As always Sophie was a fantastic sitter. Bear got plenty of walks and cuddles, we got regular updates and the house was left spotless. We’ll always be booking Sophie to look after Bear!

About: I provide calm, loving, and reliable care, treating every pet as if they were my own. I had the privilege of owning a beautiful Husky for three years, which gave me hands-on experience with an energetic, intelligent breed that thrives on exercise, routine, and companionship. Since then, I’ve looked after a variety of dogs through house sitting, including a Whippet, a Jack Russell, and, most recently, a wonderful Standard Poodle. I’ve also cared for a lovely cat, so I’m comfortable looking after both dogs and cats and adapting to each pet’s unique personality and needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, so I focus on providing plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and keeping to their usual routine, helping them feel safe, happy, and relaxed while you’re away. I work full-time Monday to Friday from 8am–4pm, with the flexibility to work from home on Thursdays and Fridays. This means I’m available for house sitting, drop-in visits, or daytime walks on those days. Outside of work, I’m happy to provide evening visits, overnight house sitting, and weekend care with a little advance notice. I’m reliable, caring, and will always treat your pets like they’re my own, making sure they receive plenty of love, attention, playtime, and care while you’re away. Whether you have a playful pup who loves walks or a cat who enjoys company and cuddles, I’d love to help and give you peace of mind knowing they’re in safe hands. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. As I provide care in your home, I’ll always follow your instructions to ensure your pet feels relaxed and secure in their familiar environment. I’m happy to arrange a meet-and-greet before any booking so we can get to know each other, discuss your pet’s routine, and make sure they’re comfortable with me. If you use a key safe or access code, I’m more than happy to use this, or you can let me know the best way to access your home. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), or simply keeping your pet company with plenty of cuddles, I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your furry friend is happy and well looked after while you’re away.

About: Having grown up with dogs, cats and horses. I am a huge animal lover. I have pet sat and dog walked from a very young age. At the age of 16 I trained a disobedient male Labrador called Buddy, the family told me I changed their life. I have a way with animals, I love cuddles, walks and playing. I am always happy to assist with looking after pets other than dogs and cats too. No pet is too much for me and with me, they’ll be guaranteed to be spoiled with love. I usually work away on superyachts but I have come home to take a break and possibly find a change of career. Animals have always been the centre of my world and I am hoping this can go further. I will follow all instructions given to keep your pet as safe as possible! I am also happy for pets to stay upstairs with me if this is what they’re used too or shut downstairs if that’s your preference.

Amber looked after our 2.5 year old Cockapoo for us in our home whilst we went away for a week. Amber was polite, and knowledgeable, she was respectful towards our home and left it immaculate upon our return. Amber sent regular updates on her adventures with Hadley, and we know he had a great week with her. We would highly recommend Amber, and thank her for looking after both our dog, and our home.

About: I have had pets for as long as I can remember. While we are mostly been a cat family, we have had an array of pets, from fish to guinea pigs. I always seem to attract the cats however, nicknamed the cat queen in our house. Over the years, I have looked after many family friends dogs; Jack Russell’s, Springer Spaniels, Pomeranians, Labradors, Border Collies. I’ve always loved hiking and walking, and now get to do this as my job, but would love a furry friend to accompany me, so I can play pretend until I own one of my own! I’ve also recently done my first house sit on TrustedHousesitters for two lovely mother and daughter lab pair. It was one of my highlights so far of the year and would love to continue to help other families. I am a very tidy and clean person, and have no problem watering your plants or cleaning out a litter tray! I also have no problem with any energy level of dog, I’d walk for hours and play fetch for days… or just a quick wrap around the roads for cute oldies. I am currently an Outdoor Instructor working with the school holidays. I finish each day at 16:00, so able to drop in or walk to see your furry friends after work. I also have school holidays and weekends off, meaning I’m able to be flexible and spend lots of time playing and walking. I can also house sit during these holidays for whenever you and your loved ones are jetting off. ✈️ I love updating owners and sending lots of pictures of your friends! It is the service that I would like as I know how precious these pets are to us. I can easily follow any particular requirements or where your pet likes to sleep at night, to make sure they’re not unsettled by a new friend.

Aliya and her partner Amir were the most wonderful sitters, very kind, patient and nothing was too much trouble. This was the first time I have left my two little dogs in the hands of sitters, as I always had my father, who has now passed away, look after them, so a little nervous but I really could not have wished for a couple as lovely as Aliya and Amir to take care of Bumble and Basil. I had regular updates and photos, they did not leave them at home alone at all during their 5 days and gave them regular walks. My home was also kept clean and tidy. would highly recommend either to anyone to look after their beloved pets.

Lisa-Ann took wonderful care of our Red Labrador, Rex, taking the time to get to know him and us beforehand. Our doggie enjoyed wonderful walks and fun whilst we were away for the week and was very relaxed in her company. Her experience and love of dogs is excellent, alongside her communication to us throughout. Highly recommend Lisa-Ann, who gave over and above. We hope another opportunity arises in the future for Rex to hang out with Lisa-Ann and her family again, thank you!

About: Let me take care of your beloved animals while you cant. I've retired from my role in the police and civil service and am now starting my new career in petcare. Enhanced DBS checked and canine first aid trained. Animals are an essential part of my life and I couldn't see myself with out them for long. From an early age I have owned my own pets and worked in petcare. I've looked after birds, tropical fish, cats and dogs to ferrets, rats, mice, spiders and scorpions! My first paid jobs were in an Aquarium shop and then a Pet shop. I've cared for animals throughout all stage of their life. I've hand reared birds and raised both puppies and kittens and even cared for my dog through pregnancy and having her litter of puppies. I have been there holding them as they make their journey out of this world and into the next. I feel it is an honour to be part of the lives of the animals I care for and I take the responsibility of pet care very seriously. I've had experience with rescue dogs, mixed breed and pure breed dogs and understand that each animal comes with its own unique personality and care requirements. I currently own Hungarian Vizsla's and have a strong understanding of these high energy breeds. My previous Cavalier King Charles spaniels suffered with a heart condition and I'm experienced in delivering medications as required. Our previous rescue dog required significant behavioural training and protective equipment. I've had experience in using a variety of petcare equipment including muzzles, harnesses, crates, booties, comfort jackets, post surgical collars and more. Although it has been a while since I owned my own cats, I raised my two from kittens that were no larger than the palm of my hand. I currently have a tropical Aquarium and gold fish pond and understand the requirements for the care of these animals. If you believe I would be a good fit to look after your pet, please dont hesitate to get in touch. You can be reassured that I am doing this as my full time role, so when I am looking after your pets and home I will be able to give it my full attention and your pets will not have to compete with other priorities. A night sit is equivalent to 24 hours, for example 12pm on the first day till 12pm on the following. If you require earlier starts or later finishes, a day charge would be payable addition to the overnight rate. Day sits or drop in's may be available in the local area (Wareham, Sandford, Swanage, Studland, Corfe Castle), but overnight and longer sits will take precedence. Day sits will be charged at an hourly rate and if driving to the location is required a fuel surchage will also be payable. For further information please see the rates section of the profile or dont hesitate to get in contact. How your pets are cared for will be based on the information you provide and being set in their own homes means you can stick to their normal routines and activities. A typical day would involve a walk, play, socialisation if your pet likes that and exploring the local area. For puppies and young dogs I can provide some basic training, I have only completed basic training in this field, but have alot of experience having raised 5 dogs from puppies. I want to ensure your dog is safe at all times, so I would be lead walking in public or using a long line for a little extra freedom. The more information you can give me about your pets the better I will be able to look after them exactly how you'd like, so we would discuss this in greater depth if you choose me to look after your pets. I will happily provide photos and updates regularly to your preferred contact method. The more I get to know your pet the more activities we will be able to do together, for example I have taken a pet I was looking after away in the motorhome to the new forest with our own dogs and friends as well. They had a wonderful time on their first camping trip. We could go for a drive on a day trip out, pub outings or walks in the Country parks etc. All activities would be agreed with you prior to undertaking. I would look after your home with the utmost respect and follow all the rules of the house regarding pet sleeping arrangements, security and alarm procedures, keeping keys and codes safe and secure and respectful behaviour for your neighbours. I would clean up after myself and poo pick the garden as necessary, but please note I do not provide a house or garden cleaning service. I would require a clean bedroom to sleep in, a bathroom to use, access to cooking and food preparation areas. I would bring my own food, but would require the basic staple foods like tea coffee oils pantry items to be available for use. For longer sits I would require wifi access as well.

Kate looked after Ozzy with so much love, care, and attention. It was clear from the start that she genuinely cares about animals, and we felt completely at ease knowing he was in such capable hands. Ozzy was happy, relaxed, and very well looked after when we returned. Kate also went above and beyond by watering our flowers during the heatwave, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. She is responsible, reliable, and kind, and we couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. We highly recommend Kate to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets.

First time we have used someone to house/dog sit for our Lab Nova. Nicky was very efficient setting up the house sit and able to come and meet Nova at home and go through all her requirements beforehand. Nicky demonstrates a calm and mature approach to house sitting, so we knew Nova would be in safe hands and well looked after. We would happily use Nicky again and can recommend her too.

We are so pleased that we found Edita, it was clear to us straight away that she loves dogs and has a great connection with them. She agreed to have our dog at short notice and made everything so easy with great communication and flexibility about arrangements. Our dog is an elderly rescue and is quite needy, but Edita was fine with this and sent us messages and photos while we were away, giving us confidence that our dog was being cared for and was having an amazing holiday! We highly recommend Edita and won’t hesitate to ask her to look after our dog again

About: I have several years of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes, from looking after family and friends’ beloved companions to providing recurring house-sitting and pet care for a variety of clients. I’m comfortable with a wide range of dog breeds, temperaments, and sizes, and I take pride in offering calm, attentive care tailored to each pet’s needs. I’m also experienced in administering medication and have cared for older dogs, including those managing conditions like diabetes. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or extra cuddles, I make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and well looked after. I work as a freelance creative and so I have lots of time where I am working remote and can be around for plenty of long walks and cuddles for your pets! I love caring for pets in the owners home. Taking care of the pets at their own home makes them so much more comfortable and allows me to easily fit into their existing schedules and routines.

Hannah stayed in our home for two weeks to look after our German Shepherd, and she was outstanding. Calm, knowledgeable, and genuinely great with dogs. Our dog took to her immediately. She treated our home with real respect, kept everything tidy, and left the place immaculate. We also had a few unexpected household issues during the stay, and she handled everything sensibly and without fuss. I would trust her again in a heartbeat and recommend her without hesitation.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds and temperaments. I grew up with dogs and previously owned a Rottweiler named Barley, who sadly passed away last year. Caring for her deepened my understanding and love for dogs, and I now want to continue being around them and providing the best care possible. I hold diplomas in canine nutrition, raw feeding, canine first aid, animal welfare, veterinary assistance, dog grooming, canine behaviour training, and canine business. I have also worked closely with experienced dog trainers in Dorset, gaining valuable practical knowledge in handling, training, and understanding dog behaviour. I am confident caring for puppies, adult dogs, and seniors, and I always prioritise safety, routine, and each dog’s individual needs. Whether it’s feeding, walking, training reinforcement, or simply providing companionship, I treat every dog as if they were my own. I have a flexible schedule, I am a mobile microchip implanter, which allows me to give pets plenty of time, attention, and care throughout. I am available for walks, drop-ins, and house sitting 7 days a week. I can adapt to your dog’s usual routine, whether that includes early morning walks, structured feeding times, or evening care. Your pet will never feel rushed and will always receive consistent, reliable attention. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I have strong knowledge of dog care, behaviour, and handling, and I always take the time to understand each dog’s routine, personality, and individual needs. I create a calm, structured environment where dogs feel safe and relaxed. I’m confident with different breeds, sizes, and temperaments, and I’m happy to follow any specific instructions you have, including feeding routines, walks, and training consistency. I also provide regular updates and photos, so you can feel reassured your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

Guler stayed with our dogs for two days over New Year. Initially, I was nervous to leave them but while we were away Guler provided video and updates to put my mind at ease. Cassidy was fabulous, we had a meet and greet a few weeks before the stay which was really helpful. While I was away she regularly kept me updated with great photos which meant I could enjoy my holiday safe in the knowledge my dogs were having a great time. This was particularly reassuring as one of my dogs is elderly and has a few additional needs, but he was clearly having fun! I came home to two very happy dogs and a clean and tidy house. I will definitely be using Cassidy again for my next trip 😊

LOOK NO FURTHER. Hannah looked after our dog Mia while we were away. I was very nervous to leave Mia with someone else because Mia and I never been apart for that long since Mia was a puppy. Hannah made me feel very comfortable from the beggining. I prepared a very extensive guide for Hannah and when she arrived to sit Mia, I could see Hannah spent time reading it before coming as she already knew few of Mia’s quirks. During her stay, Hannah kept me well informed through the day with loads of photos and videos which I am so thankful for. Hannah stayed at my place in the hottest week of the year, and she was always been mindful of the heat. By day 2 I felt really relaxed and knew I made the right choise for Mia. Hannah took Mia to a cafe which she loved. Hannah also followed all my guidelines I asked her to and looked after Mia as if she was her own dog. Thank you SO much Hannah for taking such good care of my little doggy. Mia is very much looking forward to seeing you again in September.

Linda was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend her. Linda kindly came to our house for a pre-meet so that I could explain the increasingly bespoke needs of my elderly Jack Russell Terrier, Meg, but also show her around the house and garden. Throughout the sit Linda kept in close touch and sent much appreciated photos. She was caring and empathetic. And asked questions if in doubt. I returned home to a very happy dog and a tidy house. Very grateful.

Amy was really great and professional from our first contact. We made a last minute request for house sitting our Labrador, Hardy. Amy got back very quickly and came over for a meet and greet. Hardy was completely comfortable with her and she was great with him. Amy's stay with Hardy was great for us, she was prompt and gave regular feed back. Hardy was very content when we got home. We would have no problem with recommending Amy and will certainly ask her to sit for Hardy in the future.

Puzzle and Taggy were very happy when we got home last night, they'd had a lovely time with us away! Sophie was conscientious when she came for a meet-up, checking and noting down various details, and was good company taking Taggy on a trial walk. She provided us with photo updates whilst we were away, I was relaxed as the girls were obviously in capable hands. We didn't see Sophie on our return as our boat was delayed and we had suggested she go on home, but the house and dogs were in good order and I'd have no hesitation in recommending her.

As newbies to Rover, we were of course a little apprehensive about inviting new people to look after our fur baby. How lovely was Charlie, and his charming partner. Punctual, polite and presentable, it very obvious that he is kind and caring and our girl seemed very comfortable. Would give 10 stars if I could. Chloe was fantastic. She looked after our 3 dogs superbly and was extremely diligent at giving the epileptic dog her meds on time multiple times through the day. The house was kept spotlessly clean, Chloe messaged us multiple times a day to give updates, and even helped an extra couple of hours when our flight home was delayed. Can’t thank you enough Chloe and will definitely be using you again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Purbeck

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Purbeck on Rover is £48.56 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 511 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Purbeck. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Purbeck walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Purbeck choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
