“We used Emily and Leigh for our first ever sit through Rover and had a great experience. Emily came over beforehand to meet Theo, making sure he was comfortable and taking the time to learn all about him. As soon as she arrived , Theo was happy and relaxed within minutes. During the sit, Emily took Theo out for a walk and kept us updated with lots of photos and videos from their adventures, which was really reassuring. Overall, Emily was a fantastic sitter, and both we and Theo were very happy. We’ll definitely be using Emily and Leigh again.”

“Karen was wonderful! She stayed for 5 nights with our elderly dog and young cat. She updated us regularly and was very responsible and took great care of the girls. I would use Jaren again in a heartbeat!”

“We are so fortunate we have found Sonya. She has been amazing with looking after our tailed boys – a three year old nervous rescue dog and a four year old rescue cat. Her calm and gentle nature has helped quick bonding with both the boys at the couple of preliminary meetings we had. We left confident that everything will be under control over the three days we were away. We had great updates, with videos and photos, supported by a lovely comments. Coming back, we found a lovely note – report, happy pets and clean house. We would definitely book Sonya again and recommend her 100%.”

“Thank you Linda (and Liam) for looking after Pearl and the house so well. It was so nice to receive updates from you over the weekend, allowing us to relax knowing she was happy and in good hands. We will book with you again when we go away next. Thank you xx”

“Amy was great with our two dogs and gave me huge confidence that they would be well looked after. She stayed at our house with them and was very neat and tidy. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.”

“James was just wonderful. He's such a happy and positive person and you can tell he has lots of love to give to the pets he cares for. I got updates regularly with photos and videos and little messages from my dog. I guarantee she will miss him very much! The house was cleaner than I left it when we got back and my babies had clearly been well loved. Thank you James! I really appreciate the care and attention you showed my babies. I couldn't have asked for a better person sitter.”

“Sarah looked after Rocco and our house for a week while we went on holiday, she was amazing, we got daily updates of how Rocco was and lots of photos of his adventures they went on which was lovely to see and make us feel relaxed knowing he was in safe hands and having lots of fun as he can be anxious! Our house was spotless too! Would highly recommend Sarah and would definitely use her again!”

About: I have always taken care of my pets when my parents have gone away. Not only have I been around my own pets but my mum is a dog groomer so I have been around all breeds of dogs & cats in her salon I work full time 9-5 Monday to Friday so I will be able to look after your pets in the mornings & evenings as well as the weekends I will be very careful & kind with your pets as I understand it can be stressful for them to have someone they don’t know come into their home. I will ensure that I give them lots of cuddles & space when they need it
“Maria is a lovely lady and took really good care of my cat Touchy whilst we were away. She sent loads of videos and photos every day which was very reassuring. I would highly recommend Maria and wouldn’t hesitate to use her again in the future. Thank you so much for looking after my little girl ????xx”

“Another lovely visit by Georgia! Thanks so much for taking care of Herc today. I could tell how happy he was to see you on your arrival and that he had a great relaxed time this afternoon. See you soon!”

“We honestly couldn’t have asked for better house and pet sitters than Ruth and Sean. From the moment we met them, they were friendly, calm and completely reassuring. We have our 2 1/2 year old dog Ziggy and a new puppy, Ruby, so it wasn’t the simplest set-up - but they handled everything so thoughtfully. They even moved work around to make sure Ruby could be supervised at all times. They kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which made it so much easier to properly relax while we were away. It was clear the dogs were happy, settled and very well cared for. And the biggest win… Ruby had no accidents in the three nights and four days she was with them, which is genuinely better than we’ve managed ourselves! That says everything about the attention and consistency they gave her. We also came home to a spotless house, which was such a lovely feeling after travelling. We would absolutely recommend Ruth and Sean without hesitation and would book them again in a heartbeat. Truly amazing sitters 🤍”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover who grew up on a farm in Australia, surrounded by dogs and a wide variety of animals. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life, and I have experience with pets of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. I spent two years working as a dog walker, caring for dogs with different exercise needs, temperaments, and routines. I've also been house sitting for clients for around six years, often caring for their pets and homes while they're away. I understand how important it is to have someone trustworthy looking after both your animals and your space. I recently moved to the UK to study costume making and really miss my dogs back home. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and pet sitting gives me the opportunity to do what I love while helping owners feel confident their pets are in caring hands. During the summer I am fairly flexible. I typically work around 4–6 hours a day, three days a week. I'm happy to follow your pet's usual routine and adapt to their individual needs, whether they're an energetic puppy, a senior dog, or anything in between. I will care for your pets as if they were my own and would love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family members! I typically work around 16 hours a week, currently on a Wednesday (10-4), Fridays (10-4) and Saturdays (10-2). However with enough notice I am able to shift my days around if need be. I care for pets in their own home by keeping them on their usual routine and following all owner instructions carefully. I have about six years of house-sitting experience and understand the importance of trust, communication, and home security. I provide regular updates and photos, keep dogs safely leashed unless instructed otherwise, monitor doors and gates carefully, and avoid unnecessary risks. My goal is to make pets feel comfortable and cared for in familiar surroundings while their owner is away.
About: I’ve looked after training guide dogs in Canine Partners programme. I provide loving care to every dog i look after and have lots of experience I have just finished university studying psychology and have a flexible timetable and am available any time and any day of the week to look after your pets I understand the importance of meeting a dogs need and can spend as much time with them as possible to make sure they’re always happy
About: I've always had animals in my life and really enjoy their company. I've had experience with a mixture of breeds, ages and all sizes. I took my previous dog to puppy training classes so am familiar with the basics and of course adaptable to your preferences. Currently on maternity leave for all of 2026 so I have an abundance of time on my hands. Would love to help out with dog walks and house boarding and drop in visits. Any questions please ask :) I live in a first floor flat close to the beach in the Branksome Park/Westbourne area. It's a very safe and secure area. I have a 3 year old Male Maine Coon Cat who stays indoors and is able to be separated to his own area if necessary.
“Always on time, the kids love spending time with Maxine. Friendly and lovely being. The kids can tell too! I'd highly recommend Maxine to anyone with doggo kids. Totally worth it!!!”

“Louis looked after our little man so well and managed his insulin injections brilliantly. He really took to Louis during the Meet and Greet, and we could see how much he felt comfortable in Louis' care in the photos. Louis sent regular photos and kept us updated on how things were going. Thanks for doing a great job especially with all his medical requirements.”

About: I’ve taken care of my family dog since I was 10, feeding, bathing and walking her. I’ve also looked after a number of friends and family’s dogs- including staying in their house overnight to care for the dog and taking them on walks I have a part-time job in a cafe but my schedule is quite flexible so would be able to do drop-ins, walks, and house-sits. Live in a rented house with a small garden and am happy for a pet to stay at my house or care for the pet at your home
About: As a true animal lover with a lifelong dedication to caring for our furry friends, I bring a unique blend of experience, compassion, and commitment to the role of dog caregiver. Growing up surrounded by animals, including my beloved canine companion of 15 years, I've developed an innate understanding of their needs, behaviors, and the unconditional love they offer. My journey with dogs extends beyond mere companionship; it's been a heartfelt responsibility and joy. Throughout the years, I've nurtured, trained, and cherished my own dog, learning valuable lessons in patience, empathy, and companionship along the way. This deep bond has instilled in me a profound respect for the well-being and happiness of all dogs under my care. In addition to my lifelong experience, I've recently expanded my involvement in the canine community through dog walking/Doggy Day Care in our local area. This hands-on experience has honed my skills in handling dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments while ensuring their safety and enjoyment during our walks. Whether it's a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood or an energetic romp through the park, I prioritize each dog's individual needs and preferences, fostering a positive and enriching experience for them. As you can see from my profile, I am highly experienced in this proffesion. What sets me apart as the ideal candidate for this role is not only my extensive experience and genuine love for dogs but also my unwavering dedication to their well-being. I understand the importance of reliability, trustworthiness, and clear communication when it comes to entrusting someone with your beloved pets. With me, pet owners can rest assured that their furry family members will receive the highest standard of care, attention, and affection, just like they're part of my own cherished pack. I'm so looking forward to meeting and building a bond with your fur baby. Please do not hesitate to drop me a message. I might add - for a small fee, I also can do drop ins/visits for small animals including exotic animals. I have started a role in the NHS with the mental health team but would love to continue this job part time. Therefore I can offer after 5pm Monday to Friday and weekends :) Safety, trust, and a nurturing environment are paramount when it comes to caring for your beloved dog, whether in your home or mine. With a keen focus on these principles, I ensure your dog's well-being is my top priority at all times. In your home, I implement strict safety measures to create a secure environment for your dog. This includes thorough inspections of the living space to identify and mitigate any potential hazards such as loose wires, toxic plants, or small objects that could be swallowed. I'll also ensure doors and gates are securely closed to prevent any escapes, and I'll familiarize myself with your home's layout to swiftly address any safety concerns. Moreover, I prioritize building trust with your dog through gentle, positive interactions, allowing them to feel comfortable and secure in their surroundings. I'll maintain open communication with you, providing regular updates and addressing any specific needs or preferences your dog may have to ensure their happiness and well-being.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Bournemouth
Sarah looked after our two boxer dogs in our home for a week. Sarah was fantastic with the dogs and not fazed by our very excitable younger one. She sent regular updates and photos, and the dogs were clearly very happy and having fun. The house was immaculate when we got home. This was our first time using Sarah via Rover and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you so much for looking after Reggie and Ruby at short notice after our family member originally planned had an accident.

Serena was amazing. She was attentive to our house, cats and garden. She would ask when she wasnt sure rather than leaves things to go wrong, responsive, sent regular updstes and photos, and even went above and beyond for the cats in a heatwave getting ice packs from her own house for them, and also sorting an ant infestation that appeared the day we left for the holiday. I couldnt recommend Serena more. Will definitely be asking her to come back in the future. Just wn all-round great human! Thank you!
Very good with both of our dogs, very attentive to their needs and they both settled around Sonya quickly, bringing quite a calming presence even for our large puppy. In the heatwave she played with them, gave them ice treats what we had set out and really did her best at keeping them cool! Overall happy with how the sit went, there was a couple of technical issues sending over photos of the dogs but nothing that was too much of an issue, would happily book again.

Maria looked after our pug, Arnie, for the weekend and we couldn't have asked for better care. She kept us updated throughout with lovely photos of him relaxing on the sofa and enjoying his walks, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We came home to a relaxed and clearly very well looked after doggy. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and she left our house spotless. Maria is kind, trustworthy and genuinely cares for the dogs she looks after. We wouldn't hesitate to book her again and would recommend her without reservation to anyone looking for an exceptional dog sitter. Xx

I contacted Karen last minute for an overnight stay. Luckily she was available. She responded very quickly to my message and we chatted about my dog and his needs. I felt reassured straight away that Karen was the woman for the job! We received messages and photos while we were away and my dog looked very relaxed and happy. I would recommend Karen as a sitter any day and I hope when we need a sitter again she is available.

Fantastic with our doggos, so attentive to their needs and followed our instructions perfectly regarding training and daily upkeep! Always sending photos and updates which as dog parents mean so much to us! Kept the house in perfect order and didn’t let the dogs walk all over her, really calming presence with the dogs and we will absolutely be booking again, our dogs love her!

Keira was fabulous. Very clear with communicating and helped us navigate the process as we had not used the app before. She sent us regular updates and it was clear that our dog had a lovely time while we were away. She has a natural affinity with animals and he was at home with her immediately. Would highly recommend 😀

We left our 2 doggies with Maxine for 2 weeks and she was brilliant with them. They both settled quickly with her and we found them very relaxed and happy when we returned. She kept us up to date with pictures and messages at all times and she even had to make an impromptu visit to the vet, which was handled with lots of care and patience. Overall we were really happy and enjoyed our holiday whilst knowing our pets were well looked after.

We used Emily and Leigh for our first ever sit through Rover and had a great experience. We’ll definitely be using Emily and Leigh again.

Linda met up with us beforehand to answer our questions and put us at ease. She was efficient and put our minds at rest while we were away for two nights. Our dog is anxious especially when a I am not there but we could go away and relax knowing he was being looked after. Thank you Linda

I couldn’t be happier with the care Hanna provided for my cats! She kept me updated throughout with lovely photos, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. It was clear she genuinely looked after them — and the proof was in the pudding when I returned to find my kitties noticeably calm and settled, more so than when I usually go away. She also took great care of my home, which I really appreciated. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Hanna again and would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a reliable, caring cat sitter!

Louis looked after our little man so well and managed his insulin injections brilliantly. He really took to Louis during the Meet and Greet, and we could see how much he felt comfortable in Louis' care in the photos. Louis sent regular photos and kept us updated on how things were going. Thanks for doing a great job especially with all his medical requirements.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Bournemouth walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bournemouth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
