Thanks for entertaining Charlie again Jenny. I'm certain that he enjoyed his boat cruise, even if he chose to bark whilst bobbing up and down. He came home pooped and slept very well.

About: Hi, I’m a mum of two and a huge animal lover offering reliable and caring dog sitting services 🐾 I work from home, so your dog will have plenty of company, attention, and care throughout the day. I have my own little furry family too — a Bishon called Honey and two rabbits — so animals have always been a big part of my life. We live close to the forest and I love taking dogs on walks in nature, as well as trips down to the beach for some fresh air and fun. Whether you need help during the day, while you’re away, or just an extra hand with your dog, I’d love to help and make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while in my care 🐶💕 I work from home, so your dog will always have company throughout the day and won’t be left alone for long periods. I’m able to fit my schedule around the animals, including regular toilet breaks, playtime, feeding, and long walks. Living close to the forest and beach means they’ll also get plenty of fresh air, exercise, and attention I provide a safe, loving, and calm environment where pets are treated like part of the family. As I work from home, pets are rarely left alone and always have company, supervision, and attention throughout the day. I follow each owner’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and any special instructions to help pets feel comfortable and settled. I live close to the forest and beach, so dogs enjoy plenty of exercise, stimulation, and outdoor time. My home is pet friendly, clean, and secure, and I always make sure animals feel safe, happy, and well cared for while in my home or their owner’s home.

Outstanding care by Rachael. We received loads of pictures and updates. Her little dog was so good with Sammie, Sammie gets a bit grumpy with some dogs but her dog Alfie is the calmest soul. She took him on walks and made Sammie feel like he was right at home ❤️ would 100% recommend

About: I love all animals and love spending time with them. I have always been surrounded by animals from dogs to cats, rabbits to fish. I have a wide range of dog experience as I have owned bull dogs, boxers, bull mastiffs, Dogue de Bordeauxs and currently own Griffon Bruxellois aka Brussels Griffons aka grumpy griffons, so i am used to caring for 40kg dogs down to 3.5kg along with new born puppies. My dogs are like my children and understand what is needed to care for yours whilst you are away from yours. I grew up with cats and we were lucky enough to have owned British short hairs, Sphynxs and Maine coons so again I have vast experience with different cats and their different needs. Why Choose Me? * Lifelong experience with dogs and cats from new born through to senior years * Patient, reliable and trustworthy * Able to follow detailed care routines * Regular photo and video updates * Plenty of affection, playtime and enrichment * Comfortable with energetic and active breeds * Flexible and committed to providing personalised care *can offer house sitting, drop ins, dog walks or even boarding at my own home. I am completely flexible as I currently have no work commitments so can work with you to create the perfect care schedule for your four legged friend. In your home I would stick to your preferred routines so to keep your fur baby’s daily life as un disrupted as possible. Along with taking care of your home as if it was mine. For boarding at my home, I am luckily enough to say I have large house a fully enclosed 1/3 acre garden so plenty of space to take care of your dogs whilst trying to mimic their daily life as much as possible within my home.

Gwen's first day-care visit has been a great success! She was a little anxious for about half an hour at the start (she's only every been cared for by us and friends before) but she soon settled. It was so good to receive an update and photos at lunchtime which showed Gwen having a great day. At collection time, it was a joy to find Gwen running around with Coca, playing with toys and feeling very relaxed. We feel very lucky to have found such a lovely family to look after her!

About: With over 15 years of experience owning and caring for dogs, cats, and poultry, we understand just how important it is to know your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. Having loved and cared for family pets for many years, we’re confident in providing a calm, caring, and home-from-home environment. Although we’re currently between dogs ourselves, we really miss having four-legged companionship in our home and would love the opportunity to care for your dog as one of our own. We live in a semi-rural location with a large, secure fenced garden, giving dogs plenty of space to play, explore, and relax. Our home is family-friendly, full of love and attention, and we’re best suited to dogs that are comfortable around children and enjoy plenty of affection, companionship, and, of course, being thoroughly spoilt. Your dog will enjoy a relaxed, home-from-home experience with plenty of love, attention, and companionship throughout the day. Mornings usually begin with a walk in the beautiful local countryside, giving them the chance to stretch their legs, explore, and burn off some energy. Back at home, there’s plenty of time for play, fuss, and relaxation, with access to our large secure garden for outdoor time and sniffing adventures. Throughout the day your pet will be part of family life, never short of attention, affection, or company. Depending on their usual routine and energy levels, we’ll include additional walks, playtime, and quiet downtime to make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and settled. Whether your dog loves adventure, cuddles on the sofa, or a bit of both, we’ll make sure they feel right at home and cared for as if they were our own. Pets staying with us will be cared for in a safe, secure, and loving family home. We have a large fully enclosed garden where dogs can play, explore, and enjoy supervised outdoor time. They will be treated as part of the family, with plenty of attention, affection, regular walks, playtime, and quiet space to relax, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and settled throughout their stay.

Guoda was great! Agreed to help out with my puppy with only a couple of hours notice. You could tell Guoda loves animals instantly with the way she was meeting Skye which gave me a lot of reassurance. I was updated throughout the day with messages and pictures. I cannot rate Sonya highly enough! What an absolutely fantastic sitter. She was prompt, considerate, attentive and conscientious. Wesley is normally very reluctant to go off with people he doesn't know but Sonya ensured that he was well cared for and her patience with him was so special. She paid particular attention to him not over heating, his eating and drinking and his cuddles. I feel so chuffed that we found this true, amazing and capable dogsitter. Thank-you Sonya for your care. And in case it hasn't come across in the above I 100% would trust Sonya with Wesley any time again in the future and recommend her wholeheartedly.

About: I work from home and had a young at heart 13 year old black lab and retired PAT dog (he passed away in '24) I grew up with a springer spaniel and also had a beautiful bull mastiff. I work from home most days. I do have location work which means I can't look after dogs then. Other than that I can be flexible with notice. My garden is fenced and large. I live opposite a wood and fields so plenty of good walks nearby. Dogs sleep downstairs in an open plan sitting room/kitchen. All wooden floors. No carpets.

Kirsty & Dan (& Benji!) are 5⭐️ - Our pup Barney absolutely loves going to see them. It’s like a home from home for him. He loves spending time there and playing with Benji. They are very attentive to his needs and I instantly felt comfortable leaving Barney with them. Can’t recommend highly enough.

About: I’ve done dog sitting before with my previous housemate and looking to do the same on my own. I’ve always loved dogs and have grown up around them, and ever since I was young have always pestered my neighbours to let me take their dogs on walks. I’m currently not working and have very few obligations so I can dedicate almost all my time to looking after and caring for pets! I have a medium sized flat with a fenced garden, right by a large park that is very pet friendly and accessible for all pet sizes!

About: I was fortunate to grow up on a small freeholding in the countryside. My family had donkeys, sheep, chickens, dogs and cats. My special animals were Toffee the donkey, Sam the lamb and Lucy the old English sheepdog! I’m a genuine dog lover who has grown up around dogs my whole life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. Although I don’t currently have a dog of my own, I’d love the opportunity to look after yours and give them plenty of attention, affection, cuddles, and care while you’re away. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet sitting in your home. I will be happy to offer doggy day care once my secure fencing has been completed. We are so lucky in this area to be surrounded by beautiful fields and walking areas, which are perfect for safe, fun, and active walks for dogs of all sizes and energy levels. Whether your dog enjoys long walks and playtime or prefers a calmer, relaxed environment with lots of company, I’m happy to adapt to their needs and routine. Having grown up with dogs, I understand how important it is for pets to feel comfortable, loved, and secure. I’m patient, reliable, and will always treat your pet as if they were my own. I know leaving your pet with someone else can feel daunting, so I aim to provide a warm, friendly, and trustworthy experience that gives both you and your pet peace of mind. I’m flexible with availability and can spend quality time with your pet to make sure they feel settled, cared for, and happy. I’d love to meet your furry friend and become someone you can rely on whenever you need help with pet care! I work part time as a registered nurse (adult) which gives me plenty of time to care for pets and be outside which I love. I will care for your pets to a very high standard and follow their regular routine set out by you. It will be my pleasure to help with your requirements if I can.

About: We offer a calm, home-from-home environment for dogs who aren’t suited to kennels or who would prefer a peaceful and relaxed home and as much company as they would like. We work from home and are always on hand so your dog gets our full attention, space, and a genuinely relaxed stay. Our home is set on half an acre with secure fencing and gated access, giving plenty of safe outdoor space to explore. The house itself is fully secure, alarmed, and designed to be a comfortable, quiet environment. Both of us work from home, so your dog is rarely left alone and has consistent supervision, interaction, and care throughout the day. Each stay is tailored to your dog’s routine. Whether they prefer a more relaxed environment or lots of activity, we adapt to suit them. This can include: Regular access to the garden throughout the day Walks on Canford Heath (within walking distance) Visits to local secure dog parks Plenty of rest, attention, and companionship at home We aim to keep things as close as possible to your dog’s normal home life, so they feel settled and comfortable. This setup is particularly well suited to: Anxious or sensitive dogs Older dogs who benefit from a quieter environment And of course any dogs who like to be spoiled and be with people in general! It’s not a high-volume service — it’s designed for owners who want complete peace of mind while they’re away. We can also provide: Daily photo and video updates Pick-up and drop-off (by arrangement) Due to the nature of the service, availability is very limited and we tend to book up in advance, particularly during holidays. If you’re looking for a safe, calm, and genuinely home-based alternative to kennels, feel free to get in touch. We work from home so always are available for pet sits, home visits or walkies. Experienced long term pet care experts so this has always fit into our schedule. Spacious, Secure, and Safe: We live in a large detached home with a beautiful half-acre garden — fully enclosed with high fencing and secure gates, giving dogs plenty of safe space to roam, play, and relax.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in East Dorset on Rover is £25.3 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 773 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in East Dorset. About 87% of East Dorset sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your East Dorset commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
