“Thank you Ruth and family. Frankie clearly had a great time and was well looked after. I appreciated the pics also. Hopefully we’ll make it work again in the not too distant future. Anne, Ian & Frankie”

“Clare looked after our dog Luca brilliantly, looking after him in a loving family home. He clearly had a wonderful time with them, and we felt reassured that he was safe, well cared for and given lots of cuddles (his favourite!). Thank you so much, Clare - we will definitely book again and would recommend.”

“It was a perfect 1st stay away from home. Millie was made very welcome and Aga helped her to settle and maintained her routine. Aga couldn't have been more accommodating or caring and her updates with regular photos showing Millie happy and enjoying herself were very reassuring. A great dog minder that I will use again and would be happy to recommend.”

“Winnie is so happy staying with Sophie and James. She has lots of lovely walks and loves all the cuddles she gets. Even more important to us is that Sophie treats Winnie as one of her family and keeps us up to date with what Winnie is up to. Sophie is also friendly and professional. We will certainly be asking Sophie to look after Winnie again in the future.🥰🥰”

“Charlotte is kind and caring and really makes your dog a part of her family. Poppy always has a great time and Charlotte gives great photos and updates. Highly recommended”

“Our 14 month old cockapoo had a wonderful time with Amy. He can be a bit clingy but he settled really quickly after I left and was super excited to show me the toys he’d been playing with when I picked him up. I’ve already booked a couple more stays with Amy and there will be more!”

“Nothing but a glowing reveiw! We left our 15 week old Cavapoo puppy and 7 year old cockapoo with Antoinette for 2 nights, it was there first stay away and we were very nervous. We didnt know Antoinette and we also didnt know how our dogs would be. But, from the minute we arrived at her house she put our minds at ease. Our cockapoo has allergy issues and has medication and special food and the puppy is mid toilet training! Antionette sent very regular updates including photos and videos which was lovely. We could tell that they were being treated as if they were her own and getting lots of attention. We would highly reccomend Antoinette and will definatly be using her services again. Thank you so much our doggies loved you!”

“Daisy was immediately comfortable with Camila. I felt very reassured that she was in such safe hands whilst I was away. I will definitely leave Daisy with Camila again.”

“Was worried about leaving Basil as he’s only ever been left with my son but I shouldn’t have , David and family clearly treated him like a family member he was so happy to see me but equally happy with them, couldn’t ask for anything more”

“Can’t thank Sam enough for taking care of Tommy on his first ever overnight stay and treating him like his own! I was a little anxious but Sam was so accommodating, doing whatever he could to make Tommy’s stay a relaxing experience for everyone. Updates were provided to ease my mind and ultimately Tommy had the best time hanging out with Sam and going on some exciting new walks. 10/10 will definitely be booking in again! ☺️”

“Angela and her family looked after my dog Captain for the weekend and did an amazing job. He seemed to settle with them well and enjoyed his time with the family. Angela sent over plenty of updates and photos and was really quick to reply to messages. A huge thank you from myself and Captain (aka Pirate)”

“Very happy thay I booked my dog Lolly in wit Tashmeet :) The host is very kind and friendly. My dog was instantly comfortable with her and I could tell that she was very happy. Thank you Tashmeet :)”

“Our dog Sully had a great time again! Sarah was caring, reliable, and kept us updated with photos and messages. Sully came home happy and well cared for. We’ll definitely book again!”

“Amy helped us out with a last minute booking for our little dog. Her communication was very speedy and she sent us pictures throughout the weekend. I would definitely book with her again ☺️.”

“Outstanding & highly recommended. Ewa and her partner were amazing with my anxious Labrador Lola. Lola experiences separation anxiety but they were so calm and kind which helped her to settle. They taught her new tricks, took her for plenty of walks (including a swim in the river which she loved) and kept her entertained with ball games. Lola can find it difficult to settle at night when she’s away, but she felt so comfortable with Ewa that there were no problems. I will definitely leave Lola with Ewa and her partner again.”

“Jasmine looked after Frankie for the weekend and was fantastic. Frankie took to her straight away. She kept in touch with us throughout the whole time with updates/pictures, communication was great from start to finish. We’d definitely recommend Jasmine and wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.”

“Klaudia was amazing. So quick to respond and organise. It was the first time we’ve left our dog with a stranger. She’s an Australian Kelpie that loves long long long walks and games. She had the absolute best time with Klaudia and we were updated with lovely picture and messages throughout. Will 100% be booking guide. The dog can’t wait to go back!”

Benji was very happy staying with Sarah and Simon over a period of a few weeks. They are clearly people who care about dogs, and the information and updates they shared while benji was with them was excellent. We wouldn's hesitate in recommending Sarah and Simon to ther dog owners, and would welcome the chance to Benji to have another vacation with them in the future. Many thanks to Sarah, Simin and the whole family!

Camila did a brilliant job looking after Ellie for 12 days while we were in Florida. Ellie clearly had a wonderful time, made new friends and got plenty of exercise. Camila regularly sent us photos and videos, which made us feel completely comfortable and reassured that Ellie was happy and in excellent hands. She was also incredibly flexible when we needed to book an additional day at the last minute. Ellie unexpectedly started her season during her stay, but Camila was completely unfazed and handled everything without any complaint or issue. We couldn’t have asked for better care and will definitely be booking with Camila again. Highly recommended!

Jasmine is super! She is kind and caring and thinks about all your dogs needs. Your dog will instantly become part of a family. My westie loves going and runs in as soon as we arrive. This time she needed medication and Jasmine was meticulous with her tablets. A real home from home

Niels and Tanya took amazing care of Nala! From the first meet & greet to the moment I picked her up. They sent incredible pictures of the adventures they went on (exactly what a dog like Nala needs!) and she came home happy, content and relaxed. I won’t hesitate to book again, thank you!

Klaudia was quick to respond to my last minute request to look after our dog, Gary. On collection he was as happy as he ever is, which told me all I needed to know about the care he was given while I was away. Thanks Klaudia for taking great care of our boy. We are incredibly grateful.

Sonya looked after our dog for 6 nights in her home whilst we were away. She also did drop in visits to our rabbit in our home. We couldn't be happier with how both pets were looked after. We felt completely at ease knowing our dog was being walked, played with and cared for like he was part of Sonya's family. We had daily photos, videos and messages from Sonya to say how he was getting on. Our bunny was also very well looked after and we had photos of him too. Thank you again, we won't hesitate to book when we next go away.

Our dog Azkar has stayed with Grant a few times now, and he absolutely loves it. As soon as we get to his house he runs straight inside, which is the best sign he enjoys staying there! It’s such a relief knowing he’s happy and well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Grant and we’ll definitely be booking again

This was my second time sending my dog Captain to Angela and her family and they did an amazing job again. He was well and truly looked after and he seemed to remember and settle with the family really easily again. I got lots of updates and photos during the week and could tell how much love and care my Captain was getting. I can't thank Angela enough and absolutely recommend her for other dog owners. I'll absolutely be booking with her again!

Outstanding & highly recommended. I will definitely leave Lola with Ewa and her partner again.

This was my third time using Sophie to board my cockapoo and I honestly cannot praise her enough! My pup is soooo well looked after and always comes home happy and well. Sophie sends regular updates whilst she’s got her (including photos) and she’s always taking her out on lovely walks and has been amazing being careful with her in the heat. I would never book with anyone else at this point as I just trust Sophie so much! Such a kind and genuine person as well! Thanks again Sophie, you really are the best! ❤️

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
