“Jade looked after our puppy for the first time this evening, she sent photo's and videos along with messages to let us know he was OK and being well looked after. We have booked Jade again and are more than happy to say, we trust her whole heartedly to look after him. We can relax knowing he is being so well looked after by Jade.”

“My booking with Karen was the first time I had used a dog sitting service which was going to be an experience for my 2 dogs and myself! Karen arrived in good time and was calm and confident and by the time I left to go out for the day my terrier and cocker spaniel were very happy with Karen, as was I, and I left feeling it was going to be a good day. It was. Thank you Karen. I have already booked again.”

“Venezia was a great help. First time leaving my puppy alone i felt at ease knowing he was in safe hands. When i got home Buddy was happy and content. Venezia kept in contact with me and sent me pics. Would defo recommend and use again. Thank you 😀”

“Hannah was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. She took such great care of my cat, Dobby, and it was clear she genuinely cared about her wellbeing. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat and a flat that was spotless and very well looked after. Her communication was excellent throughout, she kept me updated regularly, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. It’s such a relief knowing everything at home was in such capable hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to have Hannah stay again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, thoughtful, and reliable.”

“Christine was great, she looked after my two cane corso’s, one is a puppy and can be hard work. She kept me updated throughout and I could tell they loved their time with Christine by how sad they were after she had gone! The house was left spotless a lot more than when I left it (you didn’t have to). Would definitely recommend Christine your pets will be in good hands. Thank you!”

Whether it’s a long walk, playtime, or quiet company, I tailor care to each pup’s needs! 🐕✨ I have just finished university, and my free time mostly consist of reading, studying, hanging out with friends or a combination — often the perfect time to have a furry friend join me! My schedule is flexible, so I can offer plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays, especially on weekends and afternoons. I live close to several lovely green spaces, perfect for safe and fun walks. I keep my environment calm and clean, ensuring pets feel comfortable and cared for. Whether your dog enjoys playtime, cuddles, or quiet rest, I’ll make sure they feel right at home and completely safe while you’re away.
“Hannah took such great care of our pups and our home while we were away for a week. She is very personable, easy to communicate with and insightful when it came to learning our pets’ needs. We really appreciated how she got to know each of our dogs and catered to them individually. She provided great updates when we checked in with her throughout the week! Our dogs loved her from the moment they met her! It was so great to have peace of mind while we were away. 10/10 would book with Hannah again!!”

“Matias took great care of Albert, he is a great sitter. Amazing communication and daily updates with photos. I am happy to have booked him and will use him again as came back home to a happy dog. I highly recommend him?”

“Karen is wonderful-with my dog and staying at my home. She provided timely updates and it was lovely to know Mocha was getting such high quality care and attention. I know we will be asking her back for future trips!”

“Griff was very comfortable with Amelia for her first half-day of care at my home. No problems with walking him on lead and following his feed regime. I'll now use Amelia for a week of house sitting.”
“Cam was brilliant, such a natural with my dog and was very relaxed and easy to get along with. I felt really reassured when I was away that my dog was being really well cared for and was having lots of fun! House was very tidy when I returned home too! Will definitely ask Cam to dogsit again!”

“Sophie has done a few day sits with Lina so they could get to know each other. This was the first house sit. I got daily updates and photos and Lina really relaxed. The house was immaculate when we got back. I am so happy we found Sophie. We are already booked in for another house sit!”

“My 2 small dogs Molly and Kim liked Amber straight away cuddling up to her. I felt safe leaving them with her. On my return the dogs were happy and obviously enjoyed being cared for by Amber. Amber left the house clean and tidy. Thank you Amber”

“Lisa-Ann took wonderful care of our Red Labrador, Rex, taking the time to get to know him and us beforehand. Our doggie enjoyed wonderful walks and fun whilst we were away for the week and was very relaxed in her company. Her experience and love of dogs is excellent, alongside her communication to us throughout. Highly recommend Lisa-Ann, who gave over and above. We hope another opportunity arises in the future for Rex to hang out with Lisa-Ann and her family again, thank you!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life and feel I am able to forge special bonds with them. Over the last few years I’ve looked after dogs of friends as well as family providing house/dog sitting and occasional day care as required. I am currently studying online from home, so I have flexible availability, and am happy to talk with you to discuss any needs you may have. “Kate looked after Ozzy with so much love, care, and attention. It was clear from the start that she genuinely cares about animals, and we felt completely at ease knowing he was in such capable hands. Ozzy was happy, relaxed, and very well looked after when we returned. Kate also went above and beyond by watering our flowers during the heatwave, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. She is responsible, reliable, and kind, and we couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. We highly recommend Kate to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets.”

Hannah stayed in my home for a week to look after my dog, Bentley, while I was away on holiday, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. From the moment I left, I felt completely at ease knowing Bentley and my home were in such safe and trustworthy hands. Hannah treated both with genuine care and respect. She kept me updated with lovely photos and messages throughout the week, striking the perfect balance—keeping me reassured without bombarding me while I was trying to enjoy my holiday. Her communication was excellent, and she was always happy to get in touch if she had any questions. Bentley is a bit of a quirky little dog with his own routines and personality, and Hannah really took the time to understand his individual needs. He had plenty of walks, lots of love and attention, and it was obvious he’d been very well cared for. I came home to a happy, relaxed dog and a tidy home, which was lovely to return to. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, trustworthy, and thoughtful dog sitter. Thank you so much, Hannah!
Favourite sitter by miles! Thank you so much for looking after Draco! Loved that he bonded with you straight away! Tabea has a lovely energy about her and I will be booking again! Our home was spotless and Draco was snoring away from having such a wonderful day! Thank you so much! 😊

Rolo & dash had been so comfortable with David & his wife because when I came & collected then dash almost didn’t recognise me 😅 and it showed that they r very happy & comfortably stayed with them. And had been staying in touch by text message for update how is my dogs is. I would recommended them to look after my dogs again because they r old but Dash is very lively and surprisingly it all went well for over a week no trouble at all. Thank you for taking care of them xx

5🌟! I could not recommend Darcey more! It was so reassuring to be able to go away and know all my pets were so well looked after and happy. My springer is a little nervous/reactive and so it was great to have someone with Darcey’s experience. I will definitely be booking her again! Thank you Darcey 😄

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred East Dorset walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Dorset choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
