“Andrew was brilliant with Izzy! Kept us updated, sent pictures and was great dealing with Izzy’s energy level (very energetic/passionate). Izzy got so upset when he left that I’m sure she is looking forward to seeing him again. Thank you Andrew!”

“Kohana was so friendly and my Yorkshire Terrier adored her. She is super responsive with messages and also very flexible with the timings on the day which was much appreciated. I shall be back in touch when next visiting the island and hope that she is available again. Thank you so much.”

About: I had my first pet when I was young a rabbit, then came dogs and cats , my last dog was with me for 16 years , my last cat for 9 , I can fit in walking and drop in feeding during the week and sitting in your home at weekends or evenings to suit your needs I would always like a written note on what you do so I can mirror this, so you are happy and your animal is happy with their routine, and of course you may get a few pics so you don't worry about leaving them
About: I have had my own dog/dogs for over 25 years. Recently lost my beloved Echo to cancer. Would love to rehome another 4 legged friend but due to work commitments would not be fair. Whilst caring for your special friend rest assured they will be treated like a prince/princess. I am waiting to start my new job. In the mean time I am free 24-7 to care for or walk you beloved pouch. I can come to you, or if you prefer your pet is welcome at my home. Once settled in my new position will be able to update my calendar with available date. I have a secure garden and dog friendly home. Lots of nice walks on the doorstep or can go further afield if your furry friend is happy to travel. Over the years I have been lucky enough to be mum to 3 Springer Spaniels and Echo, a Lurcher (Whippet cross). Sadly Echo passed away last year and due to work commitments have been unable to rehome another 😢.

About: I have grown up with cats. I adore them! Worked in Prison Service for 10 years so all DBS checks up to date. Relax while you are away knowing your pets are being looked after with lots of cuddles ( unless they hate cuddles of course! ) by a responsible animal lover!!
About: I’ve been a dog owner for the last 11 years and absolutely love them to bits. I’m caring, reliable and confident with dogs of all sizes, and I’ll always treat your dog like they’re my own. Whether they need walks, cuddles, playtime or a calm companion, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy and loved. I currently work part-time, so I have plenty of time to give your dog the attention, walks and care they need. I’m available for boarding on weekends. I’ll always make sure pets have regular toilet breaks, fresh water, playtime, cuddles and a routine that suits them. I’m also happy to discuss times that work best around your pet’s usual routine. I would care for pets as if they were my own, whether they’re in my home or in their owner’s home. I will always follow the owner’s routine, including feeding times, walks, toilet breaks, medication and any special instructions. I will make sure pets have fresh water, a clean and comfortable environment, lots of attention, and safe supervised care. My own dog is bathed, groomed and well cared for at home, with flea and worming treatment kept up to date, along with his boosters. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so owners feel reassured while they’re away.
About: I have a diploma in canine communication, first aid, pet sitting and dog walking. I’ve worked in a pet shop, which also helped gain experience and knowledge about cats and dogs. I’ve owned my dog since I moved out eight years ago. I’ve got experience with all types of animals from owning horses, down to rats, snakes, mice and fish. I’m currently just starting this venture, so I have full flexibility. Please get in contact with me to discuss times and days you need help with. Caring for pets in your home, will involve sticking to the routing you and your dog already have in place .. this makes it familiar to your furry family member. Whether that’s hourly toilet breaks or two hourly or a time they like a cuddle.
“Gavin and his daughter were incredible. They took such good care of our puppy, she was overjoyed to see them every day. Going on walks, discovering new places, eating good food and lots of playing time! Can't recommend enough!!!”

About: I have taken care and walked my dad’s dogs (for about 2 years) , my aunties 3 dogs for a year and my own 2 dogs for 2 years. I have my own working gun dog puppy who I have trained since I’ve had her and this is something I really enjoy! I also am doing my level 3 senior groom at an equestrian centre in Rookley and therefore care for animals all day 4 days a week and this is something I enjoy! I can provide 4 evenings/ night time pet sits a week. Tuesday night, Wednesdays night, Saturday night, Sunday night. I can walk from 9am till 5:30pm Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. I will ensure they have clean, fresh drinking water morning, midday, evening and before bed. I will ensure they go to the toilet every 2-3 hours, more frequently if they are senior dogs or young dog/puppy. They will be played with like they are my own puppies and I will carry on with any sort of training you have started with treats/biscuits you may give them. Sit, stay, wait, bed etc. I enjoy training and find it very rewarding when they start to understand. My Jack Russell knows, spin, round (spinning the other way), sit, stay, behind (behind my feet), heel off lead and on lead, steady (she will creep forwards in an army crawl), down, over (roll over), high five.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Isle of Wight walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Isle of Wight choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
