About: Hi, I’m Sophie! My partner George and I recently bought our first home in Eastleigh, and we’re both huge dog lovers. While our work commitments mean we can’t have a dog of our own right now, we’d love to help others by providing caring and reliable dog walking and sitting services. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, from a Border Collie to a Lhasa Apso/Yorkie mix, and now a lovely litte Poochon. I’m very used to grooming needs and making sure coats are well cared for. I also regularly help care for family dogs, including Labradors, so I’m confident with both small and large breeds. Having experienced every stage of a dog’s life, I’m comfortable caring for energetic puppies as well as giving extra patience, attention, and love to older dogs. I work full-time across four days a week, which means I’m fully available on Tuesdays and weekends. On my days off, your dog will have my full attention. I’ll always stick to your routine and make sure your pup feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for—whether that’s during a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay. I’m happy to provide as many walks as your dog needs, along with plenty of playtime and attention. They’ll also have access to a secure garden and a safe, dog-friendly home environment. I have a fully fenced, secure garden and plenty of lovely walking routes nearby. I’m also happy to take dogs out in the car for longer walks or new environments if they enjoy that. I always aim to follow your preferences and routine to make sure you feel completely comfortable. My home does have stairs, but these can be safely blocked off if needed. Dogs are welcome to settle in wherever they feel most comfortable. You’re very welcome to bring their bed, crate, blankets, or anything familiar from home. If your dog is used to cuddling up on the sofa, they’ll be more than welcome to do the same here!
“Highly recommended as Amanda is wonderful!! Pickle had his own mini-break with all of the love, care and attention only a true dog lover gives. Pickle has only ever stayed with my daughter before so I was worried about leaving him. I was put totally at ease as I had regular photos and updates throughout the day and I have already booked Amanda again without hesitation to care for Pickle. Thank you so much Amanda xx”

“Neve and Ned were incredible. I would highly recommend leaving your dog in their trusting care. Both Neve and Ned were professional and thorough from the outset. They were proactive in establishing meetings with themselves and Otto to ensure that he would, not only be familiar with them and the space, but also to ensure that they would also be able to look after him and give him the best care possible. They had a number of highly relevant and targeted questions which was clearly designed to allow them to understand the needs of the dog. This included questions about their temperament, known words, and any healthcare needs as well as usual routines. A great indicator of how seriously they take their role in caring for your dog. The space is incredibly clean and well furnished. Neve provides a lot of material such as kibble/beds/water bowls etc already for your dog during your stay which takes a massive weight off of your shoulders in case you forget something during the mid-packing rush. It was also a sweet touch that I did not expect but very much welcomed. Neve and Ned do live with other houseguests but where your dog is staying is on the bottom floor, separate and with access to the garden. Otto did not seem to have any issue with this at all. During the stay, Neve and Ned were incredibly sweet. They both provided regular updates on Otto and provided as many photos and videos as I desired to ease my nerves, even if I was a bit overboard in how much I missed my dog. They also kept me updated with any issues, challenges or decisions they had to make while looking after Otto. It was during these points that you could tell both Neve and Ned were really taking on board whatever information you gave them at the start because every decision they made was exactly what I would have made. They also took Otto on a lot of adventures and allowed him to continue socialising. Otto was never really left alone for long if at all, which I'm sure he is missing now that we are back! Neve was also great at ensuring Otto's medical requirements were complied with and kept us up to date on any developments. I really valued being able to follow along and step in if needed so this was very much welcomed. Throughout the stay and before, Neve and Ned have always been kind and thoughtful in how they communicate. It truly made trusting them with Otto easier. Otto clearly enjoyed his time with them and quickly grew fond of the two of them. I am very glad that we chose Neve. Thank you both for taking great care of Otto.”

“This is the second time Shannon and her sister have looked after Max, and we will definitely be asking them to take care of her again! They sent us lots of photos and videos, which we really appreciated because we’re very anxious dog parents haha. Max came back home super happy, and that gave us so much peace of mind. We definitely highly recommend them! 🫶🐾””

“Thank you so much. Ernie had a fantastic time and Mae sent regular updates and photos. We could see him literally smiling and it was good to know he was happy. He’s very tired now after playing with his new friends. See you soon”

“Secil was amazing! She helped us out with no hesitation during a difficult and stressful situation with another sitter and took such good care of both our cat and dog. Absolutely no issues whatsoever and when we picked our pets up Secil was so kind and understanding of everything. Thank you so much! Will definitely be booking with Secil again!”

Gussoon is absolutely amazing. Our Georgie is a little bit unsure of new people and Gussoon made sure to take her time in getting to know her. The next time we brought Georgie over, she was so excited to go there! She makes such an effort to ensure Georgie has a good time. Could not recommend her enough!! ❤️ Thank you Gussoon!

We have just collected our Cocker spaniel "Bear" from his 4 night stay with Wardah . I was totally reassured by the regular videos updates on how his day was going and what they had planned for their time together. Wardah was great at keeping Bear entertained with lots of lovely different walks and arranging play dates with other dogs around his age. We will definitely be booking again for Bears next stay and I would highly recommend her if your in need of a dog sitter 10/10 from me and Bear

Katie was amazing with our dog Barney! Her house is lovely and plenty of space for the dogs to run around. Barney had the best time and we would happily leave him with Katie again. She kept us updated regularly with messages, photos and videos. Thank you so much Katie :)

We were very happy with the care Sydney took with our elderly Duke. From the start communication was excellent and she sent us several updates of how he was doing during his stay. We felt Duke was extremely well looked after by Sydney (and her sister!) and we would not hesitate to leave him with her again in the future.
We’re so happy we found Charli. She was fantastic with Sammy, who came back a very happy pup! She responded quickly to our last-minute booking, and the whole process was easy. When we dropped Sammy off, she invited us in, asked all the relevant questions, and we felt immediately reassured. We’ll definitely be booking with Charlie again and highly recommend her.

Secil was amazing! She helped us out with no hesitation during a difficult and stressful situation with another sitter and took such good care of both our cat and dog. It was clear that they were kept with so much love and it eased our minds so much to know that they were in good hands. Absolutely no issues whatsoever and when we picked our pets up Secil was so kind and understanding of everything. Thank you so much! Will definitely be booking with Secil again!

Zilin was looking after my very shy Mr Foxy for a few days. She was amazing with him, considering he’s got his character and usually people are worried due to him being too shy to interact in the first few days. She gave him all the space and time to adjust and also took very good care of him as he’s got a special meal plan which we have to follow! She is very knowledgeable in regards to pets and care for them so I’d definitely recommend her as a trusted person to look after your very loved pets! ❤️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
