About: We have a very friendly 4 year old Golden Retriever, Hugo, who absolutely loves having other dogs around. He is sociable, gentle, and enjoys making new friends, so visiting dogs quickly feel at home. As a family, we love dogs and regularly look after friends’ dogs while they are away, giving us experience caring for different breeds, personalities, and routines. We also have two children who have grown up around dogs and are gentle and respectful with them. I work from home, which means your dog will have plenty of company, supervision, and attention throughout the day. I work from home in Southbourne, so I have time to give dogs lots of attention, company and care throughout the day. We are just a 10-minute walk from the beach and a couple of minutes from Seafield Gardens, with plenty of great walking options nearby. Your dog’s safety, happiness and wellbeing will always be my priority. I provide a calm, loving family environment and only care for a small number of dogs at a time (maximum two additional dogs), ensuring plenty of individual attention and supervision. Our home has a large, secure garden, and as I work from home, dogs have plenty of company, toilet breaks, playtime and cuddles, without being left alone for long periods. I will always follow your instructions and routines, whether your dog enjoys beach walks, park adventures, playing with Hugo or simply relaxing at home. My aim is for every dog to feel safe, happy and part of the family.

I provide a caring, home from home environment where your dog will receive lots of attention, exercise, and affection while you're away. If your pet prefers a single pet environment, we’ve got you covered. I keep my own dog Ralph, with me every other week, which leaves plenty of space for animals that prefer no other pets around. Please ensure to include this in your enquiry and i will be able to advise the weeks this is possible. I work fully from home during the week, offering flexibility with both drop off and collection times. During the week I typically walk my dog in the morning and afternoon, but flexible to cater to your pets needs equally. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. My home offers a spacious downstairs area where dogs are free to relax and feel at home, along with a fully enclosed, secure rear garden for safe outdoor play and toilet breaks. I only care for a small number of dogs at a time, allowing me to give each one plenty of attention, supervision, and care. My own friendly Cockapoo, Ralph, also provides a calm and sociable companion for dogs who enjoy the company of others.

They were very flexible with drop-off and pick-up times, and they were happy to take him on fairly lastminute without meeting us beforehand, which would have been a problem for us, as we aren't local. What a relief to find Charlotte. Buddy, my 7 year old cockapoo had a lovely time staying with her and her family. I had true piece of mind that he was happy. He was allowed to get on the sofa and sleep on the bed, just like he does at home. Buddy is a gentle soul and loves company, and cuddles. He is also a fussy eater which makes feeding him challenging. I’ve had a difficult time feeling I could find someone I could trust to look after my dog after a stressful kennel stay. Karen is absolutely amazing, she understands dogs and is kind, positive and active - all things my dog responds really well to. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
