“Rory and Becca took great care of our nervous puppy Alfie on his first time away from home. Their dogs were friendly, and Rory kept us updated with photos, which really put us at ease. Alfie loved his stay so much he didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend, especially for nervous dogs. They did a brilliant job.”

About: Having recently retired from the Fire and Rescue Service after more than 35 years of dedicated service as a Fire Investigation Officer and Specialist Search Dog Handler, I am now offering reliable, professional 24/7 pet sitting services. I live in the heart of the New Forest, where I spend every day exercising and enjoying the outdoors with my two retired Fire Service dogs, who are now much-loved family pets. As a lifelong dog owner with over 20 years’ experience training and handling dogs alongside both the Fire and Police Services, I understand the highest standards of canine care, welfare, and behaviour. For your pet’s comfort and safety, I have a purpose-built K9 transport vehicle and am fully trained in K9 First Aid. Whether you need overnight care, extended pet sitting, or regular companionship for your dog, you can be confident they will receive experienced, compassionate, and professional care in a safe and trusted environment. Having retired from the fire service and being the owner of 2 pet dogs living in the heart of the New Forest I spend every day out and about in the fresh air with my beloved k9 companions. I live in a detached property within a quiet area of Fordingbridge with an enclosed front and rear garden covered by cctv. I have access to lots of nearby walks and can access the New Forest within 5 mins from my home address.
“Chloe and her family gave Max a home from home loving experience. We came back to a happy healthy dog, pleased to see us but in no rush to leave Chloe! In extreme temperatures they had clearly looked after him including taking him for a swim to the beach. Chloe sent me photos and updates which were much appreciated. We will definitely be booking with Chloe again.”

About: I'm Jay, a West Harnham local and proud owner of two very opinionated rescue dachshunds (they run the house, I just pay the bills). After more than a decade of looking after pets, from bouncy Labradors to shy cockatiels, I’ve learned that every animal speaks its own quirky language. Luckily, I’m fluent in squeak, woof, and meow. I started pet sitting years ago because friends noticed I was the one who always ended up with an extra lead in my hand or a guinea pig on my lap. What began as “can you help just this once?” turned into a passion I never put down. Whether you need someone to keep your dog happy while you’re away, give your cat company when you’re working late, or make sure the budgie doesn’t throw a tantrum, I’m here to help. I’m based in West Harnham, but I also happily cover Salisbury, Wilton, Netherhampton, and nearby villages. If you're not in these areas, feel free to ask me - I will likely be happy to make a plan to travel. If your pet needs care from someone who takes the job as seriously as they take belly rubs, I’d love to chat. 🐾 Feel free to message me. I currently work from home most days of the week, so I am very flexible with pet care. I’m also available short notice if needed I have a medium size garden that’s private for only my use. I have two small friendly Daxies who love to play. I’m happy to take any pets that board with me on daily walks.

About: I work for the Emergency service so unable to have a dog of my own which is why I want to give your dog the care and love when you go on holiday/hospital stay/whether you just need a break. I have grown up with dogs and have experience with all different breeds. Particularly: sighthounds,pugs/frenchies/spaniels/golden retrievers but are happy to look after any breed. I live on the edge of the new forest so have plenty of great walks near by! Plenty of quiet walks if your dog isn’t a fan of other dogs! I’m happy to accept dogs who stay in bed with their owners as I know they can be difficult to get looked after. DBS checked ✅ Dog/child/pet free home ✅ Secure enclosed garden ✅ Great walks in the new forest ✅ Happy to take multiple pets of same household ✅ Able to collect/drop off ✅ Any questions please get in touch 😊 I work shifts, so my availability is based on my days off. So your dog will have my full time and attention and can and will be taken on adventures with me. Happy to work with your dogs comfort levels and schedule. If they usually sleep in bed with you that’s fine, if they sleep on the sofa that’s fine! If they are crated that’s also fine. Whatever works for them 😊 happy to come to yours and complete your dogs normal routine.

My wife and I work full time but rotate around working from home so have full flexibility for those dogs that require full time engagement. We are available for boarding any days of the week. “Nero had a last minute weekend stay with Laura and can’t wait for another holiday! He came back content from lots of lovely walking, playing and chilling! Do not hesitate to use Laura - she’s fab!”

“Gracie was obviously very happy during her stay with Eleanor. She kept me informed on how the stay was going with plenty of photos. Gracie was well exercised and had lots of attention which she loves. I would be more than happy to ask Eleanor to look after Gracie again”

“Andy's awesome at what he does. I left Dukey with him for a week and then again for a night, lots of cuddles and updates throughout the day. He also makes sure to provide reassurance where needed instead of making it a panic situation overall if your pet feels a bit off, will definitely book again for Dukey!!”

“This is the first time using Rover and we are so pleased that we found Sophie and Josh to look after our three year old dog called Nancy for an over night stay. Sophie and Josh are an incredibly kind and warm couple, with a beautiful home and the most cutest dog of dog their own called Theo. I would like to say thank again …. a forever friend Nancy and Gemma xxxx”

“Ken is 7 months old and this was his first time staying away for the night. He had the best time! Skye was the perfect playmate and kept him so happy and entertained. We received lots of updates and reassurance throughout, which really put our minds at ease. We’re so happy with his stay and will definitely be using Shadia again. Highly recommend!”

“It was Louie’s first time away from us and Chloe was really good with Louie and asked for advice to make him feel more settled. Would recommend Chloe as despite a few issues of Louie missing us he was welcomed like a member of their family. We felt very relaxed leaving Louie and knew he was being well looked after.”

“It was our first time using the Rover app and we couldn’t have been luckier with picking Carly to look after our puppy! She was wonderful from start to finish! Our dog has just returned from his holiday with Carly and cried at the door for her when she left! Thank you for making the process of leaving him overnight for the first time so easy and being so thoughtful and kind with all your communication! We will 100 per cent be using you again!”

“Lynn was amazing from start to finish. She took such great care of Robyn, like she was her own. Excellent communications. I could not recommend Lynn enough and we will definitely call on her in the future.”

“Murali was absolutely wonderful - he took our whippet, Poppet, at short notice and looked after her beautifully. He sent lots of photos and videos whilst she was staying with him and his family, and was highly responsive at all times. I would definitely recommend him and will book Poppy in again with him whenever possible.”

“Thanks, David, for taking such good care of Rolo overnight. We really appreciated the extra effort you made during the heatwave, especially getting up early to walk him before the day warmed up. It was great to receive updates and know he was happy, comfortable, and well looked after. We’d be very happy for Rolo to stay with you again.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Salisbury
Matt and Ximena will never be topped. They watched our boy on numerous trips and the care, love, and compassion they showed him was immeasurable. We had used other sitters prior to Matt and Ximena and first began using them when the others weren't available. After that first visit, we never stopped using them. Very sadly, on this past trip, our dog had a medical emergency. They were fully aware this was a possibility and yet so graciously agreed to still care for him. Through what surely was a traumatic experience, they loved my boy until his last breath and communicated with me constantly through it all. While I will forever be saddened I was therent for my boy in the end, I am so eternally grateful he was in the care of two incredible humans who showered him with love until the end. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will always be thankful for your compassion, love, and patience. If you are looking for someone to love your best friend like you do, please consider Matt and Ximena. I would wish my experience on no one, but ay least I can say with confidence he was in the best of care through it all. ❤️

Kira is incredible! Could not recommend her more. She has a beautiful facility with a huge dog safe garden. My dog is really tricky with anxiety and history of reactivity. Kira was patient and consistent and built up patches trust slowly. She wasn’t phased when I explained patches history and needs. Patch had the best trial stay last night ahead of a week stay at the end of the month. It could not have gone better he loved Kira, her dogs and her home. Thank you Kira x
can’t thank enough for looking after my two dogs, they had a great holiday, I was kept updated the whole time with plenty of photos so always reassured they were happy, safe & having fun with your dog Zekke. Even took them out for walks too which is very much appreciated. thank you again 🐾😊
