About: Hi! I'm Poppy, I'm 21 and I am a dog sitter/ groomer based in Southbourne. I've been sitting with Rover since 2023, and I have years of experience that bring confidence in providing top-notch service. From looking after dogs while you're away to sharing my home with a mix of pets of all sizes and personalities, I've got the knack for tailoring care to each furball's quirks. Beyond homes, I've volunteered on farms and sanctuaries, learning the ropes of animal behaviour. Each experience, including my last dog and best friend of ten years, has shaped me into an attentive and energetic carer. With an intuitive relationship with dogs and a confidence in my ability to handle whatever challenges they bring, you can feel at ease knowing your companion is in the right hands. I work as a dog groomer, so i will be able to take your pup to the salon with me during my work days. They have access to water, treats, and a secure separate area if needed, and can be walked in the nearby park during my breaks and before/ after work. I have a walled off yard with a small grassy area for potty breaks at any time, and also live about 30 seconds from a huge park with plenty of open space and wooded areas, and can also walk down to the beach (dog friendly areas) for any dogs that love a paddle in the sea. Pets will be allowed on the furniture/ bed unless you ask for them not to be, and I have dog bowls for food and water and a bunch of toys to keep your dogs entertained. However, please please feel free to bring your own if it makes your pet more comfortable. Please provide your dog's food and a collar/ harness, lead and crate (if they require a crate). I'm always stocked up with dog bags and treats of my own, and have spare collars/ leads in case of a malfunction or issue with any of the equipment you've provided.

Paco spent two nights with lovely Sonya, and I couldn’t be happier with the care he received. Sonya and her partner were absolutely amazing with my little one. Every picture and video they sent showed him enjoying himself to the fullest, which completely put my mind at ease. They’re incredibly mindful of each dog’s energy and needs. They treated my boy with so much patience and affection, even though he’s full of beans and can sometimes come across a bit “funny” to people who don’t know him well. They understood him perfectly. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring sitters. I truly hope Paco can stay with them again in the future.

About: I’ve always had a natural connection with animals and have built both academic and hands-on experience caring for them. I studied Animal Welfare at college and university, which gave me a strong understanding of animal behaviour, wellbeing and responsible care. Alongside this, I worked part-time for five years with a lady who owned German Shepherds, where my duties included walking, grooming, feeding, giving medication, assisting with vet trips and supporting with training. I’ve also volunteered at a dog rescue sanctuary, cared for dogs for people I know, and currently help care for my sister’s dachshund, who I live with. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs and dogs with behavioural issues, and I use a calm, patient approach with positive reinforcement to help dogs feel safe, understood and encouraged. What sets me apart is that I take the time to get to know each dog’s individual routine, personality and needs, and I’ll care for them with the same reliability, affection and attention I would give my own. Pet care fits naturally into my routine as I’m currently looking to build this into regular, full-time work over time. At the moment, I’m starting gradually so I can make sure I give every dog my full attention, patience and consistency. My schedule is flexible, and I’m happy to discuss each dog’s routine, needs and timings to see what works best for everyone. I’d rather take on the right bookings and provide reliable, thoughtful care than overcommit. My home is calm, comfortable and dog-friendly, with a secure fenced garden for supervised outdoor time. I currently share the home with a friendly dachshund, so any boarding would only be offered after making sure both dogs are comfortable together. Introductions would always be handled carefully, and dogs would be supervised and given space to rest separately if needed. If another dog is better suited to being the only dog in the home, the dachshund can stay elsewhere during the booking, so I can keep the environment calm and suitable for each individual dog. I always follow owners’ instructions closely around feeding, walks, medication, routines and house rules, and I’ll make sure each dog feels safe, settled and cared for.

About: Dogs have been my whole life. I grew up in a house with 4, spent most of my life volunteering at various dog rescues, and ran my own dog boarding from 2016-2020. These days I've got 2 of my own - both super friendly and great with visitors - so any dog staying with me lands straight into a relaxed, sociable pack. With 8+ years of boarding experience and a lifetime around dogs, I know how to read body language, prevent issues before they start, and keep every dog calm, comfortable, and safe. Overnight stays are what I do best. Here's what makes my setup a bit different: I work from a dog-friendly office with a dedicated 'dog only' pen area, which means your pup comes along with me and is never stuck home alone for hours. Their day is full - plenty of walks, lots of play and engagement activities, safe spaces to run around, and comfy couches and beds to flop on when it's time to wind down. They get exercise, company, and proper rest - all in a safe environment at home and in the office. You'll never be left wondering how they're doing either. I send regular photo and video updates throughout the stay. I'm also always happy to set up a FaceTime so you can check in and say hello while you're away. Whether your dog is a bundle of energy or more of a couch cuddle-bug, I'll make sure they're happy, looked after, and treated like one of my own while you're away. Drop me a message - I'd love to hear about them! Dog care is woven into my whole day. I'm in a dog-friendly office, so your pup comes with me to a dedicated 'dog only' pen area rather than being left home alone. We head out for an extended bathroom potty-break walk at lunchtime, then home in the evening to a fenced garden for plenty of exploring. We do minimum 1 proper walk a day, with 3 parks all within walking distance from our house to choose from. Mornings, evenings, and weekends are full of play, engagement, and downtime on the couch. Overnight boarding - your dog's home away from home: Overnight stays are what I do best. My husband and I travel a fair bit ourselves, so we know exactly how it feels to leave your dog behind - and how much it matters to have someone you and your dog(s) genuinely trust. When your pup stays with us, they're treated like one of our own: full days of walks, play, and company, comfy couches and beds to relax on, and a secure home with a fully fenced garden. You'll never be left wondering how they're doing either. I send regular photo and video updates throughout the stay and I'm always happy to set up a FaceTime so you can check in and say hello while you're away. I also offer doggy daycare, but overnight boarding is my heart and focus. Your dog will be in a secure, dog savvy home with a fully fenced garden (1.2-2m all the way around) for safe exploring - though they're never out unsupervised. It's a calm household, just me and my husband, no cats or kids, with two friendly resident dogs for easy, sociable company (both of our dogs have a relaxed temperament and very friendly to fit with any personality - Brody is 6 and Kira is 2). During a stay with us, your dog will never be shut away alone. With 8+ years of boarding experience and a lifetime around dogs, I know how to read body language, prevent issues before they start, and keep every dog calm, comfortable, and safe.

About: As a Rover client myself since 2021, I know exactly what it takes to provide peace of mind when you trust someone with your four-legged family member. Having used drop-ins, daycare, walks, and boarding from the owner's side, I know how reassuring a quick photo update is, how vital it is to stick to a precise feeding schedule, and how important transparency is. I treat your dog’s routine as absolute law and deliver the exact high standard of care that I expect for my own dog, Odin. Raising my own 5-year-old Black Labrador through the high-energy puppy stages means I am well-versed in positive reinforcement, maintaining house-training schedules, managing teething, and ensuring safe, controlled socialization. Equally, I understand that older dogs have vastly different needs. Whether it's managing a slower pace on our walks, administering oral medications, recognizing signs of joint discomfort, or simply ensuring they have a quiet, comfortable space to rest, senior dogs receive gentle, attentive care here. I am entirely comfortable handling larger, high-energy breeds, managing leash pulling, and ensuring that play sessions remain safe, balanced, and fun. Your dog will seamlessly blend into a structured, active, and reliable daily schedule: 8:30 AM: A long 45–60 minute morning walk at Bournemouth Gardens (plenty of ball-throwing and running around for high-energy pups!). 1:00 PM & 5:00 PM: Dedicated comfort breaks. 8:30 PM: A secondary 45–60 minute evening walk to wind down for the night. 11:30 PM / Midnight: A final late-night comfort break before settling in for bed. Because I share my home with Odin, we strictly accept dogs who are friendly and comfortable with other dogs. Our home is rarely empty. I work a brief shift Monday to Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. However, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, someone is always at home, ensuring your dog is never left alone during those times. On Mondays and Thursdays, dogs should be comfortable being left for a maximum of 3 hours in the evening alongside Odin. We live in a flat ideally located directly across the road from Bournemouth Gardens, meaning fantastic, green, and expansive walks are right on our doorstep!

About: Since I was little, I’ve always been surrounded by animals. Growing up with dogs, cats and other pets taught me to understand their needs and emotions. I know how to make them feel safe, cared for and happy I currently work remotely from home, which gives me plenty of time for walks and playtime with your furry friend. My children absolutely love dogs and cats and enjoy spending time with them, helping with play and gentle care, which creates a warm and friendly environment for any pet. I have two spacious gardens where pets can safely run, play or relax, as well there’s a beautiful park just a short walk away — perfect for longer adventures.

Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
