Rachael is a real find! We’ve just moved to the area and this is our first time leaving Murphy with her. She sent us photo updates during the day and we felt so reassured that he was being well looked after. We have booked Murphy back in for a longer stay with her too Thank you Rachael ☺️

A huge thanks for looking after Charlie the tennis-ball crazed Collie! He clearly settled really well with you and it’s nice to feel less guilty when knowing that he’ll get some real quality time (including falling asleep on you!). Thanks for accommodating early starts too … really helpful. He will have enjoyed plodding in different areas. We’re lucky to have some open green spaces for the four-legged friends. Good luck on travels. Will look to rebook on your return.

Gwen's second day care visit was also a wonderful success. She has settled in easily, the photos of the day show her having fun, and she came home a very happy, content little dog.

Carolina was really great with her communication and helpful from the start, making us feel reassured that our dogs would be in safe hands. Carolina was flexible with our drop off and pick up time. The dogs took an instant shine to Carolina and she understood their needs straight away. We felt comfortable leaving them with Carolina for the two days and were happy with the service provided. Thank you so much!

Nanook has been going to Ruben's weekly for I cannot recall how long. She loves it. It's a home from home and she always has a lovely day with Oggy and Ruben. I can work knowing she's loved and safe and the pupdates throughout the day help settle my mind. She looks forward to every Wednesday and practically drags us to their door. Thank you so much xxx

Bonnie seemed to have had a lovely time with Sophie and her partner today. I was a little bit nervous about leaving Bonnie with someone as this was the first time I had. They were both lovely and kept me updated during the day to let me know what Bonnie had been up too. They took her out for two long walks and Bonnie was happy and content when I collected her. Will definitely be booking in with Sophie again. Thank you again for having Bonnie!!

About: I have grown up with dogs and love being in their company. I have experience of looking after many types of dog and would have plenty of time to spend walking and playing with your pet. I work from home part-time (22 hours) so I have plenty of time to care for your dog. I live in a 4 bedroom house with a secure garden. I have two daughters, a 14 year old and a 6 year old, both are very happy and comfortable around dogs. I have a secure fenced garden with plenty of space for your pet to run around. There are lots of great places locally for dog walks, including the local rec. I have no dogs or other animals of my own. I work part-time, from home. This allows me to be flexible to your dogs routine, such as toilet routines, exercise, play, feeding etc. I spend a lot of time at home so your dog will have plenty of company. I have a secure, fenced garden. I am also trained in dog first aid/CPR (September 2022) and have access to a dog first aid kit. I live near plenty of lovely places to walk your dog.

Amy looked after Daphne for us so we could have a day out with the kids whilst we were on our holiday. Amy is so friendly and I immediately knew Daphne would be in great hands. We got an update when Daphne had settled which was good to know. Amy clearly loves dogs and I would highly recommend her!

Thank you so much to Aljona for looking after Ram today so that we could visit Monkey World. He ran straight in and settled immediately and was very happy when I picked him up. Aljona kept me updated with photographs and messages. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely use her and would recommend her to anyone who is on holiday and needs someone to look after their dog

About: I began caring for dogs at a young age, and over the last few years I've spent taking on dogs from family and friends. In the last 5 months I've been caring for many breeds daily of all ages and sizes and have found that nothing makes me happier than spending time with these incredible animals. Your pets can expect a home from home with me, I never take on too many so that I can give excellent care, love and affection to the animals for as long as they are with me. I owe some of my knowledge to my partner, who will not not be caring for your pets, but has taught me everything she knows from her animal management education and experience in dog training and dog DayCare. Feel assured that your dogs will be looked after by someone with experience, compassion and a calm, gentle nature. In the last 5 months I've found a strong passion for dogcare, by boarding and walking a large variety of breeds. My goal is to engage in this full time and therefore on the days you book with me, rest assured that my attention and routine will be tailored to provide the best care and experience for your furry friends. My home has a fenced large garden with an alleyway that leads to a quiet road. I will be looking at investing in a gate for more safety. I aim to provide dogs in my care with at least 2 or 3 varied walks a day for utmost sniffing and stimulation. I provide treats, toys, leads and bowls. My longterm partner lives in the home, but will not be responsible for care. She loves dogs just as much as I do.

Absolutely sport on, can’t recommend Natasha enough. And whenever we are in need of a dog sitter again we know exactly where to go. Ruby had the best time with picture pup dates throughout the day on what she was up to. All rounded off with a trip to the Pub for good measure!

Would highly recommend Tina to take care of your furry friends. We were a little anxious wondering how our sensitive Golden Retriever would be but lots of pictures and videos sent from Tina soon reassured us he was having a lovely time exploring the large enclosed garden and was settled in receiving lots of one on one time from the family. Thank you so much.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in East Dorset on Rover is £26.45 per day (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 778 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in East Dorset. About 85% of East Dorset sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your East Dorset commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
