I recently had the pleasure of having Laura care for my two French Bulldogs, and I cannot say enough good things about her! From the very beginning, she was incredibly professional and attentive to my pets' needs. During her stay, she kept me updated with regular photos and messages, showing how happy my dogs were. It was evident that she genuinely loves animals and provided them with plenty of playtime, walks, and cuddles. My Frenchies were calm and content when I returned home, which speaks volumes about her exceptional care. Not only did she take excellent care of my dogs, but she also looked after my house impeccably. Everything was clean and tidy, and I felt relieved knowing that my home was in good hands. I highly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a compassionate and responsible pet sitter. I will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future!

Christine was great, she looked after my two cane corso’s, one is a puppy and can be hard work. She kept me updated throughout and I could tell they loved their time with Christine by how sad they were after she had gone! The house was left spotless a lot more than when I left it (you didn’t have to). Would definitely recommend Christine your pets will be in good hands. Thank you!

Alison helped us out at the last minute and we felt very relaxed leaving our senior dog with her. We returned to find he had spent the whole evening with Alison instead of spending time on our bed which he’s apt to do. This I think sums it up. Thank you so much Aii for looking after Thomas and allowing us to have a lovely evening.

Hollie was great with Look Look! Hollie comes of as quiet and calm. She understood what needs to be done through the document we sent her and had taken care of Look Look well. I am sure her experience working in Southampton city farm also played a role. Her extended long stay discount is a bargain, we felt the need to tip her well as she even washed the sheets after her 5 nights stay with our dog! The house was kept clean and just like how we left it. The best proof of great service is when she left, the dog was still wanting to play with her and was sad that she is leaving. She truly loves animals and we will definitely recommend her.

Kate looked after Ozzy with so much love, care, and attention. It was clear from the start that she genuinely cares about animals, and we felt completely at ease knowing he was in such capable hands. Ozzy was happy, relaxed, and very well looked after when we returned. Kate also went above and beyond by watering our flowers during the heatwave, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. She is responsible, reliable, and kind, and we couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. We highly recommend Kate to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets.

Keighley recently looked after my two dogs for the day. We met before hand and they both took to her straight away. I also asked if she could take them to the local paddock which Keighley was happy to do. She updated me through the day and included photos which was lovely. Will definitely be booking Keighley again! Thank you for taking great care of my girls!

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life 🐾 I grew up with larger breeds and now regularly care for my mum’s three Chihuahuas (one is a Chihuahua–Jack Russell cross!), so I’m very comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities. Dogs have truly always been a huge part of my life. I have a strong understanding of dog behaviour. When I was younger, we had Boxer dogs, one of whom required professional training. I attended those training sessions, which taught me a lot about reading dog behaviour, respecting boundaries, and understanding when a dog needs space just as much as when they want attention, play, or cuddles. I also have experience administering oral medication and am more than happy to do this for your dog, as long as clear instructions are provided. I’m open to caring for dogs with special needs and would be happy to gain more experience in this area. If your dog does have special requirements, please let me know the details so I can ensure they receive the best possible care. ⭐️ Currently offering reduced fees as I’m new to this app ⭐️ I work nights but sometimes work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility during the day and evenings. As I’m self-employed, I can adjust my schedule when needed and plan my time around your pet’s routine. I’m reliable, organised, and always make your pet’s needs, comfort, and happiness my top priority 🐾 Whether that’s sticking to feeding times, walks, playtime, or quiet company, your pet will always come first. Home Visits & Walks • For safety, I keep dogs on the lead during walks if they don’t have reliable recall. If your dog has good recall and I’ve seen this first-hand, we can absolutely revisit this once I’ve gotten to know both you and your dog. An extendable lead is a great option so they can still have plenty of freedom to explore and run around parks. • I’ll always treat your home with care and leave it just as I found it, I will wash up after myself, take bins out and change bedding, making sure you come back to your home as it was. If your dog has an accident, I’ll happily clean it up — please provide cleaning products, just in case! • For home visits and overnight stays, I’m more than happy to care for multiple dogs. When it comes to walks, however, the safety and wellbeing of your pets, myself, and the public is my top priority. For this reason, I’m able to walk a maximum of three dogs at a time (or two at a time for large breeds). In multi-dog households with more than three dogs, walks will be done in separate groups to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety. For example, four dogs would be walked as two at a time, and five dogs would be walked as three first, followed by the remaining two. • Communication is important, if I feel I need to contact you about your pet or your home, I will do so without hesitation. An additional contact number of a family member, neighbour or friend is preferred incase I am unable to get hold of you. • Clear instructions about your pet, their needs and quirks is essential to ensuring your furry family is comfortable and happy while their pet parent is away. • I’m more than happy to take pictures of your pet and send you regular updates while you are away! I want you to feel relaxed knowing your pet and your home is safe while you are away. • I have a car & drivers license and I’m happy to take your pets to a preferred area for walks or change in scenery, only dogs that are well-behaved in cars and will be happy to sit securely in the back of my car (for safety reasons), this is optional of course and only after I’ve got to know your pets. Small dogs only for car trips, and a maximum of three due to having a smaller car. ⸻ Boarding • I only take one small dog at a time, so your pet gets my full attention and a calm, relaxed stay. • Your dog should be house-trained (able to let me know when they need to go outside and not have regular accidents). • Dogs are very welcome on the furniture, as long as they’re up to date with flea treatment. • Dogs are also welcome to sleep on the bed. If you’d prefer they sleep in their own bed, please feel free to provide one so they feel comfortable and at home. • There won’t be any other dogs in my household during your dog’s stay. My family dogs live with my mum most of the time. I do have a bearded dragon, who stays safely in his vivarium and will not be let out during your dog’s stay. If your dog is sensitive to small animals, please let me know so I can ensure everything remains completely separated and stress-free for everyone. • As I live in a flat, quieter dogs are preferred to keep things comfortable for both your dog and my neighbours. • I also have a small, shared ground-floor balcony area that your dog can enjoy on a lead, I prefer to take them to the park across the road where they will have more to enjoy, but my ground-floor balcony is suitable for toilet breaks and fresh air.

About: For the past 10 years, I’ve been running a small dog rescue on my own land in Portugal, focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs. Working with volunteers and local charities, we built a cage-free setup where dogs lived as part of a stable social group rather than in kennels. At any given time there were usually around 10 dogs living together. I was the primary caretaker, so managing a group of dogs and keeping things steady was just part of everyday life. I've cared for dogs of all sizes, ages and temperaments, including puppies, senior dogs, blind and deaf dogs, dogs with disabilities, dogs recovering from illness, and dogs who have been neglected. Behavioural issues are not a problem for me. My approach is calm, practical, and focused on reading each animal and responding to what they need in the moment. I am compassionate and gentle. As well as dogs, I’ve had cats and chickens my whole life, and I also have experience caring for horses, pigs, goats, and ducks. Animals have been at the centre of my life for many years, and I love caring for them. I’m currently in the UK for a few months while I prepare to get married and relocate back to Europe. I’m staying with friends during this time, which means I have a very flexible schedule and am available throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Pet care fits easily into my routine at the moment, and I’m able to be fully present and reliable with bookings. I care for pets in their own home so they stay in a familiar, low-stress environment. I follow their routine closely, including feeding, walks, medication, and any specific needs. I’m experienced in quickly settling into different homes and maintaining a calm, structured presence. I’m respectful of the space, keep everything secure and clean, and provide clear regular updates. With over 10 years of rescue experience, I’m confident handling a wide range of temperaments, including dogs that need patience or close supervision.

Hannah took such great care of our pups and our home while we were away for a week. She is very personable, easy to communicate with and insightful when it came to learning our pets’ needs. We really appreciated how she got to know each of our dogs and catered to them individually. She provided great updates when we checked in with her throughout the week! Our dogs loved her from the moment they met her! It was so great to have peace of mind while we were away. 10/10 would book with Hannah again!!

Aliya And Amir cared for our 22 month year-old cavapoo Ralf for two weeks. This was the first time leaving our dog while we went away and as first time dog parents were pretty nervous. We needn’t of worried, They were absolutely fantastic with Ralf and took such good care of him Ralf was genuinely sad to see them go watching out the windows as they drove away. I can tell that Ralf had a great time and they sent me regular updates as to how he was getting on. it was so reassuring and has left us feeling confident for future trips away. Communication before and during the trip away was brilliant, you can tell they genuinely care for your pets wellbeing. We hope they will always be available for future trips away as we can’t imagine using anybody else to look after Ralf. Many thanks again Aliya and Amir, Warm regards Siobhan, Ian and Ralf.

About: ✔️ Large deer-fenced garden ✔️ No pets or children of our own ✔️ City & Guilds qualified in dog grooming, dog behaviour, & dog first-aid. ✔️ Insurance cover up to £25k by 'The Rover Guarantee' ✔️ One pet at a time or multiple from the same family 👉 Please note: we only accept dogs that are neutered, and well-behaved! 🐶 About us: We are a professional couple living on the edge of the New Forest who run an accountancy practice from home. We enjoy an active lifestyle when we're not at our desks, as well as a pub garden when the weather permits. My partner (Alex) and I have grown up with dogs and have always been around them in some capacity. My experience with dogs is extensive as I am also a qualified City & Guilds dog groomer. Part of my module as a groomer included pet behavior and first aid for dogs. 🐶 About our house: We are based in West Wellow, Hampshire, which is easily accessible from the motorway. Our house is spacious with a large back garden for your dog to enjoy without restrictions. The garden is deer fenced all the way around, giving them a safe playground during their stay. We have hard heated flooring throughout the ground floor of our house, so there's no need to worry about accidents or mess. The dogs love the heated floor which keeps them nice and toasty when it's time for bed. You can relax during your time away with the knowledge that we don't take security lightly; we have electric gates at the front of the property to conceal the drive from the main road, and CCTV & flood lights surrounding the house to deter any unwanted visitors. If you choose to leave your pet with us, rest assured that they will get lots of love and attention and will never be left alone for any substantial time. As the main carer for your pet, I remain completely flexible for all your pets needs. We only commit to looking after one pet at a time, meaning your pooch will be the center of our attention throughout their entire stay! 🐶 During their stay: I work from home full-time, so I’m able to keep your dog company throughout their entire stay. I like to break my working day up with lunchtime and early evening walks. I'm happy to provide you with regular updates and photos of your pet during their staycation as much as you'd like. 🐶 Meet & Greet: If you would like to arrange a meet & greet before booking your pet's staycation, I would be more than happy to invite you over at a time convenient to you both. Although we only take one dog at a time, I'm happy to have more than one dog at a time if they are from the same family or are familiar with one another. I look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks, Lorrin Please see FAQ's below 👇 Q. How does pet care fit into your daily or weekly routine? A. I work from home full-time so can ensure your canines are never left alone for substantial periods. I love having an excuse to get away from my desk during the day, and will happily provide them with a lunch time walk. Q. How do you care for pets in your home? A. We have a large deer fenced back garden, which makes perfect safe roaming for your fur baby. We only host one dog at a time so they will never need to make compromises while in our care.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred New Forest walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New Forest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
