“Keighley did a fantastic job looking after our 2 dogs whilst on our week long holiday. She came round to meet our two dogs before the holiday to make sure our two dogs liked her and to start knowing their routine. Keighley asked lots of questions to male sure she got it right which we really liked! Keighley kept us updated with photos of our dogs throughout the holiday and letting us know what they’d been up to. Once we got back, the house was in tip top shape and she left it really clean and tidy. Keighley also left us all a treat as a thank you which was lovely. We will definitely be using Keighley again in the future!”

“Sally is a lovely young lady with a calm friendly persona. Our dog was very chilled and felt at ease with Sally. I have never left our boy with anyone before but I will definitely be happy to leave him with Sally again should the need arise. Thank you Sally x”

“We felt completely relaxed knowing our dog, Brew, was in good hands. Julie was easy to arrange with, communicated well before and during the stay, and was clearly very caring. Brew is already looking forward to having Julie come over again soon.”

“Rhea sat with our gentle giant labrador for the day. Rhea met Yogi prior to the stay and was just such a lovely lady with a gentle nature that i knew straight away Yogi would like her and be safe whilst we enjoyed a whole day out which does not happen often! Yogi was completely relaxed when we returned and Rhea had taken Yogi out for a walk and followed his feeding regime. Yogi has arthritis and we don't tend to leave him for long so it was lovely to have the opportunity of a day out and we will be planning another one shortly :)”

“Kerry was absolutely fabulous with Rosie. She updated me daily and kept in the know when she has taken her medicine. I came home to a very happy puppy who miss her adventures with Kerry! Will definitely book again and 100% recommend! Thank you! ☺️”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life and can always be trusted by family and friends to look after their pets when they’re away. I also train my dogs every day as it gives me the opportunity to communicate with them and it fills me with great pride watching them succeed. I find joy in spending time with all dogs and cats whether they like to spend all day playing or just chilling with you on the couch. I’m currently unemployed and recently dropped out of university after sustaining serious injuries from a road traffic accident (I am now fully mobile). I work part-time on Sundays but apart from this I am available all day every day. I understand that all pets are different so I always maintain good communication with the owner and never do anything they wouldn’t do. I keep dogs on their leashes unless explicitly stated by the owner that it’s safe to let them off. I pay very close attention to my dogs on walks, especially around unfamiliar dogs and I always look at their body language to make sure they are safe and happy.
“If I could leave more stars I would! Tucker has been so well looked after and lots of walks and cuddles! Lots of photo updates for us, excellent communication. Caitlin you are an absolute star, huge Thankyou!! Xx”

“A very punctual and pleasant chap. The dogs took to him immediately and spent a relaxed evening with Daniel... cuddling on the sofa according to photo evidence!!! We hope to book Daniel again next year should we revisit this area.”

About: For the past 10 years, I’ve been running a small dog rescue on my own land in Portugal, focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs. Working with volunteers and local charities, we built a cage-free setup where dogs lived as part of a stable social group rather than in kennels. At any given time there were usually around 10 dogs living together. I was the primary caretaker, so managing a group of dogs and keeping things steady was just part of everyday life. I've cared for dogs of all sizes, ages and temperaments, including puppies, senior dogs, blind and deaf dogs, dogs with disabilities, dogs recovering from illness, and dogs who have been neglected. Behavioural issues are not a problem for me. My approach is calm, practical, and focused on reading each animal and responding to what they need in the moment. I am compassionate and gentle. As well as dogs, I’ve had cats and chickens my whole life, and I also have experience caring for horses, pigs, goats, and ducks. Animals have been at the centre of my life for many years, and I love caring for them. I’m currently in the UK for a few months while I prepare to get married and relocate back to Europe. I’m staying with friends during this time, which means I have a very flexible schedule and am available throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Pet care fits easily into my routine at the moment, and I’m able to be fully present and reliable with bookings. I care for pets in their own home so they stay in a familiar, low-stress environment. I follow their routine closely, including feeding, walks, medication, and any specific needs. I’m experienced in quickly settling into different homes and maintaining a calm, structured presence. I’m respectful of the space, keep everything secure and clean, and provide clear regular updates. With over 10 years of rescue experience, I’m confident handling a wide range of temperaments, including dogs that need patience or close supervision.

“Natasha was fantastic with my cat Olten, he can be temperamental but she was patient and he even sat on her knee. She sent me lots of updates and pictures and last minute did an extra night which was so helpful! She also left the house super clean. I would definitely book again 😊”

“This was our first experience of needing a house sitter and Olivia could not have made the experience any more easy. Olivia clearly adores animals and kept us updated with pictures and messages of her stay. It was easy to see why our pets warmed to her so quickly. To top off the experience, our house was immaculately left. We would happily have Olivia come stay again. Can’t recommend enough!”

“Repeat booking with Zuzanna, who was fantastic with our 6 month Irish terrier, Sherlock. Punctual, friendly & very comfortable with Sherlock, put him at ease immediately & he was super happy to see Zuzanna again. Will be rebooking for sure. Would highly recommend 🐾”

“Michelle was the best dog sitter we could have hoped for. Our doggos loved her and were well looked after with lots of walkies, and our home was well kept. Our neighbours even commented on how lovely Michelle was! We got regular updates and photos of our dogs and she stuck to their routine. We would definitely recommend using Michelle and we're hoping to us her again for next May half term!”

“Hayley looked after Milo at our house for 10 days, whilst we were on holidayand did so at short notice due to our previous sitter cancelling. Through her time looking after Milo, we received regular updates and photos, showing how Milo was getting on and enjoying his time with her. We returned to find the house as we had left it, which was welcomed after a long flight. Hayley is a fantastic sitter and I could recommend her highly enough...so much so, that I'm not sure Milo even noticed we had gone!”

“Booked Mea & John last minute for a few hours to look after the 3 pups. Very responsive and came over to meet the dogs beforehand. They loved Mea when she arrived and were happy to have her sit with them for the 4 hours. 2 of the pups are finicky and were absolutely fine with Mea on the night. Communication was great and I would happily use Mea again.”

About: Growing up I have owned dogs, cats and horses, looking after all of their needs. I am well equipped when it come to animals needs, from taking care of my own pets as well as family friends and neighbours. I am currently a dog walker and I am looking to take up a few more hours. I am currently a dog walker and always pop home every few hours in between walks. My weeks vary so I am very flexible when it comes to checking in or walking your dog. I ensure my dog is always cared for and won’t be left alone any longer than 4 hours. Which is rare as someone is usually always home. If I am taking care of your pet I am happy to meet the requirements you and your animal needs.
About: Grew up with a border collie (lots of long walks and training). I recently lost a Romanian Princess (rescue dog) and want to care for other people's beloved pets (cats and dogs) the way I took care of her. I'm working from home full time. This means I can visit in the morning, lunchtime and evening. Alternatively, I could work from your house (WiFi please). I live with my husband (a bigger live of pets than i) and my 2 year old son. My son is at nursery or other childcare during the week. For boarding or day care, your fur baby wouldn't see him during the weekday. However, he knows to "wave hello and give them some space", they are given separate spaces to eat and rest. I can walk your dog on lead or drive them to a safe location for them to be on or off lead. We could do a little training (commands or sniff). Cuddles as wanted by your pet (cat or dog). I find this question tricky because I care for your pets as they need. Each dog or cat are very different in their wants and needs. Due to childcare responsibilities, and to be fair to my partner, I can only house sit for 1 or 2 nights.
About: I have an Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Animal Management. I have always been surrounded by pets in my life and even as a child used to walk my neighbours dogs! You can be assured that your pet is in safe hands. I am free weekdays and weekends to assist with your pets as I work from home! My partner also works from home so there will never be a minute your pet is alone! Please book in and we can have a chat about your needs! We do live in a spacious flat, however there are plenty of grass areas outside and also a wooded walk across the road! We already take our pooch down several times a day for toilet breaks so your dog would fit right in! I can ensure the safety of your pet in your own home and also my own home. I can discuss your dogs routine with yourself and stick to this to ensure no disruption is caused.
“Katie was an absolutely wonderful house sitter - I would highly recommend her as a walker or sitter. She was excellent with Samson, who is a large dog who can occasionally be anxious when out on walks. She was incredibly mature, reliable and trustworthy and took excellent care of both Samson and my home whilst I was away and I was able to feel fully relaxed and enjoy my holiday. Samson absolutely loved her.”

“10/10! Chantelle was amazing. I am super anxious leaving my pups due to a previous bad experience but Chantelle put me right at ease. Easily reachable, took lots of pictures and gave lots of updates, couldn’t have wished for a better doggy sitter 🥰 Clearly very good at what she does, will 100% rebook in future!”

Kerry was fantastic! Came back to very relaxed doggies 😴 She kept us updated throughout the day, sent lots of lovely pictures and followed our instructions on dog care perfectly. We felt so at ease with Kerry looking after our babies. They were in excellent hands. Thank you!! 🥰

Dan and Chance are like best pals and Dan is great sitting for him. Chance is always chilled and we can see how good care Dan has given him. I would not like anyone else to look after my boy Chance. I would never be worried when Chance is looked after by Dan 😊

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Fareham walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fareham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
