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. As I provide care in your home, I’ll always follow your instructions to ensure your pet feels relaxed and secure in their familiar environment. I’m happy to arrange a meet-and-greet before any booking so we can get to know each other, discuss your pet’s routine, and make sure they’re comfortable with me. If you use a key safe or access code, I’m more than happy to use this, or you can let me know the best way to access your home. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), or simply keeping your pet company with plenty of cuddles, I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your furry friend is happy and well looked after while you’re away.
“Tuesday is just the best! My dog Coco felt comfortable with her from day 1, she listened to cocos needs and I felt so at ease whilst I went away for the weekend knowing coco was in safe hands . Would definitely recommend!”

About: I’ve been around dogs for most of my life and have had my own large Springador for 14 years that I grew up with, giving me extensive hands-on experience with dog care. As a large, energetic breed, he could be quite challenging at times, which has taught me patience, confidence, and how to handle dogs with different personalities and behaviours. I regularly walk my dog and am comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, whether they’re calm, energetic, or still working on their lead manners. Through years of training and caring for my own dog, I’ve developed a good understanding of their behaviour, safety, and exercise needs. I’m also a big cat lover. I’ve looked after a friend’s cat while they were away, ensuring they were fed, comfortable, and well cared for and I wish to have one later in life. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether you need a dog walker or someone to drop in and check on your pet, I’m reliable, caring, and committed to making sure your pets feel safe, happy, and well looked after. Im currently a student finished with college so have allot of free time and currently no job from my experience this would be a perfect opportunity to start earning money. I care for pets in the comfort of their own home to keep them relaxed and in their usual routine. I follow any instructions provided by the owner closely, including feeding schedules, walking times, and any specific care needs. When looking after dogs, I make sure they get the right amount of exercise, attention, and toilet breaks, while always keeping them safe on walks. For cats, I ensure they are fed, have fresh water, clean litter trays if needed, and receive plenty of gentle attention if they want it. I’m very respectful of people’s homes and always make sure everything is left clean and secure. My goal is to make pets feel comfortable and cared for while giving owners peace of mind while they’re away.
“Chris has looked after Daisy twice, both times in our home. He was reliable, his communications were great and we had every confidence that Daisy was being well cared for. We would be very happy for him to come and sit again.”

About: I am a 19 year old University Student looking to make a little extra money doing things I love over the summer: pampering pets and enjoying the outdoors. I have had two of my own dogs since being little, helping to walk, wash and feed them. They are miniature schnauzers, Lily and Tasha, mother and daughter, with lots of attitude (typical to the breed). My Grandma has been a professional poodle and schnauzer groomer for 60 years, showing, judging, and breeding them. I have helped at many dogs shows and watched her judge at Crufts. I live in Poole, Dorset with lots of scenic landscapes- beaches and parks perfect for walks. I climbed Mount Snowdon last summer and frequently go on walks with my boyfriend. I am home from University for summer holidays in June to October. I have no job so am free in the days all day. I have a holiday booked in the first half of August. I do not drive but make use of other transports methods. When my boyfriend is free from work we are planning on using my National Trust card to for walks and hikes (he drives). My parents are also happy to give me lifts when needed. I have a fenced garden. Two dogs at home, but they are old and may be nervous around other dogs, so I am only offering to look after your dogs in your homes/ keep the walking separated.
About: I’ve been a lifelong dog lover and have had cockapoos in my family since 2012. I live close to my parents and regularly walk and look after their dogs Tilly and Kira. I have them to stay whilst my parents are away, so caring for dogs has always been part of my daily life. I am a go to for friends and family. My parents’ lovely dog Kira is a rescue and regularly shows behaviours including resource guarding, high prey drive, and reactivity, which has given me valuable knowledge and skills in managing different behaviours with patience, understanding, and positive handling techniques. I now have a home of my own with easy access to a secure garden, providing a safe and comfortable environment for dogs to relax and play. I have plenty of time, love, and attention to give, ensuring every dog feels happy, cared for, and at home. While I work as a busy solicitor, I have flexible free time on certain days when I work from home and at weekends, which allows me to offer reliable dog walking and boarding services. Your dog will be treated like family, with lots of care, exercise, and affection. Each week varies, but I’m usually available to care for your dog on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday as these are the days I work from home, as well as some weekends. I have an open plan house with patio doors leading out to a small fenced and fully enclosed garden. On the days I am working from home, I will do this downstairs so that your pet has supervision and company at all times. They are welcome to relax on the sofa! At night, I would prefer if they are able to sleep downstairs alone however I can be flexible if they need to be with me.
About: Having grown up with dogs, cats and horses. I am a huge animal lover. I have pet sat and dog walked from a very young age. At the age of 16 I trained a disobedient male Labrador called Buddy, the family told me I changed their life. I have a way with animals, I love cuddles, walks and playing. I am always happy to assist with looking after pets other than dogs and cats too. No pet is too much for me and with me, they’ll be guaranteed to be spoiled with love. I usually work away on superyachts but I have come home to take a break and possibly find a change of career. Animals have always been the centre of my world and I am hoping this can go further. I will follow all instructions given to keep your pet as safe as possible! I am also happy for pets to stay upstairs with me if this is what they’re used too or shut downstairs if that’s your preference.

“Amber look after our two dogs while we were away. She was absolutely fantastic, great communication, shared with us updates and lots of pictures of them, making our holiday even more enjoyable as we knew our babies were in safe hands. I’d recommend her and would book again with her in the future. Thanks Amber!”

“Don’t really want to leave feedback as I want to keep Shanice all for myself😀it was the first time I’ve ever used a sitter for my super old crazy dog so was quite apprehensive about it. Shanice came and met me a few days before and put my mind at rest. Totally fabulous and lovely and sweet and really cared about looking after my dog. She sent me loads of updates over the weekend and when I got back, all in order and lovely clean house as well. Will definitely be booking Shanice in the future as I do travel a lot and need someone trustworthy to look after my Peki crazy dog, ❤️”

“Thank you so much Vanessa, you went above and beyond. George had a wonderful ‘holiday’ with you 😊 I don’t think he even missed me - which is fabulous. I loved all the pictures from your trips out. The house looked great as well. Thank you so much for staying on for a while, after my flight was delayed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone!!”

“Roxanna was so wonderful to Baker! Baker is a nervous dog and she made him feel at home and ease. She took him on lots of walks and spent a lot of time with him. I also got a ton of pictures and videos which made it easier being away. Highly recommend Roxanna!!”

About: My family had owned pets pretty much my whole life, from small animals like gerbils and budgies, to dogs and cats! As a somewhat paranoid pet owner myself, I know how nerve wracking it can be to leave your pets care to someone else, and as a result I aim to give the same standard of care as I would for my own pets. I am also able to provide care for birds. as I am at home from university over the summer period, I am very flexible in terms of when I am available to provide pet care. The care I provide can vary depending on the needs of your pet. I will ensure their environment is safe at all times, paying careful attention to any specific hazards or concerns you may have. And of course walking/feeding/playing.

About: Hi, I’m Lily, a passionate animal lover and experienced pet carer offering a safe, loving home environment for your pets. I work as a children’s social worker, which means I am around throughout the day and can provide plenty of supervision, companionship, and care for pets in my home. My professional background means I am highly responsible, trustworthy, calm under pressure, and experienced in meeting individual needs. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and rabbits. I currently have two house rabbits of my own, who are kept in their own separate room away from any dogs attending doggy daycare, so everyone can remain safe and comfortable. Over the years, I have carried out drop-in visits, feeding sessions, pop-ins, and dog walking for others. I am confident in managing pets with different personalities, routines, and needs, and I understand how important it is for owners to know their pets are in safe hands. Whether your pet needs company during the day, a walk, feeding visits, or loving care while you’re away, I will treat them as if they were my own, with patience, attention, and lots of affection. I would love to meet you and your pet and provide a caring, reliable service you can trust. I work from home during the week, which means pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and allows me to provide regular supervision, companionship, toilet breaks, feeding, and attention throughout the day. I am able to build walks, playtime, and care around my schedule, ensuring pets are not left alone for long periods. My evenings and weekends are also flexible, allowing me to accommodate dog walks, drop-in visits, and daycare depending on your pet’s needs and routine. In my home, I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets are supervised, given regular toilet breaks, exercise, playtime, and lots of affection. I always follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walk preferences, and any individual needs. I have two free roaming house rabbits of my own, who will be kept on a separate floor away from any dogs attending daycare, ensuring a safe environment for all animals. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I respect their routine and home environment, making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for in familiar surroundings. Whether this is feeding, drop-in visits, companionship, or walks, I take the time to understand each pet’s personality and needs and always provide reliable, attentive care.

LOOK NO FURTHER. Hannah looked after our dog Mia while we were away. I was very nervous to leave Mia with someone else because Mia and I never been apart for that long since Mia was a puppy. Hannah made me feel very comfortable from the beggining. I prepared a very extensive guide for Hannah and when she arrived to sit Mia, I could see Hannah spent time reading it before coming as she already knew few of Mia’s quirks. During her stay, Hannah kept me well informed through the day with loads of photos and videos which I am so thankful for. Hannah stayed at my place in the hottest week of the year, and she was always been mindful of the heat. By day 2 I felt really relaxed and knew I made the right choise for Mia. Hannah took Mia to a cafe which she loved. Hannah also followed all my guidelines I asked her to and looked after Mia as if she was her own dog. Thank you SO much Hannah for taking such good care of my little doggy. Mia is very much looking forward to seeing you again in September.

Tom was amazing! He was happy to come for a meet and greet prior to our first booking which was lovely. He provided excellent communication, keeping us updated with messages, photos and a phone call throughout the day. He was friendly, flexible, accommodating, and put us at ease knowing our fur babies were going to be well looked after 💕🐾 I would highly recommend him for any pet sitting services! Thank you Tom

Amy was really great and professional from our first contact. We made a last minute request for house sitting our Labrador, Hardy. Amy got back very quickly and came over for a meet and greet. Hardy was completely comfortable with her and she was great with him. Amy's stay with Hardy was great for us, she was prompt and gave regular feed back. Hardy was very content when we got home. We would have no problem with recommending Amy and will certainly ask her to sit for Hardy in the future.
As newbies to Rover, we were of course a little apprehensive about inviting new people to look after our fur baby. How lovely was Charlie, and his charming partner. Punctual, polite and presentable, it very obvious that he is kind and caring and our girl seemed very comfortable. Suki doesn't bond to easily with new people, but we believe this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. We have already booked Charlie again.

Would give 10 stars if I could. Chloe was fantastic. She looked after our 3 dogs superbly and was extremely diligent at giving the epileptic dog her meds on time multiple times through the day. The house was kept spotlessly clean, Chloe messaged us multiple times a day to give updates, and even helped an extra couple of hours when our flight home was delayed. Can’t thank you enough Chloe and will definitely be using you again!

Thank you so much Vanessa, you went above and beyond. George had a wonderful ‘holiday’ with you 😊 I don’t think he even missed me - which is fabulous. I loved all the pictures from your trips out. The house looked great as well. Thank you so much for staying on for a while, after my flight was delayed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Poole walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Poole choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
