“Thank you Sophie for making our first 'Rover' such a success. George and Margot obviously had a great day and are now sleeping soundly. Sophie's love of dogs is obvious and our dogs came home happy. Thank you 😊”

About: I have a genuine love for animals and share my home with my friendly 5 year old, medium size Cockapoo, Ralph, who loves having canine companions to play with 🐶🐶. Based in Burton, Christchurch, we're perfectly located near beautiful fields, farms, the forest, and the beach, providing plenty of variety for fun, enriching walks to suit every dog. Whist at home, your pet will also have access to a fully enclosed, secure rear garden where they can safely relax and play between adventures. I provide a caring, home from home environment where your dog will receive lots of attention, exercise, and affection while you're away. If your pet prefers a single pet environment, we’ve got you covered. I keep my own dog Ralph, with me every other week, which leaves plenty of space for animals that prefer no other pets around. Please ensure to include this in your enquiry and i will be able to advise the weeks this is possible. I work fully from home during the week, offering flexibility with both drop off and collection times. During the week I typically walk my dog in the morning and afternoon, but flexible to cater to your pets needs equally. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. My home offers a spacious downstairs area where dogs are free to relax and feel at home, along with a fully enclosed, secure rear garden for safe outdoor play and toilet breaks. I only care for a small number of dogs at a time, allowing me to give each one plenty of attention, supervision, and care. My own friendly Cockapoo, Ralph, also provides a calm and sociable companion for dogs who enjoy the company of others.

“I left my dog Merlin with Sammy for the day yesterday. She welcomed him into her home and put him at ease. I felt relaxed leaving him, knowing that he was being well looked after. I would highly recommend Sammy”

“Lisa is a lovely lady who loves dogs. Her two dogs are very sweet too. My dog however was a little scared of her larger dog and Lisa managed the situation beautifully to ensure Obi was comfortable. We visit the area occasionally and I would gladly have Lisa look after my dog again. Thank you Lisa!”

About: My beloved dog, Crumble, joined tennis ball heaven last year and ever since then, there has been a huge paw shaped hole in our hearts. Life means it’s tricky to have our own fur baby again for a few years and instead, we’ve enjoyed the company of others. We have had dogs for over 20 years and are very comfortable with excitable young puppies as much as caring for senior dogs with medication needs etc. I am a secondary school teacher, teaching locally in a comprehensive for over 20 years being Head of Subject and Head of Year. Tristan also works as a specialist technician at school. We would love to use our weekends and school holidays between now and Christmas this year for furry companionship. In addition to teaching in school, I also privately tutor and work from home two to three days a week and therefore also have the ability to do some term time day based care and support until Christmas 2026. Thereafter, I am solely working from home on a part time basis, and won’t be in school and so will have full availability to be able to have dog company all day, every day. We promise to offer love, care and undivided attention for your pooch! We currently work part time and full time in a local school. This means that in school holiday time we have no work and can just give full attention to your dog’s needs. The same applies for weekends throughout the school year and any week day care we have capacity for up until Christmas this year. Then from January l will solely working from home on a part time basis as I will just have my private tutoring business and therefore have full capacity for every option for dog care all day, every day . If we have a dog with us it will never be left unsupervised and will always have at least one of our full attention I am just completing my Professional Dog Walkers and Sitters qualification with the British College of Canine Studies. I have also purchased independent insurance for your peace of mind. We have the luxury of going between two accommodations in the area. Our home has a fenced garden with lovely walks around the Mudeford quay and Mudeford woods patch. We also have a sizeable static caravan at Hoburne which dogs love coming to stay with us at. Here, we have the joys of being right on our private cliff top and the beach and sea in front, alongside the easy option of getting in to the forest for walks. It’s doggy heaven! We don’t have any pets of our own presently and instead are enjoying the company and companionship of others
About: I have a genuine love for dogs and hands-on experience caring for them. I previously had two dogs of my own, and I looked after them with full responsibility and care throughout their lives. This experience taught me patience, attentiveness, and how to understand dogs’ needs and behaviors. I am comfortable with feeding, walking, playing, and providing companionship. I also pay close attention to routines and any special care instructions. I treat every dog as if they were my own, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
About: We have a very friendly 4 year old Golden Retriever, Hugo, who absolutely loves having other dogs around. He is sociable, gentle, and enjoys making new friends, so visiting dogs quickly feel at home. As a family, we love dogs and regularly look after friends’ dogs while they are away, giving us experience caring for different breeds, personalities, and routines. We also have two children who have grown up around dogs and are gentle and respectful with them. I work from home, which means your dog will have plenty of company, supervision, and attention throughout the day. We understand how important it is for dogs to feel safe, loved, and comfortable, and we treat every dog as if they were part of our own family. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply sticking to their usual routine, we make sure your dog receives the care, attention, and affection they deserve throughout their stay. I work from home in Southbourne, so I have plenty of time to give dogs the attention, company, and care they need throughout the day. We’re just a 10-minute walk from the beach and only a couple of minutes from Seafield Gardens, giving us lots of great options for walks and play. Our daily routine with our Golden Retriever, Hugo, starts with a morning walk or run of around 30 minutes to an hour. At lunchtime, we head out for another 30-minute walk, followed by an hour-long afternoon walk or play session. Depending on the weather and your dog’s preferences, we often visit the beach or the river, or enjoy games together on our local walks. At home, we have a large, secure garden where dogs can enjoy fresh air and explore throughout the day. Because I work from home, there are plenty of opportunities for toilet breaks, playtime, cuddles, and companionship, so visiting dogs are rarely without company. I will tailor walks, exercise, and downtime to suit your dog’s age, energy level, and routine, helping them feel relaxed, happy, and right at home. Your dog’s safety, happiness, and wellbeing will always be my priority. I provide a calm, loving family environment where dogs receive plenty of individual attention and care. I only look after a small number of dogs at a time (a maximum of two additional dogs), so I can make sure every dog gets the attention, supervision, and affection they deserve. Before your dog’s stay, I will take the time to learn about their routine, personality, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special requirements to help them feel comfortable and settled. Our home is a safe, family environment with a large, secure garden where dogs can enjoy supervised outdoor time throughout the day. As I work from home, dogs have plenty of company, regular toilet breaks, playtime, and cuddles, and they are not left alone for long periods. I will always follow your instructions regarding food, walks, medication if needed, and any routines your dog is used to. Whether they enjoy beach walks, park adventures, playing with Hugo, or relaxing at home, I will make sure they feel safe, happy, and part of the family during their stay.

About: We’ve grown up surrounded by pets and can’t imagine life without them. From childhood right through to adulthood, caring for animals has always been second nature to us. Over the years, friends, family, neighbours, and even people in our wider community have trusted us time and again as their first choice when it comes to looking after their precious pets. That trust means everything to us, and we treat every animal in our care with the same love, patience, and attention we give our own. Our working hours are flexible and one of us is part time. Our schedules mean that our pets and any visitors will only be left alone for work related reasons for 2-4 hours. We have a secure garden with tall fences. We live within a two minute walk of both Queen’s and King’s Park. We know how important it is to feel completely confident when leaving your pets in someone else’s care. That’s why we pride ourselves on being reliable, responsible, and respectful.
“Karen was great with Piper. Piper had an injured paw and had it bandaged up which meant she had to be more quiet and still than normal. Karen understood and kept Pipet company while also making sure she didn’t get too excited.”

“Lenny has had the absolute best time with Ella and her husband. They have been so wonderful with him and he’s settled in so well. We’ll definitely be back soon and would highly recommend and trust Ella to take the very best care of your dog.”

“Nanook has been going to Ruben's weekly for I cannot recall how long. She loves it. It's a home from home and she always has a lovely day with Oggy and Ruben. I can work knowing she's loved and safe and the pupdates throughout the day help settle my mind. She looks forward to every Wednesday and practically drags us to their door. Thank you so much xxx”

10/10! As always Karen is the perfect sitter, she accepted my request very last minute and gave my pet an incredible day, from beach walks to cuddles at home. I have used Karen multiple times and will continue to use her to look after my pet dog. Highly recommended!

Wendy was very communicative from initial enquiry to booking in a trial and arranging our booking, which really set us at ease. Roux seems to have really enjoyed her time at 'daycare' and we were grateful for the photo updates. Wendy has a lovely set up for the dogs in the house/garden and we have felt very comfortable leaving her knowing she is being fussed and well taken care of.

Sammy has been amazing at looking after our Springer pup. She made him feel at home straight away and on day 2 he was very excited to be back! Sammy was also very helpful in allowing me to add a day at short notice and I will definitely be booking her again for my doggy day car needs.
Sophie was lovely and accommodating. Being new to Rover I missed on her profile that she has a dog so I turned up with mine (one being a bit funny with other dogs) and she kindly got alternative care for her doggy which we were so grateful for. House was lovely and had great access into garden through kitchen. She also walked them and they were so relaxed when we picked them up. She sent pictures and any messages I sent between us prior she replied within a short space of time. Great service and lovely lady. Thanks Sophie x

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
