“Jade looked after our puppy for the first time this evening, she sent photo's and videos along with messages to let us know he was OK and being well looked after. We have booked Jade again and are more than happy to say, we trust her whole heartedly to look after him. We can relax knowing he is being so well looked after by Jade.”

“My booking with Karen was the first time I had used a dog sitting service which was going to be an experience for my 2 dogs and myself! Karen arrived in good time and was calm and confident and by the time I left to go out for the day my terrier and cocker spaniel were very happy with Karen, as was I, and I left feeling it was going to be a good day. It was. Thank you Karen. I have already booked again.”

About: I have genuine love for animals which I am able to put into my veterinary science degree, nurturing my professional experience with animals. I’ve looked after dogs for friends and family for years, as well as doing paid dog and cat sitting, so I’m comfortable caring for pets with all sorts of personalities and needs. As part of my course, I was trained and assessed in animal handling, giving me experience working safely and confidently with a wide range of animals. I’ve also worked on farms, spent time in veterinary clinics, volunteered at a dog and cat rescue, and walked dogs of all sizes and breeds. I have my own Border Collie, so I’m very used to energetic dogs that need lots of exercise, attention, and mental stimulation (aka a handful!) He also has epilepsy and takes regular medication, so I’m experienced in administering oral medication and caring for pets that need a little extra support. Whether your pet is a young puppy, a senior pet, a high-energy breed, or simply loves lots of company and attention, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own! 🐾 I am currently on summer break from university. I have some odd shifts at a bar that i work at but very rare. I have one week that I cannot work- July3rd-10th. Apart from that I am available every day apart from Thursdays until September :) When caring for pets in their own home, I do my best to stick to their normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I’ll follow any instructions you provide regarding feeding, walks, playtime, medication, and any other specific needs your pet may have. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment, whether that’s long walks for energetic dogs, play sessions, or simply keeping them company. I’m experienced with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, as well as cats and pets that require extra care, including administering oral medication when needed. I also understand how important it is for owners to have peace of mind, so I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos throughout my stay. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved in their familiar environment while you’re away.

“Karen is wonderful-with my dog and staying at my home. She provided timely updates and it was lovely to know Mocha was getting such high quality care and attention. I know we will be asking her back for future trips!”

“We love Sophie! She is so lovely, punctual and tidy, but most importantly she looks after our dog as if he’s her own. We have no need to worry about him and know he’s in great hands. We highly recommend Sophie if you need a sitter! A&S x”

“Hannah was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. She took such great care of my cat, Dobby, and it was clear she genuinely cared about her wellbeing. About: TRUSTED BY MUTTLEYS DOGS! From a very young age, I’ve been the go to person for friends and family whenever their pets needed a little extra love and care. Whether it’s quick drop in visits, daily walks, or fortnight long stays, I’ve spent years building trusted bonds with dogs of all shapes, sizes and personalities. My passion for animals led me to complete a National Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management, giving me a strong understanding of animal behaviour, welfare and health. But beyond the qualifications, it’s the genuine joy I get from being around dogs that really sets me apart. I treat every animal like part of the family, making sure they feel safe, happy and well looked after while you’re away. Expect plenty of tail wags, playtime, cuddles and regular updates so you can relax knowing your fur baby is in great hands! Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine, as it’s something I genuinely love doing rather than seeing it as a task. I structure my days to ensure I have plenty of time for walks, playtime, feeding and giving each pet the attention they deserve. Whether it’s early morning walks, midday drop ins, or evening cuddles, I’m flexible and organised to meet each animals specific needs and routine. Because I prioritise reliability and routine, you can feel confident that your dog will be cared for on schedule, with lots of affection and attention built into every visit. My partner also has roughly 15 years of experience with looking after cats, dogs and reptiles, who may accompany me with some visits. She also has experience in sitting for medicated pets. Just for your peace of mind she’s loves every animal as if they are her own! When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I make it a priority to keep everything as familiar and stress free as possible. I stick closely to your fur baby’s usual routine, including feeding times, walks, playtime and any specific instructions you provide, so they feel comfortable and secure in their own environment. I take the time to build trust with each pet, giving them plenty of attention, affection and reassurance while you’re away. Whether your fur baby loves energetic walks or prefers a more relaxed pace with lots of cuddles, I adapt to their individual personality and needs. I also treat your home with the utmost respect, keeping things clean, tidy and secure at all times. You’ll receive regular updates, photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.
About: I have had pets for as long as I can remember. While we are mostly been a cat family, we have had an array of pets, from fish to guinea pigs. I always seem to attract the cats however, nicknamed the cat queen in our house. Over the years, I have looked after many family friends dogs; Jack Russell’s, Springer Spaniels, Pomeranians, Labradors, Border Collies. I’ve always loved hiking and walking, and now get to do this as my job, but would love a furry friend to accompany me, so I can play pretend until I own one of my own! I’ve also recently done my first house sit on TrustedHousesitters for two lovely mother and daughter lab pair. It was one of my highlights so far of the year and would love to continue to help other families. I am a very tidy and clean person, and have no problem watering your plants or cleaning out a litter tray! I also have no problem with any energy level of dog, I’d walk for hours and play fetch for days… or just a quick wrap around the roads for cute oldies. I am currently an Outdoor Instructor working with the school holidays. I finish each day at 16:00, so able to drop in or walk to see your furry friends after work. I also have school holidays and weekends off, meaning I’m able to be flexible and spend lots of time playing and walking. I can also house sit during these holidays for whenever you and your loved ones are jetting off. ✈️ I love updating owners and sending lots of pictures of your friends! It is the service that I would like as I know how precious these pets are to us. I can easily follow any particular requirements or where your pet likes to sleep at night, to make sure they’re not unsettled by a new friend.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life and feel I am able to forge special bonds with them. Over the last few years I’ve looked after dogs of friends as well as family providing house/dog sitting and occasional day care as required. I am currently studying online from home, so I have flexible availability, and am happy to talk with you to discuss any needs you may have. I would meet with you and your dog in order to get to know your dog and to discuss any requirements you may have and to learn about your dog’s daily routine
About: I’ve always absolutely loved animals! I’m the one sat next to the dog at a party. I believe dogs deserve a great mentally stimulating walk every day. I’ve previously walked dogs for The Cinnamon Trust charity, and have walked dogs for acquaintances as and when needed. I’m working only part-time as a barista which is my other passion, and can easily do house visits or dog walks alongside shifts! I am super considerate of other people’s space and like to leave it as I found it. After all, I’ve been a lodger for 5 years and keep our space nice and tidy (apart from the occasional cat hair…). I won’t be hesitant about cleaning any little or big messes your pet leaves (after all, I do work in a cafe…!). I’ll keep everyone happy and comfortable in their space!

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities since I was 12. Friends, family, and neighbours often rely on me to walk, feed, and look after their pets when they’re away. I’m patient, responsible, and always make sure every dog feels happy, safe, and loved. Whether it’s a long walk, playtime, or quiet company, I tailor care to each pup’s needs! 🐕✨ I have just finished university, and my free time mostly consist of reading, studying, hanging out with friends or a combination — often the perfect time to have a furry friend join me! My schedule is flexible, so I can offer plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays, especially on weekends and afternoons. I live close to several lovely green spaces, perfect for safe and fun walks. I keep my environment calm and clean, ensuring pets feel comfortable and cared for. Whether your dog enjoys playtime, cuddles, or quiet rest, I’ll make sure they feel right at home and completely safe while you’re away.

Favourite sitter by miles! Thank you so much for looking after Draco! Loved that he bonded with you straight away! Tabea has a lovely energy about her and I will be booking again! Our home was spotless and Draco was snoring away from having such a wonderful day! Thank you so much! 😊

Rolo & dash had been so comfortable with David & his wife because when I came & collected then dash almost didn’t recognise me 😅 and it showed that they r very happy & comfortably stayed with them. And had been staying in touch by text message for update how is my dogs is. I would recommended them to look after my dogs again because they r old but Dash is very lively and surprisingly it all went well for over a week no trouble at all. Thank you for taking care of them xx

5🌟! I could not recommend Darcey more! It was so reassuring to be able to go away and know all my pets were so well looked after and happy. My springer is a little nervous/reactive and so it was great to have someone with Darcey’s experience. I will definitely be booking her again! Thank you Darcey 😄

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Dorset choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
