I chose Sophie for a day care stay for our beloved Maia, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment we met them, they were welcoming and friendly. Maia was made to feel part of the family and enjoyed spending time with Sophie, her family, and their lovely dog Theo. It was reassuring to know she was in such a caring and safe environment while we were away. Sophie kept us updated throughout the day and when we picked Maia up, she was happy, relaxed, and clearly had a wonderful time. We would highly recommend Sophie and her family to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and attentive dog sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of Maia!

Secil looked after Bertie for a whole week during g the daytime. By the second day, Bertie got excited just getting in the car as he knew he was seeing Secil again. He loved every minute, Secil was very flexible for us with early starts and later pick ups. Thank you so very much for taking care of Bertie. We will definitely be back!!

Wardah and her partner were fantastic, it was our first time using Rover and they completely put our mind at ease, giving a nice run through of what they would do when I dropped Koda off. They took him out for two walks and gave many updates throughout the day, would use them again in a heartbeat.

About: Hi, I’m Jiani, a passionate dog lover based in Southampton. As a proud owner of a miniature Dachshund, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pet like family. I have hands-on experience looking after dogs of different ages and personalities, from energetic puppies to older dogs who need a little extra patience and attention. I’m reliable, responsible, and organised in my day-to-day work, and I bring the same level of care and commitment when looking after pets. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles on the sofa, or simply keeping to their usual routine, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I can provide regular updates, photos, and messages for complete peace of mind, so you’ll always know how your furry friend is doing. I look forward to meeting you and your dog! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. As a dog owner myself, I already structure my day around regular walks, feeding times, play, and companionship. My Dachshund, Robin, is a much-loved member of the family, so I understand the importance of consistency and attention to a dog’s physical and emotional needs. I work locally and have evenings, weekends, and school holidays available, allowing me to dedicate quality time to the pets in my care. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping your pet company, I’ll ensure they receive plenty of attention and care throughout the day. I am also happy to provide regular photo updates so you can see how your pet is getting on while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. I live in a clean, comfortable, and pet-friendly home where dogs can relax and feel secure. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, needs, and personality to ensure they receive personalised care and attention. As a dog owner myself, I understand the trust involved in leaving your pet with someone else. I will treat your dog as if they were my own, providing plenty of supervision, affection, exercise, and a safe environment. I am happy to follow any specific instructions regarding feeding, medication, training, or routines to help your pet feel as comfortable as possible. For boarding and daycare services, I have a friendly Dachshund, Robin, at home. Meet-and-greets can be arranged beforehand to ensure all dogs are comfortable together. I will also provide regular updates and photos, giving you peace of mind while you’re away.

Laura looked after our 11-week-old puppy and was fantastic. Rosie and Laura quickly formed a lovely bond, and she really listened and followed our instructions. She kept her safe, helped with her early training, and sent regular updates throughout the day, giving us great peace of mind. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend Laura to others!

A wonderful, calm and capable dog sitter with whom we are happy to leave our puppy. Lily clearly had a great time with Maria and her family. I already have other, longer, bookings with Maria and that in itself the highest possible recommendation I can give. Have no doubts at all - your dog will be loved and cared for.

About: I have a strong love for animals and I understand the importance of making sure you have someone trust worthy to look after your furry friends as I understand how worrying this can be. Since I was young I have cared for my friends and families animals (both cats and dogs) and still continue to regularly. I currently work from home full time Monday to Friday with weekends off work so I have a lot of time to spend with your furry friends and look forward to having their company. I always abide by the owners rules (i.e. amount of walks/feeding times/ whether an animal doesn't like something/whether they need medication at a certain time) other than this, I will give your pet a lot of attention, play time and belly rubs (IF they like it!) :)

About: I’m new to Rover, but I’m not new to caring for dogs. I’ve had dogs in my life for 44 years and currently care for my own elderly dogs (Oscar (15) & Lucy (16)), both of whom have needed a lot of patience, routine and gentle handling as they’ve got older. Through them, I’ve gained real experience with senior dog care, sight loss, reduced hearing, medication routines, mobility issues, and understanding when a dog needs calm reassurance rather than too much fuss. I’ve also looked after puppies & dogs for friends and family, and I’m very comfortable following each dog’s normal routine closely. I know how important the little details are, from feeding times and medication to favourite blankies & toys, walking habits, nervous behaviours and the small things that help a dog feel calm and settled. I don’t think there’s anything quite like a dog. They are funny, loyal, gentle, soulful little creatures who somehow make the world feel better just by being in it. I genuinely believe dogs are one of the best things in life, and caring for them properly is something I take seriously. I work from home Monday to Friday and have a flexible schedule, so I’m around throughout the day for company, toilet breaks, feeding routines, walks and plenty of attention. I’m used to planning my day around dogs and their routines, including set meal times, medication needs, rest time and comfort. Walks can be fitted around my working day, including during my breaks or any walking meetings I have with my team. I am currently offering boarding in my own home, as my own dogs have a calm, steady routine and I’m always close by. I care for dogs in my own home, where I keep things calm, safe and settled. I have two elderly dogs myself, so my home is already built around a gentle routine, quiet care and close supervision. They mostly sleep now and are used to being around dogs from friends and family, including younger dogs, so the house is calm rather than busy. I’m very mindful of helping dogs feel comfortable, especially if they are older, nervous, have medical needs, or simply need a little time to settle in. I will always follow your instructions closely, including feeding routines, medication, walks, toilet breaks, sleeping arrangements and any house rules or quirks your dog may have. Every dog is different, so I’d want to understand what makes them feel safe and happy before they stay. Dogs in my care would have plenty of company throughout the day, as I work from home and am always around. They would not be left alone for long, usually no more than around 15 minutes if I needed to pop to the local shop.

Claire was amazing. We had a last minute request to look after Moby for the day whilst we went to Paulton's Park. We made the request the day before and Claire immediately stepped up and saved us! She was flexible when we were delayed on the way down and friendly throughout. Moby immediately felt at home and Claire sent several updates and photos so we knew he was happy! Moby clearly had a great time and I would highly recommend Claire to anyone looking for doggy care!

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - New Forest

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in New Forest on Rover is £28.75 per day (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 826 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in New Forest. About 87% of New Forest sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your New Forest commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
