About: I have experience with anxious dogs, as well as more energetic ones. I like to play with them and give them attention whenever they want. I am working part-time so I have lots of free time to look after your dog/cat. I have a couple of days off a week, but I only work small shifts, so I am quite flexible. My family dog is quite anxious, so I have experience in calming him down and being able to distract him. I love to play with them and keep them entertained.

“We can’t thank Hannah enough for taking such wonderful care of Odie while we were away. He was looked after incredibly well, and it was so reassuring to receive daily updates and photos, which gave us real peace of mind throughout our break away. Hannah also went the extra mile by watering our garden, which we really appreciated. When we returned home, everything was exactly as we had left it, which was another reflection of the care and respect Hannah showed for our home. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter. We’ll definitely be booking with Hannah again for our future holidays. Thank you so much, Hannah!”

“Roxanna was so wonderful to Baker! Baker is a nervous dog and she made him feel at home and ease. She took him on lots of walks and spent a lot of time with him. I also got a ton of pictures and videos which made it easier being away. Highly recommend Roxanna!!”

“Emilee is the most caring person you could put your trust in to care for your home and animals. She put our minds completely at rest and sent beautiful updates and did extra helpful jobs .. 100 % reliable, professional and super caring.. Hope to have her again and would recommend to everyone! So blessed to have found her..”

About: I'm David, currently completing my professional dog trainer certification. I offer patient, structured care for dogs of all ages and temperaments — from energetic pups needing a good walk to older dogs who just want a calm, familiar face. My training background means I'm confident handling leash manners, basic obedience, and dogs who need a bit of extra structure or reassurance while their owners are away. Based in Poole, I treat every dog in my care like my own — with consistency, patience, and genuine attention. Monday to Thursday is when I'm most available for drop-ins. I also work night shifts on weekends, so I can fit in daytime visits before my shift starts on those days too. I keep a consistent schedule so your dog can rely on the same times and pace each visit, and I'm happy to discuss specific timing needs before booking to make sure it works for both of us. Your dog's safety is my top priority. I use secure leashes and harnesses, avoid off-lead situations unless explicitly agreed with you, and stay alert to other dogs, traffic, and wildlife on every walk. I'm currently completing professional dog trainer certification, which means I'm trained to read canine body language and step in early if a situation looks like it could escalate.
“Tuesday is just the best! My dog Coco felt comfortable with her from day 1, she listened to cocos needs and I felt so at ease whilst I went away for the weekend knowing coco was in safe hands . Would definitely recommend!”

About: I have grown up with dogs, specifically golden retrievers and labradors. However I have looked after small dogs, fluffy dogs, dogs heavier than me(!), dogs with high energy and ones that are perfect therapy dogs 😅🥰 But most importantly I love and care for them all the same way 💕💕 I currently have the summer off from work as I work in a school, so I am home 24/7. I’m very active and love to explore new places🥰🥰 I live in a bottom floor flat with our own entry, with a non-fenced garden. It is not near a main road. I’m happy to crate dogs if needed, or they can be out all day with me ☺️☺️
“Absolutely lovely.. Nia came over for an initial visit to meet us - on the day she turned up nice and early.. took charge and did regular updates. Our dog has had a recent operation and was in a cone and Nos was amazing . No hesitation in recommending her..”

“As soon as I met Elisabeth I knew straight away that I could 100% trust her with my puppy Dex - as he’s still young, he is cautious about being left with people when I’m not there, but he warmed to Elisabeth straight away. Thank you so much for looking after him while I went out for the evening, and hopefully see you again soon 🥰”

About: I provide calm, loving, and reliable care, treating every pet as if they were my own. I had the privilege of owning a beautiful Husky for three years, which gave me hands-on experience with an energetic, intelligent breed that thrives on exercise, routine, and companionship. Since then, I’ve looked after a variety of dogs through house sitting, including a Whippet, a Jack Russell, and, most recently, a wonderful Standard Poodle. I’ve also cared for a lovely cat, so I’m comfortable looking after both dogs and cats and adapting to each pet’s unique personality and needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, so I focus on providing plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and keeping to their usual routine, helping them feel safe, happy, and relaxed while you’re away. I work full-time Monday to Friday from 8am–4pm, with the flexibility to work from home on Thursdays and Fridays. This means I’m available for house sitting, drop-in visits, or daytime walks on those days. Outside of work, I’m happy to provide evening visits, overnight house sitting, and weekend care with a little advance notice. I’m reliable, caring, and will always treat your pets like they’re my own, making sure they receive plenty of love, attention, playtime, and care while you’re away. Whether you have a playful pup who loves walks or a cat who enjoys company and cuddles, I’d love to help and give you peace of mind knowing they’re in safe hands. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. As I provide care in your home, I’ll always follow your instructions to ensure your pet feels relaxed and secure in their familiar environment. I’m happy to arrange a meet-and-greet before any booking so we can get to know each other, discuss your pet’s routine, and make sure they’re comfortable with me. If you use a key safe or access code, I’m more than happy to use this, or you can let me know the best way to access your home. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), or simply keeping your pet company with plenty of cuddles, I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your furry friend is happy and well looked after while you’re away.
About: My family had owned pets pretty much my whole life, from small animals like gerbils and budgies, to dogs and cats! As a somewhat paranoid pet owner myself, I know how nerve wracking it can be to leave your pets care to someone else, and as a result I aim to give the same standard of care as I would for my own pets. I am also able to provide care for birds. as I am at home from university over the summer period, I am very flexible in terms of when I am available to provide pet care. The care I provide can vary depending on the needs of your pet. I will ensure their environment is safe at all times, paying careful attention to any specific hazards or concerns you may have. And of course walking/feeding/playing.
“Shanice came and stayed at our house, looking after our two dogs for a couple of days. She was great with them and they were well looked after. Great communication from Shanice before the dates came, and whilst we were away. Would be happy to have Shanice look after our dogs again, and recommended her to others.”

About: I had a dog when I was growing up in Italy during my teenage years for 13 years. After that, I had two cats (who are basically my whole world), but they are currently in Italy with my parents. So I completely understand what it means to go on vacation and not have anyone to look after your little fur babies. And that’s where I come in. I will do my absolute best to make your pets feel at home, loved, cuddled, and give them all the attention and care they need. I work full-time in healthcare, so being responsible, organised and attentive comes naturally to me. Your pet’s wellbeing and your home will always be treated with respect. I am working 42 hours weekly in a nursing home in Branksome, doing 3 long days (7-19) and one half day every week (7-13 or 13-19). I live in a flat really close to the beach. I have no garden, but I’m happy to take your dog for a walk by the beach, run together, have fun and enjoy the sun.
“Chris has looked after Daisy twice, both times in our home. He was reliable, his communications were great and we had every confidence that Daisy was being well cared for. We would be very happy for him to come and sit again.”

About: Hi, I’m Kaya! I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to gentle seniors. I offer reliable and attentive house sitting, providing your dog with consistent care in the comfort of their own home. I prioritise keeping their routine as normal as possible, whether that’s walks, feeding schedules, playtime, or simply companionship, so they feel safe and settled while you’re away. I understand how important trust is when leaving your home and pet in someone else’s care. I treat every dog as if they were my own and every home with the utmost respect. About: As a self-employed personal trainer and online fitness coach, I have a flexible schedule and lead an active lifestyle, so I'm able to give dogs plenty of time, attention and exercise throughout the day. I've grown up surrounded by dogs and have lots of family dogs, so caring for them has always been a big part of my life. My mum is also a professional dog walker and pet sitter, so I've seen first-hand the level of care, responsibility and attention that goes into looking after other people's pets. It's given me a great understanding of how important it is to keep dogs happy, safe and settled while their owners are away. I've also looked after dogs for family and friends, whether that's taking them for walks, keeping them company or caring for them in their own home. I understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, so I'll always tailor my care to suit their individual needs. I'm reliable, organised and respectful of both your home and your dog's routine. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime or simply relaxing with company, I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention and affection. I'll also keep you updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your dog is in safe hands. I'm happy caring for dogs of different sizes and energy levels and will always follow any feeding instructions, medication schedules and walking routines provided. My goal is to make sure your dog feels comfortable, loved and well cared for from the moment we meet. As a self-employed personal trainer and online fitness coach, I have a flexible schedule which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. My days are a mix of working with clients, creating online coaching plans and training myself, but I’m able to plan my schedule around walks, drop-in visits and caring for pets in their own home. I enjoy being outdoors and staying active, so dog walks fit naturally into my routine. I’m am flexible with my availability for visits depending on your pet’s needs, and I’m happy to discuss their usual routine to make sure they feel comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. I understand how important it is to feel confident that your pet and home are in safe hands. When caring for pets in their own home, I will always respect their environment, routines and individual needs to help them feel comfortable and settled while you’re away. Before any booking, I like to learn about your pet’s personality, usual routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs and any specific requirements so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free for them. I’m a reliable, organised and tidy person, and I will treat your home with the same care and respect I would expect for my own. I’ll always follow your instructions carefully, keep your pet’s safety as my priority and provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“From the moment Thomas arrived to meet Nova & Stella we knew that our babies would be more than comfortable with him. He made sure he was at our place spot on time as requested as we were leaving for the whole day, from the moment he entered the dogs were happy and comfortable. Throughout the day he kept us updated with picture and how the dogs behaved on their long walks. We couldn't be happier with Thomas and will have him look after our dogs whenever we need to head out again.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Poole
This was the third time this year that Hannah has looked after our golden retriever at our house. We went away knowing that he would be well looked after, safe and happy. We could therefore relax and enjoy our holiday. As usual Hannah sent us regular updates on how he was doing which was great. Hannah has a genuine love for dogs and makes sure that Finley has fun whilst we are away. Thanks again Hannah!

Tom was amazing! He was happy to come for a meet and greet prior to our first booking which was lovely. He provided excellent communication, keeping us updated with messages, photos and a phone call throughout the day. He was friendly, flexible, accommodating, and put us at ease knowing our fur babies were going to be well looked after 💕🐾 I would highly recommend him for any pet sitting services! Thank you Tom

Amy was really great and professional from our first contact. We made a last minute request for house sitting our Labrador, Hardy. Amy got back very quickly and came over for a meet and greet. Hardy was completely comfortable with her and she was great with him. Amy's stay with Hardy was great for us, she was prompt and gave regular feed back. Hardy was very content when we got home. We would have no problem with recommending Amy and will certainly ask her to sit for Hardy in the future.
As newbies to Rover, we were of course a little apprehensive about inviting new people to look after our fur baby. How lovely was Charlie, and his charming partner. Punctual, polite and presentable, it very obvious that he is kind and caring and our girl seemed very comfortable. Suki doesn't bond to easily with new people, but we believe this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. We have already booked Charlie again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Poole walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Poole choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
